Listen to this NPR podcast. They are so proud of it that they re-posted it:
Meet a single mother who makes $16,000 a year and managed to fund a vacation at a Caribbean resort with an interest-free loan from one of the world's largest banks.
The report goes on: an abusive husband; her kid tells how much fun he had playing with dolphins at that resort. Meanwhile, pretty much all her expenses – child care, medical care, food, air conditioning, etc. – are taken care of by the government.
And she thanks God! (How about thanking American taxpayers?)
She declares she has never taken welfare! (She does not consider any of the above “welfare” even though our taxes pay for it.) And she talks about coming to America in 1997 and then talks about going back to “her country” for a visit and tells the interviewer to go to “my country” and see how life is there.
She also mentions taxpayer money going to pay for nails being done.
Taxpayer-funded NPR has the gall to say she "may be the single most successful and productive beneficiary of government assistance you'll ever meet."

Cambridge Spending Other People's Money Society 2016 Campaign

Politicians enjoy taking credit for the work of others. Taxpayers make it possible for the Spending Other People's Money Society to spend money. Vice Chairman of Cambridge chapter of the SOPMS does not thank taxpayers. He acts as if it was his money to spend. Troubling ideas in his essay include: "universal, high-quality early childhood education for all children." That moves closer to where government bureaucrats rear children. This politician supports more scrutiny by government psychiatrists. He speaks for everyone. How does he know that? Cambridge taxpayers are supporting neighboring cities and towns? 

The Vice Mayor  mentions "homelessness and [the] opioid crisis." How much money is spent on studies, plans, and providing blankets rather than homes to these people? What about the tsunami of illegal drugs across the open southern border? Who are the "we?" What is "socially just?" Who is included in "one another?" and "all our residents?" Some Cambridge citizens  remain outside the interests of this globally concerned politician, who boasts of how he spends US, MA and Cambridge taxpayer funds. No mention of billion dollar online businesses making money from civilian messages and searches. No mention of weak security for online medical records. Why does clueless government fail to protect citizens from harm?

I personally am excited to see is the $1.3 million that will go toward moving Cambridge closer to affordable, universal, high-quality early childhood education for all children.

There isn’t a person in our city administration who doesn’t understand and isn’t committed to finding ways to maintain affordable housing in Cambridge, and we will continue to direct funds to try and stabilize an ever-increasing housing market that is leading to higher rent and home ownership prices, not just in Cambridge but in the entire Metro Boston area.

Fund Raising Lobbyist Appointed To Seek Money For Taxpayer Funded Public Library

Yes. Yes. Just what is needed, a fund raising lobbyist bureaucracy for a taxpayer funded public library. How could so many highly educated academic wannabes not recognize this essential need for so many years? Does somebody need a job? Will Susan Hartnett be required to register as a municipal lobbyist when the city council makes it mandatory? Will increased patron services include foot massages? Will food tasters offer chewing for patrons whose teeth are painful? Where will all of this increased government end? When there are no more private citizens and everyone works for and is owned by government?

Like almost all other Massachusetts public university and college leaders, Keith Motley is entitled to a housing allowance or house, a car, and free tuition for himself and his family members, and can cash in all of his unused vacation days and 20 percent of any unused sick days on retirement.
If the University of Massachusetts Boston chancellor leaves his job, he’d still be eligible for a one-year sabbatical at his full annual salary of $355,059. Then he’s guaranteed a position on the faculty, if he wants one, at a minimum of $280,000 a year. If Motley were to be fired without cause? The university would have to pay him up to one year’s wages.
"That sounds absolutely ridiculous," said Daniel Baxter, a sophomore from Somerville majoring in information technology at UMass. "For doing nothing for a year? That’s insane in any industry."

These benefits are common on American campuses. More than 60 percent of presidents at public and private colleges get all or part of their housing provided, for example, and 75 percent get cars or car allowances, according to the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources. In Massachusetts, almost all of them get both.

Equality Advocates Protest Unlawful Misuse of Taxpayer Funds Favoring Black Students

The $20 million fund unveiled by a top California university last month to endow scholarships for African-American students and to hire diverse faculty is just the latest attempt to get around a state law barring schools from using racial preferences in admissions, according to critics, who are vowing yet another legal battle.



University of California-Berkeley's "African-American Initiative" would raise funds from private non-profits to fund “a comprehensive effort to address the underrepresentation of African-American students, faculty and staff at our university, and improve the climate for those who are here now and all who will join our community in the future.” The money would go to scholarships for black students, the hiring of race-specific clinical psychologists and fostering a more diverse faculty and senior management, according to the school.

But critics say the scholarship fund is an end-run around Proposition 209, the 1996 law barring state institutions from considering race, sex, or ethnicity for public employment, contracting and education. Ward Connerly, a conservative African-American who served on the University of California Board of Regents from 1993-2005 and is considered one of the architects of Prop 209, said the initiative appears to be illegal.
“The University of California, especially Berkeley and UCLA, have long tried to circumvent the law when it comes to this,” Connerly told FoxNews.com. “We are a nation of laws and Berkeley is not above them. The school has no right to avoid the law by developing initiatives such as this.”
Prop 209's backers claim it was modeled after the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which barred race as a factor in an effort to protect African-Americans from discrimination. By using similar language more than three decades later, the measure's proponents sought to stop racial preferences. University of California schools have seen higher graduation rates among minority students since Prop 209 took effect, with the Berkeley campus alone seeing a 6.5-percent increase in graduating students. But despite the rise in graduation rates, raw enrollment rates among African-Americans has dropped.

While private scholarships can legally use race as a consideration, Cal-Berkeley's involvement in creating and administering the endowment could be viewed as violating the law's intent, according to [Ward] Connerly.
“I intend to ask the Pacific Legal Foundation to take a look and if there’s any wrongdoing found, we will sue,” he said. “If we allow them to disregard the law, then they will try to do more and more.”
Gail Heriot, University of San Diego law professor and expert on Prop 209, told The College Fix the scheme does appear to violate the law.
“If the initiative is as described in the university’s announcement, it is a straightforward violation of Proposition 209,” Heriot said.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and his wife put taxpayers on the hook for nearly $17,000 in airfare on a single trade mission to Israel, part of an often lavish worldwide tour funded by a tucked-away trust the Patrick administration never revealed to the public, new records obtained by the Herald reveal.
State records tracking the trade mission costs also showed Deval and Diane Patrick took a three-day trip to Colombia in 2013 on the taxpayer dime, ringing up a $8,342 bill for flights that far exceeded what other state officials paid.
Patrick’s airfare on other overseas junkets sometimes tripled that of his traveling contingent, such as a round-trip flight to Ireland reported in state records as costing $5,751. The former governor also racked up a $2,400 tab for a three-day stay at the five-star Merrion Hotel, which bills itself as the most “luxurious” hotel in the city, according to records.
Patrick saved the most expensive flight bill for his last trade mission — $12,356 for just a five-day trade mission to France, Denmark and England, according to records compiled by the state’s Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development, which oversaw the travel trust fund.
The records also list a one-way flight from Hong Kong to Singapore under Patrick’s name costing a hefty $1,640.
One of Patrick’s traveling companions on several trips was Richard Davey, former Department of Transportation chief and current CEO of the Boston 2024 Olympic bid.

The former governor’s 10 international trade missions have come under new scrutiny by government watchdogs and lawmakers since the Herald first reported that the Patrick administration funneled $27 million from state quasi-public government agencies into trust funds kept separate from budgetary constraints and hidden from public scrutiny.
The Herald first reported that one of the trusts, funded by Massport and the Mass Tech Collaborative, paid for the $1.4 million trade mission costs from 2009 to 2014.
A former Patrick administration aide, Alec Loftus, said the trips were well worth the cost, citing new international flights that the former governor pushed for in the countries he visited.

The $21,141 hotel bill for the Colombia trip was simply charged to a “state credit card,” according to records.
But it’s clear that the former governor and his aides traveled in style. In Tel Aviv, Patrick bedded down at the InterContinental and was charged $1,005, while the room for Richard Elam, the former executive director of the international trade office, cost $1,550, according to records.

Human services industry professionals, the psychiatric industry supported by the pharmaceutical industry will continue earning taxpayer money while persons without homes, remain homeless. An example of the public policy priorities. Corporations and professionals earn taxpayer funds treating vulnerable persons who remain vulnerable and subject to treatment using taxpayer funds. Mayor Bill de Blasio admitted Thursday he has “real concern” about the homeless people taking over the city’s streets.
“I think it’s a real concern and I share the concern of my constituents who have said to me they’re worried that there are homeless people on the streets,” he said at an event in Brooklyn.
His comments come after The Post revealed how more vagrants are setting up shop in neighborhoods all over the city — including the Upper West Side.
But de Blasio denied that the problem stems from an actual rise in homelessness.
“The actual numbers, thank God, suggest that the reality is a little different — that the actual number of street homeless has gone down a bit,” he said. “But that doesn’t make it any less of a problem for so many people.”
The city’s first lady is planning to unveil a “very bold plan” that will change how New York handles mental health problems, de Blasio said.
“Let’s face it, a lot of our street homeless have very serious mental health issues and substance abuse issues and we intend to treat this situation very differently,” he said.

Public Sector Unions Force Members to Pay Dues, Use Taxpayer Funds for Political Purposes

America’s four largest labor unions spent more than $179 million last year promoting big government, and did so using taxpayer money.
Public-sector unions were crucial to the passage of Obamacare, and in 2014 they helped push progressive priorities including minimum-wage hikes and amnesty for illegal immigrants.
It’s widely known the National Education Association, Service Employees International Union, American Federation of Teachers and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees are among the country’s top campaign donors.
Not content to fund politicians who will advance their agenda, NEA, SEIU, AFT and AFSCME also bankroll dozens of think tanks and activist groups fighting for bigger government in the name of “social justice.”

F. Vincent Vernuccio, labor policy director at the free-market Mackinac Center for Public Policy, [. . ] said public-sector union funding of politicians and advocacy groups yields more taxpayer money for public-sector unions to spend on politicians and advocacy groups.
“This cycle goes on and on, and everyone is happy … everyone except for the taxpayer, who at the end of the day is stuck footing the bill,” he said.
Public-sector unions’ political spending is a disservice to the 40 percent of union members who vote Republican, Vernuccio said.

Combined, the four unions take dues from the paychecks of roughly 7 million teachers and government workers. Through payroll dues deduction, public agencies redirect public funds to NEA, SEIU, AFT and AFSCME at taxpayer expense.
In 21 states, teachers and other public employees who decline union membership can be forced to pay union “agency fees” in order to have a job.
Based on the unions’ annual reports to the U.S. Department of Labor, last year AFSCME spent $65 million on campaign contributions, lobbying and political advocacy ,while SEIU spent $52 million, NEA spent $35 million and AFT spent $27 million.

Just 55 years old, Cabral is arguing that her 23 years in public safety, first as an assistant district attorney and later as Suffolk County sheriff, qualify her under a so-called Category 4 classification intended for law enforcement officers who risk their lives in the line of duty, according to papers she filed with retirement officials last month.
The classification would essentially allow Cabral — who made $160,000 last year as the state’s secretary for public safety — to collect a maximum benefit typically reserved for state workers who wait until they’re 65 to retire.
Using the state formula for calculating pensions, Cabral could be due at least $58,000 a year in retirement benefits, factoring in her nearly 28 total years of service, her age and the $140,400 average of her three highest-salaried years.
But if retirement officials allow her to qualify under the Category 4 classification for the majority of her time in state government, Cabral’s pension could jump to roughly $91,000, a Herald analysis found.
The state retirement board is expected to take up Cabral’s case tomorrow at its monthly meeting, according to state Treasurer Deb Goldberg’s office, which oversees the panel. But Matt Sheaff, a Goldberg spokesman, said it was too early to calculate exactly what Cabral’s pension would be.

Cabral has already cashed in other taxpayer-funded benefits. The Herald reported Sunday that she scored a $33,725 payout upon leaving office, including $20,242 in leftover vacation time and another $13,483 in unused sick time.
Two years ago, Cabral also hit up the taxpayers for $11,847 in unused vacation time as Suffolk County sheriff when former Gov. Deval Patrick appointed her public safety secretary, even though she hadn’t accrued paid time off as an elected official.
Suffolk sheriff officials admitted Cabral’s vacation time was never documented but calculated the payout based on her “20-plus years of service in the state system.”

Just 26 percent of voters participated in the 2013 general election, the lowest figure in 50 years. More people voted for Rudolph Giuliani’s losing bid for office in 1989, the first election with matching funds, than for Bill de Blasio’s winning one in 2013, even as New York City’s population grew by more than 1 million

To date, the only mechanism that ensures turnover in city offices is term limits, which went into effect in 2001.

Even more discouragingly for campaign-finance proponents, public financing has done little or nothing to curb corruption in city government. Many participants in the matching-funds program have been implicated in one scandal or another. Public financing has even been the source of corruption.

One thing is for certain: state campaign-finance reform would mean bigger government, in the form of more regulation enforced by an expanded bureaucracy.

Ultimately, though, Albany needs a change of culture. “The quality of people in politics was a hell of a lot higher years ago,” says former lieutenant governor Richard Ravitch. “The problem is that no good people want to run for office.” Ravitch is right. Government policy alone can’t solve the problem of public corruption.

Mann’s hockey stick, like Gruber’s Obamacare schtick, was used for purposes of influencing public policy.  In the public policy arena, even false information merits First Amendment protections.  The cure for false policy information in our republic is the truth.
For his Obamacare consultations with the feds and various states, Gruber has pocketed nearly $6 million per at least one account.

Underlying Torrey's arguments is the false premise that mental illness causes crime. There is no causal connection between made up illnesses with no pathology and crime. The decision where to incarcerate persons charged with crime and/or convicted is with the judge. It should not be in the hands of psychiatrists who remain clueless about due process protections and individual rights. Psychiatry is a means of social control with no due process protections, personal opinion masquerading as science. Psychiatrists believe their genes have been cleansed of mendacity, greed and sadism. They claim omniscience and moral superiority. Emotions, protected speech and behavior becomes mental illness requiring loss of freedom. Torrey is especially offensive advocating forced drug treatment. He says mental illness causes homelessness. More likely homelessness causes eccentric speech and behavior. Besides Torrey's propaganda promoting taxpayer funded forced drug treatment, when will psychiatric critics be given space to counter this propaganda, e.g., Peter Breggin, Fred Baughman, Robert Whitaker.

Police had arrested him 14 months earlier for cutting down three wooden power poles with a chainsaw, terminating power to 6,800 homes in suburban Buffalo in the dead of winter. Like most individuals with chronic paranoid schizophrenia, he doubtless had a logical (in his mind) reason for his actions: perhaps his voices told him that cutting off power would prevent a tsunami from Lake Erie from sweeping over Buffalo.

Andrea Logan’s possessions have been locked up — at taxpayer expense — since she lost her Upper East Side apartment in 2006 after a debilitating stroke, court records reveal.
And the city has picked up the tab, following a state law that requires it to cover storage expenses for homeless people.
Logan, 54, had jammed 11 storage units full of belongings in the years after her stroke, and officials didn’t notice the huge tab until it reached $3,585 a month last year.
That’s more than enough to score a one-bedroom duplex in Greenwich Village with a fireplace and roof deck, or a newly renovated, two-bedroom pad on the Upper East Side.

But taxpayers are still footing the bill for her belongings. State law mandates that the city pay for storing furniture and personal belongings for homeless people “so long as eligibility for public assistance continues and so long as the circumstances necessitating the storage continue to exist.”
In the years since Logan became homeless, the cost to taxpayers for providing such storage to homeless people has soared from a total $6.8 million in fiscal year 2006 to $14.6 million in fiscal year 2014.

Taxpayer Funded Defense Attorneys Neglect the Interests of Their Clients

For at least 20 years I've written and spoken to journalists, radio, TV and print; prosecutors, police and others regarding the offensiveness of revealing medical records of persons accused of psychiatric fantasies. The daily reports of those records was reduced somewhat. But in this case it is the defense attorney who revealed those records in violation of state and U.S. privacy statutes. I called to the Committee For Public Counsel Services, which is defending the suspect. I left voice mail messages for Shannon Lopez, the attorney who reportedly revealed the records in court; Lisa Hewitt (unknown position); John Hayes, Attorney In Charge, Suffolk County Superior Court Trials Unit; and Vanessa Velez, Attorney In Charge, Boston District Court. I also left a message with the secretary to Anthony J. Benedetti, Chief Counsel on Thursday October 16, 2014. None of them returned my call. It shows that although this taxpayer funded law firm claims it trains its attorneys to protect the interests of its clients here is evidence of abuse and neglect. What adds to the problem, is that journalists simply repeat what they hear in court. They appear to be mindless stenographers taking notes with no critical thought ability. The long term effect of this long term abuse is that the public at large joins police, prosecutors, politicians believing that all persons accused of psychiatric fantasies are dangerous and violent. It is thoroughly amazing how pervasive those misguided beliefs are. The criminal justice system was corrupted by psychiatry, making criminals less likely to be held accountable for their violence and crime.

"We have been aware of the unaccompanied children issue for quite a while, and we were able to absorb a lot of these children early on," said Lynn Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy. "But now it's gotten to the point where the school system is overwhelmed, our health department is overwhelmed, the city's budget is being sustainably altered in order of accommodate all of these admissions in the school department."



Flanagan Kennedy says the first contact for immigrant arrivals in the city is the school system.
The amount of new foreign born student admissions has nearly doubled in the last two years. This school year alone saw more than 600 new admissions. Among those students, 248 were from Guatemala. Flanagan Kennedy says of those 248 children, 126 were illegal, undocumented minors.

Unlawful Use of Taxpayer Funds

The announcement of annual free self defense training for women only is shameless overt unlawful discrimination against men by the City of Cambridge, using taxpayer money. (no byline, "Cambridge Police to offer free self-defense courses for women," May 10, 2014, Cambridge Chronicle) The passive population is expected to believe that women are the only victims of violent street attacks. But also that men are capable of fighting off their attackers in this age of gangs of black youth attacking individual white civilians. This is dangerous public policy for the male population, complete nonsense, one of many implemented by misguided city officials.

MA Public Defenders Ready to Help The Rich and the Famous

The priorities of the Committee For Public Counsel Services indicate they do something beyond providing defense counsel to indigent defendants. Like all bureaucracies the main purpose is to maintain itself and to grow larger. It is curious that when the Cambridge police were hired to arrest me on behalf of a local crime family, the CPCS provided a charming young lady who provided no counsel and laughed at me when I was being questioned. It shows that even among the allegedly public spirited (taxpayer funded) CPCS lawyers, they pick and choose who to help and who to let the government do what it wants to do. 



During that masterpiece of a police frame-up seven lawyers were paid to not put on any defense. One judge threatened that if I testified about what the police did to me, he would stop the trial and have me put into a hospital. Another judge refused to appoint any legitimate defense attorney and forced me to represent myself. So much for paying lawyers with taxpayer funds. 



Why not let defendants appear by themselves. At least they may get a hearing instead of being framed by lawyers and police. The incident occurred five years before Judge Wolf exposed the James Bulger FBI informant abuses, up to 60 homicides protected by the FBI. 17 years later Bulger is finally on trial and gets better representation than I ever did. The Boston FBI used the MA state courts to put four white men (Peter Limone, Joe Salvati, Louis Greco and Henry Tameleo) in prison for a murder they did not commit. This all indicates that the courts are as corrupt as the political system and the legislature in Massachusetts. 



Courts get less scrutiny than the other branches of government and voters remain silent about the pervasive corruption. This goes on openly in a state dominated by education. In state where education is dominated by Harvard University. Five law schools in the Boston area remain silent along with the several government schools, and the many political science departments. What are they teaching in the Massachusetts universities?

False Facts on Foreign Aid, Do Not make Sense

Chatzky gives two reasons in support of foreign aid: "We can help the neediest, both at home and abroad, [and] alleviating poverty is one of the most economically stimulating investments we can make." In their informative book, The Dictator's Handbook, the authors Bruce Bueno Mesquita, and Alastair Smith, explain that foreign aid is used for foreign policy reasons, to hire allies. Taxpayer money is given to dictatorships, which do not share the money with their poor people. The dictators give money to their supporters in order to stay in power and in turn support the interests of the US. Though it sounds nice for low information voters, the truth is much more helpful to understand how the world works and why taxpayer money is given away.
