Journalist Shows Ignorance

Gelzinis reveals he does not understand how the courts work. Court rules allow evidence and only evidence to be considered by the trier of fact, in this case a jury. Facts may not be admissible into evidence, a flaw which allows guilty defendants to be found not guilty. Attorneys who watched the trial stated that the prosecution did not provide evidence of how the baby died. They had no evidence that the mother did the crime. They had evidence of the mother's irresponsible and hateful actions. But that does not prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, the standard of the US system of jurisprudence. Get over it. It is disappointing to see prominent journalists join prominent government officials who lack a basic knowledge of how the courts work. Journalists fail to keep citizens informed because they are misinformed. It can be argued that not all journalists intentionally deceive civilians unlike politicians who do.

[From article]
"Shame on this jury for denying the obvious.
[. . .]
It’s a verdict that simply does not make any sense. It’s a verdict that is, in itself, a lie.
