Recent history shows the wisdom of the City Council. They approved a $31 million library which cost $91 million to build. There was no clock in the building. The doors still do not work properly after 17 months being open. The building looks like Harvard's OIT which was torn down for the CGIS Terra Cotta brick monstrosity loved by chief architect Harry Cobb. Cambridge's new library looks like a building designed by architects for architects. For $375,000 I'll be an expert too. Can the design experts for Kendall Square do any worse than this? Did Mr. Obama teach the City Councilors that more taxpayer money is needed for more experts? Or did they come up with that pattern of spending other people's money themselves?

The War Against the Jews Goes On
The latest Palestinian violence against Israelis, and the continuing abandonment of Israel by most of the international community, inevitably bring to mind the abandonment of the Jews during the Holocaust. Just this past week, a document emerged which raises disturbing new questions about President Franklin Roosevelt’s response to the Nazi mass murder of Europe’s Jews.
The document was brought to my attention by Dr. Rafael Medoff, a Holocaust scholar and director of The David S. Wyman Institute for Holocaust Studies, in Washington, DC. Several years ago, Dr. Medoff collaborated with me on my book “The Koch Papers: My Fight Against Anti-Semitism.” It was based on my writings and speeches about the Holocaust and anti-Semitism, during the course of my nine years in Congress and twelve as mayor of New York City.
The document which Dr. Medoff sent me last week, concerning FDR and the Holocaust, was frankly shocking. It had to do with the Allies’ occupation of North Africa, which they liberated from the Nazis in November 1942. At the time, President Roosevelt publicly pledged the Allies would do away with the anti-Jewish laws that had been in force in the region. But when FDR met in Casablanca with local government leaders in January 1943, he took a very different line. The transcript of those discussions, which Dr. Medoff cites, reveals what FDR said about the status of the 330,000 Jews living in Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia: “The number of Jews engaged in the practice of the professions (law, medicine, etc) should be definitely limited to the percentage that the Jewish population in North Africa bears to the whole of the North African population...The President stated that his plan would further eliminate the specific and understandable complaints which the Germans bore toward the Jews in Germany, namely, that while they represented a small part of the population, over fifty percent of the lawyers, doctors, school teachers, college professors, etc., in Germany, were Jews.”
Hard to believe a president would say such a thing? Maybe, but the source is unimpeachable: the transcript appears in Foreign Relations of the United States, a multivolume series of historical documents published by the U.S. government itself. The Casablanca volume was published in 1968, but did not attract much notice at the time. Dr. Medoff has done a public service by bringing it to our attention again.
Fortunately, U.S. policy in occupied North Africa in the end did not follow FDR’s line. When it became clear that the administration was stalling on getting rid of the old anti-Jewish laws, American Jewish leaders loudly protested. (If only they had been so vocal throughout the Holocaust years!) One of the most memorable critiques came from Benzion Netanyahu --father of Israel’s current prime minister-- who in those days headed up the American wing of the Revisionist Zionist movement: “The spirit of the Swastika hovers over the Stars and Stripes,” he wrote. The protests eventually forced the White House to back down. North African Jews were gradually released from forced-labor camps and the anti-Jewish quotas and other laws were rescinded.
The American Jewish community reveres the memory of FDR. He will always be remembered and rightly so for leading us through the Great Depression and is responsible for this country not ending up in the column of fascist nations, as did Germany and Italy.
We had 25 percent unemployment in a nation of 132 million. We had Father Coughlin and Charles Lindbergh beating the drums of fascism and support of Adolf Hitler and his ideas, particularly those blaming the Jews of the world for the ills of the world. We had the German-American Bund led by Fritz Kuhn in Yorkville with signs stating “No Jews Allowed.” I saw such signs as a small boy on the beaches of Coney Island.
And, of course, FDR led us to victory in World War II. So the feelings of support for him held by much of the country’s Jewish citizens was highest then and still among the highest for his memory. To this day, Jews overwhelmingly support the Democratic Party. The Jewish community gave President Barack Obama 78 percent of its vote in the presidential election in 2008.
I appreciate FDR’s contributions to the survival of our country. At the same time, I have never forgiven him for his refusal to grant haven to the 937 Jewish passengers on the SS St. Louis, who after fleeing Nazi Germany had been turned away from Cuba and hovered off the coast of Florida. The passengers were returned to Europe, and many were ultimately murdered in the Nazi concentration camps before World War II ended. I have said that I believe he is not in heaven, but in purgatory, being punished for his abandonment of the Jews. The concept of purgatory is Catholic. I am a secular Jew, but I am a believer in God and the hereafter, and I like this Catholic concept. The Casablanca document reinforces my conviction that President Roosevelt was, at heart, not particularly sympathetic to the plight of the Jews.
Today, the war against the Jews continues. While Palestinian terrorists murder Israeli children in their beds and fire rockets into Israeli towns, the international community rages against Israel. To his credit, President Barack Obama vetoed the recent United Nations Security Council resolution condemning Israel--yet in the same breath, the administration spokeswoman and U.N. ambassador emphasized the U.S. agreed with the substance of that one-sided resolution. That’s no way to treat an ally.
Why can’t Jews live on the West Bank? More than one million Arabs live in Israel now, about 20 percent of its population. When Israel and the Palestinian Authority settle their differences, shouldn’t Jews be able to choose to live in the new Palestinian state as citizens, or at least resident aliens? I don’t see why not.
Of course, Israel has made mistakes in its dealings with the Palestinians. The Israelis are no less human in that respect than other nations, including ours. But the intransigence, unwillingness to compromise, is far greater on the part of the Palestinian leaders, who fear for their lives threatened by the Arab radicals, fundamentalists and terrorists. Where are the Arab voices of moderation? I don’t hear them. But I do hear the voices of those threatening the destruction of Israel, of those seeking to delegitimatize Israel at the United Nations.
Yes, the war against the Jews is still going on, 66 years after World War II. But, thank God, there is now a Jewish state that will not be cowed and will do what is necessary to protect the Jewish people.

They recruit new members for its witness protection program, the largest organized crime family in the history of the world. Misguided Priorities
Do police keep the wrong people under surveillance? For 40 years one activist is under 24/7 surveillance, harassment and character assassination by police and FBI. Yet this charming fellow was left alone to do his life's work. Sending military forces to assist political activists in Libya sounds about right for this administration. US citizens are never abused by government criminals, who need to be free to conduct their business.

You've raised a critically important point that is not sinking in with respect to innocents abused by surveillance while criminals are ignored. A key element of this has to do with economics on a personal and national scale. Those who cannot do a proper job as individuals concentrate on the innocent easy targets just like terrorists in order to fake it to make it. On the grand scale oil is at the heart of Libya not human rights. That oil is critically important to Europe and the overall world oil price. The stability sought in dictators for oil supply has been lost in Libya's Colonel Gaddafi who has gone berserk. He would destroy his own country and who knows what he would do with the oil now.

There is also an alternate government at work in the US and elsewhere hidden under the guise of intelligence, protection against terrorism, state security and law enforcement. The Washington Post exposed this last summer as Top Secret America with a revolving door between the military and civilian security activity. These people have to earn a living when they get out of the military at all levels, and they have no skills. They can carry out surveillance in conjunction with law enforcement however. What do they do? They fake it against innocents to make it and ignore the real criminals. They are fraudsters seeking to milk the system.
In a very strange and quite complex way this all fits together under greed, glory and power where those without skills can make a living and wealth by faking it. It is quite independent of the elected government and out of control by either Democrats or Republicans. I've been one of these surveillance targets in London by former US Marines who fake it to make it since February 2001. I thought Obama's election would change this. Nope. He is caught in it and cannot establish standards just as he cannot close Guatanamo since it is such a mess now. He has to go along with the alternate government created by the US military and the intelligence community.
I have the very same complaint you voiced: why aren't these efforts and sophisticated surveillance tools being used against real criminals instead of being used against the innocent by people who are criminals themselves? Going to Libya under the guise of ensuring some form of democracy results is just an option for keeping the oil supply open in the future because Gaddafi has gone off the deep end. Against his people, yes, but also against the economic interest of the West and world.
The common denominator in all of this is the abuse of power for self serving reasons which is at the heart of misuse of surveillance and even the ultimate objective for the action in Libya. Humans still operate on the basis of self interest. The question is: are we moving away from this toward altruistic motivations and objectives in a meaningful way? I don't know yet. I'll let you know if the indefinite surveillance torture abuse against me stops. There's no reason for this to be done at all.

Misguided Liberal Speechifiers
Margery Eagan wonders if Bachman is the brightest bulb in the GOP. Everyone knows that Eagan is not the brightest bulb when it comes to political punditry. Eagan joins worshipers of Barry Obama, who worships intelligence and credentials. Obama lacks the characteristics admired by most Americans -- integrity and common sense. These FBI agents should all be investigated for the same kind of criminal abuses that Connolly specialized in, in Boston. It shows that the FBI remains as dirty as it was with Connolly and Rico and still needs cleansing. Misguided Police Priorities
Here is another charming individual who was free from police surveillance. Yet for 40 years FBI dirt bags and police dirt bags keep me under surveillance, harass me and broadcast character assassination. Is there any doubt among awake citizens that the states and US government are run by criminals? Before being shot dead after trying to run down police officers, he had a girlfriend and four children and was allowed to work.

Limited Diversity at Harvard
Not only low income students but also students with disabilities are ignored by the diversity police lobby. More importantly since this is an "international" issue, white people make up 16 percent of the world population. Why are they denied minority status and affirmative action privileges? Has anyone at Harvard ever thought about tolerating diversity of opinion? Why is it that children of highly educated, politically connected, often wealthy parents are the ones who benefit from affirmative action and diversity programs?

Psychiatry as Excuse for Violence
Under what system of jurisprudence does having a "first potential psychotic break" create immunity from criminal laws? Lawyers regularly use alleged disabilities to escape criminal liability for wealthy clients. Making Crime Into a Disability
The psychiatric industry successfully lobbied the state to allow mixing criminals with persons accused of mental illness. Forced treatment is punishment meted out by the courts, which increases the client base of the psychiatric boondoggle. Psychiatrists claim superior knowledge and morality. They are greedy charlatans masquerading as scientists. Some chemicals pushed as medicine by taxpayer funded human services providers are the cause of violence. Even the drug-company-controlled FDA requires warnings on these drugs. Intense scrutiny of the psychiatric industry is needed to stop the criminal abuses. The MA DMH is run by the drug industry promoting drug treatment. There is no benefit to the taxpayer. Only the drug companies and their pill-pusher psychiatrists benefit from the DMH. Time to close it down. Put criminals in jail and leave the accused persons with disabilities alone.

Police, FBI and Crime Families Work Together
After experiencing 40 years of criminal harassment, character assassination, thefts and denial of many basic rights guaranteed to American citizens I conclude, police, FBI and crime families work together.
In 1973 government psychiatrists working at Harvard University drugged me using hallucinogens for 80 consecutive days. I was not a patient of any physician, nor did I volunteer for any human experiments. This was done because someone at Harvard believed that I was a spy. For two years I was unable to function. For 15 years the FBI used me to fight organized crime. They never paid me one cent. They did broadcast many false and defamatory allegations repeated for 35 years. The allegations were used by local police and the crime families who work with them to justify punishing me over and over again and again for the allegations. In 1988 the FBI abandoned me to two of their criminals in the witness protection program trying to get me to change my name and join them.
For 30 years these two FBI criminals (who said they were my friends) were highly paid by government criminals covering up what they did to me. Among the charming things they said about me was that I was a retired drug dealer. The FBI stirred up racial animosity, which was believed and acted on by no less than city officials, Harvard University professors, their campus cops and administrators.
At the same time other crime families and their police associates conducted total 24/7 surveillance, sleep deprivation, and brutal criminal harassment as I did errands and tried to create video productions. Tampering with my computer (second only to criminal psychiatric abuses) is a favored form of criminal harassment. This is one of many felonies committed by police criminals who work for Harvard and the local city government. In 1973 government psychiatrists working at Harvard University drugged me using hallucinogens for 80 consecutive days. I was not a patient of any physician, nor did I volunteer for any human experiments. This was done because someone at Harvard believed that I was a spy. For two years I was unable to function. For 15 years the FBI used me to fight organized crime. They never paid me one cent. They did broadcast many false and defamatory allegations repeated for 35 years. The allegations were used by local police and the crime families who work with them to justify punishing me over and over again and again for the allegations. In 1988 the FBI abandoned me to two of their criminals in the witness protection program trying to get me to change my name and join them.
For 30 years these two FBI criminals (who said they were my friends) were highly paid by government criminals covering up what they did to me. Among the charming things they said about me was that I was a retired drug dealer. The FBI stirred up racial animosity, which was believed and acted on by no less than city officials, Harvard University professors, their campus cops and administrators.
At the same time other crime families and their police associates conducted total 24/7 surveillance, sleep deprivation, and brutal criminal harassment as I did errands and tried to create video productions. Tampering with my computer (second only to criminal psychiatric abuses) is a favored form of criminal harassment. This is one of many felonies committed by police criminals who work for Harvard and the local city government. Disability At Harvard
Did anyone ask Mr. Glassman how many lawsuits the Disability Law Center filed on behalf of their clients? There are numerous lobbyists and technology providers eager to sell equipment to lawyers. Many legal advocates petition the legislature. Few lawyers who are paid as attorneys actually litigate to bring improved lives for persons with disabilities. That is why their status in society remains low. Even rehabilitation services organizations direct disabled persons into unskilled jobs. One wonders why with all of the thousands of taxpayer funded programs to address discrimination toward black people in America and especially at Harvard and in Cambridge why aren't persons with disabilities allowed to have a one-day event solely for their benefit?

US Government Is Run By and For Upper Class Elitists
Here are the priorities of the US Government. Yale women are offended. A court or some PC lawyer will decide that. Why does this merit the attention of the US government ahead of a large group of non Ivy League citizens who are denied basic rights, like access to the courts, access to public accommodations? The Yale students filed complaints anonymously. Isn't that special? Every day in most main stream newspapers journalists write that a man or woman with a history of mental illness is charged with this or that crime. That is hate speech. It reinforces the pervasive negative stereotype of persons accused of mental illness. It is easier to accuse a person of that than it is to file an anonymous complaint with the Department of Justice or Education. But aside from persons accused of mental illness, there is a large group of US citizens who are unable to use the public sidewalks after snowstorms. But the US Department of Civil Rights is never interested in that. This verifies my observation that the people who exploit discrimination laws are upper class, wealthy and politically connected elitists. Recently a group of Harvard and Yale alumni complained about a party at a bar in Boston which shut down early due to fears of violence. The MA Attorney General and the Boston City Council took up the matter. People are denied basic rights to be heard in courts due to unlawful discrimination of judges and lawyers. That remains unaddressed by the very same Attorney General, the same US Department of Justice and the same City Council. Here is one, only one example of the double standard of the government, the sheer hypocrisy of these upper class elitist pigs. They indicate that they have no shame, just like the politicians who run the state and US legislatures, and executive branches.

Obama Secretly Sends CIA to Identify the Libyan Rebels
The Libya operation really appears to be directed by the Marx Brothers. 2200 Marines and Sailors are being sent off the coast of Libya. (As reported by ABC news Raleigh-Durham NC.) But there are no plans to put troops on the ground. But then CIA special operations will be sent to find out who the rebels are. Now that the US bombed Tripoli without Congressional approval, now they want to find out who the rebels are? Like I said to a friend of mine. I have more common sense than Obama has, and more integrity.

Police Watch Civilians and Ignore Dangerous Criminals
“What’s missing here is — who’s watching?” said resident John Kiger. It is a matter of priorities. It is not that police do not watch civilians. They have a higher priority watching activists for personal and for political purposes. They do not watch dangerous violent criminals who have lengthy rap sheets. How many employees of WGBH have a disability? What evidence is there that WGBH does not discriminate against persons with disabilities in hiring and in programming on-air content? Aside from allowing people with disabilities onto the property to volunteer what actual activities regarding television production and broadcasting does WGBH allow persons with disabilities to participate equally to other citizens and non documented workers?

Censoring Journalism
Police visited reporter to tell him not to bother students at Blackburn College while investigating an allegation of racism by a democratic official in IL. No complaint was filed. It appears that this was simply intimidation by police to discourage revealing the
incident. Vinfen Corporation is the largest provider of human services in the New England states. Their President earned in 2003 $325,000 plus benefits. I called inquire why his salary was so high. The Last City Council Meeting
This report is about the last Cambridge City Council meeting I attended. I stopped going when the chairman demanded that I remove a sign as described in the article. (Note: There is no smiley face. It is the word NOW inside of a circle.) The Council has rules and they ignore them. I repeatedly requested that they follow their own rules to no avail. When they began enforcing the rules against me while they ignored them I realized it was time to look for other ways to draw attention to lawless officials. This city is like Guatemala.

Lawyer Murdered in Guatemala
I read this story just after reading one in New York magazine about Alex Jones. Jones was disparaged as the leader of conspiracists. But the story about reality in Guatemala makes Jones seem like a normal human being. Reality is more bizarre than fiction. I see many parallels with groups in the US, operating as they do in Guatemala.

"Criminal networks have infiltrated virtually every government and law-enforcement agency, and more than half the country is no longer believed to be under the control of any government at all.
[. . .]
Incredibly, the death rate in Guatemala is now higher than it was for much of the civil war. And there is almost absolute impunity: ninety-seven per cent of homicides remain unsolved, the killers free to kill again. In 2007, a U.N. official declared, “Guatemala is a good place to commit a murder, because you will almost certainly get away with it.”

In 2007, Colom, representing a social-democratic coalition, won the Presidency—the first time in five decades that a left-of-center leader had ruled Guatemala. The election was one of the bloodiest in the country’s history: more than fifty local candidates and party activists were murdered, and Colom’s campaign manager was nearly killed by three grenades thrown at his motorcade.

Since Colom took power, two of his interior ministers have been indicted for corruption (a third died in a mysterious helicopter crash), and four consecutive heads of the national police have been dismissed, indicted, or jailed for alleged malfeasance.

In the nineteen-fifties, the C.I.A. had contemplated an assassination campaign against left-wing Guatemalan targets and disseminated a treatise on the art of political murder: “The subject may be stunned or drugged and then placed in the car, but this is only reliable when the car can be run off a high cliff or into deep water without observation.”

Castresana realized that he could not bring criminals to justice before he had removed at least some of the most corrupt officials.

Castresana seized upon a rule in CICIG’S charter that permitted the organization to petition local officials to punish unethical officials. Through this process, his team began to remove more than fifteen hundred corrupt police officers, including fifty police commissioners and the deputy director of the national police. CICIG also “invited” nearly a dozen prominent prosecutors to leave their posts,

Anita Isaacs, a political scientist and an expert on Guatemala, who knows Castresana, told me that the networks traditionally relied on three ways to remove an enemy: “The first is to bribe you—but they could not bribe Castresana. The second is to kill you—but they could not kill Castresana. Finally, if all else fails, they destroy your reputation. And that is what they did to Castresana.”

At a press conference announcing his decision, Castresana, in a final salvo, denounced Colom’s new Attorney General for alleged ties to “parallel powers,” including organized crime.

following statement in response to Sarver's criticism of the new law:

opposes AZ's new immigration laws. Arizona's Governor, Jan Brewer, released the
following statement in response to Sarver's criticism of the new law:
What if the owners of the Suns discovered that hordes of people
were sneaking into games without paying? What if they had a good idea who the gate-crashers are, but the ushers and security personnel were not allowed to ask
these folks to produce their ticket stubs, thus non-paying attendees couldn't be ejected. Furthermore, what if Suns' ownership was expected to provide
those who sneaked in with complimentary eats and drink? And
what if, on those days when a gate-crasher became ill or
injured, the Suns had to provide free medical care and shelter?"

Ridiculing What is Real, Typical Liberal Cluelessness
Ridiculing Dan Severenson saying there is no such thing as separation of church and state shows how clueless the author is. Nowhere in the US Constitution is there any such thing. Separation of church and state is a creation of liberals promoted by the ACLU. The US was created as a Christian nation that tolerates other religions unlike some other countries which prohibit other religions than the state religion. Department of Justice Moves to Protect Medicaid Defrauders: Court Sets Hearing for April 7th
Due to the massive amount of harm inflicted on children and youth, in July of 2009, the Law Project for Psychiatric Rights (PsychRights®) launched its Medicaid Fraud Initiative with a model Qui Tam Complaint for people to use around the country. This initiative combines Medicaid's coverage restriction of outpatient drugs to those that are for a "medically accepted indication" and the right of people to sue on behalf of the government and share in the recover, if any under the False Claims Act.
The Department of Justice has recovered billions of dollars from drug companies for causing false claims at Step 1 of the Fraudulent Scheme, but have declined intervention involving defendants at Steps 2 & 3 in two Alaska cases, as well as the ex rel Nicholson case in Illinois.[1]
In a surprising action, however, on March 7th, the Department of Justice actively moved to protect alleged defrauding defendants at Steps 2 & 3 by asking the judge to dismiss the ex rel Nicholson case for what appears to be disingenuous reasons. Randy Kretchmar, Ms. Nicholson's attorney, said, "We have offered to address their concerns through agreement and they have thus far failed to respond. This reinforces the view stated in our opposition that the motion to dismiss is disingenuous."
As background, in 2007-2008, there were two suspicious letters on the letterhead of the agency charged with administering the Medicaid program, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), that assert Congress did not limit outpatient drug coverage under Medicaid to those used for a medically accepted indication.[2] This is directly contrary to the formal position of the United States Government, taken in a number of False Claims Act cases against drug companies.[3]
Law Project for Psychiatric Rights president Jim Gottstein in speaking with a US Attorney was told that even though they are false claims, the government would decline to intervene in that jurisdiction if a case was brought against a doctor or pharmacy as a matter of prosecutorial discretion. In the Alaska cases, the local US Attorney's office appeared to be taking its direction from CMS.
In light of this, PsychRights asked Eric Pruitt, the Assistant United States Attorney who filed the motion to dismiss on behalf of the United States Government, the following questions:
- Why shouldn't it be concluded the Department of Justice and CMS are protecting prescribers and pharmacies for their participation in this continuing massive fraudulent scheme?
- Does CMS take the position that prescriptions not for a medically accepted indication are covered under Medicaid?
- Is CMS calling the shots on the Department of Justice's response to the qui tam cases against prescribers and pharmacies for causing and presenting false claims to Medicaid for psychotropic drugs used on children and youth that are not for a medically accepted indication?
- Do the Department of Justice and CMS consider only the economic point, i.e., the drug companies have deeper pockets, or are they attempting to make an independent judgment that somehow psychiatrists and pharmacists are less culpable for the same fraud?
- Even if so, why is CMS still paying these false claims on a massive scale?
Mr. Pruitt declined to answer, saying "We do not comment on pending cases:"
In response, Mr. Gottstein said, "The public is entitled to know the answers to these questions. Obtaining large recoveries from drug companies is an ineffective sanction, because the fraudulent prescribing practices are continuing unabated. It appears the Department of Justice is now actively protecting doctors and pharmacies committing Medicaid Fraud ."
The court has set a hearing on the government's motion for April 7th at 9:25 am, Room 1725, 219 S. Dearborn, Chicago, Illinois.

Lawyer Arrested for Laundering Money
How genuine is it that "Boston’s legal A-listers [were] floored by yesterday’s arrest of [attorney Robert A. George charged with laundering drug money] and stunned by the idea?" To them laundering money is different from selling or transporting drugs. Lawyers, bankers, ordinary people make that distinction every day. Surely the legal community is aware of that. It is hard to believe that A-listers (who makes that list?) are shocked by this arrest. What is shocking is that so few lawyers, bankers professionals are arrested for laundering money.
