I Can't Control Myself

I Can't Control Myself

Bill Sanderson reports psychological diagnoses sight unseen. Is this remote viewing? (Bill Sanderson, "Fiend lost long war with his demons," New York Post, October 3, 2006) Pompous psychologists speculate on why a man they never met committed a crime. Dr. Marylene Cloitre of NYU says "It seems he was very aware of his impulses." As opposed to slightly aware? Is "seems" a scientific standard?
TV Shrink Keith Ablow says, "It may be the case -- it's not clear yet -- " It's not clear that he ate too many Twinkies either. Why not wait until the fog clears?
Dr. Anie Kalayjian, Fordham psychologist says "He may have suffered because of stigma involved in seeking psychiatric aid." Yes and that is why he shot ten children! She urges "community leaders and religious figures to watch for signs" and to report them to "mental health practitioners." Is this so that the police do not stop the violence before the psychiatrists can prescribe drugs? No wonder there is so much stigma in seeking help from these visionaries.
The New York Post wastes ink printing this nonsense. Based upon what are these personal opinions any more reliable than that of Paris Hilton? At least she has the wisdom not to make them. Here are more scientific indications, as if any were needed, showing how arbitrary and capricious psychiatry and psychology is.
