Arlington MA Teen Uses Chemicals To Kill Himself

[From article]
“The manner in which this young man took his life was out of the ordinary — suicide itself is a quite common occurrence for us — and typically suicide incidents or suicide are not publicized,” Arlington police Chief Frederick Ryan told the Herald. “So the general public does not realize how frequent it does occur.”
Arlington schools Superintendent Kathleen Bodie confirmed that the person who died was sophomore Jeremy Kremer-McNeil.
Police came to Rockmont Road on Friday afternoon responding to a well-being check. Officers found Kremer-McNeil dead in the basement with evidence that he may have used hazardous materials, possible cyanide, to kill himself.

Arlington, MA Substitute Teacher Charged With Rape of Student

James Henry Martin III, 236, of Woburn, MA, Suspect

[From article]
Martin was working as a substitute teacher at Ottoson Middle School in Arlington when he met the teenager, police said. He resigned voluntarily in June 2013, said schools Superintendent Kathleen Bodie.
Martin arranged to meet the victim in January 2014, luring her to a parking lot using a mobile phone-based social media service where he raped her then dropped her off at a nearby restaurant, cops said.
“We are not aware of any other inappropriate conduct involving any other children,” Brodie said, “and we have no reason to believe that any other children were affected.”

MAD IN
AMERICA’s
International Film Festival
October 9th - 12th 2014
Regent Theatre
Arlington, MA USA
www.MadInAmericaInternationalFilmFestival.com

Dear friend of Mad in America,

From October 9th through 12th, 2014, Mad in America will be hosting its first International Film Festival at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, Massachusetts, USA. Our mission is to foster the pursuit of social justice and human rights by bringing together an international collective of voices, perspectives, and artistic presentations that challenge the current mental health system and explore alternative understandings of "mental illness."

The Festival Line-up

We have confirmed participants coming from across the United States, England, Ireland, Iceland, Sweden, and Canada, all of whom share a commitment to mental health alternatives. We are pleased to be bringing Elizabeth Kenny’s highly acclaimed one-woman play, SICK, to our Festival, and we will have a live musical performance from Dylan Tighe, an up-and-coming Irish singer-songwriter who’s written an album about his experiences of conventional psychiatric treatment. Our days will be full of films, speakers, and panels, and we will have an opening night cocktail party, as well as a closing night Gala dinner and Awards Ceremony with music, great food, and lots of fun.

Tickets now on sale!

Tickets are now available for purchase through our website here, and we are offering great Early Bird prices through July 31st. Available for purchase will be a four-day Festival Pass for $125, which includes all films, all speakers and panels, all live performances, and all social events, as well as one-day tickets for $30 (a one-day ticket for the full Sunday, including Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, is $50).

Travel and Lodging

We’ve also posted information on our website about travel and lodging to make it easier for those coming from afar. As the fall is busy tourist season, we encourage you to book your accommodations as early as possible!

Supporting MIA

Since our launch in January 2012, Mad in America has remained a grassroots organization run solely on the donations of our readers and community members, and your generosity has meant a great deal to us. In order to finance this Festival, we are continuing to rely on such grassroots funding. If you would like to support the festival with a donation of any amount, your name will be listed in the Festival program alongside our individual and organization sponsors. If you’d like to become a sponsor, please see our ‘Become a Sponsor’ page for more information.

We intend to use a part of your donations to set up a scholarship fund for those who would like to attend the festival, but are unable to do so because of the expense. We will award the scholarships through a lottery program. Stay updated, and spread the word!

To keep apprised of announcements, updates, and information about this exciting four-day event, you can sign up for our newsletter. Please share news of Mad in America’s International Film Festival with your community, and we hope to see you in Arlington this October!

Sincerely,

Laura Delano

Known Sex Offender Arrested In Arlington MA for Rape

[From article]
proud of his gang ties and repeatedly admitted his sexual attraction to children — chilling new details in reports from the state panel that unsuccessfully fought against the Level 3 sex offender’s prison release last year.
The Community Access Board, which is charged with annually evaluating prisoners civilly committed as sexually dangerous, warned that Essie L. Billingslea had not completed sex offender treatment for his attraction to children and should not be freed from prison, according to documents obtained by the Herald.
“He has a history of deviant sexual interest involving underage female children. He has reported that he continues to experience objectification of children,” the panel reported in December 2012 — three months before a Suffolk jury freed Billingslea.

Once again here's evidence the public safety priorities in Cambridge, MA on property owned and operated by the President and Fellows of Harvard College, differs from next door Arlington MA. This gentlemen who took time from his busy schedule to allegedly invade a woman's home and rape her, a man with a known history of sex offenses and convictions, was known to local authorities. No one was watching him. No police, no crime families, no Communists and no Harvard University campus police. But a 70-year-old white man who the campus cops say is "crazy" is under 24/7 surveillance, harassment, ridicule, insults, humiliation, threats, provocations, and character assassination. So much for sane public safety policies.

Arlington School Compromise Violates State Law

Law breakers don't care about laws. Massachusetts public officials show their poor leadership skills in this case. Massachusetts state statute requires the pledge of allegiance every day, with fines for non compliance.

Mass General Laws
