Two NYPD Officers Dead After Separate Tragic Accidents

Royston Ferguson, who worked in the Brooklyn North Precinct, was riding his motorcycle southbound on Rockaway Parkway in Canarsie at about 6:45 p.m. when he was struck by an SUV driven by a school safety agent, according to law-enforcement sources.
The 35-year-old officer was riding a 2008 Ducati motorcycle when he was hit by the Kia Sedona making a U turn on Rockaway Parkway.
He was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he died.

In the other tragedy, a police officer from Manhattan’s 33rd Precinct was killed in a hiking accident in Ulster County, a source said.
The officer, who served for three years in the Washington Heights precinct, was hiking in Minnewaska State Park Preserve in Ulster County on Monday when she fell and suffered a head injury, according to a law-enforcement source.
The woman was taken to Kingston Hospital in Kingston, where she died from her injuries.
