Elections By Uninformed Voters

It is more than academic that the votes of informed voters are canceled out by clueless voters who vote for the name or appearance of candidates. More troubling is the fantasy published by V.O. Key Jr. in 1966 providing more evidence that ideas published by credentialed authors may not be based in fact but on wishful thinking or propaganda. Prior to 1966 Henry Louis Mencken recognized that "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people." That is obvious from election results. Winston Churchill observed, "The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter." What are those taxpayer funded schools run by teachers' unions doing about that? Not so much.

No police, no crime families, no Communists, no FBI informants, no campus cops. Alas across the river in tolerant Cambridge MA host city of Harvard  University and MIT, local police, campus cops, Communists, crime families and assorted police and FBI informants take turns harassing, conducting 24/7 surveillance, insulting, provoking, threatening, humiliating and ridiculing a 70-year-old white male that they say has a severe disability. It is what some would call superior priorities conducted by those high minded academics at Harvard University and the equality driven city government in Cambridge. Oh, you say, there is no equal protection of the laws? Disappointing isn't it? It indicates that there is a cognitive disconnect between those who are paid to provide public safety and the taxpayers who pay for it. Taxpayers are not getting what they pay and pay for. They are getting robbed. Too many taxpayer funded police agencies are focused on harassing vulnerable citizens (because they can), keeping them from enjoying the guaranteed rights and privileges, as the criminals who run the government do.

Response To Harvard University President's Heating Guidelines

Thank you for revealing what Harvard's heating guidelines are. But there are state laws which establish heating requirements for MA landlords including The President and Fellows of Harvard College. Over the past 17 years I've been a tenant of Harvard's President I encountered numerous occasions when there was no heat often on weekends and at night. A call to your delightful emergency phone often gets a response of "Why are you the only one?" It appears that many of
your tenants are unable or unwilling to speak out about lack of heat. When I complain I get harassed, humiliated and ridiculed by employees of the landlord. That is also a violation of US laws. I am aware, very well aware that for Harvard's President and in Cambridge, laws are optional. Just want you to know that I enjoy reading about your guidelines when they conflict with state and US  laws. It is more sources of humor in this charming city and University. Thanks again for the laughs.

HARVARD UNIVERSITY TEMPERATURE POLICY


OBJECTIVE:
The Harvard University Temperature policy provides a framework to assist building managers and occupants in achieving a healthy, productive, and safe working environment while reducing energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions to the lowest practicable level.

POLICY:
During the winter heating season (October 16-May 14), occupied spaces will be heated to 68-71 F; each School or Department will determine their specific targets. During the summer cooling season (May 15- October 15),
occupied spaces will be cooled to 74-76¿ (where air conditioning equipment currently exists); each School of Department will determine their specific targets. Buildings with stringent humidity requirements may operate below this range. Occupants are also reminded that personal space heaters or heating or cooling devices may present a safety risk and are prohibited from use unless provided by the building manager.

Notes:
These space temperature ranges are based on established standards for human comfort, productivity and safety. Harvard building occupants will be made aware of the specific space temperature targets and feedback systems in place in their buildings. Occupants are encouraged to work with local building management staff to achieve acceptable temperature, humidity and ventilation levels. Maximum comfort and efficiency will be achieved when occupants and building managers actively adapt to building conditions through modification of air flow, sunlight, and apparel choices, among other comfort factors. Actual spaces temperatures may vary across Harvard's building due to wide range of space types and building control systems on campus.

Harvard will periodically evaluate this temperature policy based on improvements to building systems; advances in occupant comfort and productivity research; and feedback from occupants.

We look forward to working with building occupants to create a comfortable and energy-conserving environment.

Man Freed After Conviction For Raping Disabled Woman

Richard Fourtin was released from jail after his appeal was approved because the judges felt that even though she is extremely handicapped, she could have tried to make him stop sexually assaulting her by kicking or biting him.

At the time of the attack in late 2005, Fourtin was dating the victim’s mother. The name of the victim, who was 26-years-old at the time, has never been released and was referred to in court using only her initials L.K.

The woman is so physically restricted by her cerebral palsy, she can only communicate using her right index finger. She has mental retardation and NBC Connecticut reports that she has the ‘intellectual functualy equivalent of a 3-year-old’.

This charming public spirited civilian took time from his busy life, volunteering to end the suffering of three men who he said were enemies of the United States.  No one was watching this gentleman. No police, no crime families, no Communists, no FBI informants, no campus police. But in Cambridge MA where they have a superior knowledge of public safety requirements,  all of the above take turns conducting 24/7 surveillance, harassment, threats, provocations, humiliation, ridicule, sleep deprivation of a 70-year-old white man who they say has a severe disability. Isn't that revealing of the high priorities of the host city of Harvard University and MIT? In Massachusetts prisoners convicted of homicide get taxpayer funded sex change operations along with counseling. But law abiding citizens get harassed and have their careers, and reputations thrashed as a public service using taxpayer funds. Is that why Mr. Obama won re-election? Do criminals rule the government mechanisms?
