the Homeland Security secretary said "the system worked" when a man boarded a Christmas Day flight from Amsterdam to Detroit with explosives in his underwear that he couldn't quite manage to ignite.
a Dutch filmmaker leapt on him, ripped a smoldering object from near his crotch and put it out with his bare hands. Or as Napolitano put it, "Everybody played an important role here."
At a cost of $30 billion since 2004, we've implemented security procedures ideally suited to harassing innocent passengers who only want to travel from Point A to Point B with minimal inconvenience. It's only the terrorists we have trouble handling.
The same Napolitano who initially portrayed the near-miss on Christmas as a vindication did her utmost to avoid even uttering the word "terror" at a congressional hearing earlier this year, preferring the absurd neologism "man-caused disaster."

Assisted Suicide
On Christmas Day, a Muslim fanatic attempted to butcher hundreds of Christians (dead Jews would've been a bonus). Our response? Have airport security analyze the contents of grandma's mini-bottle of shampoo -- we don't want to "discriminate."
With our lies, self-deception and self-flagellation, we're terror's little helpers.

Where Have the Bees Gone?
blood-sucking mites, viruses, new types of pesticides, malnutrition and stress caused by modern farming practices, as well as bacterial parasites, have all been implicated.
what caused the bees to become infected with so many pathogens has still not been scientifi cally proven.
despite largescale honeybee declines in the US and Europe, these have been more than offset by increases in Asia, Latin America and Africa which account for managed beehives worldwide increasing by about 45% in the past 50 years.

invidious descriptions of political opponents were bad for civic health and distracted us from the fact that "we are one people, all of us pledging allegiance to the Stars and Stripes, all of us defending the United States of America."
his communications staff spent the year demonizing Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Fox News. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer called opponents of their health proposals "un-American." Quality Leadership?
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), who'd already extracted $12 million in TARP funds for OneUnited, a minority-owned bank that is one of her key campaign donors and a company in which both Waters and her husband own massive amounts of stock.

But Bradley Edwards, the lawyer for three of the young women, isn't pulling punches, either. Edwards recently questioned Epstein's pilot, Larry Visocki, about passengers who may have witnessed Epstein and the women on his private jet -- including Bill Clinton, Ron Burkle, Britain's Prince Andrew and White House economic adviser Lawrence Summers. Edwards could subpoena all of them to testify.

Death Panels was a Benign Accusation
[HTML Link in original story]
"This piece in the NYT flies in the face of all those who accused us of fear-mongering when we dared call out Congress on the issue of so-called “death panels.” I, for one, was uncomfortable enough with the idea that a gaggle of self-appointed hens in Congress would assess my worthiness and determine whether sufficient resources should be allocated to keep me alive through some horrific medical event. If the Times is to be believed, it is MUCH worse - Hospital budget administrators (under constant attack from Government oversight and regulation to contain costs) will make our life and death decisions for us, and they’ll do so while competing for financial rewards from the Federal Government:"

Woman in Psychiatric Hospital for Personal Reasons
The pattern of abuse is not limited to Alabama. All states have laws written by legislators paid by the psychiatric industry lobbyists. There are several basic Constitutional Rights violated in these procedures. But if one is accused of mental illness, lawyers, journalists, politicians, police, judges and ordinary citizens believe it is OK to deny those rights to persons so accused. Though journalists and politicians would never think to deny such rights to persons of color, women and homosexuals, they encourage these violations every day to persons with disabilities. Most of the alleged advocates for persons with disabilities are actually working for the human services industry which benefits from these obscene laws.
"deputy sheriffs came to B.J. Hutter's home and put her [. . .] shackled and confined in a mental institution -- not because she was insane, but because of what Hutter said was sibling rivalry."
Hutter was quickly diagnosed as being sane, her release did not come as quickly as the diagnosis because necessary procedures had to be followed.
Hutter was confined for about a week in a mental institution until the courts could officially release her.
[. . .]
she later discovered she had to pay the tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills for her own involuntary and unnecessary commitment."
[. . .]
"it had taken only one person's signature to have her committed by falsely alleging that she had a severe mental illness.
And because her sister had stated she was "suicidal and homicidal," she was manacled"
[. . .]
"The commitment set Hutter back about $30,000 -- half of which she said Blue Cross Blue Shield covered"
[. . .]
"the Meadhaven staff. She said they quickly realized both that she was sane and what had led to the situation. Although sympathetic, she said they still had procedures they needed to follow."
[. . .]
"It's way too easy to commit someone in this county," he said. "There is very little standard. They can just come in and allege that (the person is) a threat to someone else and ... you're committed."

Obama's Health Care Death Panels
"the bill's magisterial proclamation that the Independent Medicare Advisory Board can only be abolished by a two-thirds vote of the Senate strikes at one of the most basic principles of a free society - that no parliament can bind its successors."
[. . .]
"My Republican friends often seem to miss the point in this debate: The so-called public option is not Page 3,079, Section (f), Clause VII. The entire bill is a public option - because that's where it leads, remorselessly. The so-called death panel is not on Page 2,721, Paragraph 19, Subsection (d), but again, the entire bill - because it inserts the power of the state between you and your doctor and in effect assumes jurisdiction over your body."

The entire bill is a public option - because that's where it leads, remorselessly. The so-called death panel is not on Page 2,721, Paragraph 19, Subsection (d), but again, the entire bill - because it inserts the power of the state between you and your doctor and in effect assumes jurisdiction over your body."

Contemporary Leadership
Contemporary Leadership
In Roger Morris' book Partners in Power, he suggests that the kind of people who get appointed and elected in the USA to positions of power are weak and morally flexible. This applies accurately to Barack Obama and to the current minority leader in the US Senate Mitch McConnell, but especially to Janet Napolitano. But also to corporate leaders, police governors, mayors, and others we used to look to for leadership and moral guidance.

President Obama has just placed our Constitutional rights under international law.

Lack of Congressional leadership
"We have the Senate Minority Whip, the Senate Minority Leader, and the ranking minority member on the Senate Finance Committee’s health care subcommittee all saying the GOP had no intention of obstructing the health care bill. And there was action to back it up. We know it was not just spin for the media.
After it’s over? We have Mitch McConnell saying the Senate GOP did everything in its power to stop the bill.
The facts show just the opposite."

US Senate Minority Rights
FOUNDATION FOR THE MINORITY PARTY’S RIGHTS IN THE
SENATE (Fall 2009)
The Senate rules are designed to give a minority of Senators the right to insist on a full, complete, and fully informed debate on all measures and issues coming before the Senate. This cornerstone of protection can only be abrogated if 60 or more Senators vote to take these rights away from the minority.
I. RIGHTS AVAILABLE TO MINORITY BEFORE MEASURES ARE
CONSIDERED ON FLOOR (These rights are normally waived by Unanimous Consent (UC)
when time is short, but any Senator can object to the waiver.)
New Legislative Day – An adjournment of the Senate, as opposed to a recess, is required to trigger a new legislative day. A new legislative day starts with the morning hour, a 2-hour period with a number of required procedures. During part of the ―morning hour‖ any Senator may make non-debatable motions to proceed to items on the Senate calendar.
One Day and Two Day Rules– The 1-day rule requires that measures must lie over one ―legislative day‖ before they can be considered. All bills have to lie over one day, whether they were introduced by an individual Senator (Rule XIV) or reported by a committee (Rule XVII). The 2-day rule requires that IF a committee chooses to file a written report, that committee report MUST contain a CBO cost estimate, a regulatory impact statement, and detail what changes the measure makes to current law (or provide a statement why any of these cannot be done), and that report must be available at least 2 calendar days before a bill can be considered on the Senate floor. Senators may block a measure’s consideration by raising a point of order if it does not meet one of these requirements.
“Hard” Quorum Calls –Senate operates on a presumptive quorum of 51 senators and quorum calls are routinely dispensed with by unanimous consent. If UC is not granted to dispose of a routine quorum call, then the roll must continue to be called. If a quorum is not present, the only motions the leadership may make are to adjourn, to recess under a previous order, or time-consuming motions to establish a quorum
that include requesting, requiring, and then arresting Senators to compel their presence in the Senate chamber.
II. RIGHTS AVAILABLE TO MINORITY DURING CONSIDERATION OF MEASURES IN SENATE (Many of these rights are regularly waived by Unanimous Consent.)
Motions to Proceed to Measures – with the exception of Conference Reports and Budget Resolutions, most such motions are fully debatable and 60 votes for cloture is needed to cut off extended debate.
Reading of Amendments and Conference Reports in Entirety – In most circumstances, the reading of the full text of amendments may only be dispensed with by unanimous consent. Any Senator may object to dispensing with the reading. If, as is often the case when the Senate begins consideration of a House-passed vehicle, the Majority Leader offers a full-text substitute amendment, the reading of that full-text substitute amendment can only be waived by unanimous consent. A member may only
request the reading of a conference report if it is not available in printed form (100 copies available in the Senate chamber).
Senate Points of Order – A Senator may make a point of order at any point he or she believes that a Senate procedure is being violated, with or without cause. After the presiding officer rules, any Senator who disagrees with such ruling may appeal the ruling of the chair—that appeal is fully debatable. Some points of order, such as those raised on Constitutional grounds, are not ruled on by the presiding officer and the question is put to the Senate, then the point of order itself is fully debatable. The Senate may dispose of a point of order or an appeal by tabling it; however, delay is created by the two roll call votes in connection with each tabling motion (motion to table and motion to reconsider that vote).
Budget Points of Order – Many legislative proposals (bills, amendments, and conference reports) are subject to a point of order under the Budget Act or budget resolution, most of which can only be waived by 60 votes. If budget points of order lie against a measure, any Senator may raise them, and a measure cannot be passed or disposed of unless the points of order that are raised are waived. (See http://budget.senate.gov/republican/pressarchive/PointsofOrder.pdf )
Amendment Process
Amendment Tree Process and/or Filibuster by Amendment – until cloture is invoked, Senators may offer an unlimited number of amendments -- germane or non-germane -- on any subject. This is the fullest expression of a ―full, complete, and informed‖ debate on a measure. It has been necessary under past Democrat majorities to use the rules governing the amendment process aggressively to ensure that minority Senators get votes on their amendment as originally written (unchanged by the Majority Democrats.)
Substitute Amendments – UC is routinely requested to treat substitute amendments as original text for purposes of further amendment, which makes it easier for the majority to offer 2nd degree amendments to gut 1st degree amendments by the minority. The minority could protect their amendments by objecting to such UC’s.
Divisible Amendments – amendments are divisible upon demand by any Senator if they contain two or more parts that can stand independently of one another. This can be used to fight efforts to block the minority from offering all of their amendments, because a single amendment could be drafted, offered at a point when such an amendment is in order, and then divided into multiple component parts for separate consideration and votes. Demanding division of amendments can also be used to extend consideration of a measure. Amendments to strike and insert text cannot be divided.
Motions to Recommit Bills to Committee With or Without Instructions – A Senator may make a motion to recommit a bill to the committee with or without instructions to the Committee to report it back to the Senate with certain changes or additions. Such instructions are amendable.
AFTER PASSAGE Going to Conference, Motions to Instruct Conferees, Matters Out of Scope of Conference
Going to Conference – The Senate must pass 3 separate motions to go to conference: (1) a motion to insist on its amendments or disagree with the House amendments; (2) a motion to request/agree to a conference; and (3) a motion to authorize the Chair to appoint conferees. The Senate routinely does this by UC, but if a Senator objects the Senate must debate each step and all 3 motions may be filibustered (requiring a cloture vote to end debate).
Motion to Instruct Conferees – Once the Senate adopts the first two motions, Senators may offer an unlimited number of motions to instruct the Senate’s conferees. The motions to instruct are amendable – and divisible upon demand -- by Senators if they contain more than one separate and distinct instruction.
Conference Reports, Out of Scope Motions – In addition to demanding a copy of the conference report to be on every Senator’s desk and raising Budget points of order against it, Senators may also raise a point of order that it contains matter not related to the matters originally submitted to the conference by either chamber. If the Chair sustains the point or order, the provision(s) is stricken from the conference agreement, and the House would then have to approve the measure absent the stricken provision (even if the House had already acted on the conference report). The scope point of order can be waived by 60 Senators.
Availability of Conference Report Language. The conference report must be publicly available on a website 48 hours in advance prior to the vote on passage.

Norway Boycotts Israeli Goods
On the heels of Mr. Roed-Larsen's now infamous remark that Israel "ceded all "moral ground" in Jenin, comes word from his home country of Norway that some supermarket chains have decided to place special identification stickers on products from Israel.
Other Scandinavian countries may follow suit.
The Norwegians say the stickers do not constitute a "boycott" of Israel; they just want their customers, who are overwhelmingly pro Palestinian, to pay attention to where these products are produced.
Maybe the rest of us should run down to our local supermarkets with a pad of yellow "post-it" notes so that consumers of Norwegian salmon or Jarlsberg cheese can also pay attention to where those are produced. Stick them on the packages with a note: these products come from a place with a shameful past that continues to operate as a European free zone for Neo-Nazis and other right wing extremists.
Those asking the question of whether Europeans are anti-Israel because of Israel's actions in fighting terror, or because of their own latent anti-Semitism, should study the example of Norway. Behind the current disclaimer of a boycott you will find that Norwegians are quite experienced at boycotting Israel.
Norwegian labour unions have recently refused to off-load Israeli farm produce..
Last year, a Norwegian "labor youth movement" organized a demonstration against Israeli singers from the Eurovision song contest.
Another Norwegian group has been boycotting Israeli oranges since the early 90s.
This group, "Boikott Israel l," rejuvenated by the latest "Intifada" to Include a boycott of all Israeli commerce, denies on its website that it is anti-Semitic but states its goal is the end Israel's "50 year occupation" of, and the return of refugees to a "free Palestine."
Not anti-Semitic? In 1941, the graffiti on Jewish businesses in Oslo read: "Jews, go to Palestine."
To campaign now in Norway to get the Jews out of "Palestine" seems anti-Semitic to me, if only by process of elimination. Indeed, the roots of Norwegian boycotts of Israel run deep. Anti-Semitism has held a unique place in Norwegian politics since the 1930s when Vidkun Quisling, later the leader of a Nazi puppet government in Norway, formed the National Union Party.
While many Norwegians fought with the Resistance, many became eager collaborators of the Nazis, including some 60,000 members of the National Union. Under its auspices, Norway formed its own branch of the SS and established academies sending hundreds of officers to set up the rings of like-minded groups from Sweden and with little fear of official interference.
More significantly, according to a report published by the Stephen Roth Institute of Tel Aviv University, the extreme right wing Progress Party is the second largest party in Norway with 25 out of 160 seats in the Parliament. Among other racist and anti-immigration views, this party advocates banning male circumcision.
Schechita, kosher stickers on Israeli goods are the modern-day equivalent of painting "Joden" on the Jewish-owned businesses of Oslo and Trondheim in 1941.
We needn't be reminded that after that, all of Norway's remaining Jews were deported to Auschwitz. Fewer than 30 (THIRTY!) survived the Holocaust.

ELECTROSHOCK IS HARMFUL AND DANGEROUS
This is a reminder that comments are due to the FDA on the safety of electroshock machines by January 8, 2009.
The FDA Wants to Declare Electroshock Machines Safe Without a Safety Investigation. TELL THEM NO!
The Food and Drug Administration is in charge of regulating medical devices just as it does drugs, including the machines used to give Electroshock. But it's not doing its job. It has allowed these machines to be used on millions of patients over the past generation without requiring any evidence whatsoever that shock treatment is safe or effective! This is so even though shock machines are Class III---high risk---devices, which by law are supposed to be investigated by clinical trials as thoroughly as new drugs and devices just coming onto the market. But because of intense lobbying by the American Psychiatric Association---which claims the devices are safe but opposes an investigation---the FDA has disregarded its own law. (For the full story of how shock survivors have fought for a scientific safety investigation of Electroshock for the past 25 years, see Linda Andre's terrific new book, Doctors of Deception: What They Don't Want You to Know About Shock Treatment.)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0813544416/lawprojectfor-20
In April 2009---20 years after it first ruled the devices high-risk and named brain damage and memory loss as risks of the treatment---the FDA belatedly announced it would call on the manufacturers of the devices to provide evidence of safety and efficacy. The deadline for submissions has passed, but the manufacturers have not conducted any clinical trials, claiming they cannot afford them. They simply point to the opinions of shock doctors (including those who have financial interests in companies making Electroshock machines) as evidence that shock is safe.
The FDA is now supposed to require Electroshock machines to undergo the rigorous PreMarket Approval process (PMA) that is required of new devices, including clinical safety trials. These machines, technically known as "devices," are referred to as Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT), but I don't like to use this euphemistic term for running electricity through people's brains. The FDA could have called for this investigation any time in the past 30 years but has previously failed to do so. There is great risk the FDA will downclassify it to the low-risk Class II, without scientific evidence of its safety. As a Class II device, Electroshock machines would never have to go through the PMA process. The amount of damage that electroshock has been allowed to inflict is an outrage. We now finally have a chance to at least register our opposition because the FDA has opened up a new docket for public comment on electroshock machines. It is important for as many people as possible to write in with their opposition. Comments will be accepted up to January 8, 2010.
If you have personal knowledge or expertise about Electroshock, writing about that can be good. Or you can pull information from various sources. For more information a Briefing Sheet is available and Linda Andre's book, Doctors of Deception is a gold mine of information. In addition Leonard Roy Frank published the free, downloadable Electroshock Quotationary, in June 2006, which is a good source of material, and there is also a brand new web page of historical materials from Leonard at http://psychiatrized.org/LeonardRoyFrank/FromTheFilesOfLeonardRoyFrank.htm Also, PsychRights has quite a large collection of materials at http://psychrights.org/Research/Digest/Electroshock/electroshock.htm from which comments can be drawn.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN XMAS AND CHANUKkAH
Now, if anyone asks you what the difference is between Christmas and Chanukkah you will know what and how to answer!
1 Christmas is one day, same day every year, December 25.. Jews also love December 25th. It's another paid day off work. We go to movies and out for Chinese food and Israeli dancing. Chanukkah is 8 days. It starts the evening of the 24th of Kislev, whenever that falls. No one is ever sure. Jews never know until a non-Jewish friend asks when Chanukkah starts*, forcing us to consult a calendar so we don't look like idiots. We all have the same calendar, provided free with a donation from the World Jewish Congress, the kosher butcher, or the local Sinai Memorial Chapel (especially in Florida ) or other Jewish funeral home.
2. Christmas is a major holiday. Chanukkah is a minor holiday with the same theme as most Jewish holidays. They tried to kill us, we survived, let's eat.
3. Christians get wonderful presents such as jewelry, perfume, stereos... Jews get practical presents such as underwear, socks, or the collected works of the Rambam, which looks impressive on the bookshelf.
4. There is only one way to spell Christmas. No one can decide how to spell Chanukah, Chanukkah, Chanukka, Channukah, Hanukah, Hannukah, etc.
5. Christmas is a time of great pressure for husbands and boyfriends. Their partners expect special gifts.. Jewish men are relieved of that burden. No one expects a diamond ring on Chanukkah.
6. Christmas brings enormous electric bills. Candles are used for Chanukkah. Not only are we spared enormous electric bills, but we get to feel good about not contributing to the energy crisis.
7. Christmas carols are beautiful...Silent Night, Come All Ye Faithful.... Chanukkah songs are about dreidels made from clay or having a party and dancing the hora. Of course, we are secretly pleased that many of the beautiful carols were composed and written by our tribal brethren. And don't Barbara Streisand and Neil Diamond sing them beautifully?
8. A home preparing for Christmas smells wonderful. The sweet smell of cookies and cakes baking. Happy people are gathered around in festive moods. A home preparing for Chanukkah smells of oil, potatoes, and onions. The home, as always, is full of loud people all talking at once.
9. Christian women have fun baking Christmas cookies. Jewish women burn their eyes and cut their hands grating potatoes and onions for latkas on Chanukkah. Another reminder of our suffering through the ages.
10. Parents deliver to their children during Christmas. Jewish parents have no qualms about withholding a gift on any of the eight nights.
11. The players in the Christmas story have easy to pronounce names such as Mary, Joseph, and Jesus. The players in the Chanukkah story are Antiochus , Judah Maccabee, and Matta whatever. No one can spell it or pronounce it. On the plus side, we can tell our friends anything and they believe we are wonderfully versed in our history.
12. Many Christians believe in the virgin birth. Jews think, "Yossela, Bubela, snap out of it. Your woman is pregnant, you didn't sleep with her, and now you want to blame G-d? Here's the number of my shrink".
13. In recent years, Christmas has become more and more commercialized. The same holds true for Chanukkah, even though it is a minor holiday. It makes sense. How could we market a major holiday such as Yom Kippur? Forget about celebrating. Think observing. Come to synagogue, starve yourself for 27 hours, become one with your dehydrated soul, beat your chest, confess your sins, a guaranteed good time for you and your family. Tickets a mere $200 per person. Better stick with Chanukkah!

Humble Silver Spoon Origins?
[The New York Post published an edited version of this letter on Sunday December 27, 2009.]
***Here is the original followed by what the Post published.***
Callahan says, "Woods, especially, has a lot in common with Obama: a mixed-race child of humble origins [. . .] first minority to break through a historically white institution." (MAUREEN CALLAHAN, "Can we forgive Tiger?" New York Post, December 20, 2009) Obama's father the Finance Minister of Kenya was brought to Harvard by US Senator Ted Kennedy. How was Barack a child of humble origins attending exclusive private schools and elite Ivy League Universities? Woods father was a US Army Lt. Colonel with all of the benefits. Was his skin color considered humble? What do journalists call foster children, orphans, and others who are really deprived?Still idealizing Obama and Woods?

How was it that President Obama, a child of humble origins, attended exclusive private schools and elite Ivy League universities?
Tiger Woods’ father was a US Army lieutenant colonel with all of the benefits. Was his skin color considered humble?
What do journalists call foster children, orphans and others who are really deprived?

Liberals Project Hate Onto Their Critics.
"Obama must have been light beige through much of the summer of 2008 (when he held a slight point lead over McCain), then become a bit browner after the Republican convention (when McCain led by a bit), then lightened again at the financial meltdown in mid-September, and become moon-like in his paleness by Election Day, when he carved out a seven-point win. From then, he must have turned pearl-white by his Inauguration, at which point he was approved of even by people who voted against him and basked in favorable ratings of nearly 70 percent. Then, in late spring, he once more grew darker, a trend that continues."

Obama's Whopper Deception on Health Care
Obama said, "This bill with strengthen Medicare and extend the life of the program. Because it’s paid for and gets rid of waste and inefficiency in our health care system this will be the largest deficit reduction plan in over a decade. In fact, we just learned from the Congressional Budget Office that this bill will reduce our deficit by $132 billion over the first decade of the program, and more than one trillion dollars in the decade after that."
Well, we now know that whether it was an innocent mistake or fiscal prestidigtation, one of these claims is simply not true. Which is all the more reason you don't railroad an unpopular bill through in the middle of the night, as this episode proves conclusively that the Senate can't be trusted not to make mistakes involving literally hundreds of billions of dollars."

Obama: The End Justifies the Means
"Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) first asked the CBO to evaluate the accounting practices used in the health-care bill. He said of the Medicare math: 'If a private company had done this, a president of a private company had proposed such a bogus scoring system, they'd be going to jail.'"
[. . .]
"The officials, all Republicans, said that since the federal government is picking up the full tab for an expansion of Medicaid in Nebraska, it will have to do the same for other states."

Obama Is What He Condemned
"Yet there was Obama, who promised to change the culture of Washington, heralding the sleazy outcome. How fitting that the end of his first year also marks the end of any pretense he is a reformer.
He is now the very opposite of what he promised."
[. . .]
"Obama's endorsement covers the $100 million deal to pay the full cost of Medicaid expansion in Nebraska, getting $100 million for a hospital in Connecticut, exempting seniors in Florida from benefit cuts, and replacing a 5 percent tax on elective cosmetic-surgery procedures with a 10 percent tax on indoor tanning."
[. . .]
So it is in America at Christmas, circa 2009. Back to the drawing board we go, still searching for honest government.

Deceptive Man of The Year
"Mr. Bernanke, is someone rigging the stock market?"
[. . .]
"There were simply too many days when exuberant buying in the opening minutes of trading in New York would reverse a down market that was being inherited from earlier trading in Asia or Europe.
Add to that the President's Working Group on Financial Markets, lovingly known around Wall Street as the "Plunge Protection Team," and the fact that Paulson regularly referred to meetings that the group had, though the Treasury would never -- or could never -- produce the minutes of those meetings."
Goldman factor haunts Bernanke's testimony

FBI Shows More Negligence and Incompetence
FBI officials continue to fail to protect American Citizens. They abuse citizens and permit spies to exploit their own negligence. A creature of statute is a barrier to enjoying Constitutional Rights.

Obama Thwarts Intent of Constitution
"the fundamental framework governing the relationship between the citizens and the government [. . .] has survived longer than any other written constitution in the world; it has survived a wrenching war between signatories; it has survived assassinations of presidents, the corruption of legislators and the voting of a largely uninformed public. To put this in perspective, in the 212 years of the American Constitution, the enlightened French have blazed through eight different constitutions."
[. . .]
"for the first time ever, citizens will be forced under the threat of prison to purchase a good, whether they want it or not"
[. . .]
"Now that police power of the state can be used to force citizens to pay for health care, how long will it be before those same powers are used to force citizens to pay for food that is provided at the direction of the government, to pay for clothing provided at the design of the government, to pay for transportation or leisure activities provided or approved by the government?"

PROPOSED 28th Amendment
Thomas Jefferson: "When the people fear their government there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."
Patrick Henry: (1736-1799) "The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people; it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government, lest it come to dominate our lives and interests."
Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907. "In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American and nothing but an American...there can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
- - - - -
Amendment 28 should read
Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States.
THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!!!!!
A friend sent this along to me. My friend wants to promote a "Congressional Reform Act of 2009". It would contain eight provisions.
Congress has the lowest approval of any entity in Government, now is the time when Americans SHOULD join together to reform Congress - the entity that represents us.
A Senator MUST introduce this bill in the US Senate and a Representative MUST introduce a similar bill in the US House. These people will become American heroes.

Clueless Cambridge Residents, Officials
"Len Thomas, director of the Cambridge Multi-Service Center,[. . .] argued that a main reason that Central Square residents and visitors feel uncomfortable around the homeless is that they do not know them, and invited members of the public to introduce themselves to homeless individuals in order 'to learn that these are real people.'”
How rational is that? In Cambridge where upper class PhD.s prance about knowing that they are superior to any person without a PhD., I can just see them having a chat with the homeless to see that they are human. But people with a BA are not? Hello! What a lack of awareness this shows about Cambridge.
"Superintendent Steven Williams of the Cambridge Police Department [said of] the Homeless Outreach Program, 'We’ve been able to [. . .] get them the help that they normally would not have sought out.'” What they need is a home. But police provide help they do not seek. Could that be psychiatric drugs to make them violent?

Health Care Bill Likely Unconstitutional
US Senator Jim Demint (R-SC) raised issue of changing Senate rules making it impossible to amend or to repeal legislation or any part thereof of the Health care bill. The Senate Majority Leader "Dingy" Harry Reid said it was not a rules change but a change of procedure. Huh? Newspeak is the official language of the Senate in 2009 just as in the White House. If the US Constitution can be amended and sections can be repealed (Hello prohibition) the Democratic controlled senate wants to deny that ability with their health care bill.
"Reid has slipped in a provision into the health care legislation prohibiting future Congresses from changing any regulations imposed on Americans by the Independent Medicare [note: originally referred to as "medical"] Advisory Boards, which are commonly called the “Death Panels.”
[. . .]
"When confronted with the facts, the Senate Democrats ran for cover. The Senate Democrats are ignoring the constitution, the law, and their own rules to pass Obamacare."

Elder Abuse Ignored by Taxpayer Funded Officials
It is shameful how politicians and journalists focus only on wealthy and politically connected vulnerable groups -- Black Americans, Women and homosexuals. They ignore abuse of elders and persons with disabilities. Taxpayer funded agencies refuse to investigate when police sociopaths are the abusers. Medical researchers are permitted to torment and test their drugs and devices on elders and persons with disabilities with no concern from taxpayer funded lawyers. State agencies refuse to train employees to obey state and US laws which are supposed to protect elders and persons with disabilities. Courts are no different being run by lawyers for lawyers. They all openly discriminate based on age and disability with nowhere to get relief from unlawful actions of public officials.

Unwarranted Defense of Corruption of Science
Some of the emails are reported to be from two months before they were made public. As for the Big Lie technique some professions created billion dollar industries using public relations promotions in major media over many years. Psychiatry is one of them.
Lyons omits evidence that some scientific studies are signed by academic specialists who have no contact with the research beyond being paid for their signature. It allows the study to be published in peer review journals and accepted by professionals as factual.
This happens when academics are offered substantial funds to give their approval of drug company studies. Academics will write articles for a fee as well. When scientists prostitute their name for money and do not lose their careers as Lyons suggests, where does that leave science?
One Harvard psychiatrist appeared on Public Radio for years promoting psychiatric drugs and did not reveal that he was paid substantial funds by drug companies.

One Dead After Police Deny Rights to PWD
New York Police did not act when first called about a dispute between two men who use wheelchairs. Was this due to unlawful discrimination based on disability, on their housing status, or both? It may be one more example of how police regularly deny to persons with disabilities their First Amendment Right to access to government services, i.e., police protection. This violates both state and US laws.

Competency, Disability, Homosexuality
This article raises several questions about law, competency to stand trial and homosexuality. Would the court be as lenient if the matter was heterosexual sexual abuse? Each state has different standards for competency. In some it is only knowing what a lawyer is, what a court is, and what a judge is. Competency has a very low bar. It is however a very lucrative business for psychiatrists and psychologists. Competency is a matter for the trier of fact in this case the judges, who are reluctant to leave themselves open to mistakes. They prefer to leave it to the taxpayer funded "experts" who have a financial interest. Their standards are arbitrary. It never ceases to amaze me why courts allow psychiatrists to predict the future. But they do. How many highly educated and highly intelligent people know how a court works? How many lawyers know? Not all lawyers go to court.

College Towns, Best of List
According to this list Cambridge MA is not the smartest town, even as host city to Harvard and MIT. Measuring smartness based upon degrees is unreliable and stupid. Many of the best and brightest intellectual academics have no common sense. They may be highly competitive which does not contribute to the quality of life, but they often make counter productive decisions and statements. Observe the "intellectual" Harvard Law School grad in the White House. He makes speeches and has no clue what else to do. He thinks he is still on campus. There are many PhDs in Cambridge who are like him. They think their pencil pointed specialty extends to all other areas of human activity and endeavor.

Career Politician Criminals Thrive
A little perspective here. One Thomas Finneran, former Speaker of the MA House of Representatives and member of the Mass Bar Association pleaded guilty to a felony. He broadcasts weekday mornings on a 50,000 watt AM radio station in Boston. Buddy Cianci a former Mayor of Providence is on radio too. Why do these convicts get high paying jobs, while others with lesser convictions or no convictions at all (CORI records arrests not convictions) cannot get a job? Why does radio talk show host Eagan ignore those facts?

Too Much Racism, No Disability Bias
Tufts investigated TV perpetuating racial bias. Does that mean that TV treats persons with disabilities as equal to those without? That persons accused of mental illness are treated better than black persons? Just asking here. Wondering why so much time studying racism and so little studying discrimination against persons with disabilities. One man of color told me that it is because "they are whole persons" implying that persons with disabilities are only part human?

Enemy Combatants Enjoy Rights Denied to Persons with Disabilities
The President of the US, the agent of hope and change, with his partner US Attorney General Eric Holder demand that enemy combatants enjoy US Constitutional rights. Concurrently lawyers, judges and courts deny to persons with disabilities the right to have children.
While the New York Times vigorously supports the rights of persons of color, homosexuals, illegal aliens, enemy combatants and women, the editors ignore an overt action by courts in violation of US and state laws banning disability based discrimination. Is it New York Times policy to deny to persons with disabilities Equal Protection Rights?
According to this report only with approval of a psychiatrist (and not always then) can a person have a child if they are perceived to have a disability. Yet the alleged often taxpayer funded disability rights organizations and the ACLU support this administration. Makes you wonder what the standards, focus and priorities are for these organizations. NAMI is known to be a front organization for the drug companies so they are not expected to support any Constitutional Rights.
Even in this report the idea of an actual illness is not alleged, only symptoms, which is what psychiatrists treat--speecha nd behavior that they do not like or they do not understand. Can we say that psychiaysts are the Conformist Party police?
[From the article]
"Ms. Baker had obtained a court order to retrieve them after learning that Ms. Kehoe was being treated for mental illness.
'I couldn't see living the rest of my life worrying and wondering what had happened, or what if she hadn't taken her medicine, or what if she relapsed,' said Ms. Baker."
[. . .]
"On Tuesday, July 28, the babies were born by Caesarean section. The following Monday, in court in Ann Arbor, Ms. Baker said she first learned of Ms. Kehoe’s psychiatric history.
During a hearing to transfer guardianship to the Kehoes, Scott Kehoe said his wife had paranoid schizophrenia. Ms. Kehoe’s psychiatrist listed the diagnosis as a “psychotic disorder not otherwise specified.” Ms. Kehoe takes an antipsychotic to control her symptoms.
Before her diagnosis in 2001, Ms. Kehoe told the judge, she had self-medicated, and that was the reason for her arrest on charges of cocaine use and driving under the influence.
Adoption experts said that mental illness was not a bar to adoption if the illness was under control and the patient went to doctor’s appointments and took medications. And Ms. Kehoe’s psychiatrist wrote a letter saying she would be a good mother because her disease had been fully controlled for eight years and she currently had no symptoms.
Ms. Baker, however, said she was stunned at the disclosure of Ms. Kehoe’s mental illness, which she believes she should have known in advance. And she became concerned that Ms. Kehoe might relapse and be unable to take care of the twins.
“I’m not going to be the one that’s going to feel guilty if something happens,” Ms. Baker said.
Ms. Kehoe said Ms. Baker’s decision made no sense in light of her doctor’s statement and other letters of strong support. “Does she really think she knows better than a psychiatrist who has known me for nine years?” Ms. Kehoe said.
Instead, she says, Ms. Baker “legally stole our babies from us.”
Because Michigan law states that surrogacy contracts are void and unenforceable, it was an easy matter for Ms. Baker to go to court and have the Kehoes’ guardianship rescinded."

Faulty Government Statistics
Everyone wants the economy to grow. And we all want to see people happy again, shopping their brains out and humming "Santa Claus is Coming to Town."
So spend! spend! spend! -- if it'll make you happy. It's good for the economy and the patriotic thing to do.
But what isn't so good is self-deception. Failing to look behind the numbers is what got us into this economic mess. Why do we continue to allow Wall Street experts to interpret things for us?

Rushing to Worse Health Care
"Congress is going to force everyone to get insurance,"
[. . .]
"The Congressional Budget Office estimates that individual insurance premiums would be 10 to 13 percent higher under the Senate bill than in the absence of reform."
[. . .]
"To address the public's affordability concerns, the Senate would lavish billions in subsidies on people with incomes up to four times the poverty level, or $88,000 for a family of four. Senate leaders hope these subsidies will keep people from noticing that the reform package has increased the cost of their insurance."
Medicaid typically pays physicians and hospitals less than it costs them to administer treatment. They compensate by charging privately insured patients more.

"Zimbabwe dictator Robert Mugabe turned the UN climate-change summit in Copenhagen into a farce yesterday, laughing off the travel sanctions of Western governments and throwing the harsh disapproval of his Danish hosts back in their faces."
[. . .]
"Mugabe is banned by the European Union from traveling to member states, including Denmark, as part of sanctions intended to pressure him to into allowing political reforms and improving the African nation's awful human-rights record."
[. . .]
"At the center of the summit tension is an alliance of China, India, Brazil and South Africa, which are demanding that richer nations cut emissions and pay poorer countries to slow climate change."

Psychiatrists demand that children draw pictures of psychiatrists as godlike. They do not believe man has any spiritual element. The solution is to send all new born babies for psychological evaluations as soon as they are born. If they cry too much they can begin a regimen taking drugs to quiet them. This would serve as an early screening process to separate the problem people from the conformists.

Mexican Officials Courageous Unlike Americans
Mexican officials working under their brave President show more courage than American police who focus on low level street dealers. Drug corruption is as pervasive in the US but there is no priority here to eliminate high level importers and money launderers. Without active cooperation from high level law enforcement agencies the drugs could never enter the country in the humongous amounts they do now. Local, state and US public officials have a go along to get along attitude. They are more interested in getting home safely and spending their pensions than eliminating major criminal empires. Harvard Law School's White House promoter of hope and change ignores government corruption. Obama appointed many admitted criminal rogues to high level positions in his administration. His AG refuses to prosecute allies. The public is marginally interested in this as an issue. It is easier to give money to the politicians than to fight for freedom.

5 Armed Robberies in Cambridge MA in 9 Days
One of the robberies was at 3:50 PM in Central Square one of the busiest intersections of the city. If streets are not safe during daylight hours the city is not safe at all. This is the host city for three universities, Harvard, MIT and Lesley, plus Cambridge College.

Farone fails to note that public water supplies remain polluted by prescription drugs for which municipalities do not test. Bottled water is no guarantee of purity. Only distilled water is pure water.

Critics Are Cynics?
Deval Patrick is a Harvard creation - all image. He is technically a Harvard corporate lawyer, with no managerial experience just like his buddy Obama. Harvard acts in its own interest then complains about criticism as coming from cynics. Cadillac Deval calls it the sea of cynicism in the state. Then he goes out and hires campaign contributing hacks during a budget crisis. Magic bullet believers want to vote out all incumbents ignore their staff who will remain and control what the new elected criminals will do. It is not just the elected officials but their staff that needs to go.

Universities Omit Disability from Diversity
"the number of female faculty members at Harvard has grown by 16 percent, while the number of minority faculty members has risen 23 percent, according to a recent report." Are persons with disabilities a minority? Or are they simply a bunch of uneducated slugs? Did Tufts University raise the number of Professors and administrators with disabilities? Does Harvard consider persons with disabilities anything other than an opportunity to treat them with psychiatric drugs? Has any university besides Galludet thought of persons with disabilities other than as clients for goods and services?

Cambridge and Global Warming
"the Cambridge City Council officially recognized climate change as an 'emergency.'” Ten years ago the City Council declared a housing emergency then proceeded to sell city owned land to private developers.
The City Council consistently uses words as Humpty Dumpty does in Alice in Wonderland. Words in Cambridge City Hall mean whatever the politicians want them to mean. "Recommendations included eliminating all street parking by 2020." It will be easier and more beneficial to eliminate all sidewalks. No sidewalks would end all injuries to pedestrians and car-pedestrian accidents. No sidewalks would provide room for more parking and wider streets to enable faster movement of cars and bicycles with no fear of alarming pedestrians. One ordinance should prohibit humans from being outside of a building unless he or she is in or on a vehicle. No sidewalks? No problems. The Emergency Climate Change Committee joins the Disciples of Monsignor Gore having it backwards. Cars rule! As for eliminating global warming, politicians and their academic cheerleaders should stop talking for a few years to allow the planet to cool down. Until then wind turbines should be installed at the Council Chambers, the Kennedy School and the five Boston area Law Schools, and the State House. All that hot wind energy will generate humongous kilowatt hours.

Cutting In Line Causes Murder
"on their way home to Jersey from a Queens nightclub when they stopped at the popular stand to get a falafel platter.
They sidled up next to Tayeh in the middle of the long line, he confronted them, and they denied cutting in, Deodat said.
Words were exchanged, and later, after the trio's car cut off Tayeh's SUV, all four got out and Tyrone grabbed Tayeh's hat and punched him, Deodat said.
Tayeh responded by drawing a knife and lunging at Tyrone."
