Alcohol Ads

Proponents of a bill to restrict advertising say, "approximately 5000 people die annually as a result of underage drinking." Another problem promoted by journalists and politicians is to test older drivers because a few people die in accidents involving older drivers. Much space in newspapers and time on broadcast media is spent promoting these dangers.

Hardly any space and time is spent promoting 90,000 deaths in hospitals due to medical negligence, some as simple as not washing hands between patients or procedures.

Who sets priorities for journalists? Are major broadcast media like politicians? Do they prioritize issues based upon who gives most consideration? Are journalists bought as easily as politicians?
