Seven-Year-Old Hacks Into Public Wi-Fi in 11 Minutes

Betsy Davies (pictured) watched an online video tutorial before being asked to hack into a Wi-Fi hotspot. It took the seven-year-old 11 minutes to infiltrate the network by setting up a rogue access point - frequently used by attackers to activate a ‘man in the middle’ attack, and begin eavesdropping on - or ‘sniffing’ - traffic.
[From article]
Just two days after an investigation revealed how much personal information public Wi-Fi networks can ‘suck’ from phones, a child has shown how easy the hotspots are to hack.
A seven-year-old broke into a Wi-Fi hotspot in just 10 minutes and 54 seconds after watching an online video tutorial.
The ethical hacking demo was carried out under the supervision of an online security expert to highlight just how vulnerable the networks are.

[. . .]
An investigation by 5 News earlier this week found that hackers can force customers in a café to switch their phones from a legitimate Wi-Fi network to a fake one, without them knowing.

Rogue Access Points are wireless access points, installed on a company’s network without the company’s knowledge. Ms Davies began by searching for, and watching, a freely available video tutorial detailing how to hack a network - a Google search returns over 11 million results, and YouTube lists 14,000 tutorials (pictured)

A woman fitted with a pacemaker has died after passing through an airport scanner in the southern Russian town of Ulan-Ude.
Diana Tolstova, 30, died in the airport minutes after passing through the scanner. Her husband Maxim, 33, said that they had provided papers proving that Mrs Tolstova was fitted with the heart device – which is adversely affected by airport scanners.
"I don’t know what happened but she went through it anyway," he told Central European News agency.
"When we got to the departure gate she began to feel dizzy and suddenly collapsed.
[. . .]
"Security and airport personnel are given strict instructions about how to handle people with pacemakers, and we warn them never to let a wearer go through a metal detector," an airport spokesman said.
"In normal circumstances, they see their papers and let them pass. In this case, the patient seems to either have forgotten about it, didn’t know or became confused by the airport security arrangements.

“Our parents' generation was far more active than we are now," he said.
"If someone is on the floor above you at work, rather than going to see them you would send an email. And you would phone up a friend rather than travelling to meet them.
“Inactivity leads to obesity, and it means risk of cardiovascular disease is greatly increased.
“Pretty much every pathology – such as breast cancer, prostate cancer or bowel cancer – you are both more likely to get it and less likely to recover from it if you are inactive.”

To passers-by, the Cambridge graduate and former high-flying civil servant may look odd, but she insists that the fabric — called Aaronia Shield — is the only way she can protect herself from the radiation caused by wifi and mobile phone signals.
Like increasing numbers of people, Mary believes she suffers from electromagnetic hypersensitivity intolerance syndrome (EHS) — in other words, she thinks the electronic devices most of us rely on in our everyday lives are making her ill.
Up to 5 per cent of the population — more than 3 million people — believe they are affected by some degree of electro-sensitivity, an allergy to the radiowaves and microwaves emitted by devices.
[. . .]
‘I hardly ever go to public places, and only go to friends’ houses if they have switched everything off beforehand.’
The highly controversial idea that electromagnetic fields can affect our health was first raised in the Sixties, when American doctor Robert O. Becker campaigned against electricity pylons, which he believed were causing illness to those who lived nearby.
[. . .]
A 2011 brain-scan study found that, in the presence of wifi radiation, male students’ brain activity was reduced in areas associated with paying attention.
Other research presented to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine in 2010 reported that wifi signals significantly dampened brain activity in young women when they were trying to repeat a series of numbers that had been read to them.
[. . .]
‘It started as a strange warmth inside my body, but, by the mid-Nineties, I was very unwell, with an irregular heartbeat and breathing problems,’ he says
For many years, Ricky says, he was unable to work because of his illness.
‘I’ve tried everything,’ he says. ‘I’ve slept inside a canopy made from fabric to block out the radiation, and painted my house with a graphite paint.

Money For Homeless Used For Computer Services

Perhaps some of the money should be used for sensitivity training to prevent rape and homophobia. This shows the strength of the lobby for the wifi industry. It is as strong as the psychiatric industry which provides drugs to homeless persons but no housing. The priorities of the government are truly amazing. They match the public safety priorities which target harmless vulnerable citizens and ignore violent criminals. What can you expect with a lawless White House and Department of Justice?

[From article]
The Seattle City Council was expected to vote Monday on a measure that would fund Internet access at the city's homeless camps.
[. . .]

"That's too much opportunity for abuse," resident Cindy Phillips told local television station KING 5. "There are public libraries, and other public resources such as WorkSource, that can better assist the homeless in finding the jobs, or other resources they need," she said.
The money to fund Internet and wireless access would come from a budget item set aside to improve other conditions in Seattle's homeless tent cities, including access to showers, electricity and cooking facilities.

UK Woman Spends About $10K Shielding Home From Electromagnetic Radiation, Cell Phones, Wifi

[From article]
She shuns computers and mobile phones and has spent £4,000 hiring specialists to cover her house in Shooting Fields in four coats of thick, ray-repelling paint.
[. . .]
“I have a device which helps me to detect how many wireless signals are near and I’m reassured that I will not have unwanted wi-fi guests coming into my home.”
[. . .]
Glynn Hughes, the boss of Block Radiation, which runs websites including wireless- protection.org, thinks research which claims people do not suffer from symptoms of electro-sensitivity do not paint an accurate picture.
And he believes health experts are discouraged into investigating further because the technology industry is a lucrative market for the economy.

Ron Paul: Us Becoming Fascist State

Ron Paul says the US is "slipping into fascism." Maybe we've already arrived. Technology is used by Communists and crime families to control the population and most of them are clueless including but not limited to politicians, police and FBI criminals. In one prominent instance the Supreme Court of the United States ruled (Kyllo vs US) that when police use thermal imaging (one of several through the wall technologies) it is a violation of the Fourth Amendment. It is an unlawful entry without warrant. Yet there is no state law or any US law which allows the police or the FBI to stop private use of thermal imaging devices. Three states have laws, MA, MI and ME, regarding use of electromagnetic radiation devices. Police do not enforce the laws (in Massachusetts at least), due to negligent training (at best), or because they use the illegal technology themselves to control unpopular persons. In two cases reported in the NY Times criminals use computer technicians to thwart telephone company switches without the company's knowledge to divert phone calls. Cell phones, which use microwaves, a form of electromagnetic radiation for their signals, are much easier to access as well as wireless computer usage.

[From article]
"we're slipping into a fascist system where it's a combination of government and big business and authoritarian rule and the suppression of the individual rights of each and every American citizen."

High Tech Crimes

High Tech Crimes

This is technology gone wild. (David Abel and Jenn Abelson, "11
Charged with massive ID theft," Boston Globe, August 6, 2008) Local
police admit they are clueless how to stop high tech crimes.
Corporations using wireless computer networks are enablers theft. The
US government is unable to stop theft of money, usually a state crime.
This is one kind of new technology being used for criminal
abuses. Academic scientists who wouldn't think of using technology for
crime forget that all technology has been used for good and evil.
Directed energy systems can be used to kill or to disabled
civilians not only by military or law enforcement authorities but also
by criminal organizations. High technology electrical weapons can
destroy a person's ability to sleep or to think rationally. Unlike
theft these crimes are not even reported by mainstream media.
Authorities are untrained to investigate some high tech abuses. The
victims are treated as if they are mentally ill.
