Rational Argument On Global Climate Change, Etc.

This article is based on a Heartland Panel talk [Dec7, 2015, at Hotel California, Paris].

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has to provide proof for significant human-caused climate change; yet their climate models have never been validated and are rapidly diverging from actual observations. The real threat to humanity comes not from any (trivial) greenhouse warming but from cooling periods creating food shortages and famines.
Burden of proof
Climate change has been going on for millions of years -- long before humans existed on this planet. Obviously, the causes were all of natural origin and not anthropogenic. There is no reason to think that these natural causes have suddenly stopped. For example, volcanic eruptions, various types of solar influences, and atmosphere-ocean oscillations all continue today. We cannot model these natural climate-forcings precisely and therefore cannot anticipate what they will be in the future.

But let’s call this the “Null hypothesis.” Logically therefore, the burden of proof falls upon alarmists to demonstrate that this null hypothesis is not adequate to account for empirical climate data. In other words, alarmists must provide convincing observational evidence for anthropogenic climate change (ACC). They must do this by detailed comparison of the data with climate models. This is of course extremely difficult and virtually impossible since one cannot specify these natural influences precisely.

Anyway, any warming observed during the past century appears to be trivially small and most likely economically beneficial overall.

I therefore regard the absence of any significant GH warming as settled; note my emphasis on the word “significant.” Policies to limit CO2 emissions are wasting resources that could better be used for genuine societal problems like public health. They are also counter-productive since CO2 promotes plant growth and crop yields, as shown by dozens of agricultural publications.
I am much more concerned by a cooling climate -- as predicted by many climate scientists -- with its adverse effects on ecology and severe consequences for humanity.

At the same time, assuming that our scheme does not work perfectly, we need to prepare for adaptation to a colder climate, with special attention to supply of food and sustainable water and energy.
The outlook for such adaptation appears promising – provided there is adequate preparation. However, the coming cold period will test the survivability of our technological civilization.
I dedicate this essay to the memory of Prof “Bob” Carter, my fellow-panelist, NIPCC co-author, and travel companion in Western and Eastern Europe, China, and all around the USA. "He died with his boots on."

Set your alarms early as Mercury, which is the fifth planet to join the group, is set to rise just before 6:50 a.m. on Wednesday.
Our sunrise that day happens at 7:32 a.m.
If you don’t get to see them this week, don’t worry, these five planets will be visible each day before dawn through February 20, 2016.
All five planets will be visible to the naked eye so you don’t need a telescope, but EarthSky.org recommends binoculars to help you spot Mercury.
Jupiter will be the first planet to rise each evening followed by Mars, Saturn, Venus and Mercury which rise overnight and early morning.
Venus will likely be the easiest to spot as it is the brightest object in the sky behind the moon and the sun. You can spot Venus by looking toward the southeast.

The "science" of global warming is based upon computer model predictions. Can these computer models predict what nature will do to maintain its equilibrium? Einstein recognized the need to compensate for the differences in time between satellites and people on earth. Else GPS systems would mislead them. Where is the role of nature cooling itself, warming itself when needed that is built into the "science" of computer modeling? Geologists and astronomers observe that weather patterns and earth temperatures go through 40,000 year cycles. Are there "scientific" computer models based on these cycles? In the days leading up to the Sturgeon Moon of 2015, the teams that take turns harassing me went through some quick changes. First there was a team of police employees, Communists from Washington state, and associates of the California crime Syndicate. They continued their effort to try to make me into a homosexual and prevent me from interacting with heterosexual loving women. They limited for many years my interaction to man-hating feminists and lesbians, and control freak psychologists, psychiatrists, police and FBI informants. Often they are hateful and hostile homosexuals who like to pretend to be women.

They were replaced by a team of police from New York or New Jersey. They arrived with some new purchasers of personal journals that the FBI stole from me in 1973. They sold copies to local police and crime families who proceeded to humiliate me and ridicule me for the next 45 years. They usually share the journals with an unsuspecting young woman, or a knowing homosexual, who enjoys reading them. She/or he is recruited to make contact with me and engage me in conversation. After that period, with the passage of the first of three super moons, that team left the field.

They were immediately replaced by a team from unknown geographic area. They were new to the rotation, and first tried using a young woman as bait. When I did not go for it, her, they tried a young man. That indicates it is a new psychologist who does not know me at all. It is a frequent occurrence with teams brought in and told that I just arrived from the planet Alpha Centauri. They need to test me "to see what he does."

A new homosexual who apparently did not get any of the several memos that "He's not a homosexual." was/is an associate of the Kennedy cult. He tried a new approach of attempting to have me arrested or put into a hospital. He insulted me trying to provoke a criminal response online, with threats about guns and terrorist groups. It was obvious. His speech showed he was one of many wannabe psychologists.

There is a large group of otherwise unemployable young men who took jobs working in mental hospitals as guards, called technicians. They act as if they are therapists and talk with the inmates as if they were providing therapy. They bring their wishful thinking out into the real world and treat others as if they are mental patients. It is hilarious when they speak to you as if they are sane and that they think you are not.

David Rosehan described his graduate student experiment. His students were given an assignment to get themselves admitted to a mental hospital. They said they heard voices which was enough for admission. Everyone employed at the institution thought all the students were insane. The only exceptions were the inmates who knew something was up. It proved that sanity has no pathology and no rational standards.

But that does not prevent millions of police, politicians, lawyers and journalists from believing in psychiatry. It is one more example of what Henry Louis Mencken described as "The most costly of all follies is to believe passionately in the palpably not true. It is the chief occupation of mankind."

What is truly amazing is that all of the groups over the past 46 years, police, crime families, Communists, FBI informants, Harvard University campus police and building superintendents, performed the exact same pattern of harassment with minor flourishes added. Basic and unrelenting is sleep disturbances every one or two hours, and 24/7 surveillance. They are usually uneducated mercenary psychopaths who will do anything for money. Harassing a 70-year-old man. Provoking, insulting, ridiculing, humiliating, and relentless character assassination. No problem.

Tonight the world has been able to observe a spectacular celestial phenomenon – the supermoon, also known as the Sturgeon Moon. It is the first of three consecutive “supermoons” occurring this year.

The Year 2015 has done a lot to thrill social media with astronomical events of all kinds. In July the world witnessed a phenomenon dubbed the Blue Moon. However, it wasn’t really blue and looked like a regular full moon. The label Blue Moon is applied to the second full moon in a single month, which occurs very rarely, hence the expression – “once in a Blue Moon.”
Stargazers were treated to another cosmic spectacle in July when the two brightest planets, Venus and Jupiter, came so close to each other in the sky that they appeared to be a single, super bright star, which some astronomy-lovers claim resembled the biblical ‘Star of Bethlehem.’

Medical Researcher at Harvard University, Leaves Prestigious Position to Get Close To Nature

Bethany Butzer, who was studying the benefits of yoga for children and teens for Harvard, left her job at the university's medical school and went to a 130-square-foot cabin near Manitoulin Island.
Butzer spent the summer living at the log cabin near Willisville, Ontario, which was only accessible by boat, with her husband and she said she was 'actually amazed at how content I became'.
The Canadian woman landed the Harvard job after she completed a PhD in psychology at Western University, but she just wasn't happy with her work or home life, the National Post reported.

She said: 'I felt that my professional success was flourishing but my personal health and well-being were foundering.
'It just didn't really feel satisfying.
'I just knew that I needed to spend some time outside in nature.
'I just took the leap.'
She came to the cabin in the woods with only two bags of clothes after selling nearly all of her possessions and Butzer picked blueberries, dodged bears and watched chipmunks play for hours after she arrived.
Butzer said: 'I would just stare at the trees, watch the sky, go fishing and read.'
She also did a good amount of yoga.
The experience was so positive for Butzer and her husband that they took another risk and moved to Prague in the Czech Republic last week where she will teach psychology at a college and he will work as an artist.

Gore's film like the Pope cites politicians, who are further removed from reality. Problem with computer models is they omit the role of nature adapting to changes in the environment. In the weeks leading up to the Perseid meteor shower in August 11-13, 2015 three primary groups continued an ongoing (45 years) harassment and provocation campaign trying to have me arrested. The present pattern was to remind everyone that "He's crazy." just in case anyone forgot. After scaring everyone else away they were able to conduct their brutal campaign without any interference. The three primary groups are the California Syndicate, the midwestern outfit, and Communist police employees from New York and Washington state. A  computer technician and her partner from China continued the behavior conditioning project trying to make me into a homosexual. That is the failed effort begun in New York in the 1970s.

For a couple of days the Kennedy cult used young women as bait. The Genovese group used Harvard University faculty as bait. Harvard University building superintendents and campus police enabled access, and covered up the ongoing criminal campaign of non stop abuses.  

Usual sleep disturbances continue without any break, every day and every night, every one or two hours. Tampering with my home computer is always present forcing me to use public computers. But now that a trained computer technician is on the job she follows me to the public computers and interferes with them also. One day an FBI employee was present and left abruptly when I posted a comment about the misguided statements promulgated by that organization to mislead voters and taxpayers.

The USPS carrier, perhaps another new one, is again tampering with my mail. He or she holds back mail and does not deliver some of it. This is an ongoing problem for over 25 years. My dozens of complaints to the postmaster have not ended that problem. Telephone tampering is another feature of these tech savvy criminals. 

During this period of nature's sky show, in response to the non stop insistence that "He's crazy." criminals entered my apartment and placed psychiatric drugs in my foods. My repeated complaints to the district attorney and to the Attorney General of Massachusetts have not ended that repeating crime either.

Almost finished reading a book about police, FBI, courts, prosecutors and Justice Department corruption. Ambrose Evans-Pritchard, The Secret Life of Bill Clinton. He discusses the cover up of the Oklahoma federal building bombing, the death of Vince Foster and the drug riddled  government agencies in Arkansas. I mention it here because many of the honest dedicated policemen, policewomen, civilian informants, even one woman prosecutor, an FBI agent, and several journalists had their careers destroyed, as mine was, by corrupt officials all the way up to the highest levels of those agencies. Two teenagers were murdered. One constant presence were allegations that these good people were mentally ill. It is appalling how psychiatry is used by corrupt officials and few people are aware of it or even believe it possible. But that is what they do. 

I reveal these abuses because they prevent me from even posting new stories on this blog.  For regular readers I will resume as soon as I am able.

Woolsey further noted a threat resulting from non-nuclear devices, commonly referred to as radio-frequency weapons. Terrorists, criminals and disgruntled individuals, he said, “have already made localized EMP attacks using RFWs in Europe and Asia.”

Nature Rules, Proof At Lesley University

These images demonstrate that nature will have its way no matter what man does. Global warming enthusiasts insist that man has harmed the environment especially the atmosphere irreparably. But some scientists indicate that nature will do what it must to achieve its end, i.e., to maintain its equilibrium. If the earth gets too hot techtonic plates will move to allow heat to escape. They are called earthquakes. 



Whatever misguided actions of man will be compensated for by nature. If it requires eliminating man that too will happen. Life will continue with or without man. In view of the growing number of intelligent robots it is questionable that man will survive or even be necessary soon. So global warming is not a matter to be obsessed with. Robots will rule. One article suggested that man will be pets of robots. Hehe.



In these images you can see green plants, weeds perhaps, growing up through concrete sidewalks at Lesley University in early June 2015. It is not unique. It happens a lot. Man's attempt to regularize nature making walkways even and level, will be adapted to suit the needs of nature.

Summer Solstice 2015

Each year at the solstices there are celebrations in or near Cambridge MA. Pagans and Wiccans celebrate nature, and the non spiritual world. This year I finally made it to a party for the summer solstice. It was advertised by a neighborhood as a block party. I went to see what it was like. As soon as I arrived I realized (actually before I told myself not to have unreasonable expectations) that parties are parties. What makes them or breaks them are the people at the party. OK some parties are thought to be great because of the food, celebrities, the drugs or the open bar. It is like all of life. Human happiness depends on the people with whom you live and/or work. If you like them and they like you it is a wonderful life. If not it may not be unhappy. But it is just bearable, like the lives of the mass of men, "quiet desperation." Henry David Thoreau, “The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation."



There were lots of children, toddlers trying to break a pinata which was on the ground. The toddlers were blindfolded and trying one at a time. I immediately became alert to the potential for being thought a predator if I watched them have fun. I moved along to a one man band with food on a table. One young lady smiled at me. That also put me on alert. What was she up to? I'm no longer young and handsome. I'm not rich, famous or powerful. Why was she smiling at me? If I walked over and spoke to her would she accuse me of trying to rape her? Today's young women have been conditioned not to trust men, the enemy. "Why are you talking to me? Do I know you?" I once read that young women who are trained to smile at others fear to do so in cities. Some men think the woman wants to be approached and do not know they are just being polite. I kept moving. I did not see any friendly faces. They are neighbors, most of whom do not know one another. I didn't even live in the neighborhood. I went shopping. Along the way I saw a couple walking with a dog. Uh, wait. I saw something I shouldn't have seen. Finally got to the store. New man at the deli counter. Why do I always get the new guy, who does not know what he is doing? Like many at the deli counter he is black from Africa, not African American. If I complain "He's a racist." Got my stuff and left.



Readers may think I'm paranoid for how I see others. They have not had experiences anything near mine. So let me briefly, emphasis on briefly, explain. Currently police employees from Somerville, MA resumed the role of primary harassers in my life. I said resumed because Somerville, MA police employees participated in the long harassment campaign beginning in or about 1972. They disturb my sleep every one or two hours trying to provoke violence. They sabotage my home computer. They interfere with my telephone, landline and cell, my cable television, and US mail. They intentionally inflict emotional and psychological stress, a tort. Their goal is to have me arrested or put into a hospital. I live in Cambridge. Why are they allowed to conduct a brutal campaign of criminal harassment and surveillance in Cambridge? Why do Cambridge police allow it? A better question is why are they harassing me at all? During one period, a government agency had a standing offer of $50,000 to anyone who could drive me crazy.

The best answer after 45 years of similar abuses is, they do it to control me. In 1973 government psychiatrists drugged me for 80 consecutive days contrary to law. I was not under the care of any psychiatrist. There was no court order to permit this series of chemical assaults, poisoning under state statute. (Ever hear of someone being drugged by government psychiatrists illegally?) "This is nothing," as the Dustin Hoffman character movie producer, says in Wag The Dog. I never volunteered to be a human subject for any medical research project. They thought I was a spy. They asked, "How did he know that?" It is a pattern still operative today, of arrogance. They think of themselves as smarter, morally superior to others. If they do not tell ordinary people what they are doing and separating their lies from truth, it is (in their minds) impossible for ordinary civilians to figure out what they are doing.



I was speculating to my friends by telephone. My phone was tapped by the FBI. I didn't know it. But I was right. In any case over the next 42 years, organized crime families, police, FBI informants and agents, and Communists took turns harassing me. Their goal was to control me, often by destroying me. The California Syndicate began the attacks in 1968 because they were at war with the Kennedy Cult which adopted me. One element then was "He likes to sleep with married women." This was a stretch, because I was paranoid then due to my political activity. I feared being criticized for sleeping with married women. A few flirted with me and invited me to lunch. At that time in New York City many people were sleeping with anyone and everyone they felt like sleeping with. It was not a big deal. Truth does not matter for character assassination. Just relentless broadcasting of accusations. No evidence is required.



The government and crime families used drugs, behavior conditioning, brute force, threats, ridicule, humiliation, insults, surveillance, provocations and most of all character assassination. It worked. They isolated me. The FBI stole my personal journals and sold copies to crime families and local police who used them to ridicule and to humiliate me. They culled the several women I dated and wrote about. They are all married to FBI informants and agents. Today they still harass me but I no longer have any group or friends supporting me. The many well funded taxpayer funded agencies who's mission is to protect vulnerable people stand by and watch. Some participate in the abuses. They all use similar patterns, most often young women as bait. They are usually man hating feminists, and lesbians. That is why I am skeptical when women smile at me. Oh, and on Friday, June 19, 2015, one of the recent lead harassers, a black racist gentleman from the state of Washington, assured me, "That is all over. It's all locked up. No more of that." Uh-huh. So this is what?



Or consider this. On June 17, 2015 a white man, 21, who allegedly hated black people, shot and killed nine black people who were attending a church service. A movement was resumed to take down the Confederate flag from the South Carolina state house. This is one of many political efforts exploiting the tragic deaths of innocent people. No less than the White House continued his propaganda tactics dividing Americans. With his liberal useful idiots, he blamed guns for those deaths. The pharmaceutical industry blames mental illness, demanding more taxpayer funded treatment. One genius politician blamed Fox News. Among those commenting on the Confederate flag, was the new Republican, Harvard College trained Governor of Massachusetts, Charlie Baker. He suggested it was a matter for the people of the state of South Carolina to display the flag or not. When he was confronted with a few extremist liberals in Massachusetts he immediately caved and apologized for saying what he did. One more spineless politician produced by Harvard University. So if a popular Governor is unwilling to stand up to speech and thought bullies who say they are offended by the Governor's speech, what is to be expected from small time bureaucrats who are obligated to accept complaints about abuse from vulnerable persons? A man accused of being crazy, complains about police and crime families harassing him? Hah!



How did we get to this situation of young white men hating black people and black people accusing all white people of racism? Did the past seven years of a White House and an Attorney General repeatedly accusing white people of racism play any role? On Sunday, June 21, 2015  irresponsible biased national journalists, cited the extremist leftist Southern Poverty Law Center, in reports of what to blame. Richard Cohen their spokesman said the South Carolina man accused of nine killings got his ideas from the internet. Really? So he became a hater of black people from internet sites. Does that mean that everyone who reads essays and reports online will become racists? Where did black people who hate white people get their ideas from? The same internet? Did comments by the White House and the Attorney General over the past seven years get reported and repeated on the internet? Did that have any effect on young black people? Or young white people? Did radio and television journalists have any effect on increasing the hatred of black people toward white people, by repeating the propaganda that all white people are racist? Did propaganda promoted by the Southern Poverty Law Center, and repeated by useful idiot journalists,  have any effect on the South Carolina suspect? What role did Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and the many misguided politicians, who repeat extremist leftist propaganda have on the mind of the suspect?



The above mentioned groups openly and fearlessly harass me after 45 previous years of similar criminal abuse. Some friends died. Others abandoned me. I don't blame them. Who needs this in their lives? I am left as a target for abuse by psychopaths who enjoy beating up vulnerable people. I am now over 70 years old. For 42 years one element of their relentless character assassination is "He's crazy." Government psychiatrists had three cover stories for their drugging campaign. "He's having a nervous breakdown." or "He's a drug addict." or "Teenagers put PCP also called angel dust, [In some users, PCP may cause acute anxiety and a feeling of impending doom; in others, paranoia and violent hostility, and in some, it may produce a psychoses indistinguishable from schizophrenia. Many believe PCP to be one of the most dangerous drugs of abuse.] into his marijuana."



Each group has their own elements of character assassination. None of them broadcast anything to make me look good. While I was of interest to the Kennedy cult, they adopted me when I was a student at Columbia University. They intended to groom me to be a political leader. They did the same with others. It is how they produce politicians. They study and learn how to control and to manipulate their recruits. Most politicians are weak and have relaxed rectitude. They are the cadre of political leaders who go along to get along. Harvard University produces this kind of leader.



Today each crime family has their version of history which they believe and promote to others. Police and the FBI have their own version which they promote also. What makes this impossible to resolve is that their objective is control. But I am unable to comply with all of the elements of the various players. One group says "He's a criminal." The other says "He works for the police." Un-involved people get angry at me when it turns out I am not what someone else told them. One says "He's black." The other says "He's a white racist." One says "He's crazy." The other, "There's noting wrong with him." One says "He's homosexual." The other "He's heterosexual." It is always on with two conflicting demands which it is impossible for me to be at the same time. Yet that is what these players all demand. One says "He's a Communist." The other, "He's in organized crime." and so on. One has said for many years, "He's a retired drug dealer." The other "He's crazy and homeless."



In a PBS WNET production, Funkiest Monkeys, videographer Colin Stafford-Johnson observed Samson who replaced Tarzan the former dominant monkey of a troop of black crested macaques in Indonesia. Colin said, "He's completely on his own. That's not a good thing to be if you're a monkey. It's hard to believe looking at him now, the state of him, that yesterday he was surrounded by females. How the mighty can fall in such a short space of time. So I really don't know what's going to happen to him."



That reminded me of what a Columbia University classmate said about me, to me when I told him the police were harassing me. His reaction, "You're crazy." Then, "How the mighty have fallen." He knew me when I was a student leader at Columbia, and when the FBI was using me to fight organized crime for 15 years. He did not know they did not pay me, and then joined in the character assassination. He did not know the government drugged me. The human world imitates the natural world. Or is it the other way around?

That would include those officials who are paid to do something about it, e.g., police, prosecutors, politicians, FBI and taxpayer funded human services protection agencies. One social worker told me, "We can't help you with criminal matters." Huh? Police and crime families conduct a brutal criminal campaign of harassment and they can't help? What is their problem? An elder services taxpayer funded agency demanded of me, "Can you prove you are not mentally ill?" I mean, can anyone prove a negative? And what if I was? Does that make the abuse acceptable? How do these people justify their lack of spine and refusal to act against egregious abuses?

A Supermoon, or perigee moon, happens when the full or new moon does its closest fly-by of the Earth, making it look bigger than it normally does. And the spring equinox refers to the time of the year when the day and night are of equal duration, mid-way between the longest and shortest days.

The solar eclipse refers to a phenomenon where the sun and moon line up, so that the latter obscures the former. And while it won’t be affected by the two other events, it is rare that the three events happen even individually.

The Space Weather Prediction Center says that the storm is from sun activity that started on March 15. Two magnetic eruptions occurred in quick succession. They combined into one larger eruption before intersecting the Earth's orbit on Tuesday.
The storm arrived earlier (10 a.m. EDT) and was stronger than predicted. The storm could last 24-36 hours.
It warned that there could be possible widespread voltage control problems at power systems and some protective systems could trip out key assets from the grid but that appeared to not be happening.

Current estimates range from as low as 350,000 lost jobs to as many as 2.6 million “able-bodied adults [who will] drop out of the labor force.” How is this a “smashing success” or something to be “appreciated”?

Even as CoveredCalifornia (The Golden State’s ACA Health Exchange) signed up 1.3 million new Medicaid enrollees, California doctors, or at least 70 percent of them, said they could not afford to care for ACA-insured patients. Reimbursements were below their cost of staying in business. So, more insured persons and fewer doctors to care for them. Sounds like the average person will experience what our veterans are used to at VA Hospitals.

Aided by the extremely cold weather, Washington was able to evacuate his troops and artillery over newly frozen roads and to avoid Cornwallis’s encirclement. Climate Change Beyond Human Control

In recent three part PBS series about Australia: First Billion Years it was reported that the earth always wins no matter what man does to fight climate change. Are there so few scholars at Harvard and at MIT who have a historical perspective longer than ten years? Or see Harvard University astronomer Dimitar Sasselov's 2012 book, Life of Super Earths. He describes a 40,000 year cycle of climate changes on earth. Al Gore made $200 million exploiting human ignorance. Why not try to stop the 100,000 needless deaths each year in hospitals which humans can control.

For instance, because of that physical intuition, humans can watch a person overturn a cup of coffee and just know that the end result will be a puddle on the floor. A computer program, on the other hand, would have to do a laborious simulation and know the exact size of the cup, the height of the cup from the surface and various other parameters to understand the outcome, Davis said.
