European Cities Have No Go Zones, Chicago has One Too

Muslim immigration to Europe has produced so-called “no-go zones” for police and fire departments in cities with large Muslim populations, including suburban areas of Paris and large sections of Malmo, Sweden. Hostility is such that public safety officers fear lethal attacks from a population that seeks to live outside the corrupt law of the infidel.
But before we Americans feel any superiority, consider the home-grown variant. This is from Second City Cop, a blog written by a Chicago officer who anonymously goes behind the news headlines and tells readers what is really going on:
Five people were seriously hurt Saturday in Englewood when a stolen car fleeing the police crashed into a van, the police said.
It happened around 5:45 p.m. when the car ran a stop sign and hit a van with eight people inside at 71st Street and Carpenter Avenue, according to the police.
When police caught up with the fleeing felons and attempted to put them under arrest while summoning and rendering aid to the eight other injured parties, do you think the neighborhood turned out to assist? Or even just gawk? Nope. They began to bottle and brick the police and squad cars, necessitating a rather large call-out of manpower.
Even more strangely, not a word of this attack on the police by the bystanders made it to either major newspaper.

Increased Cases Of Whooping Cough In NYC Jewish Neighborhoods

A wave of whooping cough has hit the Orthodox Jewish Brooklyn neighborhoods of Crown Heights, Williamsburg and Borough Park, city health officials said Monday.
A total of 109 cases of pertussis, or whooping cough, were reported over the past year in the three neighborhoods, with an increase in cases over the past four months, the Health Department said.
Five infants were hospitalized and one came down with pneumonia.

Toddlers and infants make up the majority of cases. About half were not vaccinated at all or didn’t get the full set of shots, authorities said in an alert to medical providers.
Only 3 percent of the 37 mothers of infants with whooping cough received the recommended tetanus-diptheria-acellularr pertussis vaccination during pregnancy, the alert said.

Children receiving treatment must stay home and not attend school or day care until they have received at least five days of antibiotics.

These images are from the Cambridge, MA city council candidate forum sponsored by the Mid Cambridge Neighborhood Association. Cambridge College provided the venue on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. Not certain if all information is correct. The setting was confusing. Maybe better images next time. Former Mayor, City Councilor and Harvard College graduate Ken Reeves attended, as well as School Committee member Richard Harding. School Committee candidate Elechi M. Kadete was present too.

Format of this forum was, after one-minute opening statements (no sound systems), the candidates were seated at one of five (or six) tables with voters joining the candidates they wanted to hear. Not all ceiling lights were on. Unable to capture all present due to limited camera abilities.

The Court of Appeals in Albany voted 5-0 to strike down a 2006 Nassau County law that banned offenders from living within 1,000 feet of a school — saying that only the state had the power to enact such a ban.
The decision in the Nassau case set a precedent that will affect more than 100 similar municipal ordinances around the state that set boundaries around parks, schools and other areas where children are likely to gather.
“A local government’s police power is not absolute,” Judge ­Eugene Pigott Jr. wrote. “Although a local government is constitutionally empowered to enact local laws relating to the welfare of its citizens through its police power, it is prohibited from exercising that power through the adoption of local laws that are inconsistent with the New York State Constitution or any general law of the state.”

Liberal Cambridge Elitist Censorship

Below is a response by a Cambridge MA discussion list moderator to a member of the list. The moderator says that one is not permitted to "misrepresent the opinion of others." Wouldn't it be nice if national pundits had the same restrictions? And what about politicians in the US Senate, and the White House? What if Chris Matthews was unable to accuse Republicans of wanting to throw grandma into the street? What if Bill Maher was unable to misrepresent what Sarah Palin believes. But in Cambridge as in other liberal only jurisdictions dissent is not permitted. What happened to those ACLU buttons saying "Dissent is Patriotic" when Bush was President? There is always a reason why someone is not allowed to say something unpopular. In Washington DC liberals openly support having the government deny expression to conservatives. In Cambridge it is anyone who disagrees with the liberal elitist home owners who run local neighborhood associations and their discussion lists.

TSA Wants to Scan You In Your Neighborhood

"the Transportation Security Administration, which has reportedly been contemplating expanding its controversial X-ray body-scanning program from airports to public events, mass transit and possibly even the streets where you live.

The Fourth Amendment states explicitly: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated."

Hard to square that with the mission of the Homeland Security Department and its intrusive TSA, which treat every American equally -- as a potential criminal and terrorist.
