Cambridge, MA Millionaires For Kasich, Not Trump

Michael "I'm a billionaire too" Bloomberg

Not that the Boston Globe is unreliable, ah, but the official results are available from the Cambridge election commission. Do Globe reporters get more accurate results? The explanation for Kasich's win is the great number of tech millionaire Republicans (or are they millionaire Democrats voting in the open primary) in Cambridge who oppose Trump. They are meeting to try to stop the New York developer.

Millionaires on Medicaid. Thanks, Obama

More evidence of misguided priorities of state, local and federal government. But also private university administrators and crime families. Over forty five years of brutal criminal harassment, the social security administration demanded I prove that I did not have over $2,000 in resources about ten times. It was a form of harassment joining relentless character assassination and sleep deprivation all of which continues today. Did they ever check the millionaires?

[From article]
Millionaires living in states that expanded Medicaid are benefiting from government-sponsored health insurance, and taxpayers are footing the bill for it.
In states that expanded Medicaid, people with high net worths and low monthly incomes qualify for Medicaid because of loosened eligibility requirements implemented under Obamacare. And in rural states like Iowa, Americans whom many would consider wealthy are taking advantage of this “loophole” and enrolling in coverage paid for by taxpayers.
Jesse Patton, an insurance broker living in Iowa, has had clients with net worths ranging from $2 million to $5 million, which often stem from farmland or assets from divorce settlements. And those clients, he said, are enrolled in Medicaid in expansion states like Iowa.
“It was designed to help the lower-income population,” Patton told The Daily Signal of Medicaid. “But without the asset test, there are folks that have the financial means and assets there that are good at figuring out how to work the system and capture a benefit they’re entitled to.”
Under the Affordable Care Act, states that opted to expand Medicaid did away with an asset test, which was previously used to determine eligibility in regular Medicaid. To qualify for the program, the government considered a combination of income and net worth.
Now, under the law, eligibility in states that did and did not expand Medicaid is linked solely to modified adjusted gross income, keeping it in line with the tax code.
[. . .]
“It’s distorting the program away from those whom it was designed to help who are most vulnerable and don’t have other options,” Haislmaier said. “Unlike the farmer or divorcĂ©e who could cover it out of dipping into their substantial assets, or the graduate student who could cover it through student loans or a part-time job, the poor kid or the disabled adult, don’t have those options. They’re the ones whom Medicaid was set up for.”
[. . .]
“It has introduced new inequities into the system,” he said.

Cambridge, MA Fireman Wins $1 million on TV Show Survivor

Jeremy Collins, Cambridge, MA Fireman, with his wife and children

[From article]
Christmas came early this year for Jeremy Collins, a Cambridge firefighter who won the $1-million-dollar prize on the television game show, “Survivor, Second Chance” on Dec. 16.
This was the second go-around for Collins, who previously competed on the 29th season of “Survivor: San Juan Del Sur—Blood vs. Water” in 2014. Collins competed with his wife of 10 years, Val, but both were eliminated and didn’t reach the finals that year.
But that wasn’t the case this time around, as Collins made it all the way with fellow finalists Tasha Fox and Spencer Bledsoe.
In the final episode the trio went before a jury of 10 contestants who were previously voted off during the game. In the end, all 10 jury members voted for Collins, according to show host Jeff Probst.
[. . .]

"As many in America witnessed, he carries himself with grace and dignity,” said Cambridge Fire Chief Gerald Reardon in a written statement. “He is focused on the task at hand and that's what we are used to seeing in the Fire Department. All of us in the Cambridge Fire Department couldn't be happier for Jeremy, his wife, Val, and their beautiful family.”

Harvard Business School Grad Fugitive From Charges of Theft of $65 million

Iftikar Ahmed and his wife, Shalini, in 2012. He is a fugitive and believed to be in India.  Photo: No credit

[From article]
A boyish 43 years old, Iftikar Ahmed ticked every box of the immigrant success story, going from Harvard Business School to Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and then landing as a partner at one of the oldest venture-capital firms in the country. He and his wife owned a mansion in Greenwich, Conn., and two apartments on Park Avenue in Manhattan, and gave large sums to local and Indian charities.
Yet before Mr. Ahmed fled the U.S. in May, he allegedly stole $65 million through a series of frauds that prosecutors and regulators said became increasingly brazen over the years and that exploited the trust-based culture of the venture-capital firm, Oak Investment Partners. Regulators said Mr. Ahmed began to commit fraud within months of joining Oak in 2004.
[. . .]

In December, Mr. Ahmed persuaded fellow Oak partners they should pay $20 million for a $2 million stake in a Hong Kong-based online retailer, pocketing the $18 million difference, the government alleged.
[. . .]

Oak executives later testified that they didn’t learn of the actual $2 million sale price until after Mr. Ahmed’s arrest, even though the seller disclosed it in a news release, according to court filings and people familiar with the matter. Oak executives said they also found Mr. Ahmed had massaged financial projections for the Hong Kong company, adding a “1” in front of the revenue figure, to make its sales appear far healthier than they were, according to court documents.
[. . .]

After Mr. Ahmed was arrested in May on federal insider-trading charges, he surrendered U.S. and Indian passports, according to court records. In May, he fled the country using an expired passport, according to court documents. He is now a fugitive. Mr. Ahmed couldn’t be reached for comment.
Mr. Ahmed is believed to be in India, according to his lawyer, Alex Lipman. The former executive needs authorities’ permission to leave India, after being held in prison for 61 days until July 23 for allegedly entering the country illegally, Mr. Lipman said. He faces a prison sentence of up to 20 years in the U.S. if convicted of insider trading.[. . .]

A spokesman for Oak Management Corp., which operates as Oak Investment Partners, said in a statement an internal probe had found Mr. Ahmed was a “rogue employee” who repeatedly circumvented the firm’s policies and procedures.[. . .]

Born in India, Mr. Ahmed graduated from the elite Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi before getting an M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School. He and his wife, Shalini Ahmed, were prominent figures in Connecticut’s close-knit and wealthy Indian-American community.
According to court testimony in the SEC case, Mrs. Ahmed said she met her husband in 1999 when he was working at Goldman Sachs in a group that invested money on behalf of the firm. She told the court that when she heard the allegations against Mr. Ahmed: “I was shocked. I was stunned. That was not my husband.”
[. . .]
Mr. Ahmed used fake invoices for frauds totaling more than $20 million involving at least four companies, according to the SEC.
[. . .]
In April 2013, Mr. Ahmed was diagnosed with cancer following an operation, according to court testimony from his wife, who didn’t give any details of the illness.
[. . .]

Meanwhile, Mr. Ahmed’s wife is fighting criminal charges of money laundering filed against her and her husband in August tied to the alleged frauds. In the weeks after Mr. Ahmed was arrested on insider-trading charges, she completed the $8.6 million cash purchase of a Manhattan apartment and tried to transfer about $250,000 to India, prosecutors said. The fraud, insider-trading and money-laundering cases are continuing.

Black, Latino, Elite Politician Multi Millionaire Whiners Make For Hilarious Complaints

[From article]
Brandon Marshall, the New York Jets wide receiver and occasional sports commentator, charges that the National Football League is racist. He alleges that the league favors white players over black athletes like him, especially white marquee quarterbacks.
Aside from the fact that Marshall recently signed a three-year contract for $27 million — and, for example, African-American lineman Marcell Dareus just concluded a contract extension with the Buffalo Bills for six years at $100 million — examine Marshall’s whimper in light of the demography of the National Football League.
Currently, African-Americans comprise about 12% of the population. Yet they make up about 67% of the current meritocratic, but allegedly racist NFL roster. In the quota parlance of affirmative action engineering, they are “overrepresented” in one of America’s most prestigious and compensated industries at over five times their percentages in the general population. Nor are blacks just the purported grunts on the battlefield of the league; they make up 16% of the head coaches and 24% of the league’s general managers.
[. . .]
Whatever — but it is hard to figure out how an African-American multimillionaire (e.g., $9 million per annum in compensation) could complain that being black proves a burden in the present-day NFL. Perhaps Marshall might have been paid $10 million per year?
His writ is about as absurd as empathizing with Oprah because she once alleged that a white clerk at the zillionaire Swiss Trois Pommes boutique neither immediately acknowledged her celebrity status nor showed her quickly enough a $38,000 Tom Ford crocodile-skin purse on the shelf. Hence was born “handbag racism.”

Multi Billionaire Oprah Winfrey, Focusing Her Anger At Deprivation On a Retail Clerk

[. . .]
Univision newsman Jorge Ramos recently disrupted a Donald Trump news conference to recite yet another litany of supposedly ethnically insensitive attitudes shown toward Latinos who enter the U.S. illegally. Ramos has crafted a lucrative career by blurring the line between journalist and pundit activist, and by damning U.S. immigration law and the unfairness and inhospitality of the United States toward illegal immigrants. Note that naturalized citizen Ramos left Mexico to immigrate to America, ostensibly because what he routinely can now say in the United States would have landed him in jail in Mexico — in the manner that should Americans enter Mexico illegally in the way Mexicans cross the border into the U.S., they would be jailed, then summarily deported at best and at worst serve prison time for a variety of crimes, among which spelled out in the Mexican Constitution would be altering the racial essence of Mexican demography.

Ramos has parlayed his carping at the perceived unfairness of his adopted country into becoming the highest paid journalist in the world at a reported $75 million a year, paid out by the Spanish-language television corporation owned by a non-Latino Los Angeles billionaire.
[. . .]
The cult of the whining victim is now ubiquitous. Two high-school football players in Texas, angry that their team is losing and galvanized by their whining coach, decide to take out a referee and smash him with two cowardly hits. The reason? They claim the flattened ref got what he deserved — because of course he was a racist.
[. . .]
In the logic of whining, Michael Brown did not commit a felony or two in the last minutes of his life, from strong-armed robbery to assaulting a police officer, but was instead begging for his life with “hands up” and shouting “don’t shoot.”
[. . .]

The poor man in the inner city has more computing power in his palm with an Apple smartphone than did the billionaire twenty years ago in his study — but, of course, not as versatile a phone perhaps as that of today’s billionaire, and thus he can legitimately whine that life is not fair due to the machinations of someone else.
The bane of our age is not poverty but parity, or rather the perceived absence of a state-mandated equality of result.
[. . .]
The Obama administration mastered this natural trait of privileged scapegoating. For the first six years of Obama’s administration, all supposed achievement was Obama’s; every confirmed failure was the legacy of Emmanuel Goldstein, aka ex-President George W. Bush.

Poor Mrs. Clinton. She was misled about her server, or did not want a handful of clumsy duplicative communication devices or did nothing improper or at least nothing illegal, or at least nothing indictable, or at least differently from past secretaries of State, or never sent classified material, or at least never material that was stamped officially confidential. Who then caused this scandal? The New York Times, Fox News, the right-wingers, the Republicans, or the Clinton-haters.

Chelsea Clinton demanded $65,000 to make a 10-minute speech at a public university after they balked at her mother's appearance fee, it has been revealed.
The University of Missouri at Kansas City was looking for a celebrity to open their women's hall of fame in February 2014.
Their initial choice was former Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
But when they were told how much it would cost - $275,000 - they turned it down and went to what they thought was the next best thing.

Wife Of Multi-Millionaire Athlete Sues For Discrimination

Philippa Okoye, Sues "Sexist and Racist" Boss

[From article]
The wife of an NFL player says she worked in a real-life “Wolf of Wall Street’’ office where co-workers sexually harassed her and openly mocked her marriage to a black man.
[. . .]
Higher-up Benjamin Alderson “made it known that he wanted to model [their] office on the ‘Boiler Room’ and ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ films,’’ Philippa’s suit says.
“In those films, employees of male-dominated investment firms used highly offensive language and engaged in extremely inappropriate conduct, including sexual harassment and drug and alcohol use in the workplace.”
Philippa says she was the only woman in the Midtown office when she was hired as a senior investment adviser in October 2013.
Surrounded by about 21 male co-workers, she was exposed to sexist antics the first day, she said.
“So can you handle the banter or are you going to be a woman about it and be sensitive?’’ Alderson snipped, she said.

NYC Mistress Sues For Breach of Promise of Manhattan Millionaire

[From article]
A married Manhattan multimillionaire thought he could buy his mistress’ silence for $32,500.
He was wrong.
Following a romp in the Pierre Hotel, Robert Rosenkranz, the 72-year-old CEO of the $10 billion Delphi Financial Group, slipped a check for that amount into a birthday card he handed to his illicit lover, Katherine Nelson, she claims in a lawsuit.
The notation on the check marked it as a “final payment” for a “binding agreement” — a nondisclosure agreement about their four-year affair — which she says she unknowingly signed three months earlier.
[. . .]

Rosenkranz handed her a seven-paragraph “contract” with the assurance that she didn’t need to read it or consult a lawyer, Nelson contends in a Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit.
The document promised Nelson $100,000 for her silence, she alleges.
But Rosenkranz forked over just $32,500 — and by August, Nelson was spilling the beans.

The state had climbed to second last year for the first time since 2010, but was edged out by Connecticut in the 2014 ranking.

“Miss Jordan, did you give yourself and your son an amount of drugs that you believed would take your life and his?’’
“Yes, I did,’’ Jordan testified. She started to cry and Justice Charles Solomon handed her a tissues.
The weepy mother confessed to taking Jude Mirra’s life in February 2010 at the swank Peninsula Hotel but insists that it was a ‘mercy killing’ to spare him from abuse at the hands of almost half a dozen people.

Millionaire Racist Stereotypes American Jews

[From article]
Man, let me tell you something about George Bush and oil money and Obama and no money. People want to say Obama can't make these moves or he's not executing. That's because he ain't got those connections. Black people don't have the same level of connections as Jewish people. Black people don't have the same connection as oil people.

Just a bit of racism from this foul-mouthed millionaire racist. He believes that all Jews are rich. And that all blacks are victims, even himself a $100 millionaire. What a bore. Yet misguided journalists give this delusional racist millionaire access to their ink and airwaves. Pathetic.

The owners of a Long Island, New York, deli have been arrested after they allegedly tried to scam a $1million lottery winner by taking his ticket, handing him $1,000 cash and keep the winning scratch-off for themselves.
The victim, who speaks no English, initially fell for the bait-and-switch scam and left with the meager cash and no ticket.
But, he returned the next day and demanded the ticket back. When they wouldn't give it to him, he called the police.

Mrs. Obama Makes Millions in Non Profit Corporations

[From article]
Mrs. Obama's nonprofit reportedly has assets of $4.5 million. It doesn't have to disclose its donors. So much for the "most transparent administration ever." Even left-wing watchdogs are irked. "This is a classic case of the game of influence peddling by lobbying associations," Craig Holman, who works for the liberal watchdog group Public Citizen, told Politico.com. "Lobbyists and corporations with business pending before the federal government invest in such charitable causes as a means to buy access and favor from the White House."

Defending The Honor of Multi Millionaire Athletes

Young men were defending the honor of the professional New England football team. 60 Minutes reported that the NFL earns $21 billion each year. The teams share their wealth evenly with all teams. Those same teams get taxpayer subsidies to build stadiums which the teams use to take more money for each game. Underprivileged politicians get special access to super bowl tickets which they sell to campaign contributors. Yet these clueless young men defend the honor of the teams? What honor is that? Tell me they don't vote.
