Common Sense Exams

"The Taxi and Limousine Commission [will] ban drivers from [using] a mobile communications device while a taxi is in operation." (Editorial, "The cab crackdown," New York Post, October 17, 2009) This is common sense for drivers and the TLC. Distracted driving is a menace to public safety. Drivers should know that but some don't. But radio dispatched taxis use their radios to respond to calls. Police drive when they respond to emergency communications. Laws will not stop simpletons from harming others. Taxi drivers and police should be examined for common sense.
