Ivy League drama: Recent Yale graduate Tyler Carlisle (below) jumped from an apartment building to his death just moment after stabbing fellow student Alexander Michaud, 21 (above).

According to the report, the men "were engaged in a threesome with a female Yale undergraduate, whose attentions on Michaud apparently inspired Carlisle to stab his longtime friend in the neck and then kill himself."

Previously, the presence of the female at the scene of the crime had not been reported or associated with the case, and thus her name has been redacted. The incident happened at Carlisle's apartment on a street running through the center of campus, and was reportedly fueled by drinking.

A recent Yale University graduate committed suicide by jumping from the ninth floor of an off-campus apartment building just moments after stabbing a fellow student early Tuesday morning.
New Haven police say it happened around 5.30am at Taft Apartments on College Street, located across from the Ivy League campus.

His LinkedIn page indicates that he majored in philosophy with a focus in political theory and justification for 'Conservative politics.'
Last year, Carlisle managed the campaign of Fairfield ophthalmologist Dr Joe Bentivegna, who unsuccessfully ran on the Republican ticket for the 4th Congressional District seat.

Alexander Michaud, Yale class 2017, was a member of the comedy and a capella group Mixed Company of Yale.
According to the Yale Daily News, both Michaud and Carlisle were active members of the Party of the Right, a constituent party of the Yale Political Union.
On its website, the political organization is described as 'the Right-most of the seven Parties in the Yale Political Union.'
