Food Trucks, Celebrations On New Improved "Plaza" Owned By City of Cambridge

New Improved Affordable Housing For Displaced Rodent Population

Temporary Permanent Tent For Harvard University Plaza Functions

The new improved lawn-free "plaza."

The "plaza" as it is called here is city owned land, with an agreement to allow Harvard University to administer the property. The decision to "upgrade" the lawns into a concrete plaza was done with no public meetings. Harvard University bureaucrats and city officials decided what to do without any users of the property; typical elitist decision making. The result indicates a lack of common sense and little aesthetic sensitivity. Pure utilitarianism for Harvard's benefit. Campus landscapers even brought back large plants in which the displaced rodents can make their new homes. The "plaza" is patrolled by HUPD which likely does not have legal jurisdiction on the land; typical over reach by HUPD.
