Billionaire George Soros, Funds Democrats, Avoids Taxes With Off Shore Money Havens

Billionaire George Soros, who has spent millions of dollars financing Democrats and left-wing causes, used a controversial Panamanian law firm to establish a web of offshore investment partnerships that operate around the world and out of the scrutiny of U.S. regulators, according to leaked documents.
The so-called Panama Papers, a trove of 11.5 million financial documents tracing the Mossack Fonseca law firm’s efforts to help politicians, celebrities and criminals shield their money from taxes, contain links to Soros, who funds the journalism group that is disseminating the information. So far, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) has been silent on its benefactor’s ties to the law firm.



Three offshore investment vehicles controlled by Soros are catalogued in the Panama Papers. Soros Finance, Inc. was incorporated in Panama; Soros Holdings Limited was set up in the British Virgin Islands and a limited partnership called Soros Capital was created in Bermuda.
The laws of Panama, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands and a score of “tax havens” allow foreign firms to hide ownership of cash, real estate and other assets from securities regulators and tax collectors in the countries where they are physically headquartered.
On May 9, client data stolen from the Mossack Fonseca law firm in Panama was published online by the ICIJ as part of its Offshore Leaks database. The searchable database contains a portion of the offshore financial records given to the journalists by anonymous whistle-blowers since 2013; it does not include leaked emails and other explanatory data that ICIJ reporters use to write about the offshore financial holdings of newsworthy individuals.
News stories about offshore bank accounts revealed by the Panama Papers brought down Iceland’s prime minister last month. Heads of state, Hollywood stars, heiresses, arms dealers and drug lords who established secret offshore companies and bank accounts are outed almost daily by the ICIJ.

Soros, 86, is worth an estimated $25 billion. His Open Society Institute is one of ICIJ’s main funders, granting it $1.5 million last year. The Panama Papers data reveals only the tip of Soros' offshore iceberg, the Quantum Group of Funds. The ICIJ’s leader, journalist Gerard Ryle, said he had not noticed Soros’ companies in the Offshore Leaks database until FoxNews.com called the matter to his attention.

Because it is based offshore, the Quantum Group of Funds is not normally subject to regulation by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. But in the mid-1990s, Soros Capital bought several SEC-regulated firms, an act which required it to disclose the basic design of the Quantum network of interlocking offshore companies and bank accounts that shield Soros’ billions.
Soros Capital set up an offshore company in the Cayman Islands for the purpose of investing private equity with the Carlyle Group, alongside members of Saudi Arabia’s Bin Laden family. Carlyle’s partners include ex-heads of state and former CIA officials. The private equity partnership specializes in buying and selling weapons manufacturing and intelligence gathering companies with government and military contracts and it also uses secret offshore companies to conduct business.

Soros is certainly newsworthy. In 1992, the self-styled philosopher-economist nearly bankrupted the Bank of England by manipulating the price of the pound. Five years later, he exacerbated a regional economic crisis by betting against Thai and Malaysian currencies. Billions of dollars in profits from Soros’ currency-pummeling moves flowed through the Quantum Group of Funds.
Soros is the sole proprietor of Manhattan-based Soros Fund Management LLC, which controls his offshore empire. In July 2011, Soros closed the multibillion-dollar fund to all but members of his immediate family, allowing him to escape the Dodd-Frank Act mandate for hedge funds to disclose investors and conflicts of interest. A few months later, Soros lost the final appeal of his 2002 convictionby a French court for insider trading. But he remains a potent political force.
In 2014, Soros donated $381 million of Quantum Group of Funds shares to his Open Society philanthropy. The New York-based charitable foundation supports hundreds of advocacy groups, academic research and investigative journalists that align with Soros’ oft-stated goal to promote globalized capitalism and democracy.



On the other hand, the Panama Papers’ leaker, known as John Doe, said that he had exposed the vast cluster of offshore firms and bank accounts, because “income inequality” and “massive, pervasive corruption” are “the defining issues of our time.”
Soros’ offshore companies may not pay U.S. taxes (his spokesperson, Michael Vachon, declined to answer that question), but the billionaire donates lots of money to Democrats who write and enforce the tax laws. In the 2004 presidential election, he contributed $24 million to George Bush’s opponents. He is the largest donor to Hillary Clinton’s campaign for the presidency, plunking down $8 million, so far. He has donated “up to $1 million” to the Clinton Foundation. And Secretary of State Clinton’s emails reveal that Soros has lobbied her on behalf of his interests, which encircle the globe, mostly in the dark.

The unholy trinity comprises the leaders of the Democratic Liars Club. Whether born or convicted, the president of the United States, his would-be successor and the mayor of New York are, to borrow a phrase, “people of the lie.”
This is not to accuse them of being merely imperfect humans. It is to say they are chronically dishonest and concoct such significant lies that they deserve zero public trust.
The latest clincher is the admission of a top White House aide that much about the Iranian nuclear deal was a fabrication sold to a lazy, gullible press corps. Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes boasts that most reporters were too dumb to know or care they were being misled.
“The average reporter we talk to is 27 years old, and their only reporting experience consists of being around political campaigns,” Rhodes told The New York Times. “They literally know nothing.”
He said that much of what passed for independent analysis of Iran in the media was a regurgitation of White House talking points. “We created an echo chamber,” he gloated. “They were saying things that validated what we had given them to say.”
Rhodes thus joins the infamous Jonathan Gruber, the administration insider caught conceding that ObamaCare was designed to exploit the “stupidity of the American voter.” If people understood the plain meaning, Gruber said, the law would not have survived.
The twin admissions mean Obama’s self-described legacy accomplishments — the Iran deal and the Affordable Care Act — are fraudulent to the core. Even worse, Obama himself led the charge for both scams, insisting that anyone who opposed the Iran deal wanted war, and that under ObamaCare, “you can keep your doctor.”
The implications are enormous and resolve any doubts that Obama is a con man in a league of his own. Instead of getting the Nobel Peace Prize, he is worthy of the Joseph Goebbels Award for proving Goebbels’ claim that “if you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”
Unfortunately, both the Iran deal and ObamaCare will outlast Obama’s term and do lasting damage to America, and in the case of Iran, the whole world. They make Watergate look like amateur hour.

It is a reflection of Washington’s hollowed-out morals, and Obama’s personal corruption, that Clinton has not been charged in the e-mail scandal. Her failure to protect national-security secrets make her unfit for any office, yet millions of Americans are ready to entrust her with their well-being and safety.

The latest report has the feds investigating his 2013 campaign, which comes on top of probes focused on possible financial shenanigans in 2014, 2015 and this year. In short, much of his career is suspected of being one long crime wave.
Like his pals in the Democratic Liars Club, de Blasio fights truth with imaginary victimization. “How convenient that when we’re doing a lot of work to help everyday people, there’s all sorts of efforts being made to obscure that work,” he said of the probes.
That disinformation echoes Obama’s nasty tendency to accuse dissenters of ignorance and corruption or, when that fails, racism. Clinton, of course, retreats behind charges of sexism and, when that fails, claims to spot a vast right-wing conspiracy.

I am not making a case that Trump is the second coming of Reagan, yet they share the distinction of stoking the enthusiasm of the party’s rank-and-file despite powerful internal resistance. Reagan was regarded by top Republicans such as Nelson Rockefeller and Barry Goldwater as a dangerous simpleton.

Worse things are said about Trump, and defectors include the 2012 nominee, Mitt Romney, and some GOP senators. House Speaker Paul Ryan says he’s not ready to endorse Trump, and both former Presidents Bush may not support him.
The resistance seems genuine and can be respected on one condition: that the dissenters acknowledge they are playing with fire.

White House Refuses to Recognize Terrorism and Depravity of Muslim Extremists

In Nigeria, violent killings of Christians are up 62 percent according to Open Doors which monitors religiously motivated violence and persecution. In 2015 there were 4,028 killings and 198 church attacks, nearly double those of the previous year. Since 2009, 11,500 Christians were killed, 13,000 churches were destroyed and 1.3 million Christians have fled to safer areas of Nigeria or have attempted to reach Europe.
According to Rose Gamble, "the persecution of Christians is carried out by three groups: Islamist terror group, Boko Haram, Muslim Fulani herdsmen; and the Muslim religious and political elite that dominate northern Nigeria. In fact, several areas of northern Nigeria have seen Christianity virtually wiped out."
The ongoing ISIS slaughter of Christians has resulted in the European Parliament unanimously passing a resolution referring to the Islamic State's (ISIS) killing of religious minorities under its control as "genocide" in the Middle East. But the Obama administration dithers and when asked, White House spokesman Josh Earnest claims that the word genocide "involves a very specific legal determination that has, at this point, not been reached." This should come as no surprise since the FBI has "released a new edition of its anti-terror video game, 'Don't Be a Puppet' that scrubs all references to Islamic terrorism" per the demands of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR). Thus, as Clare M. Lopez explains, "Islamic jihad is now excluded from a list of potential terror threats."
Additionally, in Canada "Conservative MP Cheryl Gallant has called out Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over his refusal to recognize as 'genocide' the sweeping targeting of Christians by ISIS in the Middle East." And so, “[t]housands of Yazidis have been summarily executed, killed, or, in the case of Yazidi women, kidnapped and sold into slavery by ISIS.

Nina Shea, Director, for the Center for Religious Freedom at Hudson Institute has repeatedly publicized the plight of these people and emphatically asserts that
[t]he Islamist genocide -- and there can be no doubt that it is genocide, despite world silence -- of the Christians, Yazidis, Mandeans, and other defenseless ethno-religious minorities of Syria and Iraq continues. The killing of these peoples is deliberate and brutal and is rooted in religious hatred of the 'infidel.' It is meted out in sudden violent executions, mass deportations, and the gradual, methodical destruction of their civilizations.
Washington is blind to this genocide that occurs alongside, but is separate from, a sectarian Muslim power struggle. It has failed to defend them militarily. Now it is failing to provide humanitarian help in the only manner left: resettling the survivors out of harm’s way, in countries where they will be able to rebuild their families and preserve their unique ancient cultures without fear.

But given that Obama invokes the Crusades and the Inquisition, as a means of ignoring Islamic terrorism, the antipathy against Christianity is not surprising.

In Germany the Father Superior of St. George the Victorious Monastery in Gotschendorf wrote that "Christian refugees from Syria, Eritrea, and other countries are exposed to humiliation, manhunts, and brutal harassment at the camps for refugees by their Muslim neighbors. Trump Courts Working Class White Citizens, Who Democrats Abandoned

An interesting feature of this year’s presidential election is Hillary Clinton’s heavy dependence on blacks and, to a slightly lesser degree, Hispanics voters. Bernie Sanders has also been trolling for their votes.
If the 2016 Democrat candidate for the presidency has to depend on massive support in the black and Hispanic communities to carry the election, this would continue Democrats’ shift away from heavy dependence on white working-class voters. This historic transition was admitted by Obama’s advisor David Axelrod early in 2008, and was a feature of Obama’s quest for re-election in 2012. Only 36% of working-class whites voted for him in 2012.
That is a far smaller percentage than Franklin D. Roosevelt reaped in four presidential elections between 1932 and 1944. Indeed, the white working-class constituted the backbone of the New Deal coalition, which made the Democrat Party the majority party in America from the 1930s to the mid-1960s.Today’s alienation between the Democratic Party and working-class whites is not the first occasion on which large percentages of the group voted for a Republican presidential candidate. In the 1980s, for example, we heard much about the “Reagan Democrats,” who were mostly white blue collar workers outside the South who labored in so-called “rust belt” industries, jobs that would soon be gone with the wind. Those Reagan Democrats contributed to the Gipper’s landslide victories in 1980 and 1984, and enabled George H. W. Bush (#41) to win the presidency in 1988.

To a certain degree in 2000 and 2004, which became much more pronounced under Obama in 2008 and 2012, the Democratic Party visibly aligned itself with blacks and other minorities, in the process leaving working-class whites feeling deserted.
There are two odd, and initially, difficult to fathom, features of today’s political parties. One focuses on the Democrats, the other, on the GOP[. . .]
First, it is puzzling that a political party whose elites have harped on the issue of increased income inequality in America, and repeatedly promised to rein in Wall Street fat cats in particular and the one-percenters in general as well as advocating soak-the-rich tax policies, would be so dismissive of the white working-class that was once a major part of that party’s base. After all, are not white blue-collar workers also part of the ninety-nine percent whom Democrat elites claim to represent?
Yet Democrat elites have deserted working-class whites, and seek votes elsewhere.
The second puzzle surrounding the white working class is the -- so far -- apparent failure of the GOP to court their votes on a systematic basis. Although some demographers claim the white working-class is “a dying breed” -- largely because the kinds of jobs they’ve typically held are disappearing -- they still comprise between 30 and 35 percent of the country’s population. [. . .]
Decades later, even though Democrat elites seem willing -- eager, some would say -- to turn their backs on a sizable segment of the electorate that once had been key to the party’s majority status, the Republican establishment seems to be doing little, if anything, to attract those people’s votes.

The Republican Party has long been known as the party of business. Even at the height of the Great Depression, which had seriously tarnished businessmen’s reputation, the GOP clung to their (financial and ideological) coattails, and lost its majority party standing as one consequence.
By 2016, big business has long since abandoned the GOP. As big business learned how to work with, and even benefit from, big government, business types increasingly aligned with the party of big government, i.e., the Democrats. [. . .] Unlike labor unions, who donate almost entirely to Democrats’ campaigns, large corporations split their donations between the two major parties.

the GOP elites’ panting after the so-called donor class, [. . .] don’t seem to have heard that the Sanders campaign relies mostly on small money donations, or that lavishly-funded campaigns don’t always succeed. (Ask Jeb Bush.)
Harvesting millions of new votes from a previously untapped bloc of citizens will win more elections than soliciting a few big contributions that may be equaled, or even topped, by donations to the other party. In addition, don’t assume that big bucks are always spent wisely in a campaign. (Ask Jeb Bush.)
The Democrats are forfeiting millions of working-class whites’ votes. The Republican Party should appeal to them, reap the votes, and laugh all the way to the inauguration.

Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is flagging ESPN and its reporter Adam Schefter for posting his private medical records online to millions of readers.
Pierre-Paul, 27, sued ESPN and Schefter in a Florida court Wednesday, citing a violation of his privacy.
The NFL player blew off a finger in a July 4 fireworks mishap and was treated at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, according to his lawyers Mitchell Schuster and Kevin Fritz.
Schefter “improperly obtained” Pierre-Paul’s medical chart showing the defensive end had his right index finger amputated and posting the record on Twitter to nearly 4 million followers, the suit says.

The reporter said he tweeted the image of the medical record to bolster a story about the surgery.
Schefter, 49, who lives in New York, is a regular contributor to ESPN TV programs like “NFL Insiders,” “Monday Night Countdown” and “SportsCenter.”
Pierre-Paul’s Miami Dade County civil suit, which does not specify money damages, says that while the player’s injury may have been “a matter of legitimate public concern,” the “chart was not.”

Donald Trump swung back at President Barack Obama and Republican Governor Nikki Haley this morning over their comments disparaging him last night in their dueling State of the Union speeches.
Neither mentioned Trump by name, but their comments were pointedly directed at the bombastic presidential candidate who is running circles around his opponents in the GOP race.
On Fox and Friends this morning, Trump said in a phone interview that Obama is 'living in a fantasy land' and Haley is 'very weak on immigration.'

On Fox and Friends Trump was asked about the comments and the Republican said, 'He didn't mention my name, and perhaps he was talking about somebody else' while acknowledging that remarks were interpreted as a rebuff of his politics.
'He doesn't mention the radical Islamic terrorism. He doesn't want to use those terms. He doesn't want to talk about it,' Trump said, cutting into Obama for steering clear of the San Bernardino last night.

Continuing, Trump said, 'He doesn't want to talk about what's going on in the world, the real facts that are going on in the world. He's living in a fantasy land. I think this man is living in a fantasy land.'
Trump also criticized the Obama administration's response to the Iran's capture of 10 American sailors who said they unintentionally entered Tehran's waters.
Asked if the United States should have apologized - a matter that is now in dispute with Iran saying the U.S. did, and that is why the sailors were released, and the State Department saying it did not - Trump, said, ‘No we shouldn't have apologized.'
‘They shouldn’t have held these people at any point.’

‘They held them, and they only let them go they want to collect the money because they're not stupid people,’ Trump said, referring to the Iran nuclear accord, which he says was ‘one of the dumbest deals in the history of our country.’
As a result of pact, Iran will receive a $100 billion pay out from oil sale funds it did not have access to before.
Trump says it will give ‘hundreds of billions of dollars’ to Tehran. ‘I think it's a disgrace.’
‘It's very, very sad that they held them at all,’ Trump said of the released soldiers. ‘What they are doing is essentially they are taunting us.’
‘They continue to taunt us,’ he said, ‘because they feel we don’t have very much leadership. Which of course, they're '100 percent correct.’



Turning to Haley, who admitted this morning that was in fact talking about Trump last night when she said 'during anxious times, it can be tempting to follow the siren call of the angriest voices,' he blasted her stance on illegal immigration as 'very weak.'
The billionaire further said Haley, a two-term governor, has had ‘no trouble asking me for campaign contributions’ over the years.
Haley, he said, has asked him for ‘a hell of a lot of money’ in the past. ‘Perhaps if I weren’t running she'd be in my office asking me for money.’
‘But now that I'm running, she wants to take a weak shot on illegal immigration,' he said.

Trump said his criticisms did not extend to the ‘incredible people’ of South Carolina, where the Republican said has a ‘massive lead’ in the polls.
‘I love her state. I'm there a lot,’ he said.
Up an average of 11 points above his competitors there, Trump’s the favorite to win the Palmetto State, along with the overall GOP nomination.
Haley, now the nation’s only Indian-American governor, has been talked about as a possible running mate to whoever the Republican nominee is.
Trump indicated that Haley wouldn’t be on the short list if he’s the one choosing.
‘Whoever I pick is also going to be very strong on illegal immigration,’ he said.

They are energetic suppressors of free speech.

Fear Of Global Warming Is Used By Democrats Who Say Republicans Use Terrorism to Scare Americans

While journalists and liberal politicians condemn stirring up fear about Muslim terrorists, they do the very same fear mongering they condemn by scaring people about global warming which is based on unreliable computer models. How humorous is that?

The “fear” hyperbole being disseminated by our media today discounts the attitude, innovation, practicality, and determination of the American people. It encourages terrorists and their leaders. If Americans are that fearful, then terrorism is succeeding, for that is the terrorists’ first goal: to terrorize us, to weaken us, to make us afraid and incapable of defending ourselves.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is an American parable in which Huck and the people around him evolve as Twain thought America should evolve: away from the stratified society symbolized by kings, dukes, and dear old dingbats fortified behind social barriers and white picket fences, and towards an egalitarian world in which intelligence and character count, but neither birth nor color do.
Thus the storyline turns on Huck's ability to transcend the culture in which he was raised to form a lasting friendship with that culture's ultimate bogeyman:

Texas Democrats, Unlawfully Reveal Medical Records Of District Attorney, Openly Show Bigotry Toward Persons With Disabilities

Indicates routine lawlessness of Democrats revealing medical records in violation of privacy laws. But also it shows bigotry of Democrats against persons with disabilities contrary to state and US discrimination laws. Hawk, a Republican, wanted to resign in July because of suicidal thoughts, according to the magazine. Instead, she spent two months at the Menninger Clinic, a premier psychiatric hospital in Houston.
D Magazine reported that Hawk thought about overdosing on sleeping pills before she checked herself into the mental health facility. While there, she was diagnosed with major depressive disorder, considered strangling herself with a blow dryer cord and, at one point, was officially committed after telling a nurse: “I’m going to kill myself anyway. Just let me go home,” the magazine reported after an interview with Hawk.
Dallas County Democrats responded Sunday by releasing a statement in which they moved beyond nuanced calls for her resignation and explicitly pushed for her ouster.
“Just weeks ago, our top law enforcement official was involuntarily committed after threatening to kill herself. … In view of the facts that have just recently been revealed, Susan owes it to herself, not to mention her nearly 500 employees and the taxpayers, to resign and to concentrate on getting well,” party chairwoman Carol Donovan said.
Hawk clarified Sunday night that she was at the facility “voluntarily the entire time.” The D Magazine story said she checked herself into the hospital but became committed after threatening to kill herself.
“I’m good. I’m healthy,” Hawk told The Dallas Morning News late Sunday. “I’m not going to let this sort of attack get to me or change that. The reason I told my story is because I wanted to help people. It’s that simple.”

Dallas County Republican Party Chairman Wade Emmert shot back on Twitter, denouncing the Democrats as hypocrites for attacking Hawk but supporting Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is under federal indictment.

An undercover video shows a member of the Texas state house talking about apparent connections to organized crime and his meeting with a sheriff who allegedly told him his friendship meant the rep could get away with murder.
Now Texas Democratic Rep. Harold Dutton says he was simply making the whole story up at the time.
Ben Wetmore, general counsel for the American Pheonix Foundation, the organization which produced the undercover video, told TheDCNF it was recorded at a hotel in downtown Austin in April.
In the video provided exclusively to The Daily Caller News Foundation, Dutton says he was told that Austin lobbyist Nick Kralj, who he describes as his “forever friend,” has connections to the Bonnano crime family based out of New York. Dutton, who can be seen drinking wine, also talks about former Galveston Sheriff Joe Max Taylor, saying he flew to Galveston with Kralj and the sheriff told him that since he’s the sheriff, so they could get away with anything, like, say, killing someone.

He has done the GOP a favor by revealing the Democratic party’s strategic plan for defeating Scott Walker in 2016: smearing him as a “divisive” candidate who will send dog whistles to his white supporters and seek to run the table with the still-majority white voters to win the White House.

A senior Israeli official suggested on Friday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had been misled into thinking an invitation to address the U.S. Congress on Iran next month was fully supported by the Democrats.
Netanyahu was invited by the Republican speaker of the house, John Boehner, to address Congress on March 3, an invitation Boehner originally described as bipartisan.
The move angered the White House, which is upset about the event coming two weeks before Israeli elections and that Netanyahu, who has a testy relationship with Democratic President Barack Obama, is expected to be critical of U.S. policy on Iran.
"It appears that the speaker of Congress made a move, in which we trusted, but which it ultimately became clear was a one sided move and not a move by both sides," Deputy Israeli Foreign Minister Tzachi Hanegbi told 102 FM Tel Aviv Radio on Friday.
