NYC Man Charged With Fraud, Theft of A Home From Elder Woman

[From article]
The ex-con who allegedly filed a fake deed to steal an elderly woman’s Queens home was arrested Tuesday in Housing Court, where he was brazenly fighting eviction.
Darrell Beatty, 49, was charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property for allegedly illegally transferring the deed of a Laurelton home into his name and moving in with his two sons.

Merin’s Russian and Ukrainian grandparents moved into the row house on 141st Avenue in 1931 and raised three children there, including Merin’s mom.
“The house was maintained basically as a sanctuary to my family,” Merin told The Post, adding that she paid insurance, taxes and utility bills on the property and would visit every few months.

Imagine arriving at your own home and finding out a stranger is not only squatting there — he's claiming the place for himself.
That's the nightmare that an elderly New York City woman is living, and now she is fighting to get back the house that she says an ex-con stole from her by filing a fraudulent deed and breaking in.
'It just devastates me,' Jennifer Merin told the New York Post. 'The house was maintained basically as sanctuary to my family.'
Merin says that 49-year-old Darrell Beatty and his sons — Darrell Kash, 25, and DeShaun, 22 — have been living at the home in Queens since February.
She says Beatty filed a bogus deed and moved into the house, which Merin wasn't renting, then changed all the locks.

Woman says her home was 'stolen' by three con-artists who simply moved in and filed a deed with New York City - after the property had been in her family since 1931
Jennifer Merin discovered squatters had moved into her Queens home when she saw a spike in the vacant property's utility bill
She was horrified when she went to check: the locks had been changed and ex-con Darrell Beatty was living there with his sons
Beatty claims he bought the house from a woman who doesn't seem to exist
The Finance Department has since returned Merin's name to the deed, but she is still battling to remove the men from the house

What is the issue here? This is stealing, if the guy stole a car, (and he did or either sold her subaru) the cops would arrest him- everyone knows the deed filing is fraud! Why will it take years of bureaucratic paper pushers to do the obvious thing and seize this felon, put him and his sons behind bars until he gets his trial date and then he can be the one trying to prove wrongdoing. I am astounded at how passive the NYC democratically elected officials are treating this outrage. If a white person stole a black persons home like this, every race baiting, al sharpton, msnbc commentator, deblasios lesbo wife and obama kids, everyone would be up in arms. But she's unfortunately a taxpayer and white.
