Listen How I Do, Not As I Say. I Mean, You Know What I'm Saying?

A dumbed down electorate gets the dumbed down representatives it elects. In his book about the Clintons, Partners in Power, Roger Morris observes that in recent years the preferred candidates are weak with relaxed rectitude. Look around you. It is not complete yet. But most of them are. Not just public officials and not just elected officials. Appointed, corporate and academic leaders too.

[From article]
Congressional approval ratings are at a historic low, and after what has happened over the course of the last twenty four hours – I can see why. On the House floor Wednesday, longtime Democrat Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee made the startling claim that “We did not seek an impeachment of President Bush, because as an executive, he had the authority.”
These are the moments when you say “Really?”
The problem here is that Rep. Lee lied to the American People inside the People’s House. Good thing for her that when you make speeches on the floor of the House of Representatives you are not under oath or under the threat of perjury. Perhaps that should change, but that’s another debate for another day.
Lied? Well back in 2008, Rep. Lee co-sponsored House Resolution 1258 entitled “Impeaching George W. Bush, President of the United States, of high crimes and misdemeanors. “
[. . .]
I was transferred to a gentleman on Lee’s staff. When I again asked him about the contradiction and stated that perhaps I was confused, the man said “Oh look it here, we have one of those right wing, tea-bagger nut jobs on the phone taking his cues from FOX News.”
He then accused me of being un-American, raising his voice at me while asking me to calm down, and telling me that I am just on some mission to destroy our country. When I calmly asked for his name, he said “I don’t have to give it to you because I don’t want to show up on some right wing blog and be on your Twitter account.” Keep in mind, I never said who I was – he just made assumptions and attacked me. When I reminded him that he gets paid by our tax dollars, he said “I doubt you even pay taxes and the IRS will find you soon enough,” and hung up on me.
Was that a threat from Rep. Lee’s staff to use the IRS as a weapon against citizens for just asking questions?
Astounded at what happened, I called back and asked to speak to the Chief of Staff for Congresswoman Lee because I had been treated rudely and threatened. After being transferred, another nice gentleman said “This is the Chief Counsel, you have 15 seconds.”

Cease Fires Cause More Deaths

[From article]
The Middle East must lead the world in cease-fires. If cease-fires were the road to peace, the Middle East would easily be the most peaceful place on the planet.
"Cease-fire" and "negotiations" are magic words to "the international community." But just what do cease-fires actually accomplish?
In the short run, they save some lives. But in the long run they cost far more lives, by lowering the cost of aggression.
At one time, launching a military attack on another nation risked not only retaliation but annihilation. When Carthage attacked Rome, that was the end of Carthage.
[. . .]
If you want to minimize civilian casualties, then minimize the dangers of war, by no longer coming to the rescue of those who start wars.
Israel was attacked, not only by vast numbers of rockets but was also invaded -- underground -- by mazes of tunnels.
[. . .]
Those who say that we can contain a nuclear Iran, as we contained a nuclear Soviet Union, are acting as if they are discussing abstract people in an abstract world. Whatever the Soviets were, they were not suicidal fanatics, ready to see their own cities destroyed in order to destroy ours.
[. . .]
Even if the Israelis were all saints -- and sainthood is not common in any branch of the human race -- the cold fact is that they are far more advanced than their neighbors, and groups that cannot tolerate even subordinate Christian minorities can hardly be expected to tolerate an independent, and more advanced, Jewish state that is a daily rebuke to their egos.

Hamas, Muslims Repeat Historical Pattern Of Justifying Killing Jews

[From article]
In order to justify killing Jews, Jew-haters throughout history made up libels about the Jews that were so awful that they justified, at least for the Jew-hater, the mass murder of Jews. The charge that the Jews of every age -- not just some Jews at one time -- killed God Himself was used by medieval Christians to justify mass murdering of Jews.
Then came another grotesque libel -- what is known as the blood libel. Also prevalent in the Middle Ages, this charged Jews with kidnapping Christian children, sacrificing them and using their blood to bake matzo (the unleavened Passover bread).

Cuban Woman Dissident Petitions Congressional Black Caucus to Stop Assisting Castro

[From article]
On this Perez is very clear: the moves Obama has made since he took office to have a rapprochement with Cuba’s dictators will end as well as the Russian “reset.” “Lifting the embargo would be dreadful for the Cuban people,” as it would legitimize Cuba’s lawless government, warns Perez. Rather than try to lift the embargo, Obama should “be concerned with the plight of the Cuban people, with the opposition. He’s blinded by the regime!”
As Perez described how Cuba’s political police constantly break into her house, beat her, manacle her, “feel all my private parts,” and then throw her into prison for days, I told her that I had recently debated Salem State professor Aviva Chomsky on television and that she had declared that there is no repression in Cuba. She made a face of revulsion:“Tell her to come to the deepest parts of Cuba, so she can see how dissidents are beaten up.”

Propaganda Efforts in Middle East Need Scrutiny

[From article]
Alas, though the world’s largest per-capita recipient of foreign aid, Gaza didn’t become Canada-on-the-Mediterranean. After destroying the greenhouses and violently overthrowing the Palestinian Authority government, Hamas diverted resources and exploited cease-fires to build a vast military infrastructure — amid civilians and even U.N. facilities — from which to terrorize Israelis.
Hamas knows its most lethal weapon is retaliation-caused devastation, which is why its “dead-baby strategy” works. But critics accusing Israel of committing genocide in Gaza are not only libelous — they ignore Hamas’ disproportionate immorality reflected in its eagerness to kill its own citizens, never mind authentic genocides such as Syria’s and Darfur’s.
Consider these moral inequities: Israel uses missile defenses to protect civilians while Hamas uses civilians to protect missiles, war is Israel’s last resort but Hamas’ first, and Israel undertakes unprecedented efforts to forewarn innocents in attack zones while Hamas urges (and often compels) innocents to become propaganda-aiding victims.

Are We Losing The Word Schmuck?????

Can you believe we might lose "SCHMUCK"?

NEW YORK-Saying he could no longer stand idly by while a vital part of American culture is lost forever, activist and Broadway producer Mel Brooks has founded a private nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the word "schmuck."

An emotional Brooks stopped short of kvetching at a schmuck fundraiser Monday.

"Schmuck is dying," a sober Brooks said during a 2,000-person rally held in his hometown of Williamsburg, Brooklyn Monday. "For many of us, saying 'schmuck' is a way of life. Yet when I walk down the street and see people behaving in foolish, pathetic, or otherwise schmucky ways, I hear only the words 'prick' and 'douche bag.' I just shake my head and think, 'I don't want to live in a world like this.'"

The nonprofit, Schmucks For Schmuck, has compiled schmuck-related data from the past 80 years and conducted its own independent research on contemporary "schmuck" usage. According to Brooks, the statistics are frightening: Utterances of the word "schmuck" have declined every year since its peak in 1951, and in 2006, the word was spoken a mere 28 times-17 of these times by Brooks himself. The study indicates that today, when faced with a situation in which one can use a targeted or self-deprecating insult to convey a general feeling of disgust, people are 50 times more likely to use the word "jerk" than "schmuck," 100 times more likely to use "dick," and 15,000 times more likely to use "f******g a**shole."

Perhaps more startling, only 23 percent of men know what schmuck means, and only 1.2 percent of these men are under the age of 78. If such trends continue, Brooks estimates that by 2015, such lesser-used terms as "imbecile," "dummy," "schlub," and "contemptible ne'er-do-well" will all surpass schmuck, which is projected to completely disappear by the year 2020 or whenever Brooks dies.

"We must save this word!" Brooks said to thunderous applause as those in attendance began chanting "Schmuck! Schmuck! Schmuck!" "How will we be able to charmingly describe someone who acts in an inappropriate manner? Especially given the tragic loss of the word 'schmegeggie' in 2001. So I urge you: Tonight, when you get home, please, call up your family, your friends, your loved ones, and tell them they're a bunch of schmucks."

Hundreds turned out at a Boca Raton, FL demonstration to show their support for the dying word.

"I've never told anyone this before," Brooks added, choking back tears, "but my father was a schmuck."

The foundation has already raised more than $20 million, thanks to donations from supporters such as Jackie Mason, Albert Brooks, the Schtupp Institute, Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI), and the Henny Youngman Endowment for the Preservation of Schmekel. The money will go toward projects aimed at reintegrating "schmuck" into the English lexicon, including billboards and flyers plastered with the word "schmuck," the upcoming 5K Schlep for Schmuck Awareness, and a new Mel Brooks film.

"The world cannot afford to lose this valuable and versatile word," Brooks told reporters during a charity auction in Manhattan's Upper West Side Tuesday, where attendees bid for the chance to have a private lunch with Brooks and repeatedly call him a schmuck. "You can be a poor schmuck, a lazy schmuck, a dumb schmuck, or just a plain old schmuck. A group of people can be collectively referred to as schmucks. You can call someone a schmuck, and you can be called a schmuck. You can even call yourself a schmuck." Plus, it's just so fun to say, Brooks added. "Schmuck."

Many of the foundation's volunteers say they share Brooks' passion for the word "schmuck," as well as his outrage that it is slowly disappearing from everyday use. They claim that if they do not act now, the trend could create a snowball effect.

"Today it's schmuck, tomorrow it might be toochis," said SFS volunteer Harry Steinbergman, 82. "What's next, schlemiel? Putz? Schlimazel?"

Steinbergman went on to classify this scenario as farcockteh.

It's scary. In the future, how will someone get my attention?

US Sen. Jeff Sessions and Texas Gov. Rick Perry Speak Out About Illegal Alien Invasion

[From article]
Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) urged his colleagues on Monday to "be counted" and "stand up" to Obama's "lawless actions, and sponsor legislation that will block him" from granting amnesty to millions more illegal immigrants.
He also urged colleagues to "oppose any border supplemental that does" not prevent Obama from using federal money to implement more executive actions on immigration. Simply put, Sessions said, there is "no middle ground" when it comes to Obama's potential nullification of federal immigration laws.
Obama has indicated that he will enact more executive actions and grant work permits--in contravention of federal law--to possibly eight million more illegal immigrants once Congress leaves for its August recess after this week. Sessions has been urging Congress to support bills like Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-TX) that would prevent Obama from granting temporary amnesty to future illegal immigrants.

Obama Asked To Butt Out Of Israeli Defense of Its Nation

Obama did not condemn the use of hospitals and schools by Hamas and encouraging Palestinian civilians to place themselves in danger and be killed as martyrs.

A top Israeli official wants President Barack Obama to stop meddling with the Jewish state during its conflict with Hamas in Gaza.
Speaking to Israel’s Army Radio, Housing and Construction Minister Uri Ariel criticized Obama telling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that there should be an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
“Leave us alone,” Ariel told Army Radio, directing his words at Obama. “Go focus on Syria.”
Obama spoke with Netanyahu Sunday about the rising number of Palestinian deaths in Gaza and the worsening humanitarian crisis.

Israel Increases Attacks

[From article]
Israel on Tuesday unleashed its heaviest bombardment in a 3-week-old war against Hamas, striking symbols of the militant group’s control in Gaza and firing tank shells that Palestinian officials said shut down the strip’s only power plant.
Thick black smoke from the plant’s burning fuel tank rose for hours. The station’s shutdown further disrupted the supply of electricity and water to the 1.7 million people packed into the narrow Palestinian coastal territory.

Murder Conviction Vacated Because Mother of Defendant Could Not Get Seat During Voir Dire

[From article]
The 23-year-old Brooklyn man was tried, convicted and — after the jury found he shot a rival dead at a dice game — sent to prison for 15 years to life. But the state’s highest court overturned the guilty verdict — all because Floyd’s mother couldn’t find a seat in the courtroom during jury selection.
A juror who voted to convict Floyd was shocked to learn of the stunning reversal.
[. . .]
Floyd’s conviction was tossed in an April 25, 2013, decision based on his trial lawyer’s complaint to Brooklyn Supreme Court Judge Michael Gary that Melissa Floyd was forced to wait outside a courtroom that was packed with potential jurors.
“Defense counsel observed, ‘Certainly, as a public spectator, she has an absolute right to be present,’ ” the decision states. “Defendants have a constitutional right to a ‘public trial,’ ” the decision goes on, adding that overcrowding does not justify courtroom closure.
“This violation . . . requires a new trial,” the judges ruled.
On his initial appeal, the Appellate Division had found Gary’s offer to get a seat for Floyd’s mom once some juror candidates had been weeded out was sufficient — and upheld the conviction. But the higher court disagreed.

Updated: NY Republicans Charge Governor Cuomo With Coverup Of Corruption Probe

Gov. Cuomo claimed Monday that his tainted anti-corruption panel — now under scrutiny by federal prosecutors — was an “overwhelming success” and said he shut it to save money for taxpayers.
Emerging publicly for the first time since a scathing exposé last week of his administration’s alleged meddling in the group’s work, Cuomo conceded his aides had input into the operation of the 25-member Moreland Commission panel, but insisted it was never told whom or what to investigate.

Terrorist Tunnels Major Threat To Israel

[From article]
Destroying such tunnels was the stated goal of Israel’s ground invasion of Gaza, which began July 17. But 11 days into the mission, and after Israeli officials say they have found 31 tunnels and destroyed 15, Palestinian militants again penetrated underground into Israel on Monday evening and confronted soldiers in a staging area. Misguided White House Middle East Policy

[From article]
A case can be made for this “kick the can down the road” approach, as I did last week in discussing Kerry’s recent diplomatic negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program and with rival political leaders in Afghanistan. But Gaza has suffered from a generation of brutal expediency. Any deal that reinforces Hamas’s stranglehold — rather than building a path toward change of government, elections and eventual disarmament — is misconceived. In the name of stopping bloodshed this week, it all but guarantees it in the future. That’s why public opinion polls show a strong majority of Gazans back the idea of returning to Palestinian Authority control — because they want an end to the cycle of intermittent warfare.

Al-Qaeda linked terrorists that control swathes of Iraq and Syria have circulated a video compilation of hundreds of graphic executions to mark the Muslim religious festival of Eid.
Accompanied by an explicit threat to Iraqi soldiers , the group formerly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (Isis), showed dozens of young men men cowering in the shadow of gunmen before being brutally slaughtered.
A group of soldiers are led to a desert pit that will soon become a mass grave.
Others are seen standing on a small river jetty before shuffling forward where they are shot in the head and fall into the water. The executions take place in Saddam Hussein's hometown Tikrit.

This young woman was neither intoxicated nor overcome by drugs at the time.”
Murphy has no criminal history, Crowley said. He was arrested during the show, according to Miliote.

Sex Trafficking Bust Saves 168 Children

[From article]
When FBI agents and police officers fanned out across the country last month in a weeklong effort to rescue child sex trafficking victims, they pulled minors as young as 11 from hotel rooms, truck stops and homes.
Among the 168 juveniles recovered was a population that child welfare advocates say especially concerns them: children who were never reported missing in the first place.
Advocates say the roundup reinforces the need for a standardized, nationwide approach to reporting children as missing, especially those absent from state foster care systems who are seen as most vulnerable to abuse.
[. . .]
Though states may have policies encouraging child welfare agencies to report missing children to law enforcement, most don’t have laws requiring that notification, according to the missing children center. That means children can disappear without police knowing they’re missing or being directed to look for them.

European Governments Paying Millions To Terrorists For Kidnap Victims

[From article]
Al Qaeda has secretly collected at least $125 million in kidnapping ransoms from European governments looking to buy back hostages from Africa and the Middle East, a report claimed Tuesday.
The hefty cash payments date back to 2008, including $66 million in the past year alone, according to the New York Times.
Despite official denials, the money comes “almost exclusively” from European governments that funnel it through a network of intermediaries, often disguising it as “development aid,” sources told the Times.
The paper also cited thousands of pages of internal al Qaeda documents that laid out the inner workings of its kidnapping racket.
[. . .]
The scheme has been so successful that while kidnappers demanded about $200,000 per hostage in 2003, that amount has recently ballooned as high as $10 million.
The Times quoted Nasser al-Wuhayshi, leader of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, as saying that ransom money accounts for up to half his operating revenue.

Militant fighters overran a Libyan special forces base in the eastern city of Benghazi on Tuesday after a battle involving rockets and warplanes that killed at least 30 people.
A special forces officer said they had to abandon their main camp in the southeast of Benghazi after coming under sustained attack from a coalition of Islamist fighters and former rebel militias in the city.

Secret Hamas Command Bunker In Basement of Hospital

[From article]
The idea that one of Hamas’ main command bunkers is located beneath Shifa Hospital in Gaza City is one of the worst-kept secrets of the Gaza war. So why aren’t reporters in Gaza ferreting it out? The precise location of a large underground bunker equipped with sophisticated communications equipment and housing some part of the leadership of a major terrorist organization beneath a major hospital would seem to qualify as a world-class scoop—the kind that might merit a Pulitzer, or at least a Polk.
So why isn’t the fact that Hamas uses Shifa Hospital as a command post making headlines? In part, it’s because the location is so un-secret that Hamas regularly meets with reporters there. On July 15, for example, William Booth of the Washington Post wrote that the hospital “has become a de facto headquarters for Hamas leaders, who can be seen in the hallways and offices.” Back in 2006, PBS even aired a documentary showing how gunmen roam the halls of the hospital, intimidate the staff, and deny them access to protected locations within the building—where the camera crew was obviously prohibited from filming. Yet the confirmation that Hamas is using Gaza City’s biggest hospital as its de facto headquarters was made in the last sentence of the eighth paragraph of Booth’s story—which would appear to be the kind of rookie mistake that is known in journalistic parlance as “burying the lede.”
[. . .]
he’s an experienced foreign reporter, which means that he buried the lede on purpose.
[. . .]
The Israelis are so sure about the location of the Hamas bunker, however, not because they are trying to score propaganda points, or because it has been repeatedly mentioned in passing by Western reporters—but because they built it. Back in 1983, when Israel still ruled Gaza, they built a secure underground operating room and tunnel network beneath Shifa hospital—which is one among several reasons why Israeli security sources are so sure that there is a main Hamas command bunker in or around the large cement basement beneath the area of Building 2 of the Hospital, which reporters are obviously prohibited from entering.
[. . .]
What Hamas wants is for reporters to use very different pictures from Shifa—namely, photos of Palestinians killed and wounded by Israelis, which make Palestinians look like innocent victims of wanton Israeli brutality.
[. . .]
Reporters who bravely or foolishly violate Hamas’ rules even on their social media accounts can be seen to repent with such alacrity that it’s not difficult to imagine how scared and dependent they are. Nick Casey of the Wall Street Journal, for example, tweeted that “You have to wonder w the shelling how patients at Shifa hospital feel as Hamas uses it as a safe place to see media.” Casey then quickly deleted his tweet, which didn’t save him from being put on a list of journalists who “lie/fabricate info for Israel” and “must be sued” – a threat which is surely the least of Casey’s fears. Last week, French-Palestinian journalist Radjaa Abu Dagg was summoned to Shifa by Hamas and interrogated. He wrote about the experience of “attempted intimidation” for Liberation—and then quickly had the paper take down the article.
[. . .]
He or she might also decide that reporting only the news that Hamas deems fit to print from Shifa Hospital isn’t actually reporting at all: It’s propaganda.

Two Dozen Arrested In New York During Pro Palestinian Protest

[From article]
At noon on Tuesday, 24 people were arrested in Midtown during a protest against the ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza. Over 100 people had gathered for the event, organized by professor and author Norman Finkelstein, who had posted a message to his website stating that if 100 people committed to an act civil disobedience, it would take place at the Israeli mission at the UN in New York City on Tuesday.
"I don’t believe in individual acts of martyrdom," Finkelstein wrote on Monday, on his website. "It’s got to be a collective action. If one hundred people either sign up to get arrested or to be there in solidarity, I’ll be there too."

UK Police Seize Cell Phones Used While Driving

[From article]
Police are to start seizing drivers’ mobile phones after a crash in order to check whether they were texting or calling while at the wheel.
Previously mobiles have only been taken when drivers are seriously injured or killed in a crash, but new guidelines issued by the Association of Chief Police Officers says that officers should check drivers’ mobiles even in the event of a minor shunt.
The intent is to crack down on mobile distractions while driving, with recent reports suggesting that more than 500 people are killed or seriously injured each year in the UK because drivers have been calling, texting or posting to social media.

Unfortunately this first round was merely a vanguard as another 11 million illegal aliens—the unofficial number is much higher—are set to be granted legal status any day now. Am I the only one who thinks the timing of these amnesties is awfully coincidental? Remember all those Obama supporters that stepped out of the shadows to proudly admit they had voted several times for their dear leader in 2012? Remember also that the election software that records, counts and reports results for 26 states—or 900 jurisdictions—is foreign owned by Spanish online voting company SCYTL. And we remember how the Democrats delayed implementation of many of their enormously damaging policies until after the 2012 election to mitigate threats to their re-election bid. In fact it worked so well that they’re repeating the practice for the upcoming mid-terms.

New Orleans Man Survives Beating By Teen Gang

Have you ever heard of a gang of white teens beating up a white man for no reason?

[From article]
He remembers only flashes, he said, including the teens taking his laptop from his backpack but never attempting -- despite ample opportunity -- to take the $90 he had in his wallet.
"This was a planned assault," Murphy said when reached by phone Tuesday (July 29), two days after the attack. "It was not a robbery attempt. They just wanted to stomp somebody."
[. . .]
The day before the attack on Murphy, New Orleans artist Christopher Brumfield said maybe a dozen teens, armed with sticks and bats, beat him as he walked along St. Roch Avenue near North Claiborne Avenue.
Brumfield said he had to crawl into oncoming traffic to escape the assault.
[. . .]
"My speculation is I don't think that it's about holding a grudge against anybody in particular," he said. "I think it's holding a grudge against society in general."

Italian Journalist Confirms Hamas Uses Hospital As Headquarters, Knowingly Encourages Civilians to Be Killed

U.S. network television news on Wednesday July 30, 2014 only reported that civilians were killed. They broadcast extensive video footage of rescuing injured and dead. They omitted the fact that Hamas uses hospitals and schools for military purposes and encourages civilians to place themselves in danger to be killed.

[From article]
An Italian journalist who until Tuesday was embedded in Gaza has backed the IDF's account of a rocket strike on a school playground in central Gaza's Shati refugee camp on Monday.
At least 10 people were killed in the attack - most of them children - and some sources claimed the death toll was as high as 30. Palestinian sources were quick to blame Israel, claiming that an Israeli fighter jet fired missiles directly at the playground and nearby hospital. Israel denied the accusations, saying that Hamas rockets aimed at Israel from the area misfired, and struck both the school and the hospital:
[. . .]
Numerous foreign journalists have admitted to interviewing Hamas leaders inside the hospital, but their reports are notable for the lack of emphasis placed on such a flagrant violation of international law.
In the second case, another WSJ journalist tweeted evidence of a Hamas rocket misfire which damaged Gaza's main hospital. Again, shortly after tweeting it, Tamer El-Ghobashi removed the evidence.
[. . .]
To compound the problem, Hamas has openly encouraged civilians to act as human shields, glorifying their actions as heroism.
Terrorists have also used hospitals and schools as command centers and military bases.
On Tuesday, the United Nations Work and Relief Agency (UNWRA) admitted that it had discovered rockets stored in one of its schools for the third time.

How many more of the civilian casualties have been cause by Hamas and Islamic rockets that fell short or misfired? Like Israel says happened at a U.N. school and shelter.
We likely never will know because Hamas is so fast to cover up the scene and intimidates reporters:
CAMERA discovered a Wall Street Journal reporter coming to the same conclusion as the Italian reporters, but then deleting the tweet:

This is part of a pattern of western media being intimidated into not reporting all the civilian deaths cause by Hamas, and how Hamas uses locations like al-Shifa hospital.
This tweet showing Hamas using al-Shifa hospital for media interviews was deleted by a Wall Street Journal reporter:

Both Parties and George Will Mislead Americans About Human Trafficking Law

[From article]
But the law’s definition of “unaccompanied alien child” limits the hearings to kids who have no relatives in the United States. If your relatives live here, the law assumes you’re not being sex-trafficked — you’re trying to join them. Here’s the definition — note subsection (C):”(g) Definitions
“(2) the term ‘unaccompanied alien child’ means a child who –
(A) has no lawful immigration status in the United States;
(B) has not attained 18 years of age; and
(C) with respect to whom –
(i) there is no parent or legal guardian in the United States; or (ii) no parent or legal guardian in the United States is available to provide care and physical custody.”
The law is not — as George Will suggested on “Fox News Sunday” — a general humanitarian mandate allowing all 2 billion poor children of the world to show up at our border and be told, “Welcome to America!” It’s a law to combat sex trafficking.

Palestinian Teen Throws Bomb at German Synagogue

[From article]
BERLIN: German police arrested an 18-year-old man after petrol bombs were thrown at a synagogue in the western town of Wuppertal overnight, they said in a statement on Wednesday.
"According to investigations, three suspects threw several incendiary devices at the entrance," police said. No one was hurt and it appears no damage was done to the synagogue, they said. A local resident had alerted them when she saw a fire close to the building.
Prosecutor Hans-Joachim Kiskel said the nationality of the arrested suspect was not clear but added that the man had told authorities he was Palestinian. The other two suspects fled.

Pro Muslim Rally Turns to Chanting To Kill Jews

[From article]
Jewish human rights group The Simon Wiesenthal Center on Friday called on Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte to rescind approval for a rally in support of ISIS in the Hague, after protesters, yelling in Arabic and Dutch, proclaimed that “dirty Jews from the sewers” should be killed.
In a fiery letter to Rutte, Dr. Shimon Samuels, SWC Director for International Relations, said similar calls of violence were reported at a rally on July 4, and show that rather than even expressing support for Hamas militants in Gaza, the true intention of the rallies have been to call for the death of Jews.
“Yesterday, the call in Arabic and Dutch was for ‘dirty Jews from the sewers to be killed,’” Samuels said. “This rally had little to do with Gaza solidarity. It was unambiguously targeted against Jews, but also according to the Dutch press sought to lynch journalists, who were pulled to safety by the police, otherwise serving as silent spectators.”

White House: Thanks to "Muslim Americans [for] building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy.”

[From article]
On Sunday [July 27, 2014], President Obama and First Lady Michelle released a statement thanking Muslim Americans for their many “achievements and contributions… to building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy.”
The comments were made to mark the celebration of Eid-al-Fitr, a time of spiritual renewal for Muslims which comes at the end of the month-long fast of Ramadan. The Obamas said in their statement that Eid “celebrates the common values that unite us in our humanity” and “welcomed their commitment to giving back to their communities.” The International Business Times reports that during Eid, Muslims join in Islamic prayer, while saying "Allahu Akbar," or "God is Great," and feasting.
The statement further reads that the administration “wishes Muslims in the United States and around the world a blessed and joyous celebration.” The letter ended with salutation of “Eid Mubarak,” which roughly means “blessed celebration.”

Philadelphia Psychiatrist Shoots Patient Who Killed His Case Worker

Shock: Theresa Hunt was shot dead by Richard Plotts in a Philadelphia hospital on Thursday after an argument broke out and a gun battle ensued

[From article]
Psychiatrist Dr. Lee Silverman pumped three bullets into Plotts at the Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, Pennsylvania on Thursday after the patient had shot and killed caseworker Theresa Hunt.
Authorities say Plotts, 49, had been ranting about the hospital's no-gun policy when he pulled out his weapon.
Police found 39 unused rounds on Plotts and seized two more revolvers and a computer when they searched his home in Upper Derby, Pennsylvania.
Silverman, who has been hailed as a hero for his actions, crouched behind his desk, took out his own handgun and returned fire.
The hospital is unlikely to take action against Silverman for having the gun on the premises and says it will welcome him back to work.

Unrest Across the Globe Due to Misguided History?

This opinion piece begins by noting the failure of a dumbed down population to remember history. The he uses the analogy of selective history for his argument. The Balfour Declaration in 1917 was only about 1100 year after the beginning of the religious wars of the Middle East began. If the argument over who owns what land is the issue, one historian makes the case that all people came down from Russia across the former Aleutian Bridges. That means we are all Russians.

Desperate Attempt To Connect Science With Psychiatry

"Mental illnesses are only accessible to researchers through new understandings of genetics." Gasp! Decades of using human subjects for psychiatric research were simply all exercises in sadistic criminal abuses? "progress in the study of mental illnesses seems more attainable than ever, those involved with the center say." $650 million will fund more researchers to look for progress in studying mental illnesses? Much cheaper to simply continue consensus definition of mental illnesses, and pizza parties to study progress? “'Human genomics has begun to reveal the causes of these disorders,' said Stanley, the founder and chairman of MBI, a company that sells collectibles," The founder of a collectibles company founded the psychiatric research center? Yikes! Prior to discovery of the human genome, causes of mental illnesses were unknown? "The topic of mental health is personal for Stanley. His son, Jonathan, suffered from severe bipolar disorder," There is an national lobbyist entity for drug companies which promotes drug treatment founded by parents of mental patients. Why are persons with disabilities prevented from speaking for themselves? Do homosexuals, black people and women need their mentors to speak for them, to tell others what they need? These alleged illnesses, created by consensus, are symptoms, protected behavior and speech, which are treated with drugs. How will these drugs affect the human genome? Will future treatment be genetically enhanced humans to "cure" mental illnesses, i.e., to curb undesirable speech and behavior? The goal of connecting psychiatry to science, without evidence, is getting exponentially obtuse and absurd. More, more money is needed. Is obsession with fund raising a possible new mental disorder?

Reality of Tax Code, Exposing Obama's Tax Lies

[From article]
Taxes are only one reason that companies relocate abroad. When President Obama uses labor regulators to attack businesses pursuing strategies he finds objectionable, when Elizabeth Warren proposes to employ the SEC as a weapon in her own endless political vendetta, when the IRS is targeting politically unpopular organizations, a forward-thinking firm with any level of financial and political sophistication might decide it would rather deal with Switzerland’s FINMA or the Central Bank of Ireland than with the people who inflicted Dodd-Frank on the world.

Comparing Risks of Alcohol to Marijuana

[From article]
Drinkers get to enjoy their intoxicant, while marijuana smokers have to fear arrest. This injustice should be rectified by letting marijuana users have their drug under the same terms as alcohol. As we see, if one can’t make a compelling case for marijuana on its merits, at least one can denounce alcohol, cry hypocrisy, and expect parity.
[. . .]
Marijuana is the second-leading drug-related reason for a visit to a hospital emergency room, trailing only cocaine. In fact, with about 450,000 emergency room mentions a year, marijuana now exceeds heroin.
[. . .]
virtually everything that the New York Times thinks they know about marijuana’s effects is based on old anecdotes (including personal experimentation), cultural perceptions, and in some cases, even legitimate research derived from a time when marijuana was, on average, one-fifth to one-sixth as powerful as it is today.
[. . .]
We won’t really know what potential crisis we have already sown in this emerging generation of youth for at least a decade.
[. . .]
There is now sufficient evidence to establish that we are putting our children – all our children, including the minority and the vulnerable — at risk by increasing access to a poison.

Hamas Uses Children To Dig Terror TunnelsTo Israel, 160 Died

[From article]
Because of their size and agility, children make good tunnel-diggers. The English knew this when they were digging coal mines during the Victorian era; Hamas knows it now.
Thus, the Journal of Palestine Studies (edited by President Obama’s pro-Palestinian friend Rashid Khalidi) reported in 2012 that Hamas uses children to help dig tunnels into Israel. The finding appears in a paper called Gaza’s Tunnel Phenomenon: The Unintended Dynamics of Israel’s Siege.
[. . .]
He also found that “at least 160 children have been killed in the tunnels, according to Hamas officials.” And, as noted, this was as of the end of 2011. How many more Palestinian children have died digging tunnels for Hamas since then?
It’s not surprising that Hamas endangers Palestinian children by having them engage in highly dangerous child labor. Hamas is willing to use children as human shields, so why would it not use them to dig tunnels?

Convicted Chicago Man Claims Innocence Fights for Freedom

This saga reveals the underside of American Society, where police abuse their power, and criminals work along with them. If these abuses area as widespread as suggested, there is an institutional problem with the Chicago police. Once read that when there are a lot of homicides in a city it suggests high levels of police corruption.

[From article]
Over the years, Brzeczek said, he had watched the Cook County state’s attorney’s office fight several “nasty, protracted battles” on cases that “it eventually lost.” He added, “Most of the decisions were based not on legalities or what’s right or what should be done but, rather, on ‘How is this going to wash politically?’ ”
[. . .]
If you have a proven instance where an officer lied to put an innocent person in jail, it calls into question all the other cases in which his word has been a primary source of information.” He said of the Conviction Integrity Unit, “Its record is pretty dismal.” He added, “Was it simply a P.R. move? Thus far, there’s no evidence of more than paper reform.”
[. . .]
In 2009, Gayle Horn and another lawyer, Karl Leonard, filed a petition for post-conviction relief for Hood, arguing that the evidence against him had “unraveled,” and that the officers involved had “a long history of similar misconduct.” Morgan, Sr.,’s most recent murder conviction, they argued, demonstrated a “clear modus operandi: Morgan, Sr. has killed close friends and loved ones for financial gain by shooting them . . . and leaving their partially or fully nude bodies to die in and around abandoned cars.”
[. . .]
He said he realized a while ago that “this thing is bigger than me,” and that “there’s a chain of corruption.”

He couldn’t help feeling that justice was a kind of lottery, and that he was stuck holding a bunk ticket. “Do I have something written on my forehead saying, ‘Y’all can just do something to me’?” he pleaded. “What’s wrong with me?”

FBI Arrest Texas Man For Sending Hundreds of Threats Over Five Years

[From article]
According to the complaint, since December 2008, more than 500 hoax letters were mailed from the North Texas area to cities across the U.S. and to U.S. Embassies abroad. The initial letters, sent out on December 4, 2008, had a “Dallas, Texas” postmark and contained a white-powder substance. Law enforcement has identified more than 15 batches of similar letters sent from the Dallas area from December 2008 to the present. The language used in the letters as well as the method of sending the letters, indicate that one person, Truong, is responsible for sending all of the hoax letters. In all but two of the batches of letters, a white-powder substance was included in the envelope.
[. . .]
These letters were sent to pre-schools and elementary schools across the country as well as to Lockheed Martin in Grand Prairie, Texas. HAZMAT responded to the location of many hoax letter recipients, including Mi Escuelita Preschool Crossover in Dallas.
In June 2013, 28 public schools in Boston received letters that resulted in HAZMAT responses. That investigation resulted in the identification of an IP address in Rowlett associated with Truong.

Christians, Politicians Rally For Israel At United Nations Plaza

[From article]
Carrying a "Christians for Israel" sign was Dr. Martha Smith, who said she was visiting from Oslo and had heard about the rally on Christian radio.
She started by calling the widely acclaimed 1993 Oslo Accords, which brought a fleeting peace between Israel and the Palestinians, "an anti-Semitic pact to destroy Israel." Taken aback, I asked if she opposed the peace process and she said yes, adding that "I believe that Mr. Kerry is on faulty ground and I know many of my fellow Christians who are fighting for Israelis survival feel the same."
Needless to say her support for Israel was quite vigorous. As was her belief that President Obama is Muslim and that Hillary Clinton is pro-Palestinian.

Canon Andrew White, dubbed "the bishop of Baghdad" for his work at St George's church in the capital, spoke after the ultimatum handed to Christians in the northern city of Mosul by the Islamic State of Iraq Levant (Isis) to convert, pay a tax or be put to death passed last week.

Is CIA Interfering With Whistleblowers, Thwarting Congressional Investigations?

[From article]
The CIA got hold of the legally protected email and other unspecified communications between whistleblower officials and lawmakers this spring, people familiar with the matter told McClatchy. It’s unclear how the agency obtained the material.
At the time, the CIA was embroiled in a furious behind-the-scenes battle with the Senate Intelligence Committee over the panel’s investigation of the agency’s interrogation program, including accusations that the CIA illegally monitored computers used in the five-year probe. The CIA has denied the charges.
The email controversy points to holes in the intelligence community’s whistleblower protection systems and raises fresh questions about the extent to which intelligence agencies can elude congressional oversight.

WI Police Chief Gets Personal With Tea Party Leader

[From article]
A police chief in Wisconsin pleaded no contest Friday to a charge that he signed a local tea party leader up on gay dating, pornography and federal health care websites.
Prosecutors charged Town of Campbell Police Chief Tim Kelemen earlier this month with one misdemeanor count of unlawful use of a computerized communication system. The La Crosse Tribune reported Kelemen entered the plea in a deal that calls for the charge to be dismissed in two years if he doesn't commit any new crimes, continues counseling and completes 40 hours of community service.
The charge stems from a feud between Kelemen and tea party leader Greg Luce. It began last fall when the tea party began holding protests on an interstate overpass in Campbell. Concerned the protests were distracting drivers, Kelemen persuaded the town board to ban signs on the bridge.
Kelemen told investigators Luce urged tea party supporters across the U.S. to bombard his department with harassing phone calls and threats in retaliation for the ordinance.
Kelemen told investigators he tried to get back at Luce this winter by using his name, address, phone number and email address to create accounts for Luce on homosexual dating, pornography and federal health care websites. He told investigators he didn't think what he was doing was a big deal.

Iraqi Christians Seek White House Support

It is unlikely Obama will support Christians under attack by Muslims. The White House indicates it is a strong supporter of CAIR, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Hamas. Christians may consider taking up arms to protect themselves. The White House is occupied with assisting illegal aliens, spreading same sex marriage and issuing executive orders. Protecting Christians from Muslims is a low priority.

Iraqi Christians held demonstrations in a number of cities on Saturday, including Washington, Paris, The Hague, Cologne, and London, in order to bring attention to the current assault on Christians by the Islamic State (IS)-- formerly the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) jihadists. One week ago, Christians were forced out of Mosul, Iraq’s second largest city, and many Christian monasteries, shrines and churches have since been destroyed.

Pro Palestinians In Paris Use Violence Against Police and Jews

[From article]
Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters marched in French cities on Saturday to condemn violence in Gaza, defying a ban imposed after demonstrators marched on two synagogues in Paris last weekend and clashed with riot police.
A Reuters photographer said demonstrators in northern Paris launched projectiles at riot police, who responded by firing teargas canisters and stun grenades.

Demonstrators also climbed on top of a building and burned an Israeli flag. At least one car was set on fire.

Eleven Year Old Girl Shot Dead in Chicago

So according to the priorities of journalists and politicians what is needed is more same sex marriage, more illegal aliens, and more executive orders condemning Republicans. Oh yea.

[From article]
Shamiya Adams was sitting on a bedroom floor in her best friend's home, making s'mores after an evening of practicing a dance routine, when the shot ripped through the house in Garfield Park.
The bullet crashed through the wall of the bedroom and struck the 11-year-old in the head. She was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where family kept an overnight vigil until the girl was pronounced dead at 7:33 a.m. today.
"They came out and told us she wasn't going to make it," Shamiya's grandmother said. "Oh, my God."

‘I got nothing left to say to these moms,’ Emanuel continued. ‘I don't know where they find the strength to go on, put one foot in front of another. Because she had the... she wanted her daughter to play with her friends. We're a better city than that.’
But statistics paint a different picture.
Despite city officials infamously claiming “crime is down” earlier this year, murders are on pace to at least equal last year’s total.

Israeli Army Discovers Extensive Terrorist Tunnels From Gaza

[From article]
Eight Palestinian militants emerged from a tunnel some 300 yards inside Israel on Saturday morning, armed with automatic weapons and wearing Israeli military uniforms, the Israeli military said. The gunmen fired a rocket-propelled grenade at two Israeli military jeeps on patrol, starting a battle that killed two Israeli officers and one of the militants, according to the military. The rest then retreated underground, back to Gaza.
Hours later, the military says, two more militants entered Israel either through a tunnel or by breaching the border fence. The Israelis said the men were carrying tranquilizers and handcuffs; one militant was fatally shot and the other died when the explosive belt he was wearing detonated, a military spokesman said.
And Saturday night, in yet another incursion, a militant slipped through a different tunnel into Israeli territory and, according to the military, fired on troops who killed him.
