Charges against a Muslim man in Dearborn, Mich. rapidly escalated from possession of marijuana to being an ISIS supporter with plans to carry out a terror attack against a large Detroit church that holds up to 6,000 people.

At the end of last year, an undercover agent began interacting with Abu-Rayyan, which is when they learned that, among other weapons, he had an AK-47 machine gun with a 40-round magazine.
The Daily Mail reports:
While on social media he told an undercover agent that he “tried to shoot up a church one day. I don't know the name of it but it's close to my job.
“One of the biggest ones in Detroit. I had it planned out. I brought a bunch of bullets. I practiced a lot with it.
“I practiced reloading and unloading, but my dad searched my car one day and he found everything. He found the gun and the bullets and the mask I was going to wear.” (snip)
When investigators asked Abu-Rayyan why he allegedly wanted to target a church, he said: “It's easy, and a lot of people go there, plus people are not allowed to carry guns in church.”

Abu-Rayyan expressed regret that he never carried out his terror plans, stating that if he can’t “do jihad at the Middle East, I would do my jihad over here.”
In addition to his desire to shoot unarmed Christians in a church, Abu-Rayyan also stated that he wanted to murder the police officer who originally arrested him for speeding, drugs, and weapons charges, saying that he wanted to do a “martyrdom operation” and kill him.

This editorial by liberal censors suggests that John Lott's book, More Guns Less Crime, is fantasy. His research has not been refuted. The proposal to solve social problems i.e., violence by medicalizing it leads to totalitarianism. That is what the National Socialists did in Germany. Jews were declared to be vermin, a cause of illness. There is no appeal from a medical diagnosis. If Lott is wrong, demonstrate how. More people are killed by means other than guns each year. Pillows can be lethal. 90,000 to 100,000 people die each years due to medical negligence. Why should doctors be believed over criminal justice experts?

The Syracuse Post-Standard reported last week that since the law’s enactment, the state has collected 38,718 names in a database of individuals who have been found at-risk for owning guns by psychiatrists and other health professionals.
The paper said when the database was checked against a list of pistol permit holders in the state, there were 278 matches, less than 1 percent.

“It’s bigger than I thought,” Harvey Rosenthal, executive director of the New York Association of Psychiatric Rehabilition Services in Albany, told the Post-Standard. “It sends a message to those who might need care that there are a lot of people who are going to be in a database.”

NJ Gov. Christie Vetoes Gun Bill, Promotes More Psychiatry

Control freaks love psychiatry, a means of social control with no Due Process protections. It is a system of personal opinion masquerading as science. See, e.g., Boston University Psychology Professor Margaret Hagan's book, Whores of the Court, to see how arbitrary psychiatric illnesses are. Peter Breggin, Fred Baughman and Thomas Szasz wrote extensively about abuses of psychiatry. Liberals blame guns for violence. Conservatives blame mental illness. Neither have any causal connection to violence. The issue is criminal conduct, crime. Suggesting that persons with legal disabilities are criminals shows the nonsensical argument of this politician and his fellow control freaks. Shame on them.

Christie proposed a new standard for involuntary commitment of patients who are not necessarily deemed dangerous “but whose mental illness, if untreated, could deteriorate to the point of harm.”
Christie also proposed new standards for recommending patients for involuntary outpatient treatment, “streamlining” patient transfers between inpatient and outpatient programs, new training programs for first responders likely to encounter unstable people with “modern techniques for de-escalation,” and to require people forced to undergo mental health treatment to demonstrate “adequate medical evidence of suitability” if they want to get a firearms purchase identification card.
Let that wash over you again. Chris Christie is proposing what might be the most draconian mental health measures in the nation. He wants to codify involuntary commitment of people who, in the estimation of someone approved by the state, deems that your mental health could deteriorate to the point of harm.
Furthermore, anyone who wants to carry a weapon must undergo forced mental health “treatment” to ascertain whether someone approved by the state deems you fit for your God-given duty of self defense. Perhaps the belief that weapons are the best defense against tyranny would be reason enough not only to prohibit ownership of weapons, but also to involuntarily commit you to an institution.

The average American child is 13 times more likely to be murdered with a gun than are children in other industrialized countries, according to the Harvard School of Public Health. And that’s after the gun homicide rate in the United States went down 49 percent since its 1993 peak, paralleling a general decline in violent crime, as illustrated by a Pew Research Center analysis of government data.
More than 900 children in the U.S. die in homicides each year, the majority of whom (51 percent) are shot by a relative, according to an NBC News analysis of 25 years of homicide reports. The most recent analysis of U.S. homicide rates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that firearms were the cause of 11,078 deaths out of 16,259 homicides recorded in 2010.

While the Affordable Care Act forbids the collection and recording of data about patients’ gun ownership, the Obama administration has made it clear that health laws do not prevent physicians from disclosing necessary information about a patient to law enforcement, family members or other people when the patient is deemed to present a serious danger to himself or others. But the American Psychiatric Association has cautioned against laws requiring doctors to talk to law enforcement about patients who may appear to pose a threat to themselves or others.

Misguided Proposal On Safer Cities

No one can deny that Cambridge politicians say what makes them feel good. But their proposals don't always make sense achieving their stated goal. Rep. Rogers says he is a "supporter of any sensible steps that we can take to curb gun violence in our state." But he does not mention the Second Amendment which guarantees to law abiding citizens the right to bear arms to protect themselves and others from violence. John Lott's book, More Guns, Less Crime, shows that a society with more legal guns, is a sensible step to make the community safer. 

Rogers expresses a misguided, irrational, offensive notion demonizing persons with disabilities. By suggesting they are more likely to use guns for violence he advocates "sharing of records of adjudicated commitments for mental health and substance abuse with the National Instant Check System." Does he also want to share the medical records of rape victims, persons with STDs and leukemia? Do extremely normal people abstain from using guns for violence? Why not share their medical records too?

He recommends "Strengthen[ing] the provisions of school-based mental health services." Why not remove teachers and let psychiatrists run the schools? Psychiatrists are omniscient and morally superior to lesser beings, and have had their genes cleansed of mendacity, greed and sadism, unlike flawed teachers who need a union to protect their jobs. 

Rogers wants to "Increase funding for mental health and substance abuse disorders resources in urban areas." Does the Human Services Industrial Complex (MA State Rep. Marie Parente's term) make large campaign contributions to Rep. Rogers? Taxpayer grants for human services corporations are over $2 billion per year now. Instead of state police why not hire psychiatrists. They can take freedom without Due Process protections. (Think Justina Pelletier.) The Constitution was written by dead white men, and not on an iPad. What good is it today? It is old! 

Rogers states, "Given the ability to transport firearms across state lines, the hard truth is that we need national legislation." Isn't interstate commerce a mission of the U.S. Congress? If Congress refuses to act, why doesn't the Harvard Law School graduate in the White House issue an executive order repealing the Second Amendment? Who supports that ancient paragraph? Is that the soft truth?

Rogers proclaims he wants to move "toward a safer Massachusetts." But he refuses to recognize the essential role of a law abiding armed citizenry in order to achieve that goal. 90,000 patients die each year from medical negligence. Do guns used by persons with disabilities cause those deaths too?

About 4:15 PM Wednesday March 26, 2014, spoke by telephone with Mr. Allen, assistant to Rep. Rogers. I gave him my name and phone number. I began by noting I was calling about Rep. Rogers' essay in the Cambridge Chronicle on "gun safety" (as he called it); and that I'd like to speak with him; and that if Mr. Allen was speaking on his behalf that would be as good. He said he did not speak for Rogers and that he would relay my request. He asked for specifics, saying he was familiar with the essay. I explained who I was and what my interest is. I later said I called as a journalist about the essay about public policy, when Allen asked if I had spoken with my state rep. Marjorie Decker. I said it was not her essay. 

He expressed his views on the issues I raised and I reminded him I wanted Rogers' opinions not his. Again I asked if he spoke for Rogers. He again said he did not.

I was able to mention the first four quotes from his essay before he ended the conversation. In each, Mr. Allen began expressing his opinions. I did not stop him until he tried to shut me up claiming that the desired conclusions were issues everyone agrees with. How did he know that? I said I was interested in solving problems without an economic interest, trying to solve some of the serious problems. That the leaders were often uninformed because they do not read any books. Instead they consult experts, who cannot be relied on for truth or for impartial evidence. I again reminded him that I did not stop him from expressing his opinions but that I wanted Mr. Rogers' not his. He told me that he lives in Rep. Decker's district. I told him I was not a member of the NRA, and did not own a gun. I said I was not a member of a group that shared a community weapon. Allen asked me. “They do that?” I guess he was unaware of the clever tricks used by young people to avoid being caught with illegal weapons. 

At about 4:30 PM on Wednesday March 26, 2014, he covered his mouthpiece on the telephone and then said to me "I'm sorry I have to cut you off." He said he would tell Rep. Rogers I wanted to speak  with him. I thanked him and hung up.  I told him  I already responded to the essay with a letter but that the Chronicle seldom publishes my letters. I told him I petitioned the City Council, the state legislature, that I made videos, had a blog and did a TV show for five years. I told him I wrote bills for the legislature for four years. I also told him I've been talking with journalists, prosecutors, police and politicians for about 20 years about these issues. I said I no longer bother with some of them, but that I have had no experience with Rep. Rogers so I thought I'd try. Now I've had some experience with him too.

But a bioethicist, (what are the requirements to call oneself a bioethicist?) says, “The effort to block him [Murthy] by the NRA is absurd on its face, has no merit, is utterly politics, and is inimical to the health of all Americans,” Caplan said in an interview. “It’s ridiculous. It’s absurd." Those are rational, impersonal, arguments based on empirical evidence. NOT!!! "According to Caplan, however, the fierce opposition to gun control does not necessarily reflect the views of the broader American population." Oh? And how does the bioethicist know that? It may be that the bioethical conclusion is directly contrary to reality, to empirical evidence. Again what makes a bioethicist? Most importantly it was Chancellor Adolf Hitler in Germany whose administration medicalized social problems. Is that what bioethicists do? No facts, just declarations about medicine and public health. Who dares oppose that? Who could be so uncool? So unhip?

All these shootings are united by one clear thread: They all were committed by visibly crazy people, known to be nuts but not institutionalized.
Mental illness was blindingly clear in the cases of Seung-Hui Cho (Virginia Tech), Maj. Nidal Hasan (Fort Hood), Jared Loughner (Arizona shopping mall), James Holmes (Colorado movie theater), and a dozen other mass shootings in the past few decades.

Mass shootings don’t correlate with any of these things. They correlate with not locking up crazy people. We’re not worried about school kids being systematically gunned down by angry husbands, gang members or antique gun collectors. We’re worried about a psychotic showing up in a public place and shooting everyone in sight.
There’s absolutely no point in making it more difficult to buy firearms at gun shows — unless gun dealers have no trouble getting files on the mentally ill. Until we do that, we’re wasting our time.

Coulter refuses to recognize that anyone who disagrees with liberals is mentally ill. Under the Coulter doctrine it is essential to lock up people who disagree with liberals, and force them to take their medication. Liberals blame guns for mass shootings. Conservatives blame mental illness. Both are irrational. What happened to evil and criminals? Have they been vaporized by psychiatry?

When Aaron Alexis called the Rhode Island police a month ago to tell them that enemies were harassing him with a microwave machine, it was clear that he was suffering paranoid delusions and needed help. But the authorities let him go his merry way, evidently to sink deeper into the madness he mistook for reality.
Liberals blame shooting deaths on guns. Conservatives including the NRA blame shooting deaths on mental illness. Both are nonsensical. In addition Lowry accepts the FBI denial that microwave, electromagnetic radiation weapons exist. If that is so the North Koreans have exceeded the development of the United States in new technology. Perhaps the North Koreans were attacking Alexis. It certainly was not the CIA who huffed and puffed, tried and tried for 60 years spending millions if not billions on developing electromagnetic radiation weapons, but failed to do so.

The official was briefed on the investigation but not authorized to discuss it publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

An anonymous "federal official" (who may him or herself be delusional) accused the woman of being delusional. And the responsible journalist (who may also be delusional) reported what the anonymous "federal official" said. Nice. Are the readers who believe this nonsense delusional too? In this case did the guns do the killing? Or was it the police officers? Where are the delusional gun control advocates when you need them? And where are Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton?

So if the mental health industrial complex is "in complete breakdown" the answer is to round up the people accused of mental illness? Is that like putting all people with broken legs into jail; because the hospitals are not working properly? Liberal misguided policy is to blame guns for deaths of innocent people. The NRA blames mental illness. Neither makes sense. They might as well blame the devil. Human beings are evil and can do the most depraved things. The high priests of the psychiatric industry claim they have superior knowledge of which humans that might be. But they have been making  predictions in and out of court for 100 years and they are not getting better. Unless the government control freaks are willing to put all non police in jail to prevent murders by civilians there is no way to stop the meaningless killings. Compared with the annual deaths from  medical negligence this is nothing. 90,000 to 100,000 patients die each year due to medical negligence, which can be overcome by human diligence. Only God can change the nature of man.  This article is filed under "politics" on Fox news. Politics is another word for bull crap. Where are the facts to support any of this rubbish promoted by the NRA?
