Donald Trump Helped Save New York City

Wollman Rink, Central Park, New York City

[From article]
Whatever you think about his political views or crazy campaign, Trump doesn’t get enough credit for being a transformative planner who is in love with the city.
No matter how many times they watch “Taxi Driver,” younger New Yorkers and older ones who arrived recently have no idea of what the city was actually like in the mid-1970s through the mid-’90s. Notwithstanding Studio 54 and a short-lived Wall Street boom, the metropolis was reeling. Rampant street crime, AIDS, corporate flight and physical decay brought confidence to an all-time low.
Trump waded into a landscape of empty Fifth Avenue storefronts, the dust-bowl mugging ground that was Central Park and a Wall Street area seemingly on its last legs as companies moved out.
[. . .]
Trump himself is largely to blame for being a prophet without honor in his home city. He grew weary of the risky, time-consuming development grind and started selling his name to just about any developer willing to sign a check. The result was horrible projects like the Trump Soho Hotel which he neither built nor owns.
His disastrous foray into Atlantic City casinos — Why, Donald? — his tacky promotion of China-made shirts and ties among other goofy ventures further cheapened his name.

Two men have been charged with murder in the shooting of a woman at a Burlington hotel.
Just before 12:30 a.m. Thursday, Burlington police received a 911 call from the front desk of the Extended Stay America hotel near the Burlington Mall. Guests reported hearing a woman's screams, and what sounded like gunshots inside the hotel, according to the Middlesex district attorney's office.
Officers arrived at the hotel and conducted a room-to-room search, ultimately finding 34-year-old Sanisha Johnson of Brooklyn dead in guest room 118. She suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.
Both 24-year-old Epshod Jeune of Burlington and 21-year-old Derrell Fisher of Roxbury were charged with murder, attempted armed robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Homeless New York Man Beats Hotels, Restaurants For Thousands of Dollars

Isa Bako

[From article]
A homeless man conned his way into weeklong stays at two Manhattan hotels — including the Algonquin — sleeping in luxury and feasting on cuisine from Tao restaurant, law enforcement sources told The Post.
Isa Bako, 33 — a broke celebrity-hanger-on and former model whose goal was to put on a fashion show featuring his hats on naked models — first pampered himself for eight days at the Courtyard Marriott on West 37th Street, sources said.
He racked up more than $2,000 in bills at the hotel — including for food deliveries from upscale Tao — using stolen credit card information, authorities say.
The drifter moved to The Algonquin Hotel on West 44th Street, where he allegedly spent five days using credit card info swiped from another victim, a 49-year-old Dallas businessman.
[. . .]
Bako was hit with identity theft charges and remains at Rikers Island on $30,000 bail. His next Manhattan Criminal Court hearing is set for March 3.
He is accused of committing the fraud between Oct. 24, 2013, and Nov. 7, 2013, sources said.
His lawyer, Brian Kennedy, declined to comment.
The Wisconsin-born Bako claims a pal from Nigeria, where his parents are from, gave him the credit card information, sources said.

Motel Refuses To Allow Service Dog For Child Onto Premises

[From article]
As a courtesy, the family always calls ahead when staying in hotels to let the staff know a service dog will be traveling with them.
Ms Vaughn said that after alerting the Best Western in Baton Rouge, she was told the hotel could no longer honor her booking.
'We got an email saying due to unforeseen circumstances, they will not be able to honor our reservations,' she said.
A reception later told WAFB that although she is aware of the law, the staff were unable to go against what the hotel owner had ruled.
Best Western's corporate office has since reached out to Ms Vaughn, and offered to let her family stay at the hotel - but she declined their offer.
'I've already booked with another hotel that's understanding and happy to follow the law. I don't want to go to a hotel where I have to force them to follow the law,' she said.

Taxpayer Funded Hotels For Illegal Immigrants

Standard Room at the El Paso Hilton

Indicates more Obama-Holder-Reid misguided priorities. Homeless veterans live in streets and at shelters while illegal immigrants get taxpayer funded hotel rooms. In Cambridge MA,  where idiocracy rules, Cambridge city police, and Harvard University campus police employees take turns harassing a law abiding 70-year-old white male citizen. They use primarily man-hating feminists and lesbians, black racists and homosexuals employed as psychologists at Harvard University medical school. They use vulnerable civilians for medical research without consent contrary to US laws. Are Kennedy School of Government experts where Obama-Holder get their ideas from?

Hotel Business After Civil Rights Complaint

[From article]

"The couple saw their Liverpool business brought to its knees after an investigation into what was deemed a religiously aggravated hate crime against Ericka Tazi. The 60-year-old white British convert complained that the couple had called the prophet Mohammed a 'warlord' and told her that Muslim women were oppressed.

The case against them was thrown out after a judge at Liverpool magistrates' court said it flew in the face of their right to freedom of religious expression."
