He has done the GOP a favor by revealing the Democratic party’s strategic plan for defeating Scott Walker in 2016: smearing him as a “divisive” candidate who will send dog whistles to his white supporters and seek to run the table with the still-majority white voters to win the White House.

And they will win, if Republicans and Walker don’t fight back.

Authorities charged Drew Peterson -- a former Illinois cop convicted of murdering his third wife and the prime suspect in his fourth wife's disappearance -- with trying to hire a hit man to kill the lead prosecutor in his ex-wife's murder trial.
Attorney General Lisa Madigan and Randolph County State's Attorney Jeremy R. Walker on Monday filed a two-count criminal information against 61-year-old Peterson, charging him with one count of solicitation of murder for hire and one count of solicitation of murder, both Class X felonies.
The charges allege that between September 2013 and December 2014, Peterson plotted to hire a hit man to kill Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow, the prosecutor who led the 2012 trial that resulted in Peterson being convicted of killing his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

The bidding is sometimes open for only a few hours, at other times it can last for two or three days. The cheapest offer often wins.

Les Latchman, chairman of the Birmingham Care Consortium, which represents care homes in Birmingham and commissioned the FOI request, said the system was forcing providers to offer lower and lower prices to secure the contract.

Announcing that the initiative was part of the “Obama administration’s educational program,” Dice got numerous people to sign the petition while telling them over and over again that they were helping to “continue the spread of illiteracy”.
“A lot of kids just aren’t reading these days and a lot of adults just aren’t paying any attention at all, thank you for demonstrating that,” Dice tells one woman as she signs the petition.
“The young millenials, we’re just encouraging the illiteracy,” Dice tells another man whose partner has a baby as he signs the petition.
“A lot of people just aren’t paying any attention, aren’t reading, aren’t comprehending anything,” Dice tells another man who responds, “They’re stupid,” after signing the petition.
When another man asks Dice to clarify, he re-states that the petition is an Obama administration initiative to “spread more illiteracy”.
The video doesn’t feature anyone who refuses to sign the petition or even understands what the word “illiteracy” means.

Omaha Sen. Ernie Chambers said all white people are racist and that his blood was “polluted” by white people last week while filibustering a bill and lambasting a state education board member who has rejected calls for his resignation after his blog called the president a “half-breed.”

While trying to whittle away eight hours filibustering, Chambers talked Thursday about how his ancestors were enslaved and sexually abused by some of the nation’s “righteous,” Christian founding fathers.
What they were declaring in the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence was that they could do anything they wanted with black girls and women, he said.
“Oh yes, I have a great store of bitterness in me,” he said. “Why do you think I’m not black? Because some white person or persons jumped a fence and polluted the blood that is in my veins to this day.”
Recounting how blacks were promised voting rights if they served in the military, he said “white people don’t keep their word.”

Some said Chambers is a racist and should resign, too.
Chambers routinely denigrates “white people” and his fellow senators as racist and is rarely challenged, but his diatribe Friday finally raised the ire of a fellow filibusterer, Sen. Dave Bloomfield, R-Hoskins.
“I grow a little weary of the constant charge that we are all racist,” Bloomfield said on the floor of the Legislature. “What I see Senator Chambers doing here on a regular basis here I also feel is wrong.”

Hooded gunmen armed with Kalashnikovs have fired at police in the French city of Marseille, where the country's Prime Minister was due to visit later today.
The Castellane neighbourhood of the southern port city is now under lock down, including schools and colleges and a kindergarten after witnesses say they saw men in balaclavas firing weapons towards officers.
The director for public safety, Pierre-Marie Bourniquel, told local media that shots were fired at a police vehicle, narrowly missing it.

Caroline Pozmentier, deputy mayor of Marseille, suggested the incdient was part of a problem of drug trafficking in the area.
She said: 'This battle against drug trafficking is a long-term battle.'
By late morning heavily armed police could be seen surrounding the estate, which has a large Muslim community, many from North African backgrounds.

Media reports show that a rising tide of citizens throughout the continent -- and across the political spectrum -- are starting to express concerns over the high rates of immigration during the past two decades.
At modest rates, immigration can be a positive influence on a nation's socioeconomic structure, with newcomers bringing forth ideas and vitality. But when immigration rates are too high, particularly during otherwise difficult economic periods, social destabilization and economic resentment can set in. The political goal is to find the optimum rate of immigration. Some regions of Europe appear to be well above their optimum range, and may need decades of an effective halt to net immigration in order to let the unrest settle down.

A Cornell University sophomore was charged Tuesday with murder in the shotgun slaying of his CEO father inside the family’s home, authorities said.
The Monroe County sheriff’s office said deputies responded Monday night to a report of a domestic dispute at a home in Pittsford, an upscale suburb just southeast of Rochester.
When they arrived, deputies said, they found 19-year-old Charles Tan and his mother, Qing Tan, 46, standing in the driveway. Inside, they found the body of 49-year-old Ling Tan, president and CEO of Dynamax Imaging in nearby Canandaigua.
Police said the father had been shot several times with a shotgun, which was found in the garage. The elder Tan had wounds on his upper body, deputies said.
Charles Tan was arraigned Tuesday morning on a second-degree murder charge.

Police had been called to the home several times before for reports of domestic disputes, the sheriff’s office told the Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester. Specific information about the calls weren’t released.

Virginia prosecutors reportedly have filed charges of first-degree murder against Jesse Matthew in connection with the death of University of Virginia student Hannah Graham this past September.
The charges were reported by WVIR-TV in Charlottesville. The Albemarle County Police and Commonwealth Attorney’s Office have scheduled a press conference to discuss the case at 11 a.m. local time Tuesday.
Matthew, a former hospital worker, had previously been charged with abduction with intent to defile after Graham, 18, disappeared from a mall in downtown Charlottesville early on the morning of Sept. 13.
Surveillance video showed Graham as she walked or ran alone past a bar and a service station, then onto Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall. She sent friends a string of text messages, saying she was lost after leaving an off-campus party, according to police. Witnesses later told detectives she was seen with Matthew at a bar.

The remains were found about 12 miles from campus.

The remains were discovered roughly 6 miles from where the body of 20-year-old Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington was found after she vanished in 2009.

The economy wouldn’t be nearly as stable as reported if not for this massive injection of government steroids. Liberal, or Keynesian, economists think that’s a positive feature of the new health law. But it’s actually a drawback.
Over time, higher taxes and spending act as a drag on the economy, crowding out private investment. Almost 90 percent of ObamaCare users get federal aid. As a result, a new CBO report projects ObamaCare subsidies will balloon to nearly $2 trillion over the next decade, only partially paid for by more than $640 billion in ObamaCare taxes and fines, which means more government borrowing and more upward pressure on interest rates.
A government-funded flood of new patients, many of them forced into mandatory spending on services they didn’t previously want or need, may be good for the health care sector, but it drains revenue from other sectors of the economy. That means GDP won’t reach its full potential. University of Chicago economist Casey Mulligan estimates that the Affordable Care Act will reduce GDP by 5 percent in the long run, thanks to all of its offsetting negative provisions.

If you ignore the cringe-worthy opening line of this article from the Pew Research Center – the Holocaust did far worse than “decimate” Europe’s Jewish population – you will find some interesting facts. In a nutshell, Europe’s Jewish population continues to decline. There are now approximately 1.4 million Jews living in Europe, compared to 9.5 million in 1939. Only 10 percent of the world’s Jews now live in Europe, and a mere 0.2 percent of Europeans are Jewish.
And apparently, Europe’s Jewish population will only continue to decline. Thousands of French Jews, for example, are emigrating each year, most commonly to Israel.
A Europe without Jews would be almost without precedent; the continent has played host to Jewish communities for millennia. It would also be an immeasurably poorer place, in myriad ways. We’re talking about the culture that produced Kafka, Freud, and Stefan Zweig – in addition to the bagel.

The Obama administration is refusing to publicly release more than 500 documents on the IRS’s targeting of Tea Party groups.
Twenty months after the IRS scandal broke, there are still many unanswered questions about who was spearheading the agency’s scrutiny of conservative-leaning organizations.

It also claimed it cannot release relevant documents “when interference with the law enforcement proceedings can be reasonably expected.”
Yet, congressional Republicans say there is no evidence of any prosecution in the works, and media outlets have indicated that the Department of Justice and the FBI have already determined that no charges will be filed.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) notes that eight months after Lerner was held in contempt of Congress for not testifying at two hearings, the matter has not yet been referred to a grand jury. The contempt citation is in the hands of Ronald Machen, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia who was appointed by President Obama.

Police arrested Freundel on Oct. 14 after a person associated with the mikvah discovered the hidden camera. Police initially found videos of six women entering and exiting a mikvah shower, and court documents say Freundel appears on film setting up the recording device. A search of his home turned up other media storage devices, and he has since been fired from the synagogue.
During Wednesday's meeting, prosecutors told victims, their spouses and some lawyers representing them that an investigation had determined Freundel had filmed 152 women. Prosecutors said 88 of the women had been filmed within the last three years. They said another 64 were filmed going back to 2009, though a statute of limitations bars prosecutors from charging Freundel with voyeurism based on those recordings.

Sweden has cut interest rates below zero and launched quantitative easing to fight deflation, becoming the latest Scandinavian state to join Europe’s escalating currency wars.
The Riksbank caught markets by surprise, reducing the benchmark lending rate to minus 0.10pc and unveiled its first asset purchases, vowing to take further action at any time to stop the country falling into a deflationary trap. The bank presented the move as precautionary step due to rising risks of a “poorer outcome abroad” and the crisis in Greece.
Janet Henry from HSBC said the measures are clearly a “beggar-thy neighbour” manoeuvre to weaken the krone, the latest such action in a global currency war that does little to tackle the deeper problem of deficient world demand.
The move comes as neighbouring Denmark takes ever more drastic steps to stop a flood of money overwhelming its exchange rate peg to the euro and tightening the deflationary noose.

The White House Press Secretary, Josh Earnest, said that it does not take away from the players' accomplishments, because of what the parents and adults did to enable their cheating. The magnificent new book “Hollywood Traitors” by Allan Ryskind, son of Hollywood royalty (Marx Brothers screenwriter Morrie Ryskind), has been published just in time for the release of “Trumbo,” in which Bryan Cranston will portray Hitler apologist Dalton Trumbo as a hero.
I’m guessing the movie skips over Trumbo’s aggressive efforts to prevent America from joining the fight against Hitler. To that end, Trumbo wrote two of the most ghastly anti-war films ever made, “Johnny Got His Gun,” released as a novel in 1939, and “The Remarkable Andrew,” published in 1941.

To place this in context for Hollywood half-brights, in 1938 Hitler invaded Austria and seized the Sudetenland — sweeping through the rest of Czechoslovakia the following year. On Sept. 1, 1939, the Fuhrer invaded Poland, finally forcing France and England to go to war with Germany.
As Ryskind notes in his magnificent insider’s account of such monstrous treacheries as Trumbo’s, by 1939, Hitler’s persecution of the Jews was not a secret. He had attempted to exclude Jews and blacks from the 1936 Olympics. Jews had been banned from government, journalism, farming, teaching and the theater, among other professions in Germany. They were prohibited from purchasing most food or medicine. In 1938, the Gestapo staged Kristallnacht, looting and burning thousands of Jewish businesses across Germany, incinerating about a thousand synagogues and murdering scores of Jews.
(And remember: This was before the U.N. came along and made Jew-hating a legitimate foreign policy.)

The CBS reporter died when the Lincoln Town Car he was riding in crashed with a Mercedes and then lost control and plowed into a pedestrian expansion near 30th Street at about 7 p.m., according to sources.
Cops had to cut off the top of the Lincoln to free Simon and the driver, who, according to a law enforcement sources, was treated for a possible heart attack by EMTs.
The driver of the Mercedes said the livery driver was driving erratically.

At about 9:45 PM I learned that the reason there were no police directing traffic during the fire emergency, was that the emergency fire dispatcher forgot to tell the emergency police dispatcher, who sit about three feet from each other.  Firemen from neighboring communities joined in supporting the four-alarm fire. I only know that Brookline was one of them. At about 9:45 PM traffic was diverted from Mass Avenue both north and south. Traffic on Cambridge Street eastbound was stopped due to traffic coming from Harvard Square diverted onto Cambridge Street.

On its 11 o'clock news, WBZ-TV reported the building was at "1616 Mass Avenue between Everett [Street] and Waterhouse [Street]." They got it wrong.

The large apartment building at 1610 Massachusetts Avenue and Chauncey Street in Cambridge is surrounded by firemen and equipment. There is a problem with frozen hydrants. Traffic in the area is snarled as far as Concord Avenue. When I passed the site about fifteen minutes ago (7:40 PM) there were no policemen directing traffic. At least one Cambridge police detective was on site. Firemen tried to help fire trucks get into place. One ladder extended to the roof of the building and one firemen went onto the roof. There was smoke in the air. Many people remained in their apartments. They could be seen looking out of their windows. Students from Harvard Law School across Mass Avenue were standing on the corner gawking. I asked some of the law studnet of they would "give back," or do some public service by directing traffic. No one volunteered. Equipment on scene were from Engine and Ladder 1, 2, 5 and 6.

In each instance, the actual trend of 60 years of data had been dramatically reversed, so that a cooling trend was changed to one that showed a marked warming.
This was only the latest of many examples of a practice long recognised by expert observers around the world – one that raises an ever larger question mark over the entire official surface-temperature record.

Twenty-eight inmates escaped from a Brazilian jail after three women in fantasy police costumes "seduced" prison wardens.
Police found three wardens naked and handcuffed inside the Nova Mutum public jail, near Cuiaba, central Brazil, the morning after the mass break-out.
The women reportedly drugged the prison guards by giving them spiked whisky after convincing them to take part in an orgy, according to investigators.
Inmates then left the prison through the main doors, even taking with them guns and munitions they had taken from prison caches.
Police later found a bag of lingerie and dominatrix police uniforms believed to have been worn by the temptresses.

On Friday eight of the 28 prisoners had been recaptured as police launched a massive operation to track down the fugitives.

A 46-year-old man was charged with the fatal shooting of three students at a quiet condominium complex near theUniversity of North Carolina campus, the police said on Wednesday, in what may have been a lethal escalation of a neighborhood parking dispute.

A recent Pew poll showed that half the country now believes ­Islam is more likely than other religions to encourage violence, a new high. By denying that reality, Obama fights the public, and each new atrocity only increases the distance between him and the rest of America.

No adult who ever ran a complex organization or business would behave that way. That the president and the mayor still do reflects willful ignorance.
It’s no wonder, then, that the nation and the city are bitterly divided and badly managed, with multiple crises sapping public confidence. To expect anything better is to be as amateurish as our leaders.

I never asked Jim Kerasiotes about his political affiliations, but now it’s clear that whatever he is, the former Big Dig boss is NOT a Democrat.
We know this because Thursday he was sentenced to six months in prison for failing to pay the IRS $31,448 in back taxes.
Thirty-one grand and you go to Club Fed — are you kidding me?
At last count the Rev. Al Sharpton owed $4.5 million in back taxes, and he goes to the White House.
What could possibly explain why Obama and Eric Holder treat the reverend with kid gloves and then bring down the iron fist on Jimmy the K?

Suspect Shoots DEA Agent Who Broke Into His Home During Drug Raid

In a related situation New Jersey state law permits renters and homeowners to use deadly force on anyone who tries to remove them from a lawful premises. After an illegal lockout by my landlord I obtained a state court order for re-entry, specifically allowing me to break locks. After showing the order to the police sergeant on duty and explaining my plan, 14 police officers arrested me when I was executing the court order. Under state laws I imagine I was permitted to use deadly force on all 14 officers. I did not and remain alive. Heh, heh.

At issue: whether Joel Robinson, 32, is guilty of a crime for shootinga DEA agent in the first few seconds of a surprise federal law enforcement raid last October at his Orangeburg house.
Agents expected to find a cache of drugs, but a search of the premises found nothing but a small amount of marijuana for recreational use, according to legal records in the case.
Robinson is expected to claim self-defense, saying he did what any citizen would have in assuming he was the target of a home invasion – grabbing a gun and firing a half-dozen shots in the direction of those he assumed were home invaders.

An indictment in the case charges Robinson with being in a drug manufacturing conspiracy in South Carolina and Georgia with two other men. Robinson is also charged with assaulting individuals executing a search warrant and using a firearm during a drug trafficking crime.
According to the indictment, chemicals to manufacture an illegal drug allegedly were transported from the Atlanta area to Robinson’s house in Orangeburg, and Robinson and the other men then transported the chemicals to other places.
The gun Robinson fired was a .45 caliber Taurus handgun with a laser sight, according to the indictment.
In addition to seeking a guilty finding from the jury, federal prosecutors also want Robinson to forfeit his house and four pistols, four rifles and two shotguns found at his house.
Robinson, who is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center, has hired two experienced criminal defense lawyers, Dick Harpootlian and Jim Griffin, both of Columbia, to defend him.

My body’s betrayal was no more, I was free, and for the first time since the airplane incident, I felt strong. I had done something positive, something that would actually make a difference, something good, even though as I would find out, many others wouldn’t see it that way.”
She continues later, “I stand by my decision to abort my baby because it was a male.” And if she is ever pregnant with a boy once more, “I would do the exact same thing all over again.”

British Jews Leaving UK Due to Increasing Anti Semitism

Our local Jewish schools look like prison camps. They’re surrounded by wire fences. There are guards on patrol, some with dogs. On Saturdays, you see police walking the street with members of the CST. I don’t want to sit at home panicking when my husband goes to the synagogue. I just want to live in peace.”

He praises the Government’s response to the problem, but doubts its ability to stop it.
But how does a family like the Goulds start a new life where they know almost no one? (Honey has a grandmother in California, but the family will be living many hundreds of miles away from her.) One wonders why they don’t make Israel their home. Instead, they are relocating to Scottsdale in the Arizona state capital of Phoenix. Home to more than 100,000 Jews, it is a community they believe is large enough for them to feel comfortable in.

The families of a victim and his killer displayed grief, forgiveness and redemption Thursday as a Spokane judge sent 17-year-old Kenan Adams-Kinard to prison for 20 years in the beating death of World War II veteran Delbert “Shorty” Belton.
The 2013 murder garnered national media attention as much for Belton’s status as a war veteran as for the racial overtones: The two teens suspected of attacking and robbing him as he sat in his parked car outside the Eagles Lodge in north Spokane are black; Belton, who later died from the beating, is white. Demetruis Glenn, the other teen accused in Belton’s death, is scheduled to stand trial in March.
