Sports As a Diversion

This discussion sounds like it was run by the ruling class. Oh you say, Harvard educates children of the ruling class? Did anyone consider that sports is a way of keeping the herd bewildered as Noam Chomsky says? Is it pageantry to divert attention from the affairs of state where upper class elites steal taxpayer funds and keep each other in lifestyles to which they have become accustomed?
