Cambridge and Global Warming

"the Cambridge City Council officially recognized climate change as an 'emergency.'” Ten years ago the City Council declared a housing emergency then proceeded to sell city owned land to private developers.
The City Council consistently uses words as Humpty Dumpty does in Alice in Wonderland. Words in Cambridge City Hall mean whatever the politicians want them to mean. "Recommendations included eliminating all street parking by 2020." It will be easier and more beneficial to eliminate all sidewalks. No sidewalks would end all injuries to pedestrians and car-pedestrian accidents. No sidewalks would provide room for more parking and wider streets to enable faster movement of cars and bicycles with no fear of alarming pedestrians. One ordinance should prohibit humans from being outside of a building unless he or she is in or on a vehicle. No sidewalks? No problems. The Emergency Climate Change Committee joins the Disciples of Monsignor Gore having it backwards. Cars rule! As for eliminating global warming, politicians and their academic cheerleaders should stop talking for a few years to allow the planet to cool down. Until then wind turbines should be installed at the Council Chambers, the Kennedy School and the five Boston area Law Schools, and the State House. All that hot wind energy will generate humongous kilowatt hours.
