Suicide Sheriff Refused to Seek Help Offered in His Prison

“I think Jimmy would have considered it a sign of weakness, or failure, to ask for help,” [Chuck] Moore said. Sheriff DiPaola presided over inmates who were required or encouraged to attend self help meetings in his jail. Others were taking psychiatric drugs and attending mandatory "therapy" sessions. How could he consider that a sign of weakness and allow it to exist in his jail?
