Taxpayer Funded Boston Public Television Bans Persons With Disabilities As Guests

Emily Rooney, daughter of CBS News celebrity, Andy Rooney. Long time host of WGBH-TV Boston PBS Greater Boston news show and former news director at WCVB-TV. As host on WGBH Rooney banned persons with disabilities as guests on her show, except allowing them to explain how much they loved their goods and services from the human services industrial complex (MA State Rep. Marie Parente's term).

New host, former Cambridge City Councilor, Jim Braude, continues Rooney's policy.

Glad to see that taxpayer funded WGBH presents a one-sided view of this issue. Adam Reilly interviews two extremist black supremacists for their analysis. They lament a white racist nation as they advocate on taxpayer funded TV with no opposition. Racist? Do they mean black racist? They act as if they are the only persons ever discriminated against. Maybe reading some history is in order for the Tufts University historian and the special interest communications corporate executive. For many years the three wealthy and politically powerful "victim" groups dominated the air time of taxpayer funded Greater Boston and other WGBH shows, while persons with disabilities remain banned from appearing on those shows. Why do Greater Boston and WGBH in general open their shows to full participation by three wealthy and politically powerful "victim" groups, while banning persons with disabilities from appearing on TV? The producers, directors, airhead anchors, and management appear to share the misguided, unlawful hateful beliefs that all persons with disabilities are ignorant and stupid. Shame on them for their continued extreme hatred toward persons with disabilities denying them access to taxpayer funded television. Shame on them after several years of bringing this unlawful bias on WGBH and PBS to their attention. The response was threats to have me banned from Boston media, which they did, adding criminal harassment by local supporters of the taxpayer funded radio and television, PBS and WGBH. and their three powerful and wealthy victim groups.

Overt Bias Against Persons With Disabilities

Bias at WGBH-TV, PBS, Emily Rooney, Greater Boston, Beat The Press

Beat The Press is a weekly PBS Boston (WGBH-TV) show criticizing media abuses, a regular feature of Greater Boston TV news show hosted by long term journalist Emily Rooney. The archives on the web pages for Beat The Press only go back to March 2009. It is not clear when this show began. But Ms. Rooney, former news director at WCVB-TV, and daughter of prominent CBS news journalist Andy Rooney, was put on notice by me that her shows exhibit open bias against persons with disabilities. Except for one ten-minute segment of one show she has never had any discussion of the pervasive bias against persons with disabilities. She regularly has discussions on discrimination against women, Black Americans and homosexuals but never for persons with disabilities.

On Friday September 2, 2011 the first show of the 2011-2012 season one of her journalist guests Kara Miller explained that when she was looking for her first job she noticed that one place had never had a woman journalist. She applied and got the job.

Beat The Press is very diverse, regularly having women, homosexuals, Black journalists, Asian journalists, Harvard and academic journalists as guests. Rooney has never had a guest journalist with a disability. Of course there may be journalists with disabilities who pass for normal. Few journalists openly admit they have a cognitive disability. The last time I suggested that Greater Boston was denying access to her shows for persons with disabilities, Ms. Rooney made it clear that she would have me banned from Boston. Since that threat I never had a letter published in the Boston Globe. Hmmm. She does have her power and influence and knows how to use it.

The issue is larger than Rooney and her news show. PBS is a taxpayer subsidized television operation. They should not be allowed to provide access to some vulnerable groups and exclude others. It is illegal. But that is what they do. The President of WGBH said that they do shows about disabilities. That may be true but it is always from the business perspective of corporations which provide goods and services to persons with disabilities.

The issue is not their policy allowing persons with disabilities to visit the station and to volunteer. The issue is giving them jobs as they gives jobs to other vulnerable groups. Disabled persons remain unemployed at a rate of 70 percent far above any of the other groups. The issue is to have persons with disabilities on screen talking about disabilities as PBS has Black Americans, women and homosexuals talking about their unique experiences. But PBS indicates it is unable to rid its management of its bias toward persons with disabilities. That is shameful.

Instead of criticizing other journalists, Beat The Press should do some self examination to see how biased their panelists are.

Stalin and Hitler, One-Sided Forums as Debates

The argument that NYU's H. Bruce Franklin makes ("I used to think of Joseph Stalin as a tyrant and butcher who jailed and killed millions . . . But, to about a billion people today, Stalin is the opposite of what we in the capitalist world have been programmed to believe.") to praise Stalin applies to Hitler. Millions of Muslims today to hate Jews just as Hitler taught his youth. The same pattern of one-sided forums is a regular occurrence on Boston's PBS station where the daughter of 60 Minutes icon (Andy Rooney), Emily Rooney presents what she calls "debate" with only one side represented. Logic is not a strong point with liberals or propagandists.

WGBH Discriminates Contrary To Law

In addition to not paying taxes or a PILOT, WGBH management discriminates against disability rights advocates. Talk show queen Emily Rooney refuses over several years to include persons with disabilities into her on-air programming. The elite public broadcasters boast of allowing persons with disabilities to volunteer at their posh digs. But they refuse to allow them access to the taxpayer funded public airwaves. WGBH favors as guests, corporate providers of goods and services to vulnerable persons. Wealthy victim groups with political clout e.g., the homosexual lobby, the African American lobby and the women's lobby regularly appear. See especially Rooney's Friday media watchers who are never persons with disabilities.

PBS Hate Speech

[Video here until it is posted elsewhere on the Greater Boston Site within a few days.]

http://www.wgbh.org/gb/

On Tueday April 14, 2009 Emily Rooney, daughter of 60 Minutes'
pundit Andy Rooney, had as a guest on her PBS show Greater Boston, the
Mayor of Boston Thomas Menino. She showed pictures of construction
sites on the MBTA subway stations at Arlington, Kenmore, and Copley to
make those stations wheelchair accessible, She said to the Mayor,
"They are eyesores." It made me wonder, "Is Emily Rooney an eyesore?"

This is the same journalist (former news director at WCVB-TV, ABC
Boston affiliate) who I repeatedly petitioned to have on her show
persons with disabilities to discuss discrimination against them. She
ignored my requests although she did write a patronizing letter to me
after three requests.

After I wrote to the president of WGBH-TV in Boston, she had two
persons on her show to actually discuss denial of access for persons
with physical disabilities, and barriers to enjoying basic rights. I
congratulated her on this breakthrough, and reminded her that persons
accused of mental illness continue to be ignored by WGBH. She lamented
that "No good deed goes unpunished" adding that she would see that I
was banned from Boston.

Now she shows her true colors ignoring the inability of persons
who use wheelchairs to use the MBTA a public transit system. The
Rehabilitation Act of 1973 mandates that the subway be accessible. The
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 requires that public transit
be accessible. Legal aid lawyers sued the MBTA and in 2008 a judge
ordered MBTA to make the stations accessible in spite of much
opposition from citizen groups in Boston.

None of these groups or Emily Rooney would object to allowing
black people, homosexuals or women to use the subway stations to ride
the MBTA. But they have no concern expressing bigoted positions toward
persons with disabilities. They usually say "It never entered my mind."
Rooney cannot say that I did not bring this issue to her attention.
In her case it appears that she believes that persons with
disabilities should not enjoy equal rights as other citizens. She is
like the one-party conformist politicians she embraces, shameless and
clueless.

Narrow view on Racism

Narrow view on Racism

Why feel “a measure of guilt” and “annoyed that you feel guilty” for slavery in the US, even though you and your parents were not alive when there was slavery? (ADAM REILLY, “Black like him?” Boston Phoenix, February 11, 2009)

Obama’s race is not an easy question. Is he black, half-white or African American? Cambridge City Councilor Ken Reeves reminded Emily Rooney on PBS that Obama is half white.

Some Africans have as much animosity toward American blacks as white racists. Some Africans oppose interracial marriage as vehemently as some white Americans. Racism among American blacks is not discussed; neither toward each other, nor toward white people.

What does Reilly mean by “a more traditional black candidate?” Would that be a person who sounds and looks like a poor black American? Why do college educated black Americans focus their time on accumulating tokens and power just like white people? How are they any different from white politicians and white lawyers?

This article does not discuss Obama’s integrity. What does it matter what his skin color is, or who his parents are if he is a lying forked tongue politician just like all the rest?

Most importantly why the limited focus on white racism toward blacks? Many groups suffer unlawful discrimination. If it is due to slavery, why no focus on anti Jewish sentiments? Jews were murdered wholesale by the German government? Did the US government ever have a policy or program to kill black people? Why is there no guilt among non Jews for that abuse?

In February 2009 a prominent TV Host on a PBS station (hint: Her initials are ER) openly stated that it is acceptable to ignore a person because he is regarded as having a disability? There were no objections from any of the alleged media critics, who agreed that it is OK to ignore such persons. Why the hypocrisy?

Obama is, apparently, our first African-American president. But is that the identity he touted as a candidate?

Issue:
Does Diversity in the White House Press corps matter?

Emily Rooney daughter of 60 Minutes personality, Andy Rooney, and Host of Greater Boston, asks Should networks look to diversify their White House press reporting staff?

She said “the majority of the White House press corps is white.” The majority of the population of the country is white. The majority of the world is non-white. 16 percent of the world is white.

She mentioned Howard Kurtz’ column “Pallid to the Corps,” in the Washington Post, January 12, 2009. [Title changed online to “A Pale Reflection of America.”]

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/01/11/AR2009011102157_pf.html

and Jeff Jacoby’s January 14, 2009, column in the Boston Globe “Why should a journalist’s race matter?”

http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2009/01/14/why_should_a_journalists_race_matter/

Jacoby asks, “But why should it matter to anyone but a racist whether a White House reporter is black or white? Well, says Michael Fletcher, a colleague of Kurtz's, ‘you would want to have black journalists there to bring a different racial sensibility.’ [. . .] [Jacoby asks,] ’Do you know of any news organizations that are fretting over the “relative paucity” of evangelicals, Southerners, or Republicans on their payrolls?’”

Why are there no reporters with disabilities? To rephrase the question who cares about the paucity of persons with disabilities among the White House press corps?

Rooney said “it is something that is always true about discussions that go on in newsrooms across America. There’s always something that somebody of a different racial or ethnic background would think of that somebody else wouldn’t.”

Who speaks for persons with disabilities? That is what I’ve been complaining to Rooney about her show for a few years. Her response was to ban me from Boston. She has yet to have on a person to describe the perspective of being accused of having a psychiatric disability. Her guests include psychiatrists who boast of how great their drugs are. To Rooney access to treatment is what rights are about. Not the Constitutional Rights enjoyed by others just treatment.

Cassie Crossley, woman of color commentator said “it’s not about objectivity, it’s about fairness. There are different perspectives, which give a fuller picture,” she said. This is the “browning of America,” she added. “We are representative of what America is all about.” She added, “The White House Press corps should look like America.”

There are more persons with disabilities than there are persons of color. But to Crossley color trumps other categories. If brown color brings a fuller picture, what does no persons with disabilities bring?
If being representative of America is essential why are there no persons with disabilities among the White House Press Corps? Why is this not an issue for Rooney, Crossley or the other pundits on her show and elsewhere?

Joe Sciacca Boston Herald reporter, said, “politics should be color blind. If we say only African Americans can cover Barack Obama’s administration that is tokenism. Networks will appoint someone because of the color of his skin.” Does that mean that there are no persons with disabilities who are qualified to be a White House reporter?

Dan Kennedy, Journalism professor at Northeastern University whose daughter has a disability, said, people “do want that diversity and range and perspective and background. And it isn’t just let’s have more African American reporters. It’s let’s have more reporters from a variety of different ideologies and personal backgrounds.” Why is this not an issue for reporters with disabilities?

Kara Miller, reporter for the Metro West Daily News, said, “this is an issue not just for the White House press corps. It matters for the Sunday night news and for local news too. Same thing applies to persons with disabilities. How many local TV, radio, and print journalists have disabilities? Moreover, persons with physical disabilities are often as biased against persons accused of psychiatric illness as “normal” people.”

Cassie Crossley added “It’s been an issue not just for Barack Obama.” Yes, and disabilities being absent from the minds of reporters has been an issue with Rooney and all other media outlets for the same period of time.

WGBH-TV is not equally accessible to all

WGBH-TV is not equally accessible to all

Suffolk Law Professor Renee Landers says "Public TV remains among our most trusted institutions [. . .] because it engages all citizens, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity or ability to pay." (Renee M. Landers, Boston Herald, Letter, March 7, 2008) Oh? Why does WGBH exclude persons with disabilities in their programming content?
WGBH's leading lady talk show host (Emily Rooney) threatened to ban me from Boston when I objected to her excluding disability based discrimination on her shows, while she includes racism, sexism and sexual preference bias. This is a station-wide problem indeed a society-wide problem, (including the courts, and the legal profession) which remains unaddressed.
Two Presidents of WGBH are in denial. They believe that health care for persons with disabilities is about discrimination. Huh? Is treatment of persons of color by doctors about racism?
My previous letters to Landers were ignored just like my letters to Rooney. The dictionary calls that bigotry.

Letter to Council About Noise

Letter to Cambridge City Council November 29, 2007

Cambridge City Council November 29, 2007
City Hall
795 Mass Avenue
Cambridge MA 02139 Cambridge Conformist Party

Honorable City Councilors,

Cambridge Conformist Party

The Boston office of the FBI is an unofficial member of the Conformist Party. They ensure that no party members are ever prosecuted for malfeasance or any criminal abuses. The Boston FBI works closely with the ACLUeless and the high psychiatric priests. In order to maintain access to their sources the Boston Globe, Conformist Party organ, does not publish negative stories about the Boston FBI, no matter how difficult that is.
Citizens have rights guaranteed by the US and the MA Constitution. The Right to Petition, the Right to Redress, and the Right to Access are all parts of the First Amendment to the US Constitution.
Being a citizen has little meaning in Cambridge where limousine liberals grant rights to illegal aliens and give special privileges to members of special interest groups.
The Conformist Party that rules Cambridge and much of Eastern Massachusetts is not a registered political party. It is part of the shadow government, which rules the area. The puppets that run Cambridge City government, and other elected and appointed officials in Eastern MA are members of the Conformist Party.
The puppeteers at Harvard University and at MIT dictate policy and determine what laws will be enforced (and not enforced), and who will be permitted to enjoy the rights enumerated in the Constitutions.
The Conformist party shares a propaganda machine with the Democratic Party, using the Boston Globe to promote the Party Line. The Conformist Party has some members at the Globe who promote the interests of Harvard and MIT and keep unpleasant news about Cambridge from print.

Cambridge Minister of Information

The Minister of Information for Cambridge is Robert Winters who maintains the City propaganda organ online, The Cambridge Conformist Journal. Winters and his fellow Conformist hacks ridicule deviants from Conformist party policies. Winters is also Chief of the Hackerama for Ridicule in Cambridge.
He dutifully reprints propaganda, which he copies from the City websites and from other government publications. Conformist Party members prefer to get their government documents from Winters. They believe with some justification that his site is more reliable than the government information.

Conformist Media Mogul Priests

Former Cambridge City Councilor Jim Braude, charter member of the Cambridge Conformist Party is a high priest of Broadcast Information Technology (BIT). He hosts a daily Cable TV show and co-hosts a daily radio talk show. Like his former Council colleagues he promotes the same interest groups as the career politicians.
Another high media priest of the Conformist Party is Emily Rooney, daughter of 60 Minutes super star Andy Rooney. From her regal perch on taxpayer-funded WGBH-TV the local PBS station, she hosts Conformist Party members who promote themselves and the shadow government of the Party. Rooney ignores discrimination against persons with disabilities. Braude’s guests make hateful comments about persons with disabilities.
Rooney was news director at Boston commercial TV station WCVB-TV for many years. That is where she solidified her prejudice against persons with disabilities. She believes they are clients for Human Services Corporations, the Psychiatric Industry, the Drug Companies and the Academic Research Industry. She frequently has corporate leaders and members of the academic community on her show promoting these ideas.

Anonymous Conformist Soldiers

Conformist soldiers use anonymous handles on blogs promoting Conformist puppets in Cambridge government. They use the First Amendment for government officials to harass, to ridicule and to discredit their critics and to silence victims of government abuses of power.
This was raised to an extreme level when James Bulger ran the Boston FBI office. When a citizen tried to expose the real Special Agent-In-Charge in Boston, Bulger and his gang murdered the 19 potential leaks. Bulger is now allegedly a fugitive. But his criminal empire continues to function silencing critics of the puppets.

Deviants: Useless Eaters Need Treatment

Psychiatry is based upon conformist principles. Mental illness is speech and behavior, which is unacceptable to the high priests of Psychiatry, who rule the Conformist Party. Anyone who deviates from what psychiatrists like or from what they understand, are declared mentally ill. They are not only deviants from the Conformist Party principles, but they are also deviants from proper psychiatric behavior and speech.
Mental illnesses are created as fast as critics are found who deviate from the Conformist Party Line. Criticism of Party officials is a mental illness. Non conformists are mentally ill. In Massachusetts being a New York Yankee fan is a mental illness.
Approved peaceful spokesman for the Conformist Party says “Cambridge people are not intolerant. We are diverse. We love people from El Salvador, from Guatemala, from Haiti and from Iran. Everyone knows that heterosexual men of no color are deviants. We’re trying to weed them out of here to purge the population of useless eaters.”

Role of ACLUeless Conformists

The Cambridge Conformist Party puppets obey the ACLUeless strategists. When the ACLUeless condemned the Commander-in-Chief of US military forces, the Cambridge puppets did the same. The Conformist City Councilors declared Cambridge a Sanctuary City for illegal aliens to support the War on Terror for the other side.
The Cambridge Chapter of the Conformist Party demanded the repeal of the USA PATRIOT Act. They claimed it violated conformist rights. Nonetheless Cambridge Conformists want a policeman on every block to stop city violence some of which is committed by illegal aliens. Contradictions of the Conformist Party are too many to be discussed in this letter.

Cambridge Police Priorities

Cambridge police are much too busy to address violent street crime. They have higher priorities. Cambridge police enforce discrimination laws protecting the five divisions of the Conformist Party.
Jokes are not for everybody. Many jokes do not carry over and across cultural boundaries. I encounter many visitors from other states and from other countries in Cambridge. I offer to help people who are looking at maps. I ask, “What are you looking for?” Then I show them where they want to go. One day I was looking at Harvard’s Memorial Hall. A man from Africa approached me and asked, “What are you looking for?” I looked at him and wondered if he was making fun of me. I live near Memorial Hall.
I said to him, “I’m looking for love, money and power.”
He laughed and said to me “That’s funny.” as he walked away smiling and looking back at me.

P-Whipped Cambridge Cops

This joke is not always received as well. On Friday August 24, 2007 I went to the Fresh Pond Whole Foods store at about 9:30 PM. It was the second time I was in that store since it was the Bread and Circus.
A woman employee was placing containers of fruit into a shopping cart. As I passed her she said to me, “Can I help you?” I ignored her because I did not need any help. I also do not like when police approach a person in a store they want to arrest saying, “Can I help you?”
She asked me again, “Can I help you? I saw you walking around and looking.”
I said to her, “I’m looking for love, fame and power.” I paused. Then I asked “You can’t help me with that can you?”
She looked at me. When I passed the customer service desk walking to the checkout lanes, I saw a uniformed Cambridge police officer, who used to work details at the Porter Square Star Market.
While waiting in the checkout lane, the officer moved to the front of the lane in which I was standing. I thought nothing of it at first. Then I recalled my comment to the women in the produce section. I wondered, “Did she complain about what I said?”
The officer walked away from the line. I thought I was being paranoid thinking he was standing there for me.
After I paid for my items I walked out of the store. The officer was standing outside of the store keeping late arrivals from entering the store, which had closed.
The officer asked me, “Can I speak with you?” I was wrong. He was standing at the checkout for me.
He asked me if I said anything to a woman in the store. I told him what I said. I told the officer I’m from New York. I tell jokes. Sometimes they don’t carry over into other cultures. The woman was from Central or South America. She is not a fashion model.
I discussed this event at length with the officer. I asked him “What’s the crime, harassment?” He said it was. I asked, “She was alarmed?” I did not add “rationally?”
He stated he knew I had no intent to cause her alarm. He said that he too is or was a wise ass. I inquired about the fact that as an immigrant, whether legal or illegal it was suspicious that she was aware of the discrimination laws. I mentioned how some immigrants come to the US and want to kill us but they are well versed in the discrimination laws and claim they are victims.
I said, “I’m a citizen.” I did not mention 35 years of harassment from organized crime families about which the City of Cambridge ignored my complaints. I told about a Harvard lawyer who complained about my criticism of Harvard. I said I told the lawyer I thought I was being civilized considering what Harvard did to me. I told the officer “I respond with pen and paper, not weapons.”
I noted that the woman was not attractive to me. She may have an exaggerated self-image thinking that all men wanted to bed her. I also wondered how this was an issue.
I asked the officer how my alleged pass at her was an issue for the police. Was it a crime to ask a woman to go to bed? He declared that she was entitled to be free from a hostile work environment.
This raised a further issue. Are the Cambridge police enforcing private corporations’ work rules? Isn’t that an issue for the MCAD or the EEOC? I told the officer I did not think that hostile work environment applied to customers. It is for a employee’s superiors. He disagreed. I told the officer of my experiences at CCTV where women harassed me and that the management laughed at me when I complained. I did not tell him about homosexuals who rubbed up against me (sexual assault) in work places.
Assuming that the officer was being truthful, why did he respond to the complaint? He said that he knew me. He knew the name of my television show which I used to do on CCTV. He did not know the law and misapplied it in any case.
Moreover, if the Cambridge police were now enforcing discrimination laws, why do they openly harass persons with disabilities contrary to city policy, state and US laws?
The officer’s response to the alleged crime shows that the Cambridge Police are p-whipped by the Women’s Lobby. A feminist runs Harvard. A feminist runs MIT. It appears feminists run the Cambridge Police and the City Manager’s office too. The standard for speech and conduct is not law but what the loudest whiners want?
I did not argue with him because I know police love to arrest people. I recalled vividly how in 1990 when I complained about police harassment, the Cambridge police arrested me and held me for 78 days. The seven lawyers assigned all worked for the police and put on no defense. That police frame-up is still being used to scare people. In August 2007 Harvard police and the tenant of record tried to repeat the event of 1990.
I told the officer about another incident with women. I asked him if these were all lesbians or man-hating women. He said they were all kinds. He revealed that he was aware that the pendulum has swung too far with this ability of women to complain about men for minor incidents, which do not rise to level of being a crime.
We discussed the many murders of women by their boyfriends and husbands. I asked, “Why don’t they just kill themselves? Why do they need to kill the women first?” I lamented the murder of young babies by boyfriends and stepfathers.
Another Cambridge citizen told me that a Cambridge police officer called him to tell him that it was illegal to discriminate against illegal aliens.

ACLUeless and Psychiatry

ACLUeless is unaware of psychiatric abuses. They do not believe that psychiatrists employed by organized crime families would enter an apartment to place drugs into foods ingested by critics of the Conformist Party. ACLUeless believes that if a person complains about such criminal abuses by police and psychiatrists that the person is mentally ill. The ACLUeless believes that if a person is mentally ill then the Conformist Party should ignore everything the person says. That’s how the ACLUeless complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The ACLUeless believes that psychiatrists have genes cleansed of greed, mendacity and sadism. They stand beside the Cambridge puppets that strictly follow ACLUeless policies.

Is the ADL Conformist?

The Anti Defamation League of B’nai B’rith is the most successful fighter of hate speech and discrimination in the country. They are better than the Civil Rights Division of the US Department of Justice, whose main function is writing letters to public officials explaining the law. Beginning with hate speech against Jews the ADL expanded its focus to include the same four divisions of the Conformist Party as the Cambridge City Council’s focus. Like the City Council and the Conformist Party and the ACLUeless the ADL excludes persons with disabilities from their interest groups. The question is, “Has the ADL joined the ACLUeless as a division of the Conformist Party?”

El Poo-Bah

The Cambridge Conformist-in-Chief (el Poo-Bah) City Manager brought workers from El Salvador and Guatemala to Cambridge to complain about US military abuses. “The people of El Salvador need love,” they shouted. The Conformist Party ignored the needs of vulnerable Cambridge citizens and showered the visitors with love.
Cambridge Conformist policy condones abusing vulnerable citizens who have no rights under Conformist policies. Conformist policy approves using persons with disabilities for medical research experiments without consent. They protect animals from research abuses. “It is a matter of priorities,” their website says.
In November 2007 the City Manager (el Poo-Bah) puppet held a public teach-in to reveal why Conformist members love Iranians. The President of Iran wants to kill all Americans and Jews, and wants to eliminate Israel. Conformists say “No problem.”

Conformist Boy Scout Policy

Boy Scout troop (# 45?) ignored Conformist Party policies. They sought and were granted permission to place collection boxes for US soldiers at polling places on Election Day November 6, 2007. 24 percent of eligible voters came to the polls on Election Day 2007. The Boy Scouts thought some voters would make a contribution to help the soldiers fighting for the rights of the Conformist Party members.
One member of the Conformist Party Central Committee (allegedly the Homosexual Division) objected. The Chief Legal Theorist of the Cambridge Conformist Party ordered the collection boxes removed. Ordinary citizens rallied by FOX News (considered to be a deceptive lying and criminal corporation by the Conformist Party), expressed outrage. The Conformist Party Central Committee official claimed that the Boy Scouts promoted the war.
The Homosexual Lobby controls the Cambridge Conformist Party. The Lobby condemns the Boy Scouts because they refuse to allow homosexuals to be troop leaders. The Homosexual Lobby says that the Boy Scouts are warmongers.
Responding to national outrage that the Conformist Party thwarted the efforts of the Boy Scouts, the Cambridge City puppets declared they are misunderstood. They say they oppose the war and the Commander-in-Chief. But they say they support the troops. Why they even violated state law to pay some city employees their full city salary and their military pay. They got state approval to pay others both full salaries while they work for the Commander-in-Chief.
The Cambridge elected puppets of the Conformist Party asked the Chief Conformist City Manager (el Poo-Bah) to allow the Boy Scouts to collect contributions at fire stations, libraries and City Hall. They want to show the world how much they love the Boy Scouts. The Homosexual Lobby remains silent.
The voters are happy because they are the real conformists in Cambridge, re-electing the same people over and over again and again. The Conformist Party moved one member from the City Council to the state house (he supports young people). Now they have nine Conformist Party members on the City Council. They all support housing, the environment and education. How can you not love them all? They all conform to the party priorities designed by Harvard and MIT.

Conformist Divisions

There are five divisions of the Conformist Party in Cambridge. The Feminist Caucus accuses men of sex crimes. The Persons of Color Caucus accuses white men of racism. The Illegal Alien Caucus accuses white citizens of racism. The Business Caucus (formerly called Organized Crime families) takes turns threatening, disturbing the sleep and slandering critics of the Conformist Party. The Homosexual Caucus stalks the Boy Scouts to prevent them from recruiting on the Harvard and MIT campuses.
Robert Winters is not only the Minister of Information for the Cambridge Chapter of the Conformist Party he is also the approved Conformist pundit for commentary on local government for the Cambridge Chronicle and the Harvard Crimson. Other Central Committee approved conformist commentators include Glenn Koocher and John Moot.
The Business Caucus, which runs Eastern Mass is unable to get permission to permanently silence one of the few remaining critics of Cambridge Conformists. They are reduced to preventing him from sleeping, threatening him, slandering him, tampering with newspapers he gets delivered, and having him repeatedly evaluated by Conformist (is that redundant) psychiatrists. They tap his phone intercept snail mail, email and FedEx deliveries. Conformity has its priorities.

Progressive Conformists

Though the Conformist Party controls the regular Democratic Party mechanism in Cambridge there are some Conformists who want to be different. AH-hem! They created the Progressive Democratic Party of Cambridge to make their distinctive mark on local policies. The current Chairman is Lesley Phillips who is also a Ward Committeeman for the Regular Democratic Party. This wing of the Conformist Party just elected Sam Seidel as a City Councilor to firm up their lack of conformity on that government body. This non-conformist division of the Conformist Party adamantly derides persons with disabilities citing Robert Winters’ ridicule on his Conformist Central Committee approved web pages.
One unifying policy of the Conformist Party is intolerance of non-conformists. Conformists and regular Democrats alike designate non–conformists mentally ill. Republicans who are scarce in Cambridge agree that non-conformists are a threat to the well being of Cambridge. That explains the solid support among Conformists for psychiatry. Most psychiatrists are card-carrying members of the Conformist Party. They write the rules for conformity -- what is acceptable thought, speech and behavior, and what is not. It was natural for them to become conformists because they share interests and views of reality with the politicians in Cambridge where the Conformist Party was founded.

Most Vulnerable Conformists

Conformist Councilors in Cambridge earn $100,000 in salary and benefits for a part time job. This puts them in an upper level economic class. Most Cambridge Conformist party members (the ones that vote) in Cambridge share their economic status.
Would that explain why City Councilors refer to upper class women as “some of the most vulnerable?” During the discussion of the decision of the Cambridge Health Alliance to end OB-GYN services at the Windsor Street Clinic, two Councilors referred to the women as “some of the most vulnerable.” At the Council meeting were women with PhDs., women who worked as medical professionals, and women city officials.
Some Conformist politicians grew up poor. Bill Clinton began life in a modest home. Deval Patrick claims an underprivileged start to his life as a Harvard corporate lawyer. Marjorie Decker boasts of her young life in “public housing.” But like the two multi millionaire politicians she forgot where she came from. She now has an MA Degree from Harvard’s JFK (“Life is not fair.”) School of Government.
In November 2007 during discussion of amending the Noise Ordinance to regulate leaf blowers, Conformist City Councilor Brian Murphy, a Harvard lawyer (redundant?) referred to the leaf blower operators as “Some of the most vulnerable.” The citizens who demand an end to leaf blower noise cannot understand why the men and women who operate these annoying machines are getting consideration from the Conformist Party. Does el Poo-Bah have anything to do with that?
When the Conformist Party wants to regulate an activity they are unconcerned whether they have jurisdiction to do so. In the case of noise at work that is definitely an issue for the US Government Department of OSHA. But never let it be said that the Conformist Party abstained from pandering when they had an opportunity.
Why are snow blowers not included in this ordinance? And what about wet vacs? They all make as much noise. Are there too many items for a conformist to consider at once? Are the Conformists confused?

Legal Aid for Detainees

Legal Aid for Detainees

The headline for this story conflicts with the facts reported. (Farah
Stockman, "Potshot at Guantanamo lawyers backfires, Big firms laud free legal
aid for detainees," Boston Globe, January 29, 2007) You report "Doris Tennant
and Ellen Lubell have collected $7,000 in the past three weeks toward the
estimated $20,000 they expect to spend defending an Algerian detainee known as
Number 744."
If they are raising funds to pay for the legal work, it is not free and it
is not pro bono as Emily Rooney said on Tuesday March 27, 2007.
Aside from the financial distortions I am perplexed at why there is so much
energy available from attorneys who recruit these attorneys anxious to represent
detainees. Even Rooney no right-winger, suggested that there are many domestic
prisoners who live very similarly to the detainees who are accused of making war
on the United States and not being a part of any identifiable army.
Lubell and Tennant said that the detainees are fed through a slit on their
doors and must listen to prayers through the same slit. But they did not mention
the attacks on the guards, regular US Army soldiers, not corrections officers.
My question is for both Rooney and the Newton law partners. Why are there
no similar efforts to recruit lawyers to represent persons with disabilities who
have not been convicted of any crime nor have they been charged with making war
on the US. They are simply abused by police, prosecutors, politicians, academic
researchers, human services corporations, social services professionals, lawyers
and ordinary citizens who like to exploit and to abuse vulnerable persons.
I understand that the Boston Globe earns advertising revenue from the many
human services corporations. But Rooney appears on publicly funded television.
Nonetheless, Rooney and WGBH's president expressed the same attitudes toward
persons with disabilities as did Richard Gilman and the series of Globe editors.
They all see disability rights as a health care issue. They are unable to see
persons with disabilities as equal human beings with rights guaranteed to them
as strictly as to other citizens.
Why do these lawyers work so very hard to protect rights of persons with
questionable standing to them? Why are people innocent of any wrongdoing being
ignored by these and other allegedly concerned legal officers of the court?

Potshot at Guantanamo lawyers backfires
Big firms laud free legal aid for detainees
By Farah Stockman,
Boston Globe Staff
January 29, 2007

WASHINGTON -- Two weeks after a senior Pentagon official suggested that
corporations should pressure their law firms to stop assisting detainees at
Guantanamo Bay, major companies have turned the tables on the Pentagon and
issued statements supporting the law firms' work on behalf of terrorism
suspects.

The corporate support for the lawyers comes as law associations and members of
Congress have expressed outrage at the remarks of Deputy Assistant Secretary of
Defense for Detainee Affairs Charles D. "Cully" Stimson on Jan. 11.

In a radio interview, Stimson stated the names of a dozen law firms that
volunteer their services to represent detainees, and he suggested that the chief
executives of the firms' corporate clients would make the lawyers "choose
between representing terrorists or representing reputable firms."

He said he expected the newly public list of law firms that do work at
Guantanamo Bay to spark a cycle of negative publicity for them. Instead, Stimson
himself became the center of nationwide criticism and later apologized for the
remarks.

The episode has become an embarrassing chapter in the Pentagon's long-running
battle with the detainees' lawyers and appears to have spurred public support
for the legal rights of the detainees, nearly 400 of whom just marked the start
of their sixth year of incarceration at the base.

Charles Rudnick , a spokesman for Boston Scientific Corp., said the company
supports the decision of its law firm, WilmerHale, to represent six men who were
arrested in Bosnia in 2001 "because our legal system depends on vigorous
advocacy for even the most unpopular causes."

Brackett Denniston, senior vice president and general counsel of General
Electric, said the company strongly disagrees with the suggestion that it
discriminate against law firms that do such work. "Justice is served when there
is quality representation even for the unpopular," Denniston said in a
statement.

Verizon issued a similar statement.

The lawyers have welcomed these expressions of solidarity from their paying
clients.

"It would seem [the Pentagon] made a miscalculation," said Stephen Oleskey , an
attorney at WilmerHale in Boston who has traveled to Guantanamo Bay seven times
since he took up the case in 2004. "We haven't had any clients call up and say,
'We are really deeply disturbed that you are advocating for fair hearings.' The
amount of support [we have gotten] has been heartening."

He said a committee at WilmerHale swiftly made the decision in 2004 to offer
free help to the detainees when a request went out from the Center for
Constitutional Rights, a New York-based nonprofit legal organization, which had
filed a petition in federal court on behalf of the detainees.

"As time has gone on, it has become plainer that it is an important issue for
our justice system," Oleskey said. "People have been more and more interested in
hearing about it. We have been asked to speak at universities, human rights
groups, and churches."

Michael Ratner , president of the Center for Constitutional Rights, said that in
his early days of defending Guantanamo detainees he got hundreds of hate letters
from the public every time he spoke about the issue on television. But now, he
said, he receives only positive feedback, especially since Stimson's remarks.

"They miscalculated, that's for sure," said Ratner, who helps coordinate 500
lawyers and 120 law firms across the country to defend the detainees.

Support for the defense of Guantanamo detainees has become so widely accepted
that two Newton attorneys are defraying the cost of their trips to Guantanamo
Bay by collecting donations from the public.

Doris Tennant and Ellen Lubell have collected $7,000 in the past three weeks
toward the estimated $20,000 they expect to spend defending an Algerian detainee
known as Number 744. It is difficult to tell whether the controversy has made
fund-raising easier, Tennant said, because Stimson's remarks coincided with
their appeal for funds. But she said many of her supporters made reference to
Stimson as they voiced their support and sent in checks.

"It has been quite an outpouring," said Tennant, who hopes to make her first
visit to Guantanamo Bay next week.

That support is not what Stimson predicted when he gave a radio interview Jan.
11, the fifth anniversary of the day the detainees were brought to the base.

Stimson told the Washington-based Federal News Radio that the cause of detainees
was "not popular" with the American people and that the list of major law firms
representing the detainees was "shocking."

"I think quite honestly, when corporate CEOs see that those firms are
representing the very terrorists who hurt their bottom line back in 2001, those
CEOs are going to make those law firms choose between representing terrorists or
representing reputable firms," he said.

In the interview, he named about a dozen firms, including WilmerHale. He said
that corporations would become outraged when they realized that their legal fees
were subsidizing this kind of pro bono work.

In addition to the interview, a Wall Street Journal columnist quoted an unnamed
US official making similar remarks in a column that also included the names of
several top firms.

Now, some lawyers for detainees are accusing the Pentagon of an organized effort
to generate bad publicity for the firms.

Baltimore-based lawyer William J. Murphy , who represents a Kuwaiti detainee,
has filed a Freedom of Information Act request seeking records of communications
between senior Pentagon officials and the media before the Jan. 11 interview in
a bid to uncover evidence of a smear campaign.

Some lawyers said publicizing the names of the law firms had achieved one of
Stimson's objectives -- distracting attention from the roughly 395 men who
remain imprisoned.

"It backfired to the extent that they didn't get the kind of support that they
were hoping," said Neil McGaraghan , a Boston-based attorney at Bingham
McCutchen, which represents a group of ethnic Uighurs from China at Guantanamo
Bay.

"But to the extent that it has drawn attention away from Guantanamo and focused
it on the lawyers, it has worked."

Small Minded Journalist

Bailey's use of the word, "inadvertent" shows his bias on the issue of
Emily Rooney not inviting Jay Severin to the Grand Opening of the new WGBH
studios. (Steve Bailey, "At home, and all alone," Boston Globe, October 5, 2007)
Few one-party Massachusetts journalists recognize the small range of views
acceptable to Rooney on her show.
Here's one. After several letters asking why she never has guests on her
show
discussing rights of persons with disabilities, she wrote to me patronizing me
as if I were a mental patient.
After several letters to the President of WGBH asking why persons with
disabilities do not enjoy equal access to the content of what is broadcast on
(taxpayer funded) WGBH, he sent me a list of 100 programs about treatment,
health care and access to treatment. One show discussed physical disability
based discrimination.
I pointed out that Rooney often has on psychiatrists who boast of new or
experimental treatments. But she never has a person who was abused contrary to
state and US law by psychiatrists. Her response was that she wanted to have
debates two sides to discuss.
I often wonder if she thinks she fooled me. I noticed that frequently she
has
one person on her show discussing a controversial issue. Often she has
politicians on to promote themselves in an election. This she sees as a debate,
a one person debate? Is Rooney fooling herself or just trying fool others? Is
that what inadvertent means?
When Rooney finally had on a woman doctor and a member of the Boston
Disability Commission I wrote again mocking her crumb on the issue. Her response
was to threaten to ban me from Boston. She said she would write to others to
notify them. Is this woman a member of the Bulger crime family?-

Jay Severin, WTKK radio's libertarian loudmouth, is hurt - wounded really - and
Emily Rooney, WGBH-TV's thermally challenged queen bee, is off his show and his
station. Says Rooney: "I didn't think the punishment fit the crime."

Rooney's crime? Inadvertently leaving Severin off the invitation list for WGBH's
party last week marking the 10th anniversary of her show, "Greater Boston."
Everyone was there, even me.

"Dear Emily," Severin e-mailed Rooney on Wednesday evening just minutes before
the big event was to begin.

"As I imagine you well know, I do wish you congratulations on the most
impressive achievement of ten years on the air choreographing your own
presentation. Extraordinary.

"And please do not misconsture [sic] what I ask as mitigating in any way the
earnestness of my best wishes.

"However: I am very personally disappointed (although from what you have frankly
told me of WGBH's attitude toward myself, not necessarily greatly surprised) not
to have been among those from 96.9 to have been invited to the WGBH celebratory
event. After all, we are, I think, friends; and we do broadcast together here
weekly, for an audience which is very considerably larger than even your
television audience, correctr? [sic] It thus strkes [sic] me as fairly
appropriate that I might have anticipated being included - especially
considering others here at 96.9 were.

"Am I wrong and/or presumptuous to wonder why, under the circumstances, I am not
included?"

Since January, Rooney has done a weekly (paid) segment with Severin, discussing
the media. But on Friday, Rooney got a call from WTKK's program director, Grace
Blazer, telling her not to bother coming to the station. The segment was being
canceled; she cited "budgetary" issues, Rooney says. (Disclosure: I occasionally
appear on Rooney's "Beat the Press" show; I hope she was getting paid more from
WTKK than the $100 I get from WGBH.)

"I feel terrible about this. I honestly do. I literally lost sleep over it," she
says. As for Severin's snide remark about ratings or the lack thereof, Rooney
says: "I didn't understand how that was relevant to the issue."

Neither Severin nor Blazer returned my calls or e-mails.

In Severin's world, Hillary Clinton is "a lying [expletive]," Ted Kennedy is "a
fat piece of lying garbage," and Al Gore is "Al Whore." All things considered,
it's surprising the guy is asked out at all.

This Story Has No Legs

Two Boston academics weigh in on news legs. "It doesn't belong on a news
show [...] Showing off someone's legs is probably not a good message to be
showing the viewers," said Belle Adler.
"A person who is an anchor is trying to describe the news and her legs have
nothing to do with it," Balser said. "It demeans her ability to communicate the
news well to people [...]" It's "so out of order" she added. (JESSICA HESLAM, "GAM SHOW MAY BE KATIE'S LEG-ACY, Critics won't skirt the issue," Boston Herald, September 7, 2006)
It is extremely curious that these two Boston academics state the obvious
with respect to Katie Couric. But they remain silent when child of Andy Rooney,
Emily shows her leggy legs nine out of ten daily shows she does on the PBS
station. She does what many call news also. So why is there a pass for Rooney
but not for Couric? Can someone explain that to me? Is it OK to show legs on non
profit TV, but not on for profit?

GAM SHOW MAY BE KATIE'S LEG-ACY
Critics won't skirt the issue
By JESSICA HESLAM
September 7, 2006

She's got great legs and CBS knows how to use them - but women scholars are
divided on whether Katie Couric should keep her sexy stems behind the anchor
desk.
Wearing stilettos and a skirt, Couric's toned and taut legs made their first
appearance before the first commercial break Tuesday evening during Couric's
"CBS Evening News" debut.

"It doesn't belong on a news show - making somebody a little bit sexual. Showing
off someone's legs is probably not a good message to be showing the viewers,"
said Belle Adler, an associate professor of broadcast journalism at Northeastern
University.

Diane Balser, a professor of women studies at Boston University, said
objectifying a woman anchoring the evening news is "so out of order."

"A person who is an anchor is trying to describe the news and her legs have
nothing to do with it," Balser said. "It demeans her ability to communicate the
news well to people because it points their attention to the objectification of
women."

Couric's shapely legs were front and center as she interviewed New York Times
columnist Thomas Friedman face to face shortly into her first network newscast.
The usual third-place CBS news show clinched the No. 1 spot that night, with
13.6 million people tuning in.

The legs were much less prevalent last night. When the 49-year-old Couric
co-hosted "Today," her tanned legs and short skirts were practically a show
staple.

CBS spokeswoman Sandy Genelius said "they shot her (Couric) as you would shoot
any anchor on a news set." As for those who say CBS is playing up Couric's legs,
Genelius called it "bunk."

Carol Jenkins, a former TV anchor and Women's Media Center board member, said
"the more women the better, whether they show their legs or not."

Jenkins said Couric's debut was a milestone and women across the country were
thrilled. Actress Marlo Thomas held a viewing party and feminist leader Gloria
Steinem - founder of the Women's Media Center - cried.

"We have to get used to seeing women's legs without falling down and pointing
and giggling like we haven't seen women's legs before," Jenkins said. "We just
have to get over it."

Journalists Share Negative Bias on Disabilities

Journalists Share Negative Bias on Disabilities
Emily Rooney "said she and Severin aren’t exactly polar opposites. 'You’d be surprised.'” (Jessica Heslam, "Sparring Severin, Rooney team up," Boston Herald, January 26, 2007) Both media personalities agree that racial discrimination is worse than disability based discrimination. For conservative Severin it is a matter of spending his money to pay for equal access to persons with disabilities. For liberal Rooney it is simple bigotry. They join the Massachusetts political establishment serving wealthy and politically connected interest groups while ignoring vulnerable persons. Nothing new here.
