Central Square Cambridge MA Needs Attention

The same problems exist in Harvard Square as Central Square. Councilor Mazem recognizes that police cannot solve this problem. In her great book, The Death and Life of Great American Cities, Jane Jacobs observed that if you need police the neighborhood is not safe. What makes it safe are the people who live, work and pass through the neighborhood. One reader's comment recognized the transient nature of Cambridge. It was about 25 percent of residents have lived in the city for more than 5 years. In a related item, academic researchers developed a pride pill which instills in humans the desire to clean up whenever they see a public mess. It is only available for purchase using taxpayer funds, and restricted to force feeding to persons without homes, and persons with mental illness. What is it about elections that make politicians see problems they ignored for the rest of their terms?
