Gingrich Interviewed On Muslim Terrorists

Former US House Speaker, Newt Gingrich

[From interview]
But ISIS itself is a term that has very limited meaning. We’re in a war with the international effort to create Islamic supremacism.
[. . .]
as early as December of 2001, I was out at the CIA counterterrorism center and they were briefing me. And I said what’s the size of the potential recruiting base. And they said, oh, 3 - 5 percent of Islam. At that time, that was 39 - 65 million people. And I said what’s your target set at. They said about 5,000 people in Al Qaeda. Well, if you’re targeting 5,000 but the real recruiting base in 65 million you clearly don’t have the right sized strategy and you don’t have the right sized approach. So that’s part of why I wrote Duplicity to make the case that this is a virus. This is much more like Ebola. You have to think of it as an epidemiology problem and you have to say to yourself, how am I going to track down and defeat this ideology everywhere that it appears.
[. . .]
We’re actually 36 years into the world created by Ayatollah Khomeini and the Iranian hostage crisis of 1979. And remember, Jimmy Carter at one point suspended all visas to anybody from Iran in an effort to isolate Iran. So this has been a long fight and we still haven’t had the courage to come to grips with it. This administration should be massively helping Jordan, which is our most stable ally in the region. This administration ought to at least have the guts to recognize, as you just reported in the last section, that the guy wielding knives in California while carrying a flag ISIS is a terrorist. I mean, if the President of the United States can’t say that’s a terrorist, there is no possibility that this president has a clue about the real world.
[that supposes the White House is trying to protect the nation and its people.]
[author comments]
To assume Obama has no clue about the real world is, in my view, much too forgiving. I believe Obama absolutely has a clue about the real world and has a worldview that does not favor America.
[. . .]
why is it that ordinary Americans understand the grave and growing threat we face, yet our elected officials (including most Republicans) seem utterly lost and/or if clued in at all, merely nibble around the edges?
If we are to survive, our leaders and future leaders must do better. Much better. [. . .] The Islamic world knows what it wants and is going after it in any and all ways.
Who appears most committed to this 1400 year old battle of Islam vs. civilization? Because that’s who will win.

Another corrupt Albany pol bites the dust.
Former Queens Assemblyman William Scarborough was sentenced Monday to 13 months’ imprisonment and two years of probation for submitting more than $40,000 in bogus travel reimbursement for days he didn’t travel to Albany on legislative business.
[. . .]
He also must pay $54,355 in restitution.
The Post was the first to zero in on Scarborough’s shady practices, having caught him at a town hall meeting in Jamaica, Queens, on March 17, 2011, when he was claiming a $165 “per diem” expense payment for being in Albany that same day.
“I don’t think I have to give you proof,” the Democrat sniped in 2012.
[. . .]
Scarborough also pleaded guilty in state court this spring to grand larceny, admitting he took $38,000 in unauthorized cash withdrawals from his campaign fund.

[From article]
In an October 2012 article, The Post said Scarborough submitted vouchers claiming $825 in reimbursements for spending five nights in a row in Albany, from March 13 through March 17, 2011.
But news accounts at the time said he was in Jamaica, Queens, from 6 to 9 p.m. on March 17, 2011 — a Sunday — for a town hall meeting.
Records compiled by the state comptroller’s office show Scarborough racked up some of the largest per diems in town, pulling in $30,006 in 2011, $25,038 in 2012 and $18,522 in 2013.
Scarborough is just the latest Queens pol to be hit with corruption charges.
Queens Sen. Malcolm Smith, defeated in last month’s Democratic primary, faces a trial in January for trying to bribe his way onto the Republican ballot for mayor last year.
Disgraced ex-Queens Sen. Shirley Huntley was convicted of looting $87,000 from an educational nonprofit she had founded by going on shopping sprees, among other things.

Frisky Romantic Michigan Politicians Admit Affair, Won't Resign

Aug. 14, 2015: Representative Cindy Gamrat addresses the media with an apology at Abood Law Firm in Lansing, Mich.
(AP)

[From article]
"I am sincerely sorry that I have disappointed so many by my actions," Gamrat said during a news conference at an East Lansing law firm representing her. Her husband, Joe, stood at her side.
Gamrat said she made "poor decisions" in her personal life and takes "full responsibility" for hurting her husband and three children but did nothing wrong in her official capacity as a lawmaker.
"I believe an open and honest investigation will vindicate me," she said, while leaving the door open to stepping down later. "I intend to continue to represent my district to the best of my ability, and I look forward to re-engaging with my constituents in the days ahead."

The two legislators shared office space and aides, one of whom recorded a conversation with Courser where the politician said that he needed to 'inoculate the herd' against the news of his divorce with a 'ridiculous' story.

[From article]
Gamrat, a social conservative and Tea Party activist, took office in January.
Courser, a fellow freshman Tea Party representative who like Gamrat bases legislation on Christian beliefs, said this week he orchestrated a false, sexually explicit email to Republicans and reporters in May claiming he was caught having sex with a male prostitute to make the affair less believable if it got out.
He apologized in an audio statement but said he would not resign, saying he devised the email under intense pressure after a 'blackmailer' sent anonymous text messages demanding that he resign or the relationship would be exposed.
[. . .]
both Gamrat and Courser cite their Christian faith as an inspiration behind conservative policy platforms, had worked closely together and even shared office space and aides.
The pair were said to disappear from the office together for hours on Thursday afternoons
Gamrat said she shared staff with Courser to 'eliminate redundancy and save taxpayer dollars.'
At the press conference, she said that the shared-staff arrangement had ended and that her current relationship with Courser is 'professional'.

Bud The Cowboy

A cowboy named Bud was overseeing his herd in a remote mountainous pasture in Montana when suddenly a brand-new 2015 BMW advanced toward him out of a cloud of dust. The driver, a young man in a Brioni® suit, Gucci® shoes, RayBan® sunglasses and YSL® tie, leaned out the window and asked thecowboy, "If I tell you exactly how many cows and calves you have in your herd, will you give me a calf?"

Bud looks at the man, who obviously is a yuppie, then looks at his peacefully grazing herd and calmly answers, "Sure, why not?"

The yuppie parks his car, whips out his Dell® notebook computer, connects it to his Apple i phone, and surfs to a NASA page on the Internet, where he calls up a GPS satellite to get an exact fix on his location which he then feeds to another NASA satellite that scans the area in an ultra-high-resolution photo.

The young man then opens the digital photo in Adobe Photoshop® and exports it to an image processing facility in Hamburg, Germany ...

Within seconds, he receives an email on his Apple iPad® that the image has been processed and the data stored. He then accesses an MS-SQL® database through an ODBC connected Excel® spreadsheet with email on his Galaxy S5® and, after a few minutes, receives a response.

Finally, he prints out a full-color, 150-page report on his hi-tech, miniaturized HP LaserJet® printer, turns to the cowboy and says, "You have exactly 1,586 cows and calves."
"That's right. Well, I guess you can take one of my calves," saysBud.

He watches the young man select one of the animals and looks on with amusement as the young man stuffs it into the trunk of his car.

Then Bud says to the young man, "Hey, if I can tell you exactly what your business is, will you give me back my calf?"

The young man thinks about it for a second and then says, "Okay, why not?"

"You're a Congressman for the U.S.Government", says Bud.

"Wow! That's correct," says the yuppie, “but how did you guess that?"

"No guessing required." answered thecowboy. "You showed up here even though nobody called you; you want to get paid for an answer I already knew, to a question I never asked. You used millions of dollars worth of equipment trying to show me how much smarter than me you are; and you don't know S--- about how working people make a living - or about cows, for that matter. This is a herd of sheep.”

“Now give me back my dog.”

Maryland Official Charged With Indecent Exposure After Flashing and Shaking Her Bare Breasts At Her Ex-husband

Delegate Ariana B. Kelly, a Montgomery County Democrat

There was no response to repeated requests for a copy of the video showing the elected representative shaking her breasts.

[From article]
The charges were filed against Delegate Ariana B. Kelly, a Montgomery County Democrat, in late June, according to court documents obtained by The Washington Post, which first reported the story.
The 38-year-old lawmaker was divorced in November from husband Barak Sanford and purportedly became upset when Sanford’s finance was inside his suburban Washington house when she arrived June 27 to drop off their two children, the newspaper reported.
Sanford told police that he asked Kelly to leave after she started ringing the doorbell and banging on the door. He also purportedly gave them a cellphone video of Kelly repeatedly ringing the doorbell, exposing her breasts and “with one breast in each hand [shaking] them up and down,” The Post also reported.Police purportedly also asked Kelly to leave before arresting her in connection with the misdemeanor charges.

Did Voters Elect The Three Stooges?

[From article]
A new world order may be coming, or it may just be a long period of bloody disorder. The only clarity is an unshakable conviction that something fundamental is changing for the worse.
The biggest change is that America, the modern world’s anchor of stability and security, is being roiled by a never-ending loop of turmoil and division. Mankind’s last resort feels unsettled and unreliable, adding to the sense of impending danger.
The lion’s share of the blame belongs to our awful governments, from New York City to Albany to Washington.
I can think of no other period when we simultaneously had such terrible leaders and ineffective lawmakers at all three levels. They seem to feed on each other’s worst instincts, competing to lay claim to the most sweeping changes, no matter the method or impact.
And so we are engulfed in waves of corruption, incompetence and arrogance, trickling up and trickling down, as government smothers society with agenda-driven policies. Just as modern culture often works against parents and families, modern government often works against social harmony and individual liberty.
[. . .]
Obama’s foreign policy is beyond broken — it is a major contributor to the unfolding global catastrophe. Thanks to his failed leadership, Iran, the world’s largest sponsor of terrorism, will get a nuclear bomb, an event that will throw open the gates to hell.
The Syrian civil war, which he pledged to stop, has killed 230,000 people and displaced 7.6 million. It helped to birth the Islamic State, the most ruthless and successful terrorist army the world has ever known. That’s Obama’s legacy.
[. . .]
The governor, like the president, took office promising to change the culture of the capital. But either he was telling a whopper, or lost his way.
In his fifth year, Albany remains the most corrupt state capital in America, and Cuomo himself is now regarded by a majority of New Yorkers as being part of the problem instead of the solution.
[. . .]
The perfect summation of [De Blasio's] hypocrisy is that Mr. Income Inequality lives at Gracie Mansion on the public dime, while leasing out his two homes in tony Brooklyn for about $5,000 a month — each! Affordable housing for me, but not for thee.

Cambridge, MA Residents Lament Rudeness Toward City Councilors

In the post constitutional age of the Obama-Holder doctrine (inconvenient laws may be ignored by selected persons, i.e., members of the liberal elite), it is ridiculous to expect any Massachusetts government agency to follow rules, laws, regulations, or constitutions. The Cambridge City Council thrived extremely well without being bogged down with their own rules, no less other foolishness, thank you very much. The letter writers-activists expect civility and respect by councilors when making "decisions that will benefit all Cambridge residents." It is mostly impossible for decisions to benefit all residents. Isn't it better to have good intentions? George Bernard Shaw observed, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." Isn't that where the city is headed anyway?

Obama Supporter Recognizes White House Violates Oath of Office

Clearly the President and the Attorney General violated their Oaths of Office regularly. But they are not the only ones. It is a pervasive exercise showing contempt for the Constitution by an alarming number of elected and appointed officials. If only there were penalties for violation of the oath. In modern post Constitutional America, only the little people need to obey the laws.

[comment from]

The liberals are the modern day version of the old Bolsheviks, just as the famed Jon Gruber divined.
The Bolsheviks believed that they were an elite chosen by history to implement the will of the masses. Only the politically conscious avant-garde could divine the true interests of the people.
And the liberals or progressives entertain the very same illusion about themselves !!!

[From article]
At the Attorney General Nomination Hearing for Loretta Lynch, George Washington University Law School professor and nationally recognized legal scholar Jonathan Turley, scathingly rebuked actions taken by President Obama and current Attorney General Eric Holder, saying that the "Justice Department is at the epicenter of a constitutional crisis.”
[. . .]
said Turley. “As my academic writings indicate, I have been concerned about the erosion of the lines of separation of powers for many years, and particularly the erosion of legislative authority, of this body, and of the House of Representatives.”
[. . .]
“As discussed in my written testimony, the Framers focused on one defining single danger in our system, and that is the aggrandizement of power in any one branch or in anyone’s hands,” explained Turley. “They sought to deny every branch the power to govern alone.”
“Our system requires consent and compromise,” said Turley. “It goes without saying that when we are politically divided as a nation, as we are today, less things get done, but that division is no license to go it alone as the president has suggested.”
“You have only two choices in the Madisonian system,” explained Turley. “You can either seek to convince your adversaries, or you can seek to replace them.”
“You don’t get to go it alone, and there is nothing noble about circumventing the United States Congress, because it means you are circumventing the United States Constitution,” said Turley,
[. . .]
“The separation of powers,” explained Turley, “is designed to protect liberty from the concentration of power.”
[. . .]
Although the President has insisted that he is merely exercising executive discretion, any such discretion by definition can only occur within the scope of granted authority and only to the extent that it is not curtailed by the language of the Constitution. This includes his obligation to faithfully execute the law. U.S. Const. art. II, § 3, cl. 4. Some of the President’s actions can be viewed as within permissible lines of discretion. However, many of his actions cannot and are violations of his oath of office. That oath is not merely an affirmative pledge to defend the Constitution but to yield to its limitations on his own authority.

How To Get The Attention of Elected Officials

We Vote

[From article]
Using a combination of programming wizardry and personal experience gained from navigating the legislative process, these men have constructed the “We Vote Project.” It is a game-changer in every sense of the phrase.
Here’s the short version: money and influence crowd out citizen involvement. Letters, phone calls, and e-mails to representatives are often counted rather than read. Unless you bring a large constituency with you, your ideas or opinions are of little to no interest to your elected leaders. Right or wrong, this is simply how the system has evolved to deal with digitally enabled increases in communication.
Likewise, following legislation is time-consuming and nightmarish for the average voter. The process is maddening, made all the more difficult by a phalanx of lobbyists, staffers, and “stakeholders” who muddy the water to hide their agendas. Not to mention the public hearings, almost exclusively scheduled during the working hours of us normal folk who can’t afford to miss out on the pay.
Compounding the problem is a gatekeeping media, who routinely limit the scope of discussion by determining what gets coverage, while increasingly pushing an agenda of their own.
The We Vote Project shatters these barriers. Indeed, it obliterates them.
From their website:
We provide timely access to information on legislation in state legislatures (as well as nationally) and provide a verified way for citizens to express their opinions on an issue with their representative.
[. . .]
A congressman, senator, or even city councilperson remains utterly unmoved by vast numbers of calls, letters, or e-mails, knowing that the likelihood that these communications are genuine and organic from his district is quite remote.
[. . .]
The We Vote Project is to politics what the internet has been to funny cat videos. Prepare to be dazzled by the mind-baby of a few Nebraska guys who decided that politics is a wheel that needed reinvention.

Hands Up Propaganda Campaign Adopted By Congressional Black Caucus, St. Louis Rams

Five St. Louis Rams Football players entered the field and stood with their hands up in solidarity with the national propaganda campaign.

My life over the past 44 years was a similar propaganda campaign of character assassination. Most of the people I know, knew and met believe one or more elements of the slander broadcast relentlessly in mostly three states. Currently while uncovering some of the lies, local police employ psychologists for harassment and provocations in order to justify their 20-40 years of criminal abuse of power. It is an example of how misguided government priorities are. They divert public safety resources from addressing known violent criminals employing police trying to provoke violence from law abiding civilians. It is a disgusting abuse and shows an absence of shame by government criminals.

Hands up, don’t shoot. It’s a rallying cry of people all across America who are fed up with police violence,” Rep. Jeffries added that people are fed up with injustice, a broken criminal justice system and “continuing to see young, unarmed African-American men killed as a result of a gunshot fired by a law enforcement officer.”

Northeast Loses Political Power Due To Population Loss

[From article]
While the states from Pennsylvania to Maine had 141 House members in 1950, they are down to 85 today, a drop of some 40 percent.
California and Texas combined have more House representatives..
“This result is one of the most dramatic demographic shifts in American history. This migration is shifting the power center of America right before our very eyes. The movement isn’t random or even about weather or resources. Economic freedom is the magnet and states ignore this force at their own peril,” said the report.

Former NY Assemblywoman Sentenced To One Year in Jail For Immigration Fraud

Rosa (second from left) in tears after her sentencing
Photo: Stefan Jeremiah
[From article]
A former Washington Heights assemblywoman was sentenced to a year in jail Friday for participating in a sham marriage that allowed her to become a US citizen.
Manhattan federal Judge Denise Cote scolded a sobbing Gabriela Rosa — the first Dominican-born woman ever to be elected to the state Assembly — as she issued the jail sentence, saying she didn’t buy Rosa’s claims of breaking the law to follow “the American dream.”
Cote also said Rosa’s actions are “really a disservice to all the immigrants who actually try to follow the law and gain citizenship.”
[. . .]
Rosa paid $8,000 in 1996 to a US citizen to engage in the fraudulent nuptials while she maintained a romantic relationship with another man. She claimed the sham marriage was out of “desperation” to not be separated from the man she really loved, Victor Estrella.
The feds say Estrella, a convicted drug dealer and a fellow Dominican native, wasn’t a US citizen at that time.
Rosa and Estrella are now married and share a son.
Rosa also pleaded guilty in June to making false statements in a 2009 personal-bankruptcy filing. She failed to include Estrella’s earning and omitted her ownership of a co-op apartment.

Republican NY State Official Charged With Lying to the FBI

[From article]
The indictment accuses Libous of making a deal in 2006 with a White Plains law firm to hire his son in exchange for steering business to the firm, which was not named.
“Among other things, the grand jury and FBI and IRS were investigating whether Libous told a partner of law Firm 1 that the firm would have to `build a new wing’ to accommodate the business it would receive if it hired his son,” the indictment states.
Authorities charged that Libous arranged for a lobbyist to reimburse the law firm $50,000 to help offset his son’s salary. The lobbying firm was identified by the Albany Times-Union as Ostroff, Hiffa & Associates.
Libous also secured a Range Rover for his son as part of the deal, the indictment states.

Sounds just like what is needed. He will fit right in with the others at the State House. Term Limits? Information Limits!

Paul Heroux says, "if we’re not getting what we want, we need to pay more attention to who we want." He does not discuss the aides to elected officials who often make policy decisions and do research which may restrict what the officials read. Further journalists no longer focus on keeping readers informed. They focus on promoting their own political interests.
