Cambridge City Council Enhances Tech Access

Worshipping technology is bad enough. But focusing on high tech superfluous software systems for government exposes misguided elitist priorities. There's no end to fancy data delivery systems software companies can create. The Cambridge Chapter of the Spending Other People's Money Society wastes taxpayer money while human beings live in shelters, while persons with disabilities are denied access to government services. The People's Republic morphed into the City of Controlled Citizens. When will police be trained to protect citizens from criminal abuses of technology? Councilors who allegedly set policy are more concerned with enabling faster and sexier access to city departments. Telephones no longer work? Emails blocked? Maybe a study is needed to learn why so few people have respect for politicians?

[This letter was published in the print edition of the Cambridge Chronicle on Thursday May 10, 2012. On May 11, 2012 Cambridge police and Harvard University campus cops kept me under surveillance as I did errands. I have no evidence that it was a result of this letter being published.]
