Emotionally disturbed are violent?

It is troubling that the Columbia President was assaulted. But it is also troubling that he believes that the assault occurred because the person "was under psychiatric treatment." Does Columbia's President believe that all persons "under psychiatric treatment" are violent? That is stereotyping which the President would never tolerate toward other groups of vulnerable persons. What explains Bollinger's venomous attitude toward persons with disabilities? The statement issued by the Office of Public Affairs is no less offensive. Is it official university policy that emotionally disturbed persons (persons with disabilities) are known to be violent too? What happened to treating all persons equal? Are only black persons, homosexuals, women and illegal aliens entitled to equal protection of the laws?
