Sharyl Attkisson has written a great analysis of this, and it is a fact that Trump did not say what he's being reputed to have said. He said it one time, he was answering a question, and he said that McCain's not a hero, captured, and he changed and said four different times he is a hero, he is a war hero. McCain is a war hero. He said that four times.
The Washington Post, for example, did not report that at all, never reported that Trump said it once, much less four times. Anyway, see, the facts don't really matter in a circumstance like this. That's another thing. What actually was said by the offending party and the context in which it was said are purposely blurred, lied about, or ignored.

Anyway, so Trump says what he says about McCain following McCain's insult of Trump's voters, or supporters, calling them crazies, people in his own state. This ticked Trump off. He doesn't want to think that people support him on immigration or anything else are a bunch of crazy wackos, and McCain characterized them as that. And nobody suggested McCain apologize to the American people. Nobody suggested McCain apologize for that characterization of American citizens, "crazies."

So the convention wisdom erupts into full bloom. The media, the Washington establishment, conservative and liberal both, immediately demand that Trump apologize.

Trump hasn't apologized. Not only has Trump not apologized, he has doubled down and he has to added to his original criticism of McCain. He's calling McCain a bad guy. McCain's a lousy politician. McCain talks a lot but doesn't do anything, Trump says. The VA is a mess. Illegal immigration's a mess. Everything we hear McCain say he supports or cares about, it's all going to hell. He's a bad guy. He's not a good politician. I'm trying to save America. I'm not gonna apologize.

A majority of the American people don't trust the media. A majority of the American people consider the media a problem.

The American people haven't seen something like this in a long time. I'm serious. They have not seen an embattled public figure stand up for himself, double down, and tell everybody to go to hell.

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh blasted President Barack Obama’s insistence that climate change “poses the world’s biggest threat” Monday after hundreds drowned trying to flee Libya and ISIS beheaded more Christians over the weekend.
Opening his Monday program, Limbaugh called climate change “one of the biggest scams that has ever been perpetrated on the people of the world,” adding that the whole idea isn’t “even worth a factual discussion.”
The comments Limbaugh was questioning came from Obama’s weekly address on Saturday, in which he said there is “no greater threat” than climate change ahead of Earth Day, which he plans to spend in the Florida Everglades.
“The point is that we got Iran on the verge of a nuclear weapon. ISIS is on the march beheading and killing Christians everywhere…There is mass murder, there is death, there is mayhem, there is torture, there is slavery. The human condition is in great peril all over the world,” Limbaugh said. “And here he comes again, Barack Hussein O, the President of the United States on Saturday saying that climate change poses the world’s biggest threat. It’s just silly. It’s not even worth a factual discussion.”

A 46-year-old man was charged with the fatal shooting of three students at a quiet condominium complex near theUniversity of North Carolina campus, the police said on Wednesday, in what may have been a lethal escalation of a neighborhood parking dispute.
The shooting, which left three Muslim students dead, occurred Tuesday around 5 p.m. and according to two 911 calls that came in just after the incident, five to 10 shots had been fired.
The three victims, one man and two women, were of Arab descent, and photos on Facebook show the two women wearing head scarves, leading to speculation on Twitter and Facebook, much of it with the hashtag#muslimlives matter, that the killings might have been a hate crime.

Campaign To Silence Rush Limbaugh

19 years ago an Episcopal Minister speaking in Cambridge MA said, "We've got to stop Rush Limbaugh." I didn't know who he was. The Minster was a vocal anti war activist so I wondered why he opposed Limbaugh's comments whatever they were. I began listening to Limbaugh and learned a lot I did not know. It didn't matter whether I agreed with him. He was speaking about issues that no one else did. I still wonder why anyone wants to censor speech. If Limbaugh is so wrong why not explain it in words rather than trying to censor him? Help ordinary citizens understand what the truth is. Another resident of Cambridge once began a conversation declaring that Glenn Back was terrible. I didn't know who he was either so I listened to him too. Sad that so many people have a misguided idea of what the First Amendment is all about. It is to protect speech that you hate. Everybody supports speech that they like. In ancient Athens there was no law or constitution that protected free speech. It was a 1200 year tradition.

Spineless Defense of Free Speech


Rush Limbaugh gives his perspective on spineless journalists. After David Checketts asked him to join a group to purchase the St. Louis Rams, Checketts refused to stand up and defend Rush Limbaugh's First Amendment Rights. That pattern is pervasive even in Cambridge MA host city of Harvard and MIT where politicians and university officials silence unpopular speech. The current editors of the Cambridge weekly newspaper show no spine and an inability to stand up for protected speech.
Academics with PhDs. and lawyers lead neighborhood associations in this elitist enclave. They deny access to citizens to participate in their forums adhering to conformist liberal Democratic policies. Leftist abuses of law are ignored by these same conformist spineless leaders. If the best and the brightest (Ahem!) are censoring protected legal speech and using character assassination to silence citizen speech, it is not surprising that US Congresswomen, football fans, players union officials, and sports writers do the same to a wealthy, wildly successful and politically connected broadcaster.
