Amy Bishop's Parents Remain Silent

Gelzinis says, "Judith Bishop could have trusted [the justice system] to provide her daughter with the kind of mental health treatment that, in the long run, might have done more to stabilize Amy’s life." Why the misguided belief that psychiatry would help her daughter? Drugs are known to cause violence. Most of the high school shooters were taking or stopped taking psychiatric drugs. Journalists lack awareness that psychiatry is a business backed by the drug industry and deep-pocketed PACs. Perhaps the daughter was taking psychiatric drugs. Perhaps they caused her long history of violence. Psychiatry is no panacea. It is as problematic as the courts.
