US Military in Bahrain, Required To Observe Ramadan

[From article]
While not required to fast during Ramadan, in Bahrain, Americans can be fined or detained by local authorities for eating, drinking or smoking in public when off-base during daylight hours.
Navy officials are requiring U.S. personnel to dress more conservatively off-base during Ramadan. Although not a requirement by Bahraini authorities, the Navy is demanding that men wear long-sleeved shirts and women wear sleeved blouses that cover their elbows. Also, men must wear long trousers, and women should wear pants or skirts that cover the knees.
Base cultural advisers have spent the last few weeks conducting Ramadan briefs to educate Americans about the holy month. Ali Hassan briefed about 150 personnel Tuesday about Islam, the lunar calendar and customs and traditions during Ramadan.
[. . .]
Most restaurants will be closed except those in 4- and 5-star hotels.
[. . .]
Arabs are good hosts and may offer you food or refreshments during daylight hours. Such offers should be declined.
All consumption of alcohol by U.S. military personnel is prohibited at any off base public venue in the U.S. Navy 5th Fleet Area of Responsibility during Ramadan.
It’s customary to say ‘Ramadan Kareem’ during Ramadan.

Hillary Clinton Fired For Obstruction During Watergate Probe

[From article]
Clinton’s boss, Jerry Zeifman, the general counsel and chief of staff to the Watergate Committee, claims he fired her because she was working to impede the investigation and undermine Nixon’s defense.
“Hillary’s lies and unethical behavior goes back farther — and goes much deeper — than anyone realizes,” Zeifman told Fox News in 2008. When asked why he fired Clinton, Zeifman responded, “Because she is a liar.”
[. . .]
The book, from Skyhorse Publishing, also contains anecdotes about: How Nixon put the moves on Jackie Kennedy one night. How at least four of the Watergate burglars were on the ground in Dallas when JFK was killed. And why there is no Deep Throat.

US Senator McConnell Wins One Over Obama

From article]
Republicans argued they were meeting during the recess — in so-called pro forma sessions every three days — and still maintained control over the confirmation process. But the administration said the pro forma sessions held by the Senate every three days during the intrasession break were only a sham designed to keep Obama from filling the posts.
At the meeting McConnell's team agreed they were left with two options to proceed, since Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid would not authorize an institutional lawsuit on behalf of the Senate. Senate Republicans concerned about Obama's use of recess appointments could either sue as individual members, or they could join a private party case as a group.
[. . .]
The liberal Justice Breyer's implicit criticism of the move from Obama, who often touts his credentials as a former constitutional law professor, was particularly biting. Breyer wrote, simply, that only the Senate could decide when it was in recess — not the president.

Kansas Man Sues For Freedom From Nursing Home

[From article]
Flentie is upfront about taking numerous medications, including several for bipolar disorder, which he said he has managed well for 20 years. His prescriptions include Prozac, Elavil, Risperdal and Lamictal. He takes two other medications for prostate problems, one for blood pressure, and a battery of vitamins.
[. . .]
In late November 2011, he fell, followed within a few days by another fall in early December.
[. . .]
At St. Luke’s North Hospital, two doctors in quick course evaluated Flentie and diagnosed him with bipolar disorder with psychotic symptoms and dementia.
[. . .]
The next day, McNellis examined Flentie again and in court papers declared, “Mr. Flentie is not competent to care for himself.”
Nor did he think Flentie was competent to take care of his own finances.
Given the option to choose whether Flentie was “disabled” or “partially disabled,” McNellis wrote “Yes, disabled” by virtue of dementia and bipolar disorder. He recommended that Flentie be placed in “assisted living” as the most appropriate and least restrictive environment.
[. . .]
Flentie was placed under full guardianship, his assets under conservatorship, and never returned to his home.
From the hospital, he went directly to a residential care facility. At that point, he began his two-year battle for his freedom, aided by friends.

Black Manager At Paint Store Sues For Naming Paint Colors About Him

[From article]
Clinton Tucker, who managed online sales for Benjamin Moore, which is owned by the conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway, said that he was bothered by the names of several of the company’s paint colors, “Clinton Brown,” “Tucker Chocolate,” and “Confederate Red.”
“Being a black man named Clinton Tucker, the plaintiff found this to be extremely racially offensive,” reads the complaint, filed in Essex County Court.

On its website, Benjamin Moore describes “Tucker Chocolate” as “capturing the 1798 color requested by St. George Tucker for his home facing Courthouse Green, this deep brown is classic and understated.”

One DC Judge Unafraid of Obama, Holder, Johnson

[From article]
Earlier today, attorneys for Judicial Watch sought a courtroom status conference “as soon as possible to discuss the IRS’s failure to fulfill its duties to this court under the law, as well as other ramifications of this lawsuit.” It took Judge Sullivan just a few hours to grant the hearing.
Now the IRS will have to talk to Judge Sullivan about all this—and he has the power to do something about it.
Judge Sullivan is the judge who held federal prosecutors in contempt, dismissed an unjust indictment against a United States Senator, and publicly excoriated the Department of Justice. He also had the moral conviction, courage and gumption to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Justice Department and the individual prosecutors.

Extremist Sunni ISIS Not Strong Enough To Control Iraq

[From article]
In locations wherein they’ve been able to raise their flags, it was primarily because of lack of interest and resistance on the part of the local population, which at times even assisted the organization because of the deep resentment against the administration of Nouri al-Maliki, who is perceived as a corrupt tyrant that blatantly discriminates against the Sunni citizens.
[. . .]
It is clear that a force such as this isn’t enough to conquer and administer Baghdad, which the Maliki administration, not to mention its residents, has a fundamental interest in protecting. Furthermore, in actuality, ISIS does not have the ability to fully control the other regions in Iraq, to say nothing of imposing upon the residents the traditional Islamic regime to which they aspire.

White Woman Student Murdered by Former Black Lover, Who Owed Her Money

[From article]
A couple have been charged in connection to the savage murder of a Minnesota college student whose body bearing 22 knife wounds was found dumped in a field last fall.
Shavelle Chavez-Nelson, 32, and Ashley Marie Conrade, 24, were both charged Friday with second-degree intentional murder in the slaying of 20-year-old University of Minnesota student Anarae Schnuk.
The victim was reported missing September 23, 2013. A week later, her naked body turned up in a ditch next to a cornfield in Rice County.
[. . .]
The 32-year-old was brought before a judge from prison, where he is serving a nine-year sentence for an unrelated burglary.
[. . .]
Officials working on the case said they have found ample DNA evidence on items Nelson had brought to the home of his estranged wife in St Paul after the killing.
The recovered black plastic bags contained Schnuk's white UMN jacket covered in blood and bearing more than 20 holes in it and other items of clothing, which looked as if they had been cut off a body.
[. . .]
Ms Schnuk was last seen outside Nina's Grill with her ex-boyfriend and Conrade, 24, of Rosemount, in the early hours of September 22. Police believe she asked to meet with Nelson to talk about the $5,000 he owed her.
[. . .]
Anarae Schnuk, an accomplished chess player, met Nelson at a bus summer in the summer 2012. He lied to the college student that he was a stock broker.
When Schnuk learned the truth about his criminal past, she stuck by him, believing she could help him turn a new leaf.
She broke up with him a few months later when she discovered that Nelson had been living with a woman and the pair had a child together.

Three Israelis, One U.S. Citizen Found Dead in West Bank, Palestinians Defile Ambulance

The leader's angry words came hours after the search for Eyal Yifrach, 19; Gilad Shaar, 16; and Naftali Frenkel, also 16, who were snatched while hitchhiking, ended in the West Bank, where Hamas operates. Sources said the bodies were found in a shallow grave in an open field in the West Bank village of Halhul, just north of Hebron.
[. . .]
The three youths disappeared as they were heading home from a West Bank religious school. Israeli officials said at the time that one of the teens called a police emergency line around 10:25 p.m. local time and said: "We've been kidnapped." They were not heard from again.
Frenkel holds dual U.S.-Israeli citizenship.

Head Injuries to Bike Riders Most Prevalent

This article is about 18 months old. But the figured raise an issue of why the media and government focus on head injuries in professional football. If a person does not wear a helmet when riding his bike and gets injured he has only himself to blame. Can't sue oneself. But the NFL has a lot of money, especially the owners. They can be sued and are lucrative targets for hungry lawyers. It is a similar quandary why the focus on war deaths. Usually under 10,000. But every year in the U.S. 90,000 to 100,000 innocent persons die due to medical negligence. That is something that can a be fixed. So why so little media attention and interest from government?

[From article]
According to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, cycling accidents played a role in about 86,000 of the 447,000 sports-related head injuries treated in emergency rooms in 2009. Football accounted for 47,000 of those head injuries, and baseball played a role in 38,394.
Cycling was also the leading cause of sports-related head injuries in children under 14, causing 40,272 injuries, roughly double the number related to football (21,878).

US House Speaker Responds to Obama's Threats

It is just one outrage after another with this administration. A new scandal is necessary each week to divert attention from last week's scandal by any of the dumbed down journalists, voters and taxpayers who might have some memory still operating. Wait unto next week when Obama explains that every black vote will be the equivalent of two white votes in all national elections. Adding that this was approved by Eric "White people are cowards" Holder. Obama-Holder-Johnson Triumvirate sets the standards for lawlessness in the nation. Notice how local and state police agencies follow as best they can ignoring laws. Courts have relaxed standards too. Wait until ordinary citizens follow the lead of 11 to 40 million illegal aliens ignoring the laws of the land. It will be an exciting period to be alive. Something like the reign of terror during the French Revolution.

[From article]
"In our conversation last week, I told the president what I have been telling him for months: the American people and their elected officials don't trust him to enforce the law as written. Until that changes, it is going to be difficult to make progress on this issue. The crisis at our southern border reminds us all of the critical importance of fixing our broken immigration system. It is sad and disappointing that – faced with this challenge – President Obama won't work with us, but is instead intent on going it alone with executive orders that can't and won't fix these problems.
"The president’s own executive orders have led directly to the humanitarian crisis along the Southern border, giving false hope to children and their families that if they enter the country illegally they will be allowed to stay.

AZ Teacher Who Criticized Common Core, Cursed At Online By Education Officials

[From article]
Emails back and forth among high-ranking Arizona Department of Education officials show that state officials intimidated a Tucson fifth-grade teacher and, in one instance, called him “a f*cktard” because he criticized the state’s implementation of Common Core.
The emails are now public because of a Freedom of Information request submitted by the Arizona Daily Independent.
The teacher, Brad McQueen, originally raise the ire of state education officials in February when he penned an anti-Common Core op-ed in the Independent (that later went viral locally).
McQueen, a 10-year teaching veteran, had worked on the state’s Common Core-aligned standardized tests. In the op-ed, he criticized Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer and state education bureaucrats for, among much else, “willingly handed over control” of educational standards in exchange for increased federal funding.

Failure of Journalists and Universities

[From article]
America staggers from one contrived disaster to another, as Barack—god of chaos—cackles up his sleeve while pretending to be an icon of rectitude, restraint and moral probity. Meanwhile, the stable of mainstream journalists cheer as if Obama just cured cancer. The list of president-made debacles swells daily. Today it’s the sea of illegals surging across domestic borders, quickly whisked into the country, whereas overseas we’re informed the world’s first terror-state is being implemented between Iraq and Syria. Yesterday, it was the trading of 5 Taliban generals for an army deserter. Tomorrow it could be any number of currently unfathomable decisions by Barack, knowing full well the GOP does not have the stones to impeach him.
[. . .]
Judge Richard Posner, in Public Intellectuals, A Study in Decline, claims that a large problem in the failure of public intellectuals is their overspecialization at the university. But more important than this is Julien Benda’s claims that intellectuals must refrain from bias when disseminating information. Yet the most obvious aspect of most public intellectuals is their very obvious affection for Marx’s ideas.
[. . .]
Ben Knights, in The Idea of the Clerisy in the Nineteenth Century, outlines the foundation for the modern intellectual. In 19th century England developed the notion of a secular intellectual elite, or ‘clerisy’. These educated writers sought to be freed from former constrictions. Instead, like the members of a new, secular priesthood, they sought to find transcendent values and the very best in national culture and then pass it on to the society at large.
[. . .]
How is it possible so many prominent intellectuals are ignorant or dismissive of history? No Marxist nation has ever prospered except in lawlessness and murders. Aron writes, “Despotism has so often been established in the name of liberty that experience should warn us to judge parties by their practices rather than their preachings.”
[. . .] Only if US journalists tell the truth, to the best of their abilities, can Americans have any hope of understanding the complex detail of current events. If not, they are merely mute canaries in a coal mine. [. . .]

For example, no real background study of Barack Obama’s life was ever commissioned by any liberal media group before his election. We still have many major holes in his story.
[. . .]
Despite the incredible number of failures by Barack, we still have no real reporting out of the mainstream media. This is despite how much more dangerous the world has become since he took office. So the obvious question is what kind of failure would be enough for the mainstream media to abandon ship? Or is all failure which is seen as harming the US really acceptable [. . .] in past ages intellectuals (clercs) engaged in a disinterested search for universal truths; they searched for ideals that transcended the needs of the state or society in which they lived. In recent times, however, intellectuals have become more and more the handmaiden of political and national causes [. . .] Our age is indeed the age of the intellectual organization of political hatreds. It will be one of its chief claims to notice in the moral history of humanity. Ever since these systems have been in existence, they have consisted in establishing for each passion that it is the agent of good in the world and that its enemy is the genius of evil. But today these passions desire to establish this not only politically, but morally, intellectually and aesthetically.”
[. . .]
So the unacceptable choice is either to avoid the news altogether or accept being misled in story after story.
[. . .]
The problem with literally the entire world of liberalism is that emotion has replaced logic, historical study, and common sense. In other words, entire lifetimes are wasted by these people arguing emotionally based beliefs which are utterly disprovable and disproved.

IRS Fined For Earlier Abuses Revealing Same Sex Marriage Donors

[From article]
In all of this past week’s flurry IRS news: Lois Lerner and other IRS’ officials hard drives crashing, emails showing Lerner targeted Sen. Chuck Grassley, and the IRS Commissioner telling Congress they’ve done nothing wrong — some news got lost in the shuffle.
The IRS did do something very wrong, admitted it and paid a significant fine to resolve it.
[. . .]

Lois Lerner

This admission by the IRS goes back to the vicious fight over the Prop 8 vote in California where HRC and its allies resorted to releasing donation information of individuals and harassing those traditional marriage supporters at their homes and businesses.[. . .]
As a long-time vocal critic of the radical left-wing politics the Human Rights Campaign endorses in the name of gay and lesbian Americans, I am not surprised that HRC is knee-deep in Nixonian tactics of the Obama IRS. It is a shame that those who claim to have the high ground in “the new civil rights” movement don’t respect the basic privacy and free speech freedoms of all Americans.

Liberal Policies Harm Black Americans

[From article]
Good intentions aside, which efforts have facilitated black advancement, and which efforts have impeded it?
Many liberals today don’t seem particularly interested in asking this question, even though 50 years into the war on poverty the picture isn’t pretty.
[. . .]
Obama was doing exactly what liberals have been conditioning blacks to do since the 1960s, which is to blame black pathology on the legacy of slavery and Jim Crow laws. And the president is conditioning the next generation of blacks to do the same.
[. . .]
Meanwhile, the civil-rights movement of King has become an industry that does little more than monetize white guilt.
[. . .]
Liberalism has also succeeded, tragically, in convincing blacks to see themselves first and foremost as victims.
[. . .]
And black liberals are all too happy to hustle guilty whites. The result, manifest in everything from black studies programs to black media to black politics, is an obsession with racial slights real or imagined.

New York University Sells Its Soul For Sharia Money

[From article]
While UAE might appear relatively secular to outsiders, the truth is that the nation is still ruled by Sharia law. Don’t be fooled by the word “law.” The law of the US Constitution serves to protect individuals and their freedom, the law of Sharia serves to control individuals and limit their freedoms.
[. . .]
Mesmerized by the glory of having their institutions be the first to break into the Middle East, NYU and Guggenheim did little independent due diligence. They bought into the illusion that the UAE, with its man-made islands and skyscraper hotels, is a free country.
Of course, money is the primary motive for this ignorance.

Wealthy People Share Delusions of Poverty

But it not just Democrats. Republicans and academics share the same delusions

[From article]
Why do all these exceedingly well-off people keep trying to convince us we’ll see them at the dollar store?
It’s all part of the increasingly delusional myth Democrats tell themselves that they are the tribunes of the middle class.
[. . .]
Democrats earn their money in ways that aren’t available to most Americans. Yet even for Democrats, the Clintons got rich in an exotic way. They accumulated something like $100 million not by building a business or inventing something or even writing some hit songs. Their entire fortune came from political celebrity. (Their daughter has even accumulated $15 million by being the offspring of political celebrities. Or did you think NBC News paid her $600,000 a year because of her obvious broadcasting ability?)

Drug dealers create more middle-class jobs than these people do.

Las Vegas Running Out of Clean Water

[From article]
But, as with many things in Sin City, the apparently endless supply of water is an illusion. America’s most decadent destination has been engaged in a potentially catastrophic gamble with nature and now, 14 years into a devastating drought, it is on the verge of losing it all.
“The situation is as bad as you can imagine,” said Tim Barnett, a climate scientist at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. “It’s just going to be screwed. And relatively quickly. Unless it can find a way to get more water from somewhere Las Vegas is out of business. Yet they’re still building, which is stupid.”
[. . .]
“The drought is like a slow spreading cancer across the desert. It’s not like a tornado or a tsunami, bang. The effects are playing out over decades. And as the water situation becomes more dire we are going to start having to talk about the removal of people (from Las Vegas).”
Mr Mrowka cited Lake Las Vegas, a mega-resort where stars including Celine Dion live, as one of the “most egregious examples” of wasting water.
[. . .]
But Mr Mrowka said: “The Colorado is essentially a dying river. Ultimately, Las Vegas and our civilisation in the American South West is going to disappear, like the Indians did before us.”

Obama's Lawlessness Continues

[From article]
President Obama has demonstrated, time and again, that he has no respect for the Constitution's limitations on his power. Despite his oath of office, to see that the laws are faithfully executed, Barack Obama has unilaterally changed welfare reform laws, by eliminating the work requirement passed by Congress during the Clinton administration.
He has repeatedly and unilaterally changed or waived provisions of the ObamaCare law passed by Congress during his own administration.
President Obama has ordered Border Patrol agents not to carry out provisions of the immigration laws that he does not like. We see the results today in the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants entering the country unimpeded.
President Obama's oath of office obviously means no more to him than his oft-repeated promise that "you can keep your own doctor" under ObamaCare.
Why do we have a Constitution of the United States if a president can ignore it without any consequences?
[. . .]
With neither the Constitution, nor the voters, nor the threat of impeachment to stop him, Barack Obama has clear sailing to use his powers however he chooses.
Far from seeing his power diminish in his last years, President Obama can extend his power even beyond the end of his administration by appointing federal judges who share his disregard of the Constitution and can enact his far-left agenda into law from the bench, when it cannot be enacted into law by the Congress.

Lack of Historical Perspective Led to Misguided Middle East Policies

[From article]
Those who are ready to blame President George W. Bush for everything bad that has happened since he left office should at least acknowledge that he was a patriotic American president who did what he did for the good of the country — an assumption that we can no longer safely make about the current occupant of the White House.
[. . .]
We haven't yet announced when we are going to pull our troops out of Germany or Japan, and World War II was over more than 60 years ago. Turning those militaristic countries around was one of the great achievements in human history. Their neighboring countries have been able to enjoy a peace and security that they had not known for generations.
[. . .]
To hold elections for the sake of holding elections is to abdicate responsibility for the sake of appearances.
[. . .]
Today, with terrorists threatening to at least fragment Iraq, if not take it over, it is a sobering thought that Barack Obama and his key advisers have a track record of having been wrong about Iraq and other foreign policy issues for years, going back before they took office — and no track record of learning from their mistakes.

Upside Down World Of Washington DC Immigration Priorities

[From article]
Amnesty is not some esoteric concept. It means that you are not going to be punished for breaking the law — and that simply brings laws into contempt. Denying citizenship is not a punishment because crossing the border illegally does not entitle you to citizenship. Providing a legal status short of citizenship is not punishment either.
There is no requirement for either amnesty or for citizenship that President Obama cannot ignore or dilute unilaterally, as he has ignored or diluted existing immigration laws, as well as other laws. Barack Obama is the biggest reason to pass no immigration "reform" laws until after he is gone.
[. . .]
It doesn't matter what immigration policies you believe in if you don't control your borders — and the vast numbers of minors flooding across our borders today show that the Obama administration has no intention of controlling the borders. They are more concerned with controlling the border guards and ordering them not to take pictures that show the public what is happening.

Obama's Weakness Encourages Foreign Power Abuses

[From article]
In 2012, in the wake of a well-planned military assault on sovereign US territory in Benghazi and the first murder of a US ambassador in a third of a century, the Obama Administration chose to pretend that it was something to do with an obscure YouTube video. The President of Libya blamed the attack on Ansar al-Sharia and linked them to al-Qaeda's Maghreb affiliate, but Obama, Mrs Clinton, Susan Rice and their court eunuchs in the media covered their ears and said, "Can't hear you." So the men who sacked the diplomatic mission and killed its staff are all still walking around, but back in California the maker of the unseen video was tossed in jail where he languishes to this day. Again, if you were in Teheran, Moscow, Kabul, Damascus, this seemingly perverse misdirection told you something more about how committed America was to that passivity: The superpower's preferred foreign-policy posture, even after a direct, bloody assault on its own territory, was to call "Check, please!" and head for the exit.
[. . .]
Obama has stayed consistently "unbelievably small" from Cairo to Benghazi to Damascus to Mosul, even as the dominoes are getting bigger. America is leaving from behind - going, going, gone.

Obama's War Words Mislead

[From article]
The Afghan end of this thing is the nearest to a conventional war there is. A sovereign state was invaded and its government toppled. But the toppled party never quite went away, and they're assuredly going to be part of Afghanistan's post-US future. When Obama says this is how wars end, he's wrong. Wars end either by being won or lost or drawn.
[. . .]
One of the justifications offered for the Bergdahl trade is that his captors were threatening to kill him. So that's not a "prisoner exchange" between lawful combatants but a hostage negotiation with terrorists. Every civilized nation says it will not negotiate with terrorists, but sometimes, whatever their protestations to the contrary, governments wind up doing exactly that. And, when they do, terrorists wind up walking out of their cells as free men.
[. . .]
Watch that Rose Garden ceremony again and ask yourself Shannon Allen's question: Which guy is the hero? Pace Susan Rice, there are three dishonorable men in that short photo-op: a deserter who broke his oath, a father who sympathizes publicly with the enemy ...and a president lying before the nation, to make them complicit in that dishonor. Mr Obama is unworthy of the men who fight on "his" behalf.

U.S. Education Wildly Successful, Dumbing Down Population

[From article]
The National Assessment of Educational Progress tests students in grades four, eight and 12 on several broad subject areas every few years. Just 20 percent of fourth-graders, 17 percent of eighth-graders and 12 percent of 12th-graders were at grade-level proficiency in American history in the 2010 exams. Because students don't learn American history, they learn little about our founding principles and they fail to learn why America is an exceptional nation. But that's a part of the progressive/liberal agenda. If Americans knew and understood our founding principles and values, special interest groups and politicians couldn't run roughshod over our liberties.
[. . .]
I'd say that the education establishment has been successful beyond its wildest dreams in reducing Americans' ability to think and therefore causing them to have little knowledge of or love for our founding principles.

Reparations Argument Is Specious

[From article]
One of the most ignored facts about slavery's tragic history — and it's virtually a secret today — is that slavery was a worldwide institution for thousands of years. It did not become a moral issue until the 18th century. Plus, the moral crusade against slavery started in the West, most notably England.
I think the call for slavery reparations is simply another hustle. Advocates are not demanding that government send checks to individual black people. They want taxpayer money to be put into some kind of reparations fund from which black leaders decide who receives how much and for what purpose.

Should Ill Persons be Allowed To Try Unapproved-by-The FDA Drugs?

[From article]
The FDA's mission is to ensure the safety and effectiveness of pharmaceuticals. In doing so, FDA officials can make two types of errors. They can approve a drug that has unanticipated dangerous side effects, or they can disapprove or delay a drug that is both safe and effective. FDA officials have unequal incentives to avoid these two types of errors. If the FDA official errs on the side of under-caution — approving a dangerous drug — the victims are visible, and he is held directly accountable. If he errs on the side of over-caution — holding up approval of a safe and effective drug — who's to know? The cost and the victims are invisible. Politicians and bureaucrats prefer invisible victims.

Palin, West, Santorum Encourage Tea Party To Victory

[From article]
In conversations with attendees, and from the stage as Former Governor Sarah Palin, Sen. Rick Santorum, and Rep. Allen West addressed the crowd of about 500, the anger about Cochran's controversial electoral tactics was palpable.
[. . .]
“That was a disgrace,” West said. “That was not standing on principal that’s not standing up for what you believe in, that was just a career politician that just wants to go back to Washington D.C. That was despicable, it’s immoral and it’s disgusting.”
Palin also disparaged the Republican party for their actions in Mississippi.
“Well shoot, our own party was proving this last week, to potentially manipulate and exterminate the integrity of a primary election,” she said, pointing out that the “the bloated political clash from both sides were trying to discourage people aligned with the Tea Party.
[. . .]
Palin reminded activists that the results should inspire them to redouble their efforts, pointing out that the establishment politicians would try to discourage them.
“It does make a difference,” she said. “What you are doing makes a difference and now more than ever we need to ramp it up. Don’t retreat, we gotta reload.”
In spite of their frustration, Palin soon had the crowd laughing as she peppered her speech with political jokes and taking shots against President Obama and his allies.
[. . .]
“Us bitter clingers and wingers, we ignored those yappin' little lapdogs in the media and with a new social media kind of reporting you know we were able to kick those little varmints away, we were able to ignore what it was that they were saying,” she said.
Palin held up Sen. Ted Cruz as an example of a Washington politician that was fighting for them, and explained that it was more important than ever to send him allies in his fight against the Washington establishment.
“He is there for a reason not a season, and that’s what we need more of,” she said. “We need to send the good guys reinforcements to take the battle to Capitol Hill for us.”

NJ Man With Multiple Arrests in 3 States, Busted

Here is a hard-working thoughtful young man. He takes time from his busy schedule to relocate items for his clients. Unappreciative, and unconvinced they call it theft. Nonetheless, no one was watching this enterprising young man. He traveled to three states helping others lose their belongings, in order to help them get free from material wealth. No police, no crime families. No Communists and no Harvard University campus police were watching him. He was under the proverbial radar. How quaint and different the public safety priorities are in Cambridge, Massachusetts. There on property owned and operated by the President and Fellows of Harvard College, crime family associates, Communists, local police employees, FBI informants, take turns harassing an elder (70-year-old) white man about who they all say "He's crazy." They provoke, insult, intimidate, threaten, ridicule, humiliate, and broadcast relentless character assassination. For 43 years they keep him under 24/7 surveillance, disturb his sleep every one or two hours. They cause his computer to crash 30 to 40 times per hour. They say "He's unimportant." Harvard University lawyers repeatedly remind him, "No one reads your blog."Useful idiots for local politicians say "He's a coward." Is that Eric "White people are cowards" Holder's idea?

VA Gave Bonuses to Negligent Executives, Spent $420 million on Solar Panels

[From article]
Veterans Administration hospitals have spent at least $420 million on solar panels and windmills while vets wait months — or even lay dying — to see a doctor.
In total, VA hospitals reported 23 deaths due to 76 instances of delayed care, anApril 2014 VA fact sheet said. Then on June 5, Acting Veteran Affairs Secretary Sloan Gibson revealed that at least 18 Phoenix patients died while waiting for treatment on a secret list kept off the books. It is not clear if that number is in addition to the 23 deaths reported earlier. During the past month, the scandal has resulted in the resignations of both the VA secretary and the leaders of its health care component.
[. . .]
A 2012 audit by the VA’s Southwest Health Care Network revealed that VA administrators have known about the fabricated reports for two years. That audit went public only after the Arizona Republic received the document in response to a Freedom of Information Act request.

Woman Free From Abusive Husband, Who Refuses Religious Divorce

[From article]
A young Orthodox Jewish mother claims today she bravely fled an abusive and controlling husband and reveals the years of physical torture and mind games she says she endured as she fights to free herself as an ‘Agunah’ - chained wife - from the bonds of their religious marriage.
Rivky discovered on her wedding night aged 18 that Yoel Weiss, the ‘charming and spiritual’ man she believed she had married, was a violent and malevolent force who took pleasure in watching her suffer.
In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, Rivky Stein repeats claims made in court papers and explains how her naivety led her into her nightmare marriage.
At her home in Brooklyn, Rivky, now 24, said: ‘From the first night, I knew I was trapped. He changed to who he really was. He made it very clear to me that he owned me. His mentality was that I was his possession and that anything he said I had to do.'
Immediately the marriage turned into one of fear and control with Weiss monitoring Rivky’s every move, she claims.

EXCLUSIVE - 'Raped, tormented and locked in a room to starve with her two babies': The shocking claims of a young Jewish mother who found the courage to flee her husband but is still 'chained' because he refuses to grant religious divorce
Rivky Stein was 18 when she wed Yoel Weiss, then 26, in an Orthodox Jewish ceremony. He promised a matchmaker $18,000 to arrange the marriage
She says was locked away in a room with her two children. 'We got roughly two meals a day, normally reused chicken soup'
during one alleged rape, Rivky told MailOnline: 'He comes in naked and said "let’s go". I said no, so he took my hands, twisted them behind my back and dragged me to our bedroom'
Weiss refuses to give Rivky a 'get,' or religious divorce
Refusal by husbands to grant their wives a get is a widespread issue in the Orthodox Jewish community

US House Committee Reveals IRS Targeted Republican U.S. Senator

[From article]
Washington, DC – Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) announced the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) targeting of conservative individuals includes a sitting United States Senator. According to emails reviewed by the Committee under its Section 6103 authority, which allows the Committee to review confidential taxpayer information, Lois Lerner sought to have Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) referred for IRS examination.

“We have seen a lot of unbelievable things in this investigation, but the fact that Lois Lerner attempted to initiate an apparently baseless IRS examination against a sitting Republican United States Senator is shocking,” said Camp. “At every turn, Lerner was using the IRS as a tool for political purposes in defiance of taxpayer rights. We may never know the full extent of the abuse since the IRS conveniently lost two years of Lerner emails, not to mention those of other key figures in this scandal. The fact that DOJ refuses to investigate the IRS’s abuses or appoint a special counsel demonstrates, yet again, this Administration’s unwillingness to uphold the rule of law.”

Washington State Permits Illegal Aliens To Get Financial Aid Jeopardizing Others

[From article]
The form requires applicants to write “1” for “yes” or “2” for “no” if they accept the statement “I will file an application to become a permanent resident of the United States as soon as I am eligible to apply. I am also willing to engage in activities designed to prepare me for citizenship, including citizenship and civics review courses. I certify or declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of Washington that the foregoing information is true and correct.”
“I think it’s important to remember that [the] State Need Grant follows the same rules that are used for determining in-state tuition, and so that process has been in place in this state since 2003, and that includes the affidavit process and the documentation of residency,” Sharp said.
Research shows that illegal aliens are three times more likely to drop out of college than other students, which may be partly attributed to finances.
However, legislators argued that this sudden toll on the state financial aid system from including these students would make it harder for all students to get financial aid.

When Rich Become Poor; When Poor Become Rich

[From article]
Former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, are worth between $10 and $50 million, according to their financial disclosure forms – but taxpayers will still pony up nearly $1 million this year to fund their post-White House lifestyle.
Like the three other living former presidents, Jimmy Carter and the two George Bushes, Clinton receives a $201,000 annual pension. But that just scratches the surface of the government benefits he shares with his wife Hillary.
The total for 2014 also includes $157,000 for staff salaries and benefits, $414,000 for office space and $9,000 for phone bills.
In all, The Washington Post first reported, taxpayers are providing Clinton with $944,000 in post-presidential pay and benefits.
That tab was $1.28 million in 2002, the year after he left office, according to a Congressional Research Service report cited by the Post and the Washington Free Beacon.

Taxpayers will spend $944,000 to support Bill Clinton's lifestyle in 2014 as he claims he and Hillary are not 'out of touch' because they 'talk to people in our town'
Bill Clinton said Tuesday his wife's claim that they were 'dead broke' after his presidency was 'factually true'
He and Hillary are not 'out of touch,' he insisted, because they go to the grocery store and 'talk to people in our town'
An April Congressional Research Service report found that the federal government has spent $15.9 million on Bill Clinton's retirement since 2001
He got $1.28 million in benefits the year after he left office
Clinton said Tuesday that attacking his wife as a wealthy elite in the run-up to the 2016 election is 'the wrong debate'
This year Clinton's costs include a $201,000 pension, $157,000 for staff salaries and benefits, $414,000 for office space and $9,000 for phone bills
Former president George W. Bush spends even more, costing taxpayers $1.28 million this year and averaging 4 per cent more per year than Clinton
The government inexplicably budgeted $102,000 for Bush's telephone expenses in 2014, and planned to spend $135,000 more on furniture, computers, office supplies and other miscellany

There are two sorts of stock human dramas that play out in every age of history. The first concerns people who were once rich but are now discovering they are poor. The second is their opposite; people who were once poor who suddenly realize they are rich.
[. . .]
The problem of course is what happens when the long-rich go broke. The once-rich-now-bankrupt become worse than bust, they become ridiculous. A modern example is John Kerry who is making a beggar’s tour of the Middle East.

Eating plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables and whole grains helps prevent people from developing more than one chronic disease, new medical research shows.
The world-first research conducted by the University of Adelaide examined the link between diet and 11 chronic diseases, including anemia, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, diabetes, arthritis, hepatitis, coronary heart disease, asthma, stroke, fracture and cancer.
It found that people who eat a higher amount of fruit are less likely to develop any chronic disease, while a high intake of vegetables helps prevent people with one chronic disease from developing a second.

Now, most reporters and editors believe that their principal function is to prevent people from learning things they are better off not knowing. Day after day, they run interference for their party, the Democrats. Blockading inconvenient stories from making the news is job number one
