Wasting Taxpayer Money in the Courts

Here is one of several wastes of taxpayer money. Whether this man is insane, sane, competent or not to stand trial, his trial will not begin for many months. That is when the issue of competence to stand trial becomes an issue. A second concern is if he is insane, whether or not he knew, knew not knows, the difference between right and wrong, that his act was wrong, to determine if he can be held legally responsible for the alleged act. Judges sending suspects to the psychiatric industry for processing when arrested is a waste of taxpayer funds. It provides a way for judges to avoid accountability and it provides jobs for the psychiatric industry. Lobbyists for the psychiatric industry easily persuaded legislators to write such laws because they are spending other people's money.
