Harvard Rules

Harvard Rules

The City Manager announced at a Council meeting that he is concerned about protecting the Constitutional Rights of Harvard, which is defenseless in this lawless city. That is why he negotiated as he did the PILOT with Harvard. With the City Manager covering Harvard's back and nine spineless councilors there is no end to what Harvard was able to achieve. Cambridge Police ignore criminal activity on Harvard property under City Manager policy. They acquired city land contrary to city and state laws. Now they run candidates for office. Who needs political parties or elections? Why not let Harvard run the state and US government as they see fit?

Biased Reporting FOX 25 News Boston

Joe Battenfield again showed his bias on the 10 O'Clock News on July 30, 2008. His entire report was speculation about Obama's VP choice with no mention of John McCain who is in the same process. Hello Ralph Nader? Has the PR industry taken control of FOX News in running Obama's "Wag the Dog" campaign? Try imitating NYPost which brought down a NY Governor and exposed State Police corruption. MA has worse which needs scrutiny. FOX 25 News needs an objective political reporter. Battenfield is comfortable with the one-party government in MA and the resulting corruption.

Voters Are the Problem

Voters Are the Problem

Whining will get you everywhere. ("Not the trial of the century," Boston Herald editorial, July 30, 2008) Sen. Marzilli got elected with his bipolar ailment because the voters cannot distinguish between sane and insane. The solution is to restrict the right to vote only to psychiatrists who can tell the difference. They can also predict the future. This enables them to only vote in candidates who will not molest women and will vote for more funding for psychiatric treatment.

Is it news that a politician especially the Speaker of the House of
Representatives is doing favors for friends? (Andrea Estes, and
Stephen Kurkjian, "More deals for DiMasi's friends," Boston Globe,
July 30, 2008) The rival Boston daily has a columnist who writes about
this almost every week. The hackerama is not news to the readers of
that paper. Has the Globe been admiring the Democratic leadership for
all there years at the expense of seeing what was going on?
Globe reporters should scrutinize how the courts also do favors for
friends. Examine who works at the various court clerks offices. That
is where the favor pool thrives with no sunshine exposing the
activities.

Looking in All the Wrong Places

The Rappaport Fellows Program is a "program in which gifted students
from six Boston-area law schools (Boston College, Boston University,
Harvard, New England, Northeastern University, and Suffolk University)
work with top public policymakers and government officials on key
issues that affect the citizens of Greater Boston and Massachusetts."
("Students work to make a difference," Cambridge Chronicle, Jul 28,

the dysfunctional state legislature and the compromised law
enforcement apparatus in Massachusetts. Is the problem that these
gifted students "work with" instead of scrutinizing the policy-makers?
If this is a press release, not a news story it would explain it.

What Does It Mean?

What Does It Mean?

Every day the words "racist," "racism," and "racial" appear in
newspaper reports about discrimination. (David Abel, "Nantucket's
cultural clash," Boston Globe, July 28, 2008)
Never are the words defined. Often they are used solely to discredit a
person. US Senator Barack Obama the third black American candidate for
president says he will bridge the racial divide. But he too fails to
define the word.
Readers might conclude that racial discrimination was the only
kind of unlawful discrimination because journalists seldom mention the
as pervasive discrimination based on age and disability.
The law does not elevate one kind of unlawful discrimination over
another. Only people do.

No Cell Phones Allowed

No Cell Phones Allowed

An "administration official" justified "three State Police officers as
chauffeurs" for the Governor's chief of staff saying it was "to make
sure he can be in communications with the governor in a safe way in an
emergency." (FREDRIC U. DICKER, "SPITZER AIDES COUNTER 'TRICKS'TER
TESTIMONY," New York Post, July 28, 2008) This is reported on page 2,
when on page 1 the same day it's reported the governor will announce
New York's "worst fiscal crisis since [. . .] the mid-1970s." ("Hard
Times," same edition, page one) It would be cheaper to give O'Byrne
two cell phones or walkie talkies. Truly amazing how the more things
change the more they stay the same. Do the State Police control the
telephone system in New York? While the Attorney General investigates
state police abuse from the previous administration a new scandal is
already brewing. Is someone adding chemicals to the water in Albany
that makes politicians so weird and so clueless?

Destroying Public Records

Destroying Public Records

If the firefighters removed their own files they need help.
(Donovan Slack, "Firefighter files vanish as FBI looks into claims,"
Boston Globe, July 27, 2008) In 1973 when unlawful CIA human
experiments (MKULTRA) were about to be exposed the US Congress passed
a law permitting the destruction of the incriminating files.
Local police often enter names spelled wrong in order to thwart
retrieval. Police and the FBI are experts at hiding records that may
harm the Bureau or the department. J.Edgar Hoover used to keep some
files in his desk. When responding to requests under the FOIA they
would say no records were found in the files. Subsequent bureaucrats
have adopted this deception to thwart attempts to open government to
sunshine.

Equal Rights for Some

Equal Rights for Some

"Our state ... ought to be in the business of encouraging fair and
equitable laws that don't discriminate," said Sen. Cynthia Stone
Creem. (Scott Sayare, "OUT-OF-STATE SAME-SEX COUPLES TO WED IN MASS.,
SOON?" Boston Weekly Dig, July 23, 2008) Senator Creem and the
homosexual lobby say equal rights for all but they mean all
homosexuals. Persons with disabilities are denied marriage in Mass
(M.G.L. Chapter 207, Sec. 16). Some persons cannot marry the person
they choose in Mass (M.G.L. Chapter 207, Sec. 1, 2 and 4) Why is it
that upper class interest groups get equal rights while vulnerable
persons are denied their basic rights? Sen. Creem shows her ignorance,
her bigotry or both by her comments on repealing this law. If the
issue were equal rights many laws especially M.G.L. Chapter 123 would
be declared null and void.

No New Taxes!

No New Taxes!

[This letter was published in the online edition of the Cambridge Chronicle on Tuesday July 29, 2008.]

Mr. Miller does not see traffic calming as an improvement. (Larry
Miller, "'Beautification' project is a nightmare," Cambridge
Chronicle, Jul 24, 2008) If the city prohibited pedestrians and
eliminated sidewalks, it would improve the flow of traffic and allow
more parking spaces. People should be banned from the city unless they
are in a vehicle. That is what cities are for -- cars and drivers.
Let's keep the traffic moving -- stop blocking traffic will you? And
another thing, who needs traffic signals? That only inhibits the flow
of traffic as well. Then perhaps with no need to keep the lights
working the state can really wither away. No new taxes. Read my
lips!!!

Misguided Psychiatry

Saying "the unstated assumption that depression is a serious but
treatable medical condition" is the most telling phrase in the story.
(Adam Reilly, "Head Case," Boston Phoenix, July 25, 2008, Page 14,
News) Depression and all human emotions have become mental illnesses.
The "advocates" quoted are identified as members of NAMI, a front
organization that gets $2-3 million each year from drug companies to
promote (advocate for) treatment. The only reference to rights of
persons with disabilities is the quaint idea (Ahem!) that Marzilli
"deserves some degree of privacy."
There's no statement that Dr. Roy Perlis revealed Marzilli's medical
records (diagnosis). But if he did it was a violation of federal HIPAA
laws.
Skepticism regarding psychiatry is needed. No Boston journalist has
the wisdom or courage to scrutinize psychiatry.
Is mental illness a cause of "socially aberrant behavior?" Why are
persons with a history of mental illness treated differently from
other criminal defendants?
Logic, a method of determining truth, is seldom applied to psychiatry.
Reilly says Wendy Murphy is not a psychiatrist but her words are
logical. Psychiatry is not.
Three groups can answer the question of mental illness as a cause of
crime. (1) The group of people accused of mental illness. (2) The
group with no mental illness label. (3) The group who commit crimes.
The third group is made up of part of both of the other groups. If
mental illness caused crime it would always cause crime. Psychiatry is
arbitrary, not scientific. It is personal opinion masquerading as
science.
Wealthy persons use psychiatry and disability discrimination laws to
mitigate criminal liability.
This article shows the lack of awareness of those laws. The alleged
advocates from NAMI do not cite the ADA or other disability laws,
because they advocate for treatment not for people.
Reilly asks, "How responsible should we hold them for what they say
and do?" Huh? State policy is in M.G.L. Chapter 123, and the way that
police are trained by the MA Criminal Justice Training Council.
Persons accused of mental illness are regarded as dangerous by state
policy in violation of the state and US discrimination laws.
The Cambridge Health Alliance boasts that they deliver mental health
care coordinated with the Cambridge Police. Do they do that to protect
patients from the dangerous doctors? Do they coordinate treatment of
rashes and broken legs with the police too? Ahem!

NY Governor Paterson says it is racism

In this New York Observer article New York Governor Paterson says calling him an accidental Governor is racist. Like race mongers he does not define racism. He also says that if Obama loses that shows the country is racist also. But the article and a related editorial shows that many Governors and Presidents were also called accidental. Hello Clueless Anonymous Handicapped,
Thanks for your advice and good wishes. I am not a politician. I am a citizen
with constitutional rights. I think you are a coward by attacking me
anonymously. If you had any courage you would at least identify yourself. Anyone
can use the word handicapped, even the Deputy City Manager who loves to censor
me at meetings. What police agency do you work for? You would deny me another
right, the right to petition the government for redress of grievances, a First
Amendment Right. You sound like the limousine liberals who only want to hear
pleasant words about how great they are.
If you look into a dictionary you will see that the word bigot applies to these
people. You may not be the target of bigoted people who ridicule you and
humiliate you. Perhaps you do not see this as an abuse. Perhaps you share the
belief that persons with disabilities are not whole persons. Cambridge city
leaders, including the Handicapped Commission and the Human Rights Commission,
who refused to act for more than ten years created this situation due to their
bigotry, the proper word. Police ignored ten years of criminal abuse and then
joined in the abuses. After ten years of being polite and being ignored by city
officials, I decided to be direct. If you have other means of being heard good
for you I do not. And by the way just because you do not like what and how I
complain, does not make what I say illegal. You join in the abusers trying to
silence my complaints about criminal abuse. You want to join the bigots, go
right ahead. But don't expect me to defend you when it happens
to you.

Keep the Electoral College

Keep the Electoral College

[This letter was published in the Cambridge Chronicle online July 21, 2008.]

One omitted argument for keeping the current electoral college system
is the way that many people vote. (Will Brownsberger, "No to National
Popular Vote bill,"
Cambridge Chronicle, Jul 14, 2008) Some vote for the party. Others for
the media image, e.g. "He's so handsome!" Some vote for the name.
Still others are clueless about the issues or the history of the candidates.
Many people show no skepticism about what politicians say even during
campaigns. Josef Goebbels revealed it is possible to repeat a falsehood
often enough and have it believed as truth. Abraham Lincoln allegedly
said "You can fool all of the people some of the time." In this case it is only
necessary to fool the voters. This alone is reason enough to maintain
the electoral college as a check against misguided voters. Just look
around you and see who are now elected over and over again and again.
It may explain why the voters have only a 9 percent approval rating
for the US Congress, about 5 points below the President's rating.

Omissions

Omissions

[This letter was published in the Cambridge Chronicle online edition July 16, 2008; print edition July 17, 2008.]

The essay praising the Police Commissioner ignores the fact that the
City Manager is the top law enforcement officer of the city pursuant
to state law (M.G.L. Chapter 43, Section 104). (Erin Smith, "Top cop
reflects on one year on the job," Cambridge Chronicle, July 10, 2008)
The Manager's policy makes Harvard property a separate jurisdiction
from the rest of the city. HUPD promotes the idea that they have
exclusive jurisdiction on Harvard property which allows city police to
ignore violations of city ordinances because Harvard police are not
empowered to enforce them. City communications dispatchers divert
calls to Harvard knowing they cannot enforce some laws. Harvard
employees and contractors can violate noise ordinances, taking
deliveries as late as 1:00 AM on Thursdays through Saturday nights,
and by using hand-held gas-powered hedge trimmers. Harvard tour buses
violate state laws parking illegally and idling their engines. Crimes
on Harvard property are ignored by Cambridge police as if Harvard were
a different city. The same practices instituted under Healy's 25-year
reign continue under the new Police Commissioner. Police still treat
persons accused of mental illness as if they were criminals and
continue to violate city, state and US laws discriminating against
those persons. It appears that the new Commissioner shares this
illegal attitude. The Police Review Board and the Human Rights
Commission are run by police pretending to be civilians, an ongoing
abuse of police power. Cambridge police are untrained in enforcing
some criminal firearm statutes (e.g., Chapter 140, Section 131J) and
favor enforcement of laws protecting women over other vulnerable
groups. Cambridge police admit they are clueless when it comes to
preventing high tech crimes. It is mostly business as usual by a
better politician than the previous Commissioner.

Lets get real here. There are drugs, shootings, and graffiti all over the city and you are worrying about petty HU issues. If this is your worse nightmare then you are doing very good.
Police absolutely do not treat people with mental illness like criminals. in fact, I'd say the opposite. They treat criminals like they have mental illnesses. I have seen many a drug addict get a free pass because they are 'bipolar'.
This is a game drug addicts are taught to play by the system that protects them and makes money from them.

The Cambridge Health Alliance reports in their Annual Report that CHA coordinates mental health care with the Cambridge police. Is that to protect the patient from the dangerous doctors? Do they coordinate treatment of rashes and broken legs also with the Cambridge police? What universe do you live in? One black Arlington doctor celebrated treating mental patients as if they are dangerous. So much for compassion from others who know about discrimination. His letter was published in the Cambridge Chronicle. Try reading the training modules of the MA Criminal Justice Training Council which trains all MA police officers. It is state policy to treat them as if they are dangerous.

How to Buy a Child in 10 Hours

This was posted on the Comments pages on ABC News under the story on Nightline from July 8, 2008 on "How to Buy a Child in 10 Hours."

"NewEnglandLisa" recognizes the pervasive pattern of diverting attention to problems in other countries at the expense of vulnerable Americans. Politicians do that because there are no repercussions for supporting exploited persons elsewhere. "maryladyamas" says, ". . . only mentioning Haiti when this is obviously a worldwide phenomena," ignores the comment by Martin Bashir that there is more slavery in the world today than at any other time in history. If that is true why are white Americans alive today being vilified for slavery in the US 100 years ago? Why aren't the compassionate concerned African American leaders outraged over today's slavery all over the world? This shows their hypocrisy and how irrational their arguments are.
