The Unabomber wants to make it clear - he is not that creep who is sending letters to journalists agreeing to be interviewed.
'Some creep in Santa Barbara, California, has been sending letters in my name to various journalists, requesting an interview and expressing what he pretends are my opinions,' the Unabomber, also known by his real name Ted Kaczynski, 74, wrote to a reporter at BuzzFeed.
The reporter's name is Andrew Kaczynski, no relation to Ted.
The Unabomber is ticked off because of a letter that was sent to New Yorker staff writer Lawrence Wright in May. The sender claimed to be Kaczynski, and offered an interview to whichever journalist would affirm that he is not mentally ill.
It read: 'I am ready to speak to someone from the media regarding my brother's recent comments and to discuss how they are being used to torment me.'
'I am only granting one interview to one person. In order to determine who will get the interview, I am asking you to write me back affirming that you understand that I am NOT mentally ill, as my brother Dave, would have you believe.'
Wright then tweeted a snapshot of the letter with the snarky reply, 'Thanks, Ted, you're not nuts at all'.
Kaczynski, who was spared the death penalty after it was determined he suffered from schizophrenia, may indeed be mentally ill, however, he wants everyone to know he's not the person who wrote those letters.
At least one other journalist, Bryan Denson, formerly of the Oregonian, also received the same letter.
'I'm not going to give any interviews,' wrote the real Kaczynski from his Colorado prison cell. 'And I do not necessarily share the opinions expressed in that creep's letters.'
He then went on to scold journalists who bought that the letter was from him without doing any fact checking.
'Competent journalists would look at the post marks from the letters they receive. If a letter has been postmarked from California, then obviously I could not have sent it. Moreover, competent journalists would have checked the handwriting on that creep's letters against the samples of my handwriting that are readily available on the Internet.
'But many journalists are too stupid or lazy to take such precautions so they've been duped by the aforesaid creep.'
It's unclear how Kaczynski knew the original letters were postmarked from Santa Barbara. Kaczynski is serving his life sentence at the United States Penitentiary Administrative Maximum Facility (ADX) in Florence, Colorado.
This time the letter has the hallmarks of being legitimate.
'The letter is post-marked from Colorado, yes. It also has to be him because we mailed the letter to him at prison so it makes sense that he responded,' Andrew Kaczynski of BuzzFeed wrote to the DailyMail.com.
The Unabomber killed three and injured 23 people over the course of an 18-year bombing campaign that often targeted universities and airlines.
His brother, David, helped investigators identify Kaczynski, and recently wrote a book detailing stories about his brother as well as his personal struggle turning him in.
Kaczynski was arrested in April 1996 and avoided capital punishment after he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. He pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to four life terms instead.
The fake Kaczynski's handwritten letter, which is dated April 4, 2016, was posted on Wright's twitter feed in May.
It read: 'I am ready to speak to someone from the media regarding my brother's recent comments and to discuss how they are being used to torment me.
'I am only granting one interview to one person. In order to determine who will get the interview, I am asking you to write me back affirming that you understand that I am NOT mentally ill, as my brother Dave, would have you believe.'
It also urged Wright to introduce himself and explain why he should be trusted.
The Unabomber’s trail of destruction had baffled the FBI from its barbaric outset in 1978, when he sent his first bomb to the University of Illinois at Chicago which exploded and injured a security guard.
The bomber set off another device in the cargo hold of an American Airlines flight in 1979, injuring 12 and forcing it to make an emergency landing.
He killed computer store owner Hugh Scrutton near his shop in Sacramento in 1985 and murdered advertising executive Thomas Mosser with a bomb sent to his home in North Caldwell, New Jersey in 1994.
The bomber also killed California Forestry Association president Gilbert Murray in 1995 with a package bomb sent to his Sacramento office.

Interesting article yet lacking in specifics. Professor Sarna recognizes the role of politicians in creating a hateful atmosphere. Campaigning for president former U.S. Senator, First Lady, and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton called Republican candidate Donald Trump, crazy and dangerous. That is the pervasive attitude promoted by police, lawyers, courts, and politicians toward persons with disabilities. It is seldom recognized as hateful not even by journalists, who join in the hate campaign against disabled persons. Not distinguishing between lawful and unlawful discrimination in Massachusetts, the Attorney General indicates her less than thoughtful idea on the issue. Though she is quick to note any slight toward homosexuals and their powerful lobbyists. The AG seldom notices or expresses any concern about institutionalized bigotry toward persons with disabilities. Then there is the senior U.S. Senator from Massachusetts who was a professor of law at Harvard Law School. Being relentlessly humiliated for her identity by conservative journalists she was unable refrain from employing personal attacks against Donald Trump. Is she a role model indicating her approval of hatred toward persons with who she disagrees?

Reports of anti-Semitic incidents are soaring this year across New England, an increase fueled by vandalism, harassment, and other acts at schools and colleges, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Anti-Defamation League.
According to the ADL, there have already been 56 anti-Semitic acts in the region this year, nearly as many as for all of 2015, when 61 were reported.
The data alarmed Jewish clergy and academics, who said the incidents suggest a rising level of intolerance that may feed on the rhetoric from the contentious political season.
“Clearly, people are acting out on some long-held stereotypes and hatred toward Jews, and it’s designed to send a message of intimidation,” said Robert Trestan, director of the New England Regional Office of the ADL. “We’re increasingly living in an environment where incivility is becoming common and accepted practice.”

Brandeis professor Jonathan Sarna said he believes a combination of social media, anti-Israel sentiment, and rhetoric from politicians has led to a sense of public acceptance of some anti-Semitism.
“There is a sense today that this kind of hatred is more acceptable and that the public square has become coarser than it had been in the past, and indeed, one senses that even in presidential politics that there is often a relationship,” Sarna said.
“We look to a candidate as role models. When they employ very coarse speech, and people take notice, it’s not a surprise that other folks do the same thing.’’

Among the schools scheduled to take part are all four middle schools in Newton. At Newton’s F.A. Day Middle School, three anti-Semitic incidents were reported this academic year, including graffiti reading “Burn the Jews” scrawled in a boy’s bathroom.
The incidents prompted Newton officials to hold a public meeting, which in itself became a divisive event.
Newton Mayor Setti Warren said Wednesday that he was not surprised to hear about the uptick in anti-Semitic incidents.

Harvard Law School emeritus professor Alan Dershowitz said it was hard to measure the current state of anti-Semitism in statistics since many incidents go unreported.
He said he receives around 50 anti-Semitic e-mails, letters, and phone calls each year but does not report them to law enforcement.

White House Cronies In Homeland Security Use Journalists To Smear Whistleblower

The Department of Homeland Security on Thursday dismissed an ICE whistleblower it was secretly smearing to reporters after she testified before Congress about her troubles with the agency.
Special Agent Taylor Johnson — who had a storied career until she irked Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid by objecting to a visa program for foreign investors tied to the senator’s son — says she declined to take a $100,000 severance package because it included a non-disclosure agreement.
Gee, what a great use of taxpayer money that would have been. Pay a woman not to talk about what already got nationwide coverage when she talked about it before Congress.
DHS Acting Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Todd Breasseale did not respond to multiple inquiries about the reason for Johnson’s dismissal and why they tried to buy her silence.
Despite all the media coverage of her case, including a Washington Gadfly report that the ICE press secretary with the approval of Breasseale was peddling confidential information to discredit her in violation of the Privacy Act, Taylor is not surprised she got the boot.
“My entire chain of command was appointed by Obama,” she remarked. “They can do anything they want.”
In testimony last June to the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Johnson said she was stripped of her gun and badge, without explanation, after discovering fraud and abuse.
“Some of the violations investigated surrounding the project included bank and wire fraud, and I discovered ties to organized crime and high-ranking politicians and they received promotions that appeared to facilitate the program,” Johnson testified.
She said that during her investigation in 2013, she “discovered that EB-5 applicants from China, Russia, Pakistan, Malaysia had been approved in as little as 16 days” and that case files “lacked the basic and necessary law enforcement queries.”
At ICE, Johnson had amassed many awards and never had any disciplinary problems. But everything changed abruptly in 2013 when she invoked the ire of Senator Reid by holding up a visas (sic) for a foreigner investor in a Las Vegas casino represented by his son, attorney Cory Reid.
The Senator’s office complained to Johnson’s Special Agent in Charge. She was then placed on administrative leave, without explanation, on October 13, 2013.
Under pressure from Senate Democratic staffers Johnson did not mention in her testimony the role Reid’s office played in her ouster. But the DHS Inspector General concluded in a report last March that U.S. Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS) director Alejandro Mayorkas intervened in “an unprecedented matter” to approve EB-5 visas for the Las Vegas casino investors after pressure from Reid’s office.
The report essentially vindicated complaints by Johnson and other DHS employees about the program.
DHS has never given any public explanation for the disciplinary action it took against Johnson. After the hearing a DHS spokeswoman said they do not talk about personnel matters. But this past December, ICE press secretary Gillian Christensen, citing confidential information from Johnson’s file, tried to convince this reporter off the record that she was a dishonest and a problem employee.
That argument is going to be even harder to peddle now that the Department would have allowed Johnson to leave with a clean work record and $100,000 in spending money if she promised to keep her mouth shut.
Johnson is soliciting donations on gofundme.com to cover legal fees for a possible federal lawsuit.

A Belgian journalist has told how drunken German yobs whispered 'would you sleep with me tonight' into her ear and then sexually assaulted her live on air.
Esmeralda Labye had been unaware of the young men making obscene gestures behind her back as she reported live from the Cologne carnival - where more than 2,000 police had been drafted in following multiple sexual assaults in the city over New Year's Eve.
But while the New Year's Eve assaults have been largely blamed on a mob of young migrant men, the assault on Ms Labye was carried out by Germans.

‘When I started my broadcast at 1.14pm, two or three men monopolised attention. I didn’t see them, as I was focusing on my live broadcast and they were behind me.
‘I got a kiss on the back of the neck. It was women’s day in Cologne, and there was a lot of kissing. In this context I wasn’t worried, so I continued my report.

‘Almost immediately, a young German sang in my ear: “Would you sleep with me tonight?” Then I felt two hands rest on my shoulders.
‘Later, I could see on the footage that the person behind me mimed an obscene gesture – something that shouldn’t have been on camera. He was mimicking sexual intercourse a number of times.
‘I could clearly see on my left a man made a finger to the camera. Many times even. I thought that, logically, there would be no problem, given the large police presence.'
The broadcast lasted for a total of 90 seconds, after which Ms Labye waited a couple of seconds to allow those in the studio to thank her before she went off air.
‘It was at that moment that one of the three men around me touched my breasts,' she revealed.
‘I lost my temper. Knowing we were no longer live, I turned around and told them in English: "You did that twice, not once! Don’t touch me, don’t touch me!".
'The three drunks didn’t seem to understand why I was angry, but they left without a word.'

In 2013, after flirting with running for the Republican presidential nomination a year earlier, Donald Trump essentially endorsed Bill DeBlasio, who was known to be a committed socialist with a long record of being on the extreme left. Trump said,
“I think pretty strongly that he’ll be a good mayor. Maybe a very good mayor and I don’t think he’s going to want to kill the golden goose.”
This was said before the election when there was a viable Republican candidate running against DeBlasio. Just how committed to conservative principles is Donald Trump? Does he really have a core set of principles?

Over the years Trump has contributed enormous sums of money to individual Democrats and party campaign committees including the most unethical and partisan Senate Majority Leader in recent history, Harry Reid. Trump has justified these contributions as being necessary to essentially buy influence in order to get his real estate projects etc. approved. Perhaps so, but that does not explain when asked in February of 2014 who were his favorite journalists, he listed such liberal luminaries as: Maureen Dowd, Diane Sawyer, Andrea Peyser, George Stephanopoulis, Bob Scheiffer and Mika Brezinski. Therefore, does Trump, in his heart, still believe what he said in 1999 when he quit the Republican Party saying, “I just believe the Republicans are just too crazy right.”?
Donald Trump will turn 70 in June of this year. An age when one’s character and belief system has been firmly established for some period of time. Yet as someone his senior I must ask him: “Donald, who the hell are you and why should the American people trust you with the fate of the country potentially hanging in the balance.”?

Vincent A. Musetto, who wrote the greatest headline in New York newspaper history, died Tuesday at 74 from cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Claire, and a daughter, Carly — and will be mourned as well by New York Post employees past and present who were inspired by his professionalism and quirky talent during his Post career from 1970-2011.
His spirit will be missed, too, by millions of Post readers who never knew him.
Post editor- in-chief Col ­Allan said, “V.A. Musetto was one of the legends of our business, and he became famous for a truly classic headline.
“But for those who worked with him and mourn him today, V.A. offered so much more: Humor. A sharp critical eye. A personal warmth with his colleagues, and deep love for The Post and its readers. All will miss him.”



“Headless Body in Topless Bar” ran on The Post’s front page on April 15, 1983. As witty as it was horrific, it expressed with unflinching precision the city’s ­accelerating tailspin into an abyss of atrocious crime and chaos.
“Headless Body” soon became the stuff of pop-culture legend. “Saturday Night Live” worked it into routines and David Letterman invited Musetto onto his late-night show to talk about it. It even became the title of a 1990s crime movie.
But Musetto, a managing editor, had to fight to get “Headless Body” into the paper. He pleaded with then-executive editor Roger Wood, who was equally appalled by the crime.
A psycho had invaded a Queens after-hours joint, shot the owner to death and then — on learning a female customer was a mortician — ordered her to cut off the victim’s head, which cops later found in the madman’s car.
But Wood thought the headline too raunchy even for The Post’s sensationalist, Fleet Street-style of the time. A quieter headline ran with the first version of the story on an ­inside page of the afternoon edition.
But Musetto stuck to his guns, and “Headless Body in Topless Bar” ran on Page 1 the next day.
It prompted witless snarking in egghead circles. The Post’s legendary metropolitan editor, Steve Dunleavy, countered, “What should we have said? ‘Decapitated cerebellum in tavern of ill repute’?” (The New York Times came close with, “Owner of a Bar Shot to Death; Suspect is Held.”)

From 1979 into the ’80s, The Post published eight daily editions, and Musetto put out four of them. His zany style belied crack news judgment and craftsmanship. Dressed only in black, balding but with a hippie-length beard, he tooted horns and kicked over trash cans in heat-of-battle deadline moments.
Vincent Musetto was born in May 1941 in Boonton, NJ. He toiled at the Staten Island Advance before he joined The Post as a copy editor, and after his newsroom years served as entertainment editor and a film critic.

Professional Report on Cambridge, MA City Council Candidate Forum

Mr. Sennott was able to record some of the discussions at the various tables. It was not possible to hear all of what the many candidates said. Voters have limited attention spans and it gets worse by the year. It was reassuring to see none of the candidates discuss the role of Harvard University, teachers unions, and public employee unions for setting policy parameters for the city. It is not as if these candidates or the sitting councilors (or even the City Manager) can influence what those three 800-pound gorillas do with city resources. Who will sponsor a forum so that voters and taxpayers can see and question the three real powers behind the curtain?

Brandon Marshall, the New York Jets wide receiver and occasional sports commentator, charges that the National Football League is racist. He alleges that the league favors white players over black athletes like him, especially white marquee quarterbacks.
Aside from the fact that Marshall recently signed a three-year contract for $27 million — and, for example, African-American lineman Marcell Dareus just concluded a contract extension with the Buffalo Bills for six years at $100 million — examine Marshall’s whimper in light of the demography of the National Football League.
Currently, African-Americans comprise about 12% of the population. Yet they make up about 67% of the current meritocratic, but allegedly racist NFL roster. In the quota parlance of affirmative action engineering, they are “overrepresented” in one of America’s most prestigious and compensated industries at over five times their percentages in the general population. Nor are blacks just the purported grunts on the battlefield of the league; they make up 16% of the head coaches and 24% of the league’s general managers.

He said the president must shut the porous border immediately and together with Congress implement a legal immigration system — where laws are respected and enforced versus ignored or selectively enforced by liberal officials who support sanctuary cities and the many illegals who exploit them.

We need to say, ‘Mayors, councilmen, if you are going to flaunt federal law, there should be two consequences.’ One, they should be criminally liable as accessories. It’s time to defund sanctuary cities and hold officials accountable for refusing to enforce the law. If not, we’ll continue to see more American families destroyed at the hands of criminal illegals.

Curious that Mayor Walsh is extremely offended by Donald Trump's constitutionally protected speech which the Mayor says stereotypes Mexican people. (Peter Gelzinis, "Walsh, Trump dust-up won’t end with apology," July 16, 2015, Boston Herald) I do not recall ever reading or hearing about the Mayor or any politician or journalist expressing offense at the daily stereotyping of persons with disabilities. They are considered stupid and ignorant. Cognitive disabilities are believed to be evidence of criminal behavior, i.e., all persons accused of mental illness are dangerous and violent. Some negative stereotyping is OK? Trump's comments can be verified by reading news reports about crimes. The same journalists who report crimes by illegal aliens, slur persons with disabilities by suggesting mental illness causes crime ("suspect has a history of mental illness," e.g.) , when there is no evidence for that drug company propaganda.

In other words, this is a woman who knows her way around, is capable, and can take care of herself, even during the city's current troubles.
So why did (Rev.) Al Sharpton, a male, a non-Baltimore resident, an MSNBC talk show host – and a tax evader to boot – pop up in that city to run interference for her, even shoving a reporter, Leland Vittert of rival FOX News, when he tried to question Her Honor?

Everyone knows the White House Correspondents Association dinner is broken. What started off decades ago as a stately formal celebration of the best of presidential reporting has morphed into a four-day orgy of everything people outside the Beltway hate about life inside the Beltway—now it's not just one night of clubby backslapping, carousing and drinking between the press and the powerful, it's four full days of signature cocktails and inside jokes that just underscore how out of step the Washington elite is with the rest of the country. It's not us (journalists) versus them (government officials); it's us (Washington) versus them (the rest of America).

The week acts as a tacky and vainglorious self-celebration at a time when most Americans don’t think Washingtonians have much to be commended for.

Even those who enjoy it tend to concede that the week is a circus.

When the White House Correspondents’ Association teamed up with the History Channel in 2014 to make a short video about the Association’s history, this is how they described their own dinner: “The first and foremost mission of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner is to promote journalism education through the scholarship fund.”
Those are their words.
So why, then, does the Association only dole out around $100,000 in scholarships annually when some of the richest people in the world are at their dinner? (See: Rupert Murdoch, George Lucas, Kim Kardashian, Donald Trump, Martha Stewart, Steve Case, Sheila Johnson, Ryan Seacrest.)
Let’s not forget that this is a town known for its fundraising prowess. If you think those folks won’t cut some serious checks for the scholarship program as the president of the United States and other notables look on and applaud you, then you don’t know how fundraising works.

But, this being the White House Correspondents’ Association’s annual dinner and all, there should be one area in which the president should get ribbed as much as is warranted: How he treats the press. Well, this is your dinner and the president is your guest: Hold him to account.

An Argentine prosecutor who died mysteriously last week told a reporter prior to his death that he had evidence tying Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires.
The Washington Free Beacon first reported that Rouhani was part of the secretive Iranian government committee that approved the AMIA bombing, according to witness testimony included in a 500-page indictment written by the late Argentine prosecutor Alberto Nisman, who was appointed to investigate the attack.
The bombing, which killed 85 and injured hundreds, is believed to have been authorized by Iran and carried out by its terror proxy Hezbollah. Nisman’s indictment implicated numerous high-profile Iranian officials in the attack and prompted Interpol to issue “red notices” for their arrests.

An Argentine prosecutor found dead shortly before he was about to make explosive allegations about President Cristina Kirchner took a bullet point-blank
to his forehead, justice officials said Saturday.
Authorities said Diego Lagomarsino, a computer expert and colleague who said he had brought prosecutor Alberto Nisman a handgun Saturday night at his request, has been barred from leaving Argentina.
Nisman was found dead with a bullet to the head in his Buenos Aires home on Sunday, just before he was set to go before a congressional hearing to accuse Kirchner and Foreign Minister Hector Timerman of shielding Iranian officials implicated in the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center that killed 85 people.
It was Argentina's worst terror attack in modern history. It has never gone to trial fully. Several pretrials were cancelled amid serious irregularities involving judges and Argentine intelligence staff.
Investigators, who initially said Nisman appeared to have committed suicide, have not ruled out homicide or "induced suicide."

Damian Pachter, of the English-language Buenos Aires Herald, reported on Friday he was followed by unknown people and feared for his safety but did not elaborate, his employer said.
Mr Nisman was found dead last Sunday, the day before he was to testify before congress about his explosive allegations that President Cristina Kirchner shielded Iranian officials wanted in the South American country's biggest terrorist attack.
The official in charge of investigating his death said last night that he appeared to have been shot at point blank range but added that there was no firm evidence that anyone else was involved.

Kirchner argued that Alberto Nisman did not commit suicide, but was instead killed in an 'operation' against her government.
Mr Nisman, the lead prosecutor in the case, was found dead under suspicious circumstance with a gunshot to his head at his home.
Prosecutor Viviana Fein, who is leading the investigation into his death, said yesterday that the shot had been fired 'from a distance no greater than a centimetre'.
