Supreme Court Of The United States Permits Police To Violate Fourth Amendment Rights

[From article]
“By refusing to hold police accountable to knowing and abiding by the rule of law, theSupreme Court has given government officials a green light to routinely violate the law,” said John W. Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute and author of the award-winning book A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State. “This case may have started out with an improper traffic stop, but where it will end—given the turbulence of our age, with its police overreach, military training drills on American soil, domestic surveillance, SWAT team raids, asset forfeiture, wrongful convictions, and corporate corruption—is not hard to predict. This ruling is what I would call a one-way, nonrefundable ticket to the police state.”

Harvard University Invests in California Wine Country Land

[From article]
Harvard University has quietly become one of the biggest grape growers in California’s drought-stricken Paso Robles wine region, securing water well drilling permits to feed its vineyards days before lawmakers banned new pumping, according to records reviewed by Reuters.
The investment, which began as a bet on the grape market, has turned into a smart water play as the wells boosted the value of its land in the up-and-coming wine region of Paso Robles. But it has also raised questions about the role of big investors in agriculture in the midst of a water crisis.
“It remains to be seen what commitment they have to the business of agriculture,” said Susan Harvey of environmental advocacy group North County Watch, which has been following the drought closely. “Is Harvard going to keep pumping ground water, or cut back on returns to protect water quality and quantity?”
Brodiaea Inc, wholly owned by the secretive $36 billion Harvard endowment fund, has spent more than $60 million to purchase about 10,000 acres in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties since 2012, making it one of the top 20 growers in Paso Robles.
[. . .]
The company got permits for seven 800-foot wells on Aug. 21, 2013, six days before a ban on new pumping from the hardest-hit part of the basin took effect, according to previously unreported data from the records.
[. . .]
Harvard’s investment arm, often a pioneer in new asset classes, has faced criticism in the past for some of its timber and energy investments and last year the school signed on to U.N.-backed principles for responsible investment.

Campaign Finance, Matching Taxpayer Funds, No Solution To Corruption

[From article]
The current enthusiasm for “public” financing far surpasses evidence of its merits, however. Under the city’s program, public corruption continues to be endemic, while voter-turnout levels have dropped to record lows and incumbents remain nearly unbeatable. Extending such a system statewide would waste money, overregulate the electoral process, and create new potential for abuse.
[. . .]
[. . .]
No evidence supports advocates’ claims that public financing strengthens democracy. Even if the offer of a taxpayer match encourages more people to give money to campaigns, as some studies have suggested, donor participation remains low compared with the total voting population.
[. . .]
voter turnout—a more robust indicator of democratic participation—has been declining in New York City. Just 26 percent of voters participated in the 2013 general election, the lowest figure in 50 years. More people voted for Rudolph Giuliani’s losing bid for office in 1989, the first election with matching funds, than for Bill de Blasio’s winning one in 2013, even as New York City’s population grew by more than 1 million
[. . .]
To date, the only mechanism that ensures turnover in city offices is term limits, which went into effect in 2001.
[. . .]
Even more discouragingly for campaign-finance proponents, public financing has done little or nothing to curb corruption in city government. Many participants in the matching-funds program have been implicated in one scandal or another. Public financing has even been the source of corruption.
[. . .]
One thing is for certain: state campaign-finance reform would mean bigger government, in the form of more regulation enforced by an expanded bureaucracy.
[. . .]
Ultimately, though, Albany needs a change of culture. “The quality of people in politics was a hell of a lot higher years ago,” says former lieutenant governor Richard Ravitch. “The problem is that no good people want to run for office.” Ravitch is right. Government policy alone can’t solve the problem of public corruption.

Sharyl Attkisson Reveals Federal Government Uses Taxpayer Funds To Produce Sophisticated Propaganda

[From article]
Attkisson said the federal government has adopted many public affairs strategies used by large corporations, except the government is using public funds to “advance its propaganda.”
“One way they do it is by self-producing videos and building their very own television production facilities where the upper echelon give interviews and speeches, controlling everything from content to lighting,” she said.
According to Attkisson, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) use millions of taxpayer dollars to expand or create their own television studios. Attkisson said the FDA has a studio that can fit a live audience of 100 people and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has a studio with Hitachi high-definition cameras and LCD-based teleprompters.
“When top officials from those federal agencies appear on camera, naturally they have to look good. So your tax dollars may kick in for the cost of their hairstylists, makeup artists and wardrobe consultants,” she said. “One insider told me that the head of a federal agency even had her fashion colors analyzed at taxpayer expense.”
[. . .]
A few years ago, a well-placed insider at the U.S. Department of Agriculture told Attkisson he was surprised to learn there were more than 1,200 “media relations employees” on staff.
[. . .]
“There’s delay, denial, obstruction, intimidation, retaliation, bullying, surveillance and for some, the possible threat of criminal prosecution. In my view and that of other national reporters, this is proving to be the least transparent administration we’ve covered,” she said. “It’s so bad that practically every major news outlet including the CBS News,Washington Post and the New York Times signed a scathing letter to the White House in 2013 objecting to restrictions on the press that are unprecedented, that we have not dealt with before.”

White House Shows Contempt For Constitution and Oath of Office

[From article]
American constitutions generally precluded any executive acts suspending or dispensing with the law.” Law professors Robert Delahunty and John Yoo make similar points in a recent Texas Law Review article, noting that Pennsylvania’s James Wilson, the Take Care Clause’s original proponent, explained years after the Constitution’s ratification that the president has no authority “to make, or alter, or dispense with the laws.”
[. . .]
After years of controversy over his targeted nonenforcement of federal laws—from “waiving” inconvenient provisions of the Affordable Care Act to disregarding provisions of the Clean Air Act that would render his climate-change program unsustainable—the president announced that he was effectively waiving the federal immigration laws with respect to 5 million illegal immigrants. He justified his policy on the basis of scarce government resources—the administration cannot deport all 11 million illegal immigrants, the argument goes, so it should at least set policies that prioritize particular deportations over others.
[. . .]
where OLC concludes that the president’s policy does not, “under the guise of exercising enforcement discretion, attempt to effectively rewrite the laws to match [his] policy preferences,” the president speaks to the contrary. “I just took an action to change the law,” he told an audience days after the OLC issued its analysis.
It is this unbridgeable gap between the president’s actions and the Justice Department’s rationalizations that reveals Obama’s failure to satisfy his constitutional obligation to “take care that the laws be faithfully executed.” Though a certain degree of statutory under-enforcement is tolerable (and often laudable) under our constitutional framework, the president is not “faithful” when his approach is fundamentally dishonest.

French Digital Company Advertises For Designer, "No Jews If Possible"

[From article]
An anti-Semitic job advert looking for a computer graphics designer who is 'not Jewish if possible' has sparked outrage after appearing on a French website.
The advert appeared on specialist jobs site www.graphic-jobs.com for 35 minutes on Monday, apparently posted by Parisian design agency NSL Studio.
But NSL Studio has since moved to distance itself from the advert - which was quickly taken down from the site - claiming it had been hacked on the company's Twitter account.[. . .]
The advert's appearance will no doubt pour fuel on existing tensions in France.
Jewish communities called for extra protection the in the wake of January's attacks, which left a total of 17 people dead, including the four in the Jewish deli.
Then today, three soldiers guarding a Jewish community centre in Nice were stabbed by a 'suspected jihadist'.
Some Jewish leaders have been advising Jews living in Europe to consider relocating to Israel, in the belief the continent is no longer safe for their community.[. . .]
Speaking at Paris' Great Synagogue two days after the attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: 'But Jews of our time have been blessed with another right, a right that did not exist for previous generations of Jews: the right to join their Jewish brothers and sisters in our historic homeland...
'Any Jew who wishes to immigrate to Israel will be welcomed with open arms and warm and accepting hearts.'
Meanwhile, French counter-terrorism experts have identified 64 suburbs in dozens of cities that act as breeding grounds for Islamic extremism.
The French government also believes that around 400 French citizens have travelled to Syria and Iraq to fight alongside militants from the Islamic State terror group.

Maryland High School OKs Black Students Beating White Teachers Perceived As Making Racist Comment

A teacher (pictured) was left covered in blood last week following an attack by a student over a perceived racist remark at Forestville High School in Maryland.
The report sounds as if the comment was racist, then the student would be justified in attacking the teacher. This indicates how distorted reality is concerning one form, one single form of discrimination. which remains undefined. Using that standard, every time a Palestinian activist expresses his hatred toward Jewish people, and Israel, it would be legal for any Jewish person to attack the Palestinian. If the school administrators, government officials and police do not wake up soon there will be extensive violence which the police will be unable to control. It will be the fulfilling of the prediction by Conor Cruise O'Brien about the instability of the United States regarding culture, religion and identity. With all the influence that teachers unions have why have they not spoken up to defend this teacher? Will the student be evaluated for paranoia?

A high school teacher was left covered in blood last week after he was punched by a male student over a perceived racist remark.
The teacher at Forestville High in Maryland, who was not identified by officials but named as James Hemmen on social media, suffered minor injuries after being attacked by the teen.
The school characterized the incident last Thursday as a 'misinterpretation of a comment' during class but some students and parents said the teacher made a racially-insensitive remark.
[. . .]
The student is to be disciplined for the attack, according to NBC, with authorities adding that this was an isolated incident and there was no need to increase security at the school.
It was not clear on Tuesday if the student would face criminal charges over the attack.
According to a school district spokeswoman: 'On January 29, a misinterpretation of a comment in a classroom at Forestville High School resulted in an assault against a teacher.

US State Department Lied About Meeting With Muslim Brotherhood

[From article]
The State Department admitted on Monday that it misled reporters about a recent delegation of Muslim Brotherhood leaders and allies who were hosted for a meeting with officials at Foggy Bottom.
State Department spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki claimed last week that the controversial delegation of key Brotherhood leaders and allies had been “organized and funded by Georgetown University.”
However, the university denied this is the case when reached by the Washington Free Beacon.
[. . .]

The Muslim Brotherhood is the central Sunni coordinating mission for jihad, the conquest and subjugation of the world to the dictates of sharia law, and the supremacy of Muslims over infidels. The Egyptian government has identified the MB as a terrorist organization.
Egyptian government officials expressed anger at the Obama administration for hosting representatives of a group they consider to be terrorists.
[. . .]
The Obama administration has pursued a pro-MB policy ever since the president invited MB members to his historic Cairo speech, in which he apologized for America to the Muslim world. However, the Egyptians, who experienced and rejected Muslim Brotherhood rule, are appalled.
[. . .]
Just days after the Brotherhood-aligned delegation was hosted at the State Department, the Islamist organization released a statement calling for “a long, uncompromising jihad.”

Americans Distrust Federal Government, Ready For Revolution?

[From article]
Americans view the federal government as dreadful.
Americans are more dissatisfied with federal government services than at any time since this survey began. The survey also found that in three of the four aspects of service – “process,” “information,” and “customer services” – satisfaction with the federal government was at the lowest level ever.[. . .]
There are two levels of “government” service tested, “federal government” and “local and federal government,” and “federal” is viewed as worse than “state and local” government services. Even when the federal government is broken down by agency – Defense, Agriculture, Treasury, etc. – not a single federal agency is as high as the aggregate average for private and public institutions.
[. . .]
Gallup showed that trust in the executive branch was not at the lowest level ever (that nadir was reached when Nixon resigned forty years ago), but this confidence was still near its lowest. Trust in the legislative branch is at the lowest level ever as well, as is trust in the judicial branch.
This is a problem of trust not in government generally, but in the federal government specifically.[. . .]
People correctly see the federal government, which lives in the Never-Never Land of Washington, as about as close to America generally as London was to the colonies in 1775.
There are seeds of a peaceful and constitutional revolution.

White House Misguided Foreign Policy

[From article]
But here is Foreign Policy on Obama's "pivoting to Iran."
Iran is now going nuclear, courtesy of Barack Hussein Obama.
But wait! Our good friend Recip ErdoÄŸan of Turkey, "Obama's best friend in the Middle East" is now supporting ISIS – the worst mass murdering would-be regime on the Sunni side of the street.
[. . .]
In a sane world, this man should be on our terrorist suspect list, but instead he is "advising" our Department of Homeland Security.
[. . .]
Muslim Brotherhood money goes to the Clintons, the Carters, and the Obamas, and they all give real value for that money.)
[. . .]
The Muslim Brotherhood assassinated President Anwar Sadat of Egypt forty years ago for making peace with Israel. After Obama pressured Egypt's longest-lasting peace-keeping president, Hosni Mubarak, into leaving office, at the beginning of the completely fraudulent "Arab Spring," a Muslim Brotherhood thug was "elected" president and started to purge the judiciary and military in Egypt.
Egypt's political elites revolted, and with the help of Saudi Arabia, they overthrew the Islamic fascists in favor of General El Sisi.
[. . .]
The Islamic "Republic" is a war theocracy, and its aims are always conquest of the infidels and the apostates. To Iran, Saudi Arabia is worse than Israel and the West, since the Sunni Muslims abandoned the true way of Allah.
(Naturally, ISIS and the Saudis say the same thing about the Iranians.)

Palestinian Supporters Intimidate Israeli Supporters At UCLA

Jewish activists are frightened by the anti-Semitic climate at University of California. (Twitter)
[From article]
Anti-Israel activists at the University of California, Davis heckled Jewish students and shouted “Allahu Akbar” at them during a vote last week on a resolution endorsing a boycott of the Jewish state, according to video of the event obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
The commotion erupted late Thursday evening as pro-Israel students attempted to counter a student government resolution to divest from Israel as part of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Activists waving Palestinian flags shouted at the Jewish and pro-Israel students as they left the meeting room ahead of an eight to two vote in favor of the divestment resolution, which is part of a larger movement by anti-Israel groups to attack Israel and pro-Israel students on campus.
[. . .]
Following the vote, which was championed by the pro-Hamas group Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), unknown vandals spray-painted swastikas on a fraternity house belonging to the Jewish AEPi organization.

Few Young Voters Know Either US Senator From Their State

[From article]
For one thing, they say they’re increasingly engaged ahead of the all-important election — but it’s also clear they’re not very well-informed. And they think government can help them, particularly in an area where they’ve struggled to get ahead — in their jobs.
[. . .]
According to the survey, 49 percent say they are politically unaffiliated — including a majority (58 percent) of young Latino voters, half of young male voters, and half of the 25-29-aged voters in the sample.

77 percent of 18- to 34-year-olds in the new survey could not name even one US senator in their home state.

Homeless New York Man Beats Hotels, Restaurants For Thousands of Dollars

A homeless man conned his way into weeklong stays at two Manhattan hotels — including the Algonquin — sleeping in luxury and feasting on cuisine from Tao restaurant, law enforcement sources told The Post.
Isa Bako, 33 — a broke celebrity-hanger-on and former model whose goal was to put on a fashion show featuring his hats on naked models — first pampered himself for eight days at the Courtyard Marriott on West 37th Street, sources said.
He racked up more than $2,000 in bills at the hotel — including for food deliveries from upscale Tao — using stolen credit card information, authorities say.
The drifter moved to The Algonquin Hotel on West 44th Street, where he allegedly spent five days using credit card info swiped from another victim, a 49-year-old Dallas businessman.
[. . .]
Bako was hit with identity theft charges and remains at Rikers Island on $30,000 bail. His next Manhattan Criminal Court hearing is set for March 3.
He is accused of committing the fraud between Oct. 24, 2013, and Nov. 7, 2013, sources said.
His lawyer, Brian Kennedy, declined to comment.
The Wisconsin-born Bako claims a pal from Nigeria, where his parents are from, gave him the credit card information, sources said.

NYPD Officer Indicted For Stomping On Suspect's Head

An NYPD cop has been indicted for allegedly stomping on the head of a subdued suspect in an incident that was caught on video, a source said.
Officer Joel Edouard, 37, will be arraigned Tuesday in Brooklyn Supreme Court on an assault charge for kicking Jahmil-El Cuffee after he was wrestled to the ground by cops in Bedford-Stuyvesant last July, according to the source.
“Help me! Help me!” Cuffee, 32, can be heard yelling on the video. “I didn’t do nothing.”
Cops were on patrol when they saw Cuffee allegedly rolling a joint outside a home at 223 Malcolm X Blvd. on July 23, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Cuffee showed cops his ID, but when they attempted to place him under arrest, he allegedly resisted and the officers struggled to take him down.
Edouard is seen on the video pulling out his gun before allegedly stomping on the suspect’s head. Cuffee suffered minor injuries.

Advocates who oppose bringing Sharia law to the USA, and supporters of Israel are are often silenced. Reasons for adopting "us against them" includes, (1) Muslims and leftist Americans want to destroy Israel; (2) there are 1.6 billion Muslims, and about 13-15 million Jews in the world; and (3) there are 49 Muslim dominated countries in the world and one dominated by Jews. According to the colleges, their graduates are going to earn all sorts of money! At least that’s what they say when they’re conning teenagers into taking out colossal student loans.

Going after Big Education is all upside for the GOP. College professors and administrators already vote 98 percent for the Democrats. In fact, it’s a triple-play for Republicans: They would punish a liberal constituency, strike a blow against the principal vehicle of liberal indoctrination in America, and the middle class will love it.

Israeli Ambassador To US Explains Why Netanyahu Will Speak To Congress

This speech by Israeli Ambassador Ron Dermer gives all the reasons that Bibi Netyanhu will take the risk of upsetting President Obama by coming to address the US Congress.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
As purchasers of Israel Bonds, you have been true partners in building Israel.
And in the nearly 67 years of Israel’s independence, we should be grateful for many things.
We should be grateful that we have signed peace agreements with Egypt and Jordan that have endured decades of challenges.
We should be grateful that Israel has transformed itself from an agriculturally based economy to a global technological power.
We should be grateful that Israel is a world leader in medicine and science, and can boast of a dozen Nobel Prize Winners.
We should be grateful that Israel has world class museums, first rate restaurants, European League Basketball Championships and a country so exciting that Israelis actually have to go to Manhattan to unwind.
But above all else, the birth of the Jewish state should make the Jewish people grateful for three things: First, Israel gave us a voice. Second, Israel provided a refuge. Third, and most important, Israel enabled us to defend ourselves.
Now, everyone can appreciate the significance of having a refuge. For nearly seven decades, Jews fleeing oppression have found a home in Israel. They came from the killing fields of Europe, were driven out of hostile states in North Africa and the Middle East, were rescued from Ethiopia and arrived en masse when the iron curtain fell.
Today, it is the Jewish community of France that is flocking to Israel. Three years ago, 1900 French Jews made Aliyah. Two years ago, 3500 came. Last year, 7,000 came. This year, we expect 15,000 to come.
That’s nearly 3% of the French Jewish community – the equivalent of some 200,000 American Jews moving to Israel in a single year.
French Jews are coming because like Jews elsewhere in Europe, they live with a fear they have not experienced since the 1940s.
Their cemeteries and synagogues are desecrated, their schools are attacked, and their fellow Jews are murdered for being Jews.
For a few decades after the Holocaust, anti-Semitism in Europe was politically incorrect. But time has shown that this proved to be a notable exception rather than a new norm.
Anti-Semitism has once again become as European as Croissants.
And it is not just militant Muslims in Europe, who with their grotesque chants of Gas the Jews, spread the old poison. It also includes many European intellectuals -- only they mask the old hatred of the Jewish people behind a new hatred of the Jewish state.
When Nobel Laureates compare Gaza to Auschwitz, when the Middle East’s only democracy is singled out for boycotts, and when European governments fall over themselves to embrace a Palestinian government which is backed by a genocidal, terror organization, it’s not legitimate criticism of Israel. It’s anti-Semitism.
When 60% of the Human Rights Council’s resolutions are directed against Israel as hundreds of thousands are being butchered in Syria, gays are being hanged from cranes in Tehran, and scores of journalists rot in Turkish prisons, it’s not legitimate criticism of Israel. It’s anti-semitism.
A few weeks ago, the signatories of the Geneva Conventions convened for only the third time in their history to condemn a county - and guess what, all three times they have met was to condemn Israel.
They didn’t meet to condemn the Khmer Rouge for killing two million Cambodians. They didn’t meet to condemn the genocides in Rwanda or in Darfur. They didn’t meet to condemn the giant concentration camp that it called North Korea.
They met to condemn Israel, the most beleaguered democracy on Earth - where there is free speech, freedom of religion, independent courts, genuine elections and where the rights of women, gays and all minorities are protected.
And one more thing: When the International Criminal Court – a court that was founded in the wake of the Holocaust to be a permanent Nuremberg that would ensure that mass murderers are brought to justice – when that court goes after Israel for defending itself against a terror organization that fires thousands of rockets at its cities and uses its own people as human shields, it’s not legitimate criticism of Israel. It’s anti-Semitism.
But amidst all this hatred, and the threats to Jews living in Europe, one thing has changed.
Despite all the concerns regarding the future of French Jewry, one set of questions is not being asked today: Where will the Jews go? Who will take them in? Where can they find refuge?
Those questions are not being asked because Israel is the answer. And I am proud that my Prime Minister made clear to all French Jews that while they have the right to be protected in France, they will be welcomed with open arms in Israel.
And if they decide to come to Israel, they will not be treated as visitors from a foreign land but as family members who have come home.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
If people can appreciate the significance of Israel as a refuge, they can appreciate even more the significance of the Jewish people restoring our capability to defend ourselves.
They appreciate it because they know what happened to our people when we lacked that capability. They know that a defenseless Jewish people was once subjected to calamities of a scope and scale that is unprecedented in the history of nations -- centuries of persecution and blood libels, expulsions and countless massacres, and of course the most horrific calamity of all – the Holocaust.
They appreciate that the simple truth remains that if Israel’s enemies laid down their arms, there would be peace, but if Israel laid down its arms, there would be no Israel.
They appreciate that without the capacity to defend ourselves, Israel would not have survived five wars, two conflicts in Lebanon, 3 conflicts in Gaza, decades of terrorism and tens of thousands of rockets.
And they appreciate that Israel must have the power to defend itself by itself against the enormous threats we face today – from Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, terror organizations in the Sinai and the Golan, and of course from an Iran determined to develop nuclear weapons.
But if people can appreciate having a refuge and having the ability to defend ourselves, few seem to appreciate what it means for the Jewish people to finally have a voice – a sovereign voice that must be reckoned among the nations.
That became clear to me earlier this month in the debate over whether the Prime Minister of Israel should go to France for the solidarity march in Paris.
To me, his trip there was a no-brainer. After all, Israel constantly asks France to stand with us in our battle against terrorism. It’s only natural that Israel should stand with France in its battle against terrorism.
But there were those in Paris and even some in Jerusalem who thought that Israel’s presence there would divert attention from the united message France was trying to deliver against terror and focus it instead on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Now, those who think that what the French are facing in Paris is fundamentally different than what Israel is facing in Jerusalem simply don’t get it.
And it is precisely because of this wrongheadedness that is was imperative for an Israeli Prime Minister to be there.
He had an obligation to explain that Israel’s fight is their fight. He had an obligation to explain that the fanaticism that is driving Boko Haram in Nigeria, ISIS in Iraq and Syria and Al Qaeda throughout the Middle East is the same fanaticism that drives people to attack sentries in Ottawa, shoppers in Sydney, and cartoonists in Paris.
And he has an obligation to explain that this fanaticism is the same fanaticism that drives people to fire thousands of rockets from Gaza, stab passengers on a bus in Tel Aviv and hack worshippers to death in a synagogue in Jerusalem.
This fanaticism is not about this or that grievance. It is not driven by the policies of this or that Israeli government. It is bred by Palestinian leaders who glorify terrorists as heroes, name public squares after killers and who through their media and schools poison children with constant incitement toward Jews and Israel.
Ladies and Genetlemen,
In the battle against militant Islam, Israel is the canary in the coal mine.
Israel is an outpost of Western civilization, tolerance andpluralism in a region poisoned by tyrants and terrorists.
You know when we’ll know that what happened in Paris proves more than a powerful photo-op. You know when we’ll know that Europe has truly woken up to the dangers of militant Islam.
When they stop blaming the canary for the poison. When they stop blaming Israel for militant Islam and start standing with Israel against militant Islam.
But for that to happen, to enable Europe to begin to connect the dots – for our sake and theirs - Israel must not be silent. Israel must speak the truth. Fearlessly and unapologetically.
That is why it was so important for the Prime Minister to go to France. That is why it was so important for him to march in Paris and speak out.
And if was important for the Prime Minister to speak out in Paris about anti-Semitism and the threat from militant Islam, it is even more important for him to speak out in Washington DC about the dangers of a nuclear Iran.
The Prime Minister’s visit here is not intended to show any disrespect for President Obama. Israel deeply appreciates the strong support we have received from President Obama in many areas – the enhanced security cooperation, heightened intelligence sharing, generous military assistance and iron dome funding, and opposition to anti-Israel initiatives at the United Nations.
The Prime Minister’s visit is also not intended to wade into your political debate. Israel deeply appreciates the strong bipartisan support we enjoy in the American Congress -- where Democrats and Republicans come together to support Israel -- Just as Israel appreciates the wide and deep support that itenjoys among the American people.
Rather, the Prime Minister’s visit to Washington is intended for one purpose -- and one purpose only. To speak up while there is still time to speak up. To speak up when there is still time to make a difference.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Iran is the world’s most dangerous regime. It has already devoured four Arab capitals – Baghdad, Damascus, Beirut and Saana in Yemen – and it is hungry for more.
Iran is the greatest sponsor of terrorism in the world, perpetrating or ordering attacks in 25 countries on five continents in the last four years alone.
Iran is responsible for the murder of thousands of American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan and hundreds of Marines in Lebanon. It is responsible for the bombings of US Embassies in Africa and for the twin bombings two decades ago in Argentina.
This reign of terror and violence has all happened without Iran having a nuclear weapon. Now just imagine how much more dangerous Iran will be with nuclear weapons.
And do not think that America is beyond Iran’s reach.
Today, Iran is building ICBMs - Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles. Now only in cartoons do ICBMS carry TNT. In the real world, they carry nuclear payloads.
And those ICBMS that Iran is building are not designed to hit Israel. Iran already has missiles for that.
Those ICBMs are designed to reach Europe and the United States – to reach New York, Washington and Miami.
For Israel, a nuclear armed Iran would be a clear and present danger.
Iran’s regime threatens Israel with destruction. Its leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, recently tweeted - in English - that Israel must be annihilated.
Iran has used Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other proxies to fire thousands of rockets and threaten Israel from Lebanon, Gaza, the Sinai and the Golan Heights.
Iran’s regime is both committed to Israel’s destruction andworking toward Israel’s destruction.
Today, the international community stands at the precipice of forging an agreement with Iran over its nuclear program.
The agreement that is being discussed today is not an agreement that would dismantle Iran’s nuclear weapons capability, but rather one that could leave Iran as a nuclear threshold state.
That is an agreement that could endanger the very existence of the State of Israel.
Now there may be some people who believe that the Prime Minister of Israel should have declined an invitation to speak before the most powerful parliament in the world on an issue that concerns the future and survival of Israel.
But we have learned from our history that the world becomes a more dangerous place for the Jewish people when the Jewish people are silent.
That is why the Prime Minister feels the deepest moral obligation to appear before the Congress to speak about an existential issue facing the one and only Jewish state.
This is not just the right of the Prime Minister of Israel. It is his most sacred duty -- to do whatever he can to prevent Iran from ever developing nuclear weapons that can be aimed at Israel.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
For nearly two thousand years, the Jewish people were a stateless, voiceless, and powerless people. We had no sovereignty, no voice in international affairs, and no capability to defend ourselves.
As storm clouds gathered against us, the Jews often had nowhere to go. They begged others to speak to Kings and Presidents on their behalf. They begged others to raise the alarm so that people of good will might heed their call.
And when those storms finally raged, the Jewish people pleaded with others to protect us, to give us shelter to survive another day.
Are there any survivors here tonight? Please stand up.
You know what it means to live in a world where the Jewish people had no state. You know what it means for the Jewish people to have no one to speak on their behalf.
You know what it meant to live in a world where the Jewish people have no power to defend themselves.
But today is not 1938.
The Jewish people are no longer stateless. We have restored our sovereignty in our ancestral homeland.
The Jewish people are no longer voiceless. Israeli Prime Ministers can address the United Nations and the American Congress, and Israeli Ambassadors can speak up in the world’s capitals and on CNN.
And most important, the Jewish people no longer beg others to defend us. We can defend ourselves.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Jewish people are a people who have survived all the evil that history has thrown at us.
And we will survive the evil that we face today.
But we will not do it by bowing our heads and by hoping that the storm will pass.
We will do it by standing tall and by confronting the storm with faith and courage.
And I have no doubt that as Israel stands tall, you will all be by our side – standing tall, standing proud, standing with Israel.

Cambridge Fire Department Saves Hundreds of Millions of Dollars of Art at Harvard University

Cambridge MA Fire Department responded to the new Harvard University Art Museum, about 100 feet from the fire headquarters, to save hundreds of millions of dollars worth of art. Though the city was in the middle of clearing snow from the previous day, the department was able to act in time. These images were captured at about 3:30 PM on Tuesday February 3, 2015.

Non Emergency Health Hazard At Harvard University

Harvard University Housing employs a contractor who brings empty dumpsters for residents at 85-95 Prescott Street in which to place their trash. After the first snowstorm on January 26-27, 2015 and before the second snowstorm on February 2, 2015, the trash hauler brought a new style dumpster, or it was a new trash hauler. In any case this new type dumpster has a side door that does not open.

After the snowstorm too much snow accumulated making it difficult if not impossible to open the top door. Residents began placing their trash alongside the dumpster providing food for raccoons, rodents, squirrels and birds during this period of extreme cold. Though this is a health hazard it is not an emergency. In keeping with the Housing division email on February 2, 2015 it will wait until after the snows end.

These images were captured at about 3:30 PM on Tuesday February 3, 2015 the day after the second snowstorm.

South Africa Reports High Incidence of Police Detaining Women To Rape Them

The report said a typical case involved an officer stopping a young woman in a public place, before taking her away to be raped in the back of a police vehicle.

[From article]
In a number of incidents, the police officer used his authority to force the victims to submit to his demands.
In one incident, a woman was raped several times while in custody and in another, a woman was raped in court.
Nine out of the 26 listed rape cases occurred in either police station cells or official police vehicles.
The report says in a typical case, a police officer would stop a young woman in a public place, before taking her away to be raped in the back of a police vehicle and then setting her free.
It found a 'significant evidence of a trend' where police officers detain women in order to rape them.
A 2011 version of the report had similar results, including a serious problem with sexual violence by police officers in a country which has one of the highest recorded rates of rape in the world.

Updated: Black New York Times Columnist Complains About Campus Police Stopping His Son At Yale; Omits Fact That Officer Is Black, As Well As Police Chief

Posted January 29, 2015 9:23 PM ET; Last updated February 1, 2015 8:23 PM ET

[From article]
Frankly, I've never been able to read anything from Mr. Blow again. He is a racialist, a man obsessed with skin color rather than what people have to say. Mr. Blow is Exhibit A in the corrupt relationship between the race hustlers and the Democratic Party!
[. . .]
So he wrote a story about his son being stopped by a police officer. It was "the Blow version" of the Michael Brown story. However, Mr. Blow omitted a few facts and now looks even more foolish than ever.
The NY Post has the details:
[. . .]
Yet in his entire 867-word piece, and in all his tweets, Blow omitted a key fact: The officer who drew his gun is also black.
OK, maybe Blow didn’t think this was relevant -- black cops can be biased, too. But why not let readers decide for themselves?
There were other omissions and distortions.
Yale’s police chief, for example, is also black.
And while Blow did concede his son was stopped because cops were responding to a call about a burglary suspect who fit Tahj’s description, a Yale official says Blow’s claim that his son was “accosted” is “deeply inaccurate.”
[. . .]
In the meantime, let me remind you of a lesson I learned in 2010: Charles Blow is full of crap and a lot more! My guess is that the NY Times will keep relying on his "racialist view" of the world!

First on Twitter and then in The New York Times, black columnist Charles Blow raged against a policeman at Yale questioning at gunpoint his son Tahj – who attends Yale. But Blow never mentioned in all this fuss that the cop was also a black man. Wouldn’t that fact matter as you tell this tale as some sort of racist horror story? Eddie Scarry at The Washington Examiner reports “Blow did not return a request for comment on why he omitted the race of the officer in his column or whether the race of the officer matters.”
[. . .]
The black website The Root reported Yale officials put out a campus-wide e-mail announcing the police officer was black. Yale’s president, dean and (black) police chief announced:

Islamist Terrorists Destroy Books and Libraries in Iraq

In this Friday, Jan. 23, 2015 photo, Iraqis look at books on al-Mutanabi Street, home to the city's book market in central Baghdad. One afternoon this month, the Islamic State militants arrived at the Central Library of the northern city of Mosul in a non-combat mission. They broke the locks that kept the two-story building closed since the extremists overran the city in mid last year, loading some 2,000 books included children stories, poetry, philosophy, sports, health and cultural and scientific publications into six pickup trucks and leaving behind only the Islamic religious ones. (AP Photo/Karim Kadim)
[From article]
When Islamic State group militants invaded the Central Library of Mosul earlier this month, they were on a mission to destroy a familiar enemy: other people's ideas.
Residents say the extremists smashed the locks that had protected the biggest repository of learning in the northern Iraq town, and loaded around 2,000 books — including children's stories, poetry, philosophy and tomes on sports, health, culture and science — into six pickup trucks. They left only Islamic texts.
The rest?
"These books promote infidelity and call for disobeying Allah. So they will be burned," a bearded militant in traditional Afghani two-piece clothing told residents,
[. . .]
Presumed destroyed are the Central Library's collection of Iraqi newspapers dating to the early 20th century, maps and books from the Ottoman Empire and book collections contributed by around 100 of Mosul's establishment families.
Days after the Central Library's ransacking, militants broke into University of Mosul's library. They made a bonfire out of hundreds of books on science and culture, destroying them in front of students.
A University of Mosul history professor, who spoke on condition he not be named because of his fear of the Islamic State group, said the extremists started wrecking the collections of other public libraries last month. He reported particularly heavy damage to the archives of a Sunni Muslim library, the library of the 265-year-old Latin Church and Monastery of the Dominican Fathers and the Mosul Museum Library with works dating back to 5000 BC.
[. . .]
An Iraqi lawmaker, Hakim al-Zamili, said the Islamic State group "considers culture, civilization and science as their fierce enemies."
Al-Zamili, who leads the parliament's Security and Defense Committee, compared the Islamic State group to raiding medieval Mongols, who in 1258 ransacked Baghdad.

Offensive Speech Is Protected By Constitution

Nina Korchok says, "Many questioned why a magazine would print cartoons that could be viewed as both hateful and discriminatory." Nowhere in this well reasoned essay is the background of what the notion of free speech means. The idea is to defend speech that you hate. There is no need for defend speech that you like and and with which you agree. It is hateful, offensive speech that needs to be protected. In ancient Greece there was a 12 hundred year tradition of free speech. No laws, no constitutional amendment. They celebrated diverse ideas, going as far as to allow St. Paul to preach in Athens. The Greeks did not have to contends with the feminization of their nation. Or the effort to create the therapeutic state, both of which focus on feelings rather than reason. An example of the misguided academic movement is the recommendation by Prof. Bishara that, "media outlets can make their audiences as inclusive as possible." Speech and news that appeals to all persons may no longer be news but pablum and propaganda.

[From article]
Many questioned why a magazine would print cartoons that could be viewed as both hateful and discriminatory. Many still questioned how a magazine would continue to publish cartoons of the prophet after such a tragedy.
[. . .]
Bishara also explained how media outlets can make their audiences as inclusive as possible.
[. . .]
“But they also regard humor as something above and beyond that, that part of their freedom is to be able to make fun of absolutely everything.

White House Concerned With Netanyahu's Visit, Without Its Permission

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

[From article]
History, as Mark Twain noted, doesn’t repeat itself, but it rhymes.
[. . .]
Normally, Netanyahu wouldn’t have the slightest problem on Capitol Hill, overwhelmingly supportive of the Israeli cause. Assuming the address goes ahead, it would be his third to Congress. On his last one, in May 2011, he received 29 standing ovations.
This time, however, the usual routine may not apply. Netanyahu will calculate that the dust will settle and the relationship will continue as always. And he’s right; the symmetry of interests between Israel and the US are too compelling, the ties too instinctive.

Perez also faces multiple counts of lying on life insurance applications, rape, sodomy, criminal threat, making false statements on auto credit applications and sexual exploitation of a child.

Government Control Freaks Take Freedom From Advocate for Persons With Disabilities, They Discredit Her and Diminish Her Spirit

Left: Alison Hymes attends a friend's wedding in Washington in 1984. (Courtesy of Alison Hymes) Right: Hymes is seen at the entrance of Riverdale Assisted Living on Dec. 17, 2014. (Evelyn Hockstein/For The Washington Post)
Contrary to its image of love and compassion, psychiatry is a means of social control with no due process protections. Among the misguided standards is if a person denies the entire concept of mental illness that too is a mental illness. Human emotions, ordinary protected speech and behavior are classified as illnesses. Using arbitrary standards psychiatrists take a person's freedom for speech and behavior which they do not like or do not understand.

[From article]
Hymes was no ordinary patient. Before landing at Western, she spent years urging others with mental illness and their families not to let doctors, judges and social workers make decisions for them. She was part of a state task force charged with reforming civil commitment laws at the time of the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre, serving alongside doctors, academics, and law enforcement officials.
The daughter of a prominent University of Virginia linguist, Hymes argued vehemently — and unsuccessfully — against loosening the state’s commitment criteria.
[. . .]
Anyone who knew Hymes from her days on the state’s commitment task force would not have recognized the timid woman in the hospital waiting room.
She had been a fixture at public meetings on mental health issues for years, with a reputation for challenging anyone, no matter how important.
[. . .]
Author Pete Earley, who served with Hymes on the state panel, described her as the loudest, fiercest voice against involuntary hospitalization and forced medication. “She wouldn’t give an inch and celebrated being an outsider,” he said. “She was relentless if you disagreed with her.”
[. . .]
Years of taking lithium had ruined Hymes’s kidneys. She was on a transplant waiting list as she served on the task force, spending much of her free time going to dialysis.
[. . .]
More significant for Hymes, the state adopted the approach to involuntary hospitalization recommended by the task force. It no longer required that people pose an “imminent danger” to themselves or others before they could be committed, but it also allowed involuntary hospitalization of those who showed a “substantial likelihood” of harm because of an inability to protect themselves from harm or to provide for their basic human needs.
[. . .]
When asked whether she was mentally ill, she replied, “I don’t really believe in mental disability.”
To clinicians, her answer was a sign of her illness, and they sent her to Western for what became a one-year stay. To her friends in what’s called “the psychiatric survivors movement,” her statement was a sign of sanity. She shared their view of involuntary hospitalization, forced medication and the use of restraints as traumatizing and a violation of civil rights. To them, she was not a patient but a political prisoner.
[. . .]
When outside pressure against her hospital commitment did not work, Hymes grew dejected. A doctor described her as “feeling hopeless and helpless” and saying, “ ‘I give up.’ ”

New York Policeman Draws Gun On Teens Having Snowball Fight; During Search For Gunman

[From article]
The incident is reminiscent of an infamous 2010 confrontation in The Bronx during which an off-duty NYPD cop pulled a gun on a group of teens after one threw a snowball at him – leading to an
out-of-court settlement in which the five kids each scored $60,000 from the city.
The 30-second clip of the New Rochelle incident shows a uniformed cop pointing a handgun as he approaches a male kneeling in the street with his hands in the air.
“Don’t f–king move, guys,” the cop warns.
[. . .]
“We will say that he is a Superior Officer (i.e., Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain) and not an inexperienced officer as some have speculated,” the site said.

Disabled Man, 67, Mugged Outside His Home

Frail Mugging Victim Alan Barnes

[From article]
When a severely disabled retiree was mugged outside his home, his neighbor felt compelled to act.
Alan Barnes, who is visually impaired and weighs just 83 pounds, was knocked to the ground as he took his trash out on January 25.
The 67-year-old British man was left with a broken collarbone and was too afraid to return home.
Shocked at the disgusting attack, 21-year-old neighbor Katie Culter set up a fund to help Barnes.

A seven-alarm fire that destroyed a warehouse and forced an evacuation in one of New York City’s trendiest neighborhoods could take weeks to extinguish completely, fire officials said on Sunday.
Some 270 firefighters have been sent to battle the blaze, which broke out early on Saturday, charring a four-story storage facility in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, said firefighter Daniel Glover. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Images posted to social media show billowing smoke forming a gray cloud above Brooklyn and a blackened carcass of the warehouse, which specializes in storing paper office records, taking up the length of an entire block.

Black Gangs Attack Whites in St. Paul, Minnesota

[From article]
Saint Paul Minnesota is a hotbed of racially driven black mob violence, but the media work diligently to keep it hidden. Recently the frequency of the attacks has increased in severity and now even the local media are forced to discuss it.
However, the media avoid the racial motive inherent in all of the suspects being black and all of the victims are white. The community is shocked, SHOCKED.

Obama Supporter Recognizes White House Violates Oath of Office

Clearly the President and the Attorney General violated their Oaths of Office regularly. But they are not the only ones. It is a pervasive exercise showing contempt for the Constitution by an alarming number of elected and appointed officials. If only there were penalties for violation of the oath. In modern post Constitutional America, only the little people need to obey the laws.

The liberals are the modern day version of the old Bolsheviks, just as the famed Jon Gruber divined.
The Bolsheviks believed that they were an elite chosen by history to implement the will of the masses. Only the politically conscious avant-garde could divine the true interests of the people.
And the liberals or progressives entertain the very same illusion about themselves !!!

[From article]
At the Attorney General Nomination Hearing for Loretta Lynch, George Washington University Law School professor and nationally recognized legal scholar Jonathan Turley, scathingly rebuked actions taken by President Obama and current Attorney General Eric Holder, saying that the "Justice Department is at the epicenter of a constitutional crisis.”
[. . .]
said Turley. “As my academic writings indicate, I have been concerned about the erosion of the lines of separation of powers for many years, and particularly the erosion of legislative authority, of this body, and of the House of Representatives.”
[. . .]
“As discussed in my written testimony, the Framers focused on one defining single danger in our system, and that is the aggrandizement of power in any one branch or in anyone’s hands,” explained Turley. “They sought to deny every branch the power to govern alone.”
“Our system requires consent and compromise,” said Turley. “It goes without saying that when we are politically divided as a nation, as we are today, less things get done, but that division is no license to go it alone as the president has suggested.”
“You have only two choices in the Madisonian system,” explained Turley. “You can either seek to convince your adversaries, or you can seek to replace them.”
“You don’t get to go it alone, and there is nothing noble about circumventing the United States Congress, because it means you are circumventing the United States Constitution,” said Turley,
[. . .]
“The separation of powers,” explained Turley, “is designed to protect liberty from the concentration of power.”
[. . .]
Although the President has insisted that he is merely exercising executive discretion, any such discretion by definition can only occur within the scope of granted authority and only to the extent that it is not curtailed by the language of the Constitution. This includes his obligation to faithfully execute the law. U.S. Const. art. II, § 3, cl. 4. Some of the President’s actions can be viewed as within permissible lines of discretion. However, many of his actions cannot and are violations of his oath of office. That oath is not merely an affirmative pledge to defend the Constitution but to yield to its limitations on his own authority.
