Unchanging Human Nature Lags Behind Technology

Well said. There are so many well educated intelligent people using these new tools. Many of them lack common sense, no less integrity. Technology is amoral, and as the author states someone always comes along to find an evil use for it. Today cognitive scientists at the Whitehead Institute and Broad Institute at MIT spend hundreds of millions studying the brain and how it works. What if they eventually discover how it works? That will be the end of human freedom everywhere. Some control freak will use the science to control everyone for his or her own benefit. These people believe that technology can solve all the world's problems. They remain unaware that technology causes new problems that humans cannot control. Human nature is the same today as it was 5,000 years ago. It does not change as quickly as technology does.
