Harvard Conference Promotes One State Solution to Destroy Israel as a Jewish State
Harvard University's prestigious School of Government named after John F. Kennedy plans a conference supporting the destruction of Israel. Called "One State Conference: Israel/Palestine and the One State Solution," it promotes merging the populations of Gaza and the West Bank with the Israeli population.
The result would be to make Jews a minority within Israel. Promoters of this idea conveniently forget the reason for the creation of Israel, but also the extreme animosity and dedication of Hamas and Hezbollah terror leaders to destroy all Jews.
This conference is not a discussion of issues but a propaganda exercise to promote the destruction of Israel under the guise of Harvard's academic authority. Speakers and organizers are uniformly antagonistic toward Israel.
Stephen Walt, Robert and Renee Belfer Professor of International Affairs at the J. F. K. School of Government, said "a reporter['s job] is to reach out to a wide variety of interested parties." But this conference reaches out to only one side of a historically volatile issue. Walt added "this situation is not healthy for the United States or for Israel. If Americans get a one-sided diet of reportage about this conflict, we are going to misunderstand it and we are going to keep making stupid or ill-informed decisions. We're also going to be less capable of giving [. . .] sensible advice, which all states need from time to time. Israel's staunchest backers shouldn't want a cheerleader [. . .] in fact, the more you care about Israel, the more you want someone who'll tell you the truth, even when some of it might not be pleasant to read or hear. Otherwise, you might not find out what's really happening until it is too late."

In an academic setting Walt participates in a Palestinian propaganda conference. Does Harvard have different standards from reporters when seeking truth? Has Harvard become an advertising agency for the Palestinians? Why is there little discussion about the millions of US taxpayer dollars in grants to Palestinian leaders? Where did all of that money go? Why was so little used to improve the lives of poor Palestinians who are used by their alleged patrons as pawns in political and economic games?
Duncan Kennedy, Carter Professor of General Jurisprudence at Harvard's prestigious Law School, teaches a course titled "Israel/Palestine Legal Issues." The course summary includes these words: "For each issue, there will be some background readings and then presentation of opposing legal positions, [. . .] Issues covered will involve Israeli civil and constitutional law and international and humanitarian law; areas will include local government, land, water, education and taxation, as well as more familiar issues around the treatment of the Arab minority in Israel and legality of the occupation and its administration. Three classes will be devoted to the legal analysis of violent resistance and terrorism." He is a sponsor of this one-sided conference.
In a radio interview on Boston College radio December 9, 2008, with Sherif Fam, Kennedy says, his is a "left wing point of view." He said he became aware that his ideas on Israel that he grew up with turned out to be false, and that the Arab view turned out to be true. He praised Jimmy Carter's book about the Israeli Lobby. He said he is not sure what democracy would look like in Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. He suggests that the two state solution, without providing any details, is no longer possible. He stated that it is Israeli and US policy to prevent a unified Arab position from existing, that dividing Arabs is US policy. Isn't that what the KGB focused on in the US for 70 years? Have Communists been successful dividing whites against blacks, homosexuals against breeders, and women against men? Duncan's strategy is to not rely on Obama to help the Palestinians, but instead to focus on building support among American citizens. Is that what the conference on March 3 is all about?
He says the US is run by an elite just as all countries in the world. As a professor at Harvard Law School is he part of that elite? He says there are Catholics, Protestants and Jews in the US elite, but no Muslims. How easily he switches from Arab to Muslim. Does Professor Kennedy believe that all Arabs are Muslims? He says that the upper strata of American society is prone to anti Arab thinking. He praised Rashid Kalidi. Is Kalidi known for his even handed presentations of Israeli and Palestinian issues?
Here is propaganda passing for academic endeavor at Harvard. The Harvard faculty and the editors of the student daily newspaper at Harvard agree that academic freedom does not apply to unpopular speech at Harvard. This is another example of propaganda attacking Israel promoted at Harvard, which grows increasingly like a Stalinist university.
