NY Attorney General Scrutinizes Herbal Supplements

[From article]
An ongoing investigation of popular herbal supplements subjected to DNA testing has found numerous store brand supplements aren't what their labels claim to be, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said Tuesday.
Schneiderman's office has sent letters to GNC, Target, Wal-Mart and Walgreen Co. concerning supplements that either couldn't be verified to contain the labeled substance or that contained ingredients not listed on the label. The products include Echinacea, ginseng, St. John's wort, garlic, ginkgo biloba and saw palmetto.

Eating Fruits And Vegetables Is Really Good For You

[From article]
Eating plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables and whole grains helps prevent people from developing more than one chronic disease, new medical research shows.
The world-first research conducted by the University of Adelaide examined the link between diet and 11 chronic diseases, including anemia, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, diabetes, arthritis, hepatitis, coronary heart disease, asthma, stroke, fracture and cancer.
It found that people who eat a higher amount of fruit are less likely to develop any chronic disease, while a high intake of vegetables helps prevent people with one chronic disease from developing a second.

Eating Healthy

[From article]
"If you eat only the foods he prescribes — mainly fresh salmon, watercress, avocado, blueberries, dark chocolate, and drink lots of green tea — you will prevent inflammation of the body at the cellular level. And since inflammation, he says, is the main cause of wrinkles and skin degeneration, eating these super-foods, along with using his topical creams and supplements, will keep you looking young, well, forever."
