Immigrants Know How To Litter, and Have Smart Phones Too

Immigrants also arrive fully informed of their rights to be free from discrimination too. It seems as if there are those charming, thoughtful public spirited lawyers who travel to Guantanamo and elsewhere preparing immigrants to know their rights. But poor white Americans, persons with disabilities remain free from any exercising of their basic rights and from access to attorneys. It just makes your heart grow warm. Ahem!

[From article]
On my walk to the park this morning, I came upon a huge mess on and around two picnic tables: paper, food, cans, bottles, and (the worst) a broken whisky bottle on the concrete beneath a table. Not just a few pieces, but a million pieces. Shattered.
Something glittered amid the trash: a new Apple iPhone. I brought it home, turned it on, and waited. A few hours later, it rang. A woman said that it was her little brother's phone, and she wanted it back.
I: "Yes, I have no problem with that, but first he needs to go to the park with a dust pan and broom, sweep up the glass, and pick up all the trash."
She: "I don't know where he is. His phone is on my account, so it's my property."
[. . .]
Since the woman had an unusual name, I looked her upon Facebook. She's from Khartoum, Sudan. A refugee? Christian or Muslim? With friends named Ali, Mohamed, Hassan, and Ibrahim, I'm just guessing she's not Christian. But I could be wrong.
Curious, isn't it, how soon they learn to assert their property rights, but cleaning up a mess is someone else's problem? In Sudan, the way to dispose of trash is to pitch it out the window. If you're feeling extra energetic, you loft the bag into someone else's yard. Or am I thinking of some other country?
These are the people who come here as "an act of love" (Jeb Bush), who will revitalize the German workforce and offset Germans' low birth rate (Angela Merkel).

Dangerous Dehumanizing Of Fetuses By Planned Parenthood

[From article]
Various news sources, depending on their editorial stance toward abortion, depict aborted fetuses as providing promising avenues for research. Other news sources downplay the value of human fetuses for medical research. This dichotomy indicates that aborted fetuses' value to medical research is not a slam dunk. If aborted fetuses were inarguably necessary for a medical breakthrough that could save millions of lives, Planned Parenthood would have said so by now.
[. . .]
In the public debate which has ensued in the wake of the Planned Parenthood videos, an interesting rhetorical flourish has appeared. In at least two high-profile responses to the Planned Parenthood videos, pro-abortion voices have referred to aborted human fetuses as "garbage."
[. . .]
"Planned Parenthood allows women," Watson says, "to aid in the research and treatment of conditions like H.I.V. and Parkinson’s disease, when instead those women could just be throwing that tissue in the garbage!"
[. . .]
Author Amanda Marcotte writes, "Ask your conservative relative if he would prefer the fetal tissue to be thrown in the trash, since that is the only alternative." Of course, throwing a fetus in the trash is not the only alternative to exploiting it for medical research; gestating that fetus and allowing it to grow and be born is the alternative.
[. . .]
Joseph Goebbels, Minister of Propaganda, one of the most powerful men in the Third Reich, had to labor long and hard to convince Germans that they could murder Jews, Gypsies, Poles, and others with impunity. Germans were wracked by mass murder. Einsatzgruppen, who shot their victims at close range, complained. This personal method of murder gave way to impersonal death by gas.Nazis tortured their victims for a variety of reasons, but one reason was to convince themselves that their victims were not worthy of the regard that a human being commands.
[. . .]
A medical professional has been taught -- one might say brainwashed -- to regard desecration and exploitation of a human corpse as "fun." How? By telling her that it's for medical research.
[. . .]
One can't help but notice, though, that handling human fetuses as if they are garbage has played a role in teaching some that human fetuses are indeed garbage, and that they could never be anything else.

Toddler Removed From Filthy Newburyport, MA Home

Example of what it was like

[From article]
The kitchen counters and floors were covered with trash and filthy clothes, police said, and animal
feces were scattered throughout the house. Despite the fly strips hanging from the light fixtures, police said, the home was infested with insects and access to some of the rooms was completely blocked by piles of clothing, trash and furniture.
“We are just glad right now that the baby isn’t living in there anymore,” Hardy said. “It’s shocking.”
Police said safety conditions inside were “extremely dangerous even for the most fit and able person” and there was only one way in and out, through a rear door. All of the other doors and windows were inaccessible, police said.

Non Emergency Health Hazard At Harvard University

Harvard University Housing employs a contractor who brings empty dumpsters for residents at 85-95 Prescott Street in which to place their trash. After the first snowstorm on January 26-27, 2015 and before the second snowstorm on February 2, 2015, the trash hauler brought a new style dumpster, or it was a new trash hauler. In any case this new type dumpster has a side door that does not open.

After the snowstorm too much snow accumulated making it difficult if not impossible to open the top door. Residents began placing their trash alongside the dumpster providing food for raccoons, rodents, squirrels and birds during this period of extreme cold. Though this is a health hazard it is not an emergency. In keeping with the Housing division email on February 2, 2015 it will wait until after the snows end.

These images were captured at about 3:30 PM on Tuesday February 3, 2015 the day after the second snowstorm.
