Gang of Black Teens Attack White Family in Alabama. Journalists Omit Part About Race, More

[From article]
“From what we understand, it happened between 8:30 and 9 p.m., after First Fridays was over and the vendors had started going home,” said Florence police Detective Shannon Harris, who is investigating the incident.
He said the man’s eye was injured, and he was attacked with a Taser during the incident. Harris said the man’s son was not injured.
According to reports, the man went to Wilson Park to get his son after First Fridays had ended, and he and the boy were walking toward their car.
Police said apparently the teen was approached from behind and attacked.
“His father then stepped in to try to stop (the assault), and that’s when the juveniles attacked him,” Harris said. “We were told a large crowd of teens, between 20 and 30.”

Prosecutors say the August 2013 attack on Jesse Downs on a Haverhill street was completely random and unprovoked. They say McCray and an associate kicked and punched the now 32-year-old Downs and slammed his head to the pavement.
McCray's lawyer said the attack was "impulsive" and his client did not intend to hurt Downs.
