Barney Frank Leads the Way

"It's totally arbitrary," says South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford. "If you've got the right lobbyist and the right representative connected to Washington or the right ties to Washington, you get the golden tap on the shoulder," says Gov. Sanford, a Republican.”

“Mr. [Barney] Frank, by his own account, wrote into the TARP bill a provision specifically aimed at helping this particular home-state bank. And later, he acknowledges, he spoke to regulators urging that OneUnited be considered for a cash injection.”

This is the argument against the massive government bailout. In a system where everything is for sale how can anyone expect less corruption? These are venal politicians giving away money. Do you think they will give it away on a rational basis or to promote their own careers? This has the potential for extensive corruption with journalists paying little attention. Instead they continue swooning over the first African American president. Hello he is a politician and worse a Harvard lawyer politician. Wake up and pay attention before this One repeals the First Amendment.

Integrity, not Efficiency

Integrity, not Efficiency

When a state government agency recommends dissolving itself, you know there are serious problems there. (Michael Virtanen, AP, “Stupor-gate,” New York Post, January 23, 2009, Page 2) The Albany County DA and the Commission on Public Integrity failed to perform their duties. Cuomo’s investigation was not “duplicative.”

Lacking subpoena power Cuomo revealed that Spitzer’s office was wrong. If efficiency is the goal one agency is sufficient. But one agency can easily be compromised as two state agencies were under Spitzer. The objective should be integrity. All structures can be corrupted. People with integrity, who do their job as Cuomo did his, are the goal.

Obama: The Beginning

Obama: The Beginning

On Wednesday January 21, 2009 a caller named Robert to the Michael Graham radio show on WTKK in Boston said, "The day of the rule of white men is over." He was unable to see how his view was a racist view of the country that demonized all white men. Will Obama and his thought police address the racism among his zealous supporters?

Will Obama and his supporters end the teaching of hatred toward America and Israel in Madrasses across the world from Morocco to Indonesia?

When George Bush had a favorability rating in the 80 percentiles, Hillary Clinton and the ACLU promoted the idea that dissent is patriotic. Now anyone who disagrees with Obama is designated mean-spirited.

Some young people pledged to serve Obama at the Inauguration on January 20,2009. Is this where 200 years of Constitutional rule led? Now it is a nation of a cult of a man?

Video and story about defacing a Bush Monument in Houston, TX.

L.A. Times report that Fox News was the only network that covered George Bush's return to Texas.

CNS story about celebrities equating Obama to Biblical figures.

These are not good indications for a new President who speaks about bringing the nation together.

US Department of Justice Statistics

On 16 Jan 2009 at 16:52, Julianne McKinney wrote:

You received a bogus response from the National Center for Victims of Crime (NCVC). Either that, or they don't bother reading the Department of Justice (NIJ) reports which they advertise on the NCVC site.

The NCVC posted a link to a DoJ Bureau of Justice
Special Report entitled "National Crime Victimization
Survey: Stalking Victimization in the United States,"
covering a 12-month period commencing in 2006.

See: http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/pub/pdf/svus.pdf

This is, in fact, the very report that received so
much publicity in the news recently ("an estimated 3.4 million stalking victims!").

If you look at the tables in this report, especially
at Table 5 on page 4 ("Victim-offender relationship in stalking and harassment") and at Appendix Table 3 on page 12 ("Number of stalking offenders perceived by
victim"), you'll find the following:

* An average of 10.6 percent of some 4.6 million
stalking and harassment victims don't know the
stalkers, since they're complete strangers.

* An average of 16.9 percent of the same 4.6 million
victims have no idea who is doing the stalking
(strangers or otherwise).

* 13.1 percent of 3.4 million victims claim to be
stalked and harassed by "3 or more" stalkers.

* 6.5 percent of 3.4 million victims can't say
precisely just how many people are stalking them.

That sounds like organized stalking to me.

The DoJ is also on top of the problems faced by
stalking and harassment victims when they try to report these crimes to the police. Take a look at the other tables in this report. The police dismiss the
complaints, treat the victims as crazy, don't make
reports, ...and all of the other crap which TIs have
reported in their dealings with the police.

You have a basis for asking the NCVC why they have
ignored this DoJ Special Report, Eleanor.

Does Diversity in the White House Press Corps Matter?

Does Diversity in the White House Press corps matter?

Emily Rooney daughter of 60 Minutes personality, Andy Rooney, and Host of Greater Boston, asks Should networks look to diversify their White House press reporting staff?

She said “the majority of the White House press corps is white.” The majority of the population of the country is white. The majority of the world is non-white. 16 percent of the world is white.

She mentioned Howard Kurtz’ column “Pallid to the Corps,” in the Washington Post, January 12, 2009. [Title changed online to “A Pale Reflection of America.”]

and Jeff Jacoby’s January 14, 2009, column in the Boston Globe “Why should a journalist’s race matter?”

Jacoby asks, “But why should it matter to anyone but a racist whether a White House reporter is black or white? Well, says Michael Fletcher, a colleague of Kurtz's, ‘you would want to have black journalists there to bring a different racial sensibility.’ [. . .] [Jacoby asks,] ’Do you know of any news organizations that are fretting over the “relative paucity” of evangelicals, Southerners, or Republicans on their payrolls?’”

Why are there no reporters with disabilities? To rephrase the question who cares about the paucity of persons with disabilities among the White House press corps?

Rooney said “it is something that is always true about discussions that go on in newsrooms across America. There’s always something that somebody of a different racial or ethnic background would think of that somebody else wouldn’t.”

Who speaks for persons with disabilities? That is what I’ve been complaining to Rooney about her show for a few years. Her response was to ban me from Boston. She has yet to have on a person to describe the perspective of being accused of having a psychiatric disability. Her guests include psychiatrists who boast of how great their drugs are. To Rooney access to treatment is what rights are about. Not the Constitutional Rights enjoyed by others just treatment.

Cassie Crossley, woman of color commentator said “it’s not about objectivity, it’s about fairness. There are different perspectives, which give a fuller picture,” she said. This is the “browning of America,” she added. “We are representative of what America is all about.” She added, “The White House Press corps should look like America.”

There are more persons with disabilities than there are persons of color. But to Crossley color trumps other categories. If brown color brings a fuller picture, what does no persons with disabilities bring?
If being representative of America is essential why are there no persons with disabilities among the White House Press Corps? Why is this not an issue for Rooney, Crossley or the other pundits on her show and elsewhere?

Joe Sciacca Boston Herald reporter, said, “politics should be color blind. If we say only African Americans can cover Barack Obama’s administration that is tokenism. Networks will appoint someone because of the color of his skin.” Does that mean that there are no persons with disabilities who are qualified to be a White House reporter?

Dan Kennedy, Journalism professor at Northeastern University whose daughter has a disability, said, people “do want that diversity and range and perspective and background. And it isn’t just let’s have more African American reporters. It’s let’s have more reporters from a variety of different ideologies and personal backgrounds.” Why is this not an issue for reporters with disabilities?

Kara Miller, reporter for the Metro West Daily News, said, “this is an issue not just for the White House press corps. It matters for the Sunday night news and for local news too. Same thing applies to persons with disabilities. How many local TV, radio, and print journalists have disabilities? Moreover, persons with physical disabilities are often as biased against persons accused of psychiatric illness as “normal” people.”

Cassie Crossley added “It’s been an issue not just for Barack Obama.” Yes, and disabilities being absent from the minds of reporters has been an issue with Rooney and all other media outlets for the same period of time.

Hate Speech for Me, not for Thee?

Hate Speech for Me, not for Thee?

It is difficult to distinguish between being clueless about hate speech, and intentional propaganda. (ADAM REILLY, “Toxic talk: Hating Obama,” Boston Phoenix, January 15, 2009) Any response to this one-sided essay should include that Bush was hung in effigy too.\

Why stop treating only “rabid right-wingers as benign?” What about rabid left-wingers? Who decides “what they’re actually saying?” Why does Columbia’s Michael Massing demand that only “responsible conservatives [. . .] condemn rhetorical overkill on the right?” What about responsible liberals condemning rhetorical overkill on the left?

Is it a “fact that Obama wasn’t really born in the United States?” Why doesn’t he just show his birth certificate to end the wonder and skepticism? Why is it a problem?

Why is it “pernicious” to state the obvious that “the New Deal [was] a failure?” It was. If “rooting against the president, [is] rooting against our collective interests as Americans,” why was the vile and venomous rhetoric against George Bush not condemned?

Where is the evidence that “vaguely imagined fears [. . .] are going to be mitigated, time and again, by factual evidence to the contrary;” and that “hard-core racists will keep on hating.” Then Obama will not be able to reconcile the country as he promised.

Where was all of this concern for rational discourse toward the President during the past 8 years?

Emotionally disturbed are violent?

It is troubling that the Columbia President was assaulted. But it is also troubling that he believes that the assault occurred because the person "was under psychiatric treatment." Does Columbia's President believe that all persons "under psychiatric treatment" are violent? That is stereotyping which the President would never tolerate toward other groups of vulnerable persons. What explains Bollinger's venomous attitude toward persons with disabilities? The statement issued by the Office of Public Affairs is no less offensive. Is it official university policy that emotionally disturbed persons (persons with disabilities) are known to be violent too? What happened to treating all persons equal? Are only black persons, homosexuals, women and illegal aliens entitled to equal protection of the laws?

MSNBC Continues to Bash Gov. Palin

Seldom mentioned is that Gov. Sarah Palin is a reformer not just a politician who talks about reform. That generates fear among liberals and their journalist apologists, who are as venal as politicians and voters. Palin walks the walk. Those with relaxed rectitude try to discredit her. Palin said she reads the Alaska papers and The New York Times. She is Governor of Alaska not New York. Lack of historical knowledge is a problem for too many journalists, who have skills with no historical context. It makes for an uninformed electorate that elects criminals and incompetents. Goebbels and Edward Bernays would approve of what Axelrod did. But the country will suffer. Obama is involved with three scandals (Blago, Richardson and Hsu) before taking the oath of office. Where is the outrage?

The Conformist Party troops were out in force to praise the Chairman Emeritus of the Cambridge chapter.

It would be nice if the Chronicle would announce these sorts of public meetings well in advance before they occur so the citizens actually know about them and can try to attend to present their views, opinions and reaction to this sort of thing.
By not covering these events before hand you are doing your readership and the city a disservice.

Roy Bercaw
'unquiet soul' says, 'It would be nice if the Chronicle would announce these sorts of public meetings.' Concerned citizens need to learn what law requires cities to do. Cambridge Chronicle is a private citizen under law and has no power over government. Read the open meetings law. See how lax the city is in obeying that law. Then visit the City's website and the city clerk's office. If you want to learn how government works forget about psychiatry and making diagnoses. Law is the standard not personal opinion. In Massachusetts Democrats do what they want to do 'because they can' ignore laws and voters. Cambridge is run by the Conformist Party of Massachusetts. The City Manager decides and lets you think your vote counts.

Whose Interests?

Whose Interests?

The assumption of the article is faulty. (David S. Bernstein, “Political Virgins,” Boston Phoenix, January 9, 2009, News, Page 11) Bernstein provides no evidence for his sweeping statement “Everyone in Massachusetts wants to be represented on Beacon Hill by someone with clout, someone with connections and the power to step in and fight for his or her home district’s interests.”

Voters want to believe that their representative is not a crook. Individuals are more concerned about their own interests rather than the interests of the district. The representatives are concerned with the district in order to get re-elected. A problem is that lobbyists and campaign contributors have access to the reps, not needy citizens .

Bernstein writes from the perspective of the politicians. Has he become lost among the trees and no longer can see the forest?

Smile for the Cameras

[Five comments under this article all support street security cameras.] The Conformist Party speaks, 'We want security not freedom!' Washington Post reports that US Army deployed a brigade on Oct. 1, 2008 to assist local authorities. [One comment suggested that the cost of the cameras is not from the City tax base.] This is funded by the money tree too. Cameras help solve crime. [One comment suggested that cameras deter crime.] They do not deter or prevent crime. Do criminals think, 'Wait. Am I on TV? Maybe I shouldn't do this?' Cameras in jails, police stations and on patrol cars catch officers beating suspects. [One comment stated that the ACLU is run by criminals.] If the ACLU is run by criminals why not put cameras in their homes and offices? 'Through the wall' technology makes it easy to watch and to listen to civilians in their homes. US Supreme Court says (US v Kyllo) it is an illegal entry. Has that ever stopped criminal officials or crime families?

Communication technology can give the appearance of access while shutting out ordinary citizens. What are they doing today to keep American voters uninformed so that they elect criminals? Robert and Jack Kennedy were sons of a bootlegger who used mob connections to get JFK elected. Robert Kennedy's "massive war against the Mafia" excluded crime families that supported JFK. It was an abuse of power and betrayal that got the Kennedys killed. The families that supported JFK's political operations killed those involved in the murder of JFK. The FBI ignored reports of plans to kill JFK saying the informants were mentally ill. Self-Serving Psychiatrists

Self-Serving Psychiatrists

This report is laughable. It shows how arrogant, deceptive and parochial psychiatrists are. Some of them are saying, "If this is true why don't I know about it?" It is like the group who only believes what is written in the New York Times is true and believes nothing that does not appear there. Compare these reports to the complaints by residents of the Fernald School in Waltham, MA. They called the US Dept of Energy which was conducting illegal human experiments. The Energy Dept. employees called the residents "the crazies." See Michael D'Antonio's "Atomic Guinea Pigs," NYTimes Magazine, August 31, 1997, and his book, "State Boy's Rebellion." See also Fred Verba who escaped from Auschwitz to reveal what the Nazi doctors were doing to the Jews. When he got to Hungary, the Jewish leaders did not believe him. They would have heard about that like the psychiatrists today. One definition of paranoia is seeing things that others do not see. That does not mean that they are not there. Only that others cannot see them, or pretend not to see them. The concern of mental health professionals is that something may be happening that they did not classify as a mental illness. They need to act quickly so that they can bill insurance companies for this newly made up illness. Today Galileo, St. Bruno and Copernicus would be declared mentally ill for their views that the earth was not the center of the universe. What psychiatrist would believe them? Saying that "experts" see a similarity with claims of alien abductions shows how irrational the experts and the journalists are. What is the connection? That the experts do not believe them? It is one more effort to discredit the victims of criminal abuse. MA has a state law which makes possession of such electrical weapons a felony. See MA General Laws Chapter 140, Section 131 J.

The New York Times quotes the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, a drug company lobbyist. NAMI promotes more funding for more drug treatment. Use of electrical devices for treatment is reported being tested on persons accused of mental illness. See Dr. Keith Ablow, "Stimulating Happiness," New York Post, October 28, 2008, page

Acoustic weapons and electromagnetic weapons are examples of experimental less lethal anti personnel weapons being developed for military use. The US government has a long history of unlawful non consensual testing on human subjects. Spies, organized crime families and psychologists have used such weapons for harassment and for control for at least 40 years in this country. See Jose Delgado's experiments in the 1960s.

Alex Jones Laments Use of Electrical Weapons

Massachusetts has a Firearms statute which makes it a felony to possess or to sell electrical weapons. Mass General Laws Chapter 140 Section 131 J.
In 2001 I wrote a bill to enhance the penalties. My bill did not pass, but subsequently the legislature did enhance the penalties. Local police are not trained to enforce that law. They demand evidence of use, which is not in the statute. Police and FBI informants, and members of organized crime use these weapons for harassment and provocation. Just ignore the clueless or complicit who attribute mental illness. The laws on discrimination state that it does not matter if a person is mentally ill or not. If they are denied access to government services it is a violation of law. Saying that a crime victim is mentally ill shows that the accuser believes it is OK to ignore persons with disabilities and to abuse such persons. They are sociopaths, and that includes the psychiatrists, the politicians, the judges and the police.

"The government publicly claims that these 'directed energy
weapons,' or 'D.E.W.', are still in the experimental stage, or
that working equipment is large and bulky."

These are two of many deliberate lies promulgated by US Agencies. If these weapons are experimental then the US Government is conducting an unlawful human experiment as they've done dozens of times over 80 years. Often these experiments are conducted by university oversight with no approval from the statutory Institutional Review Boards. This violates US Law, Title 45 CFR 46, called the common rule, which applies to 17 US agencies that conduct human experiments. As such it jeopardizes US research grants. Harvard University gets $500 million each year. Over ten years that is $5 billion. But the US Office of Human Research Protection at the NIH, refuses to investigate and demands evidence, and the names of the principal researchers.

One portable unit is the size of a VCR, that uses rechargeable batteries. Others are as small as a Mini DV Camcorder, that includes through-the-wall heat sensing for targeting the individual.
