Is Colorado Following NJ Down The Marijuana Tubes?

[From article]
The state of Colorado seems to be going to pot — literally.
John Denver used to sing about a Colorado Rocky Mountain high, but he almost certainly never imagined that someday that theme would apply to America’s innocent school kids.
In a Colorado State House committee meeting on Monday, patient advocates will be pushing for the use of medical marijuana, in the form of edible pot, in their state’s public schools. In the Centennial State, this decision is left to individual school districts — and no school district currently allows it.
So advocates will be pushing hard to make Colorado join New Jersey — the Garden State — as the second state in the country to allow medical marijuana in schools.
Colorado had recreational and medical marijuana sales of $996 million in 2015, according to The Cannabist. The state also collected more than $135 million in taxes and fees, and ironically, more than $35 million is earmarked for school construction projects.
There are several obvious problems with medical marijuana on school grounds — for one, making sure that the patient is the only person who has access to the drug. Secondly, having a school nurse administer medical edible pot when that same school employee is responsible by law for reporting any usage of that same substance is nonsensical. Confusion and opaqueness reign in this debate.
The fight against marijuana in schools is not without concern for any and all students dealing with medical issues, but about the safety and well-being of all students. "School boards do not lack compassion for students that benefit from medical marijuana," Jane Urschel, a member of the Colorado Association of School Boards, told the Associated Press. "How do you begin to deal with those difficulties in different venues?"
The federal government, anxious to involve itself in progressive issues like LGBT rights in public schools, backs off when it comes to marijuana in or near schools, pushing it back on individual states.
[. . .]
"Poor old Colorado; if their schools allow edible marijuana on school grounds, they are simply out of their gourds," said Carla Lowe, the founder of CALM, Citizens Against Legalizing Marijuana.
Lowe has been fighting legalized pot in her home state of California and the rest of the U.S. for 40 years. "'If we could just get it accepted as a medicine’ has long been the plea — but that has always been a red herring," said Lowe. "The potency of the drug has been increasing right alongside the movement to legalize it."
Lowe is concerned with the uptick of THC in the product, as well as its long-term effects.
"The problem is that cannabis is a complex drug," she told LifeZette. "There are over 400 chemicals in it. THC, the psychoactive chemical in marijuana, is fat-soluble, so it leaves the bloodstream very quickly. But it then circulates the body until it finds a fatty organ, where it begins to very slowly break down. The brain and the sex organs are the fattiest organs, so they are natural repositories for THC. It takes 25 years for the human brain to be fully developed. Kids are smoking pot, and it's affecting their developing brains."
Lowe says the rise in potency is startling. When she began fighting legalizing pot in California years ago, the level of THC in the product was about one-half to one percent. Now, she says, the potency of street pot in California is 18 to 24 percent THC.
LifeZette asked Lowe to weigh in on another pot issue some states are facing — the proximity of pot shops to public schools.
More than two dozen schools in Denver are now closer than 1,000 feet to shops selling medical or recreational marijuana, as the Denver Post has reported.
[. . .]
A Denver parent who requested anonymity told LifeZette, "Colorado is headed down the tubes, as far as I’m concerned. Our state and its schools seem more concerned with these new businesses — and the tax dollars they bring — feeling comfortable in our state than it does with our kids’ futures. And the mood is, ‘It’s not harmful; it’s just pot.’"
Said Lowe of the country’s acceptance of pot, "We are looking at a diminished generation, a diminished future, and a diminished America."

Maryland Public School Students "Forced" to Convert to Islam

[From article]
The Thomas More Law Center, which is a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, has filed (1/27/16) a federal lawsuit on behalf of former Marine, John Kevin Wood, and his wife, Melissa, who refused to allow their teenage daughter to be subjected to Islamic “indoctrination and propaganda” in her high school World History class. The lawsuit was filed against the Charles County Public Schools, the Board of Education, and the Principal and Vice-Principal of La Plata High School located in La Plata, Maryland.
The Woods’ daughter was forced to profess and to write out the Shahada in worksheets and quizzes. The Shahada is the Islamic Creed, “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.” For non-Muslims, reciting the statement is sufficient to convert one to Islam. Moreover, the second part of the statement, “Muhammad is the messenger of Allah,” signifies the person has accepted Muhammad as their spiritual leader. The teenager was also required to memorize and recite the Five Pillars of Islam.
[. . .]
But the real problem in high school education is the presumption that students should be educated (indoctrinated?) by being given the Board of Education version of the most accurate distilled truth -- that students can’t handle controversy. How about being given the pros and cons of claims made about culture and history. Fine. Present the claim that Islam is the religion of peace. But then give the arguments pro and con. The idea that a fair-minded committee should feed the students the final distilled version of the truth is a recipe for indoctrination, not education.

Volunteers Recruited To Expose Propaganda in School Textbooks

[From article]
The next generation of Americans is being indoctrinated by Islamic supremacists who are in positions of power and influence over school curricula. They are stealing our children’s minds and setting the United States up to sink even further into a morass of ignorance.
[. . .]

It appears that 1500 errors have been found by textbook reviewers so far and of those, over 60% of the material was either removed or changed. Ultimately, 50 concerned citizens impacted the education of 5 million children, helping to ensure they received “more factually correct and less politically biased textbooks for the next 10 years.” Examples of errors include:
McGraw Hill World History textbook, 2014 edition: “In the conquered territories of Asia and North Africa there were peaceful interactions among Muslim, Christian, and Jewish societies.”
Houghton Mifflin World History textbook, 2014 edition: “Sharia law requires Muslim leaders to extend religious tolerance to Christians and Jews.”

Common Core Student Testing Saleswoman Admits The Tests Are Anti American

[From article]
Kim Koerber, a former Pearson executive who now works as a sales consultant for National Geographic – another Gates Foundation-funded Common Core publisher – tells the Project Veritas undercover journalist that “conservative voters are afraid of everything,” and proceeds to say why Common Core is important in her view.
She explains that those behind Common Core and the new AP U.S. History framework have attempted to minimize the Constitution and remove Christianity from the core concepts, while they also stress the importance of teaching about Islam:
“The dead white guys did not create this country,” Koerber says. “They [presumably conservatives] want to talk about those dead white guys.”
Koerber continues that Common Core is necessary because “it needs to be come cohesion between the states.” She expresses frustration, however, that “Texas keeps screwing it up over and over again.”
“People who say they want to teach the Constitution, only want to teach the part of the Constitution that they like,” she tells the journalist, who then asks her about the Second Amendment.
“But yet they don’t want to teach all of it,” she replies. “Damn the Second Amendment.”
[. . .]
The Project Veritas journalist asks Koerber about the profits for textbook publishers with the Common Core reform.
KK: Anytime anybody changes something in a textbook its profitable for the textbook companies. So the textbooks have to change and the school district has to adopt the new ones, that’s profitable.

US Education Bureaucracy Intentionally Dumbs Down Students

[From article]
Perhaps you are an eternal optimist, hoping the Education Establishment will reform itself. I have bad news: the top people in education like what they're doing just fine.
[. . .]
G. Stanley Hall [, John] Dewey's mentor said: "Reading should no longer be a fetish. Little attention should be paid to reading."
[. . .]
Professor Hall would be proud of our dumbed down K-12 schools. So please don't expect the Education Establishment to fix things. It's up to you.
[. . .]
The Education Establishment has a largely hidden ideological agenda intended to transform every aspect of the school. Their first concern is not academics or learning, no matter what they say. The real emphasis is on creating cooperative children. In this way, children become accustomed to being on the same level, as socialism requires. Additionally, cooperative children are docile, controllable children. Let's be realistic: our ideologues will not be able to create their brave new world if students learn to think for themselves. For concerned citizens, the first order of business is resisting this political agenda whenever possible.
[. . .]
the Education Establishment doesn't leave much to chance. They have created an interlocking array of bureaucracies, unions, foundations, think-tanks, political parties, publishers, media, and agents of influence. So you can expect a continuous bombardment of wrong-headed answers. Everybody needs to dig in his heels. Stay focused on some simple points: if these people were sincerely trying to improve education, would we have 40 million functional illiterates? Would our schools be mired in widely acknowledged mediocrity? Would more than one third of the students entering college need remedial education?
[. . .]
A hundred years ago, Frank Norris wrote a famous book called The Octopus. It was about the interlocking, all-powerful railroad company. Today's Octopus is the Education Establishment. There seem to be more than 100 separate entities that exist to make public schools conform to liberal/progressive templates.
[. . .]
multicultural means that your kids are supposed to learn as much about foreign cultures as about their own country. American third-graders know the names of rivers in China but don't know the word Mississippi. That's just quackery, and sneaky as well. There is nothing accidental about it.

Massachusetts District Attorney Investigates Abuse of Disabled Students

[From article]
Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni said Monday his office and state police are conducting an inquiry into allegations of abuse at the Peck Full Service Community School in Holyoke, Mass.
The Disability Law Center released a report last week alleging disabled students were slapped, punched, shoved and restrained for long periods of time. The report said the treatment often left the children with bruises and scratches.

The Holyoke Teachers Association said in a statement the center is "not portraying an entirely accurate or fair picture," without elaborating.
The public school has since hired a new principal and tapped a private company to run its programs serving children with emotional and behavioral disabilities.

Feminist Teachers Discriminate Against Boys

[From article]
War is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength. And inequality is equality – at least in the mind of Karen Keller, the Bainbridge Island Review, and their enablers.
[. . .]
Keller, a kindergarten "teacher" at Captain Johnston Blakely Elementary in Bainbridge Island, Wash., was refusing to let the boys in her class play with Legos during free play time.
[. . .]
If you're acquainted with the mental illness masquerading as teaching philosophy today, you can imagine this woman's problem. As the BIR explained, "Keller … watched with discouragement as self-segregation defined her classroom – her boy students flocked to the building blocks while her girl students played with dolls and crayons and staples, toys that offered them little challenge or opportunity to fail and develop perseverance."
[. . .]
"[W]e have been discouraged by the number of unfair personal attacks made against [Keller]" – including "hate phone calls at her classroom and vicious messages on Facebook" [. . .] Hmm...I wonder if the BIR was discouraged by the hatred directed at Christian businessmen persecuted for not wanting to cater faux weddings or the Christian pizza-shop owner forced into hiding by death threats.
[. . .]
If Keller is really so concerned about girls being discouraged by the boys' presence (a pity science hasn't yet weeded those creatures out of the species), there's a simple solution: create separate boys' and girls' Lego areas. But this wasn't good enough for her; she had to stick it to the boys for being boys.
[. . .]
Reality: hardly anyone, if anyone at all, really believes in equality. Equality is simply a ruse used when convenient to advance leftism, and it remains operative only until inequality better serves that end. Just witness the college "anti-racism" protesters who recently ejected whites from their "safe areas."

Ralph Nader Appeals To Harvard Lawyers, Not To Be Harvard Lawyers

Ralph Nader appeals to Harvard lawyers, not to be Harvard lawyers.

Harvard produces politicians. See, e.g., their latest contribution to the world of corruption fighting pols, Prof. Lawrence "On Leave" Lessig, who uses the university's tax exempt status, contrary to state and US laws, to save his precious million dollars in campaign finances which he promises to end the corruption or something. Hoorah for Harvard's tax exemption. Are Hillary's campaign lawyers HLS grads, who suggest it's OK to violate fund raising laws? Just apologize if caught, don't ask for permission.

White Students Will Be Minority in United States by 2044

Brookings.edu

In 2020 white students in America will be a minority. Will Harvard University have a special office to assist them with their feelings too? White people are a minority in the world population now; and have been for a long time making up sixteen percent of the world population. Where are the white people's support organizations?
Race based diversity and inclusion ignores the fact that there are many upper class (wealth and education) black humans, and many more lower class white humans in this country. Using a collective standard makes diversity and inclusion an abomination. A more rational standard measures individuals and their background. US is now run by irrational, self serving elitists, who apply laws when it serves their interests. See reported prosecution of US Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) for what most elected officials do.

Then there is the President's Wife, First Lady, who whined at a commencement speech about how much she and her President husband suffered and still suffer. She with degrees from Princeton and Harvard Law School having held a job paying $300,000 a year, now flying around in a jet plane with taxpayers funding her servants. She still whines. No gratitude.

Just as the brothers Tsanaev were granted asylum in the United States from their oppressive nation, and placed bombs at the finish line of the Boston marathon, showing their gratitude. This woman whines about how hard her life is. She joins another First Lady, Hillary Clinton who whined she was dead broke when she and her  husband left the White House. These are the highest leaders of the nation. Is it any wonder why there is so much animosity and hatred?

[From article]
In his talk at the Fong Auditorium on Thursday evening, Harper, whose research focuses on the experiences of minority students on college campuses, said that colleges with diverse populations like Harvard often lack cross-group interactions and meaningful inclusion because administrators believe in “magical thinking.”
“We define [magical thinking] as the assumption that powerful educational outcomes will be automatically manufactured through student-initiated engagement with peers who are different,” Harper said.
He added that if administrators and faculty want to create an inclusive campus, it is their responsibility to create programs that support minority students and encourage dialogue.

White children will be outnumbered by minority kids in the United States in just five years, new Census Bureau projections reveal.
This is the result of an ongoing trend of declining birth among white Americans and a baby boom among immigrant groups, as well as a surge in immigration.
By the year 2020, 50.2percent of all children in the US are expected to be non-white, according to the Census. By 2044, whites will be outnumbered by minorities.
The Census study, released this week, predicts that by year 2060, nearly 20percent of the population will be foreign born - thanks to an influx of 64million new immigrants.

Students Stand At Their Desks In San Francisco Schools

In four of the school’s classrooms, chairs have been removed and students spend the day standing at their desks. Some parents, concerned about how sedentary kids have become, donated money for the new desks.
[. . .]
The teachers are convinced. They say the kids are calmer and more attentive and parents say the children sleep better at night. What seemed at first like a kooky Marin County idea is having a real benefit.

Two Tulane Law School Students Found Dead

Wajih Mazloum, 28, and Sara LaMont, 25, were found dead Sunday morning after an apparent murder-suicide near Tulane University
[From article]
Neighbors said that they did not notice or hear the couple fighting and that Mr Mazloum never acted aggressively towards Ms LaMont.
They were most well known for sitting on their porch balcony, smoking cigarettes and keeping an eye on the happenings of their block.
Friends and professors of Ms LaMont said that the young woman, who was planning on going into sports law, was 'enormously talented' and one of the sharpest at the school.
The student previously worked with the New Jersey Nets and the New York Yankee affiliate Trenton Thunder before entering law school.
She served on the Tulane Law Review, which required outstanding academic achievement, according to the New Orleans Advocate, and the school's Student Bar Association described her as 'brilliant'.
Law school dean David Meyer said that both students had bright futures ahead of them, making the incident 'inexplicable'.
Mr Mazloum, who worked with disadvantaged youth, was also described as 'positive and upbeat'.

Student Of Islam Attacks Policeman With Kinfe After Robbery

Suspect Hudson Taylor Clark, 32

[From article]
A man accused of stabbing a police officer after robbing a gun supply store recently became interested the Islamic terrorist movement, authorities have revealed.
"For the last couple of months he has been working out a lot and he has been visiting Islamic websites and other types of websites described to us as Jihadist in nature," Canon City Police Chief Paul Schultz said. The suspect's family said he had been making "Islamic-type statements," Schultz added.
[. . .]
Saturday afternoon, investigators say suspect Hudson Taylor Clark, 32, tried to steal a handgun from Victory Defense on the 2800 block of E. Main St. He ended up running off with other merchandise. When Cpl. Sanders tried to stop him a few blocks away, Clark allegedly attacked him with an 8-inch knife.
"Without saying anything, [he] stabbed Cpl. Sanders under the left arm...then continued to encroach upon him. Sanders told him to stop; he did not stop, he continued to encroach upon Sanders with the knife," Schultz said.
Sanders then shot Clark five times. Clark fell to the ground, but never lost consciousness.
"He continued make comments...next to him was the Quran, which fell out onto the ground, and during the first aid situation he did ask for the Quran," Schultz said.
Investigators said that Clark continued to smile after being shot and asked if he had in fact stabbed the officer.

After Many Years the FDA Moves to Evaluate Electric Shocking of Disabled Persons

In support of using these electric shocking devices, a mother of a young man who is shocked is quoted. Why isn't the student who gets the shocks allowed to speak? Does his mother know better what is good for him? Only when the experts cannot find a professional is a relative allowed to speak for the disabled persons. Usually the parents are marginalized because they are not professionals. Then again when it comes to psychiatric illnesses everyone is an expert is allowed to make diagnoses.

[From article]
The Food and Drug Administration is considering whether to ban devices used by the Judge Rotenberg Educational Center in Canton, Massachusetts, the only place in the country known to use skin shocks as aversive conditioning for aggressive patients.
It's a rare move by the FDA, following years of complaints from disability rights' groups and even a U.N. report that the shocks are tantamount to torture.
FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg says the shock therapy has raised a lot of questions.
[. . .]
Dr. Steven Miles, a bioethicist at the University of Minnesota, was one of several advisers concerned about the lack of scientific studies showing the shock therapy works. That only one treatment facility uses them, he said, makes it "unreasonable to conclude that these devices are part of the standard of care for this class of patients."

MA Politicians Love Teachers Union Campaign Contributions

Two Massachusetts state senators advocate for teachers unions. They do not advocate for educating students. They fail to mention the role of teachers unions making education policy. The unions have a role in the dumbed down students turned out by public schools across the nation. Unless and until that ends and their stranglehold on education policy is broken, the dumbing down will continue. See e.g., John Taylor Gatto's book, Dumbing Us Down. Or see how determined the unions are to thwart educating students, by their multi-year battle, which they lost, in Wisconsin when a Governor with a spine, Republican Scott Walker, stood up to them. MA politicians are famous for their lack of spines.

Wisconsin Republican Governor Scott Walker

[From article]
In 1993 when the Massachusetts Legislature voted to create charter schools, the intent was that charters would experiment with new practices for educating our children. Originally, it was intended to take the successful practices developed by charter schools and use them in the district public schools. Today, charter schools are promoted not as collaborators with public schools, but as competitors in a marketplace where test scores take the place of profits. In this market, there are rewards for schools that can avoid students who are likely to score low. That was never the intent.

First Grade Students Abuse Classmate, Teacher Stands By

[From article]
Naudia Reid, an accountant, claims that her daughter was stripped below the waist in a rear portion of a classroom at the New Visions Magnet School in Freeport by a trio of first-grade girls who sexually assaulted her, according to court papers.
Her disturbing suit claims that a teacher who entered the area to retrieve a book saw her daughter half-naked and curled up — but took no action.
[. . .]
Reid said her daughter suddenly began having intense nightmares after the attack and that she had her see a psychologist to understand why.
“She was scared to say anything at first,” Reid said. “She was blaming herself. But she finally told us what happened.”
Reid — who immediately pulled her out of the school — said principal Renee Crump Dedmon called her after the incident to tell her that something unseemly had happened but failed to relay the true extent of the attack.

Pennsylvania Woman Jailed For Child's Truancy Dies In Custody

[From article]
Hundreds of parents, some impoverished and overwhelmed, have been jailed in Pennsylvania for failing to pay court fines that arise from truancy hearings after their children skip school, creating what some call a "debtor's prison" for people like Eileen DiNino.
DiNino, 55, of Reading, was found dead in a jail cell Saturday morning, hours after she surrendered to serve a 48-hour sentence.
[. . .]
More than 1,600 people have been jailed in Berks County alone - where Reading is the county seat - over truancy fines since 2000, more than two-thirds of them women, the newspaper reported. Charges are sometimes lodged against the students rather than their parents.
[. . .]
the fines handed down by judges were typically small, perhaps $20. The debt adds up, he said, over court costs and fees. In one case alone involving DiNino, her bill included a laundry list of routine fees: $8 for a "judicial computer project"; $60 for Berks constables; $40 for "summary costs" for several court offices; and $10 for postage.
"In recent years, the government has found all sorts of interesting ways to extract money from people. The fines can be $20 and the courts costs can be $150," Guida said.

Were Ann Dunham and Barack Obama Really Married?

Or, was he a kindergartener preparing for college -- genius supreme that he incontrovertibly is?
Or not. Of course Soebarkah himself did not fold time and space; of course he is not a genius supreme. The genuine, non-conspiratorial explanation is much more mundane.
Soebarkah lived in Indonesia, then appeared in Hawaii for a very brief spell, then moved right back to Indonesia, and then back to Hawaii again.
We can confirm this by consulting Department of Education records.
Except we can't, of course, because by mere happenstance the Department of Education "has been unable to find his records."
Perhaps instead we could simply examine the 1965 passport of Stanley Ann Dunham? Nope; the State Department informs us that Dunham's passport materials were destroyed as a matter of routine.
Clearly, these sorts of thing often happen.

But what about the “cross-indexing” of the name Bounel with Obama’s name, his home address, and his SSN -- all of which Snopes admits happened?
The above Snopes quote claims that “this type of error is common in [personal information] databases.”
They supply no data whatsoever in support of this claim, but, once again, never mind.
Clearly, questions about Obama’s identity have nothing to do with data and shouldn’t.
We already know the answers, and the answers are that everything’s A-OK.
And yet, there remain pesky questions such as “just how common is it for names to be mistakenly linked to other names, addresses, and SSN’s in “personal information databases”?
