Campaign To Dumb Down All US Education Proceeding As Planned; Cambridge, MA A Leader

[From article]
There is no question that American public schools have been dumbed down. The government's own report in 1983, "A Nation At Risk," said the schools are so bad that they might well be a clever subversive trick by an unfriendly foreign power.
We can go back to the early 1950s, to a book written by a prominent professor of history, Arthur Bestor. His title says it all: "Educational Wastelands: The Retreat from Learning in our Public Schools." (This was one of many books with a similar message. Note that Why Johnny Can't Read came along in 1955.)

It's a fact that our secondary schools have been dumbed down for a long time. Let's give credit where it's due. Our Education Establishment has done a bang-up job of undermining traditional education and imposing so-called progressive education on our schools. (I say "so-called" because progressive usually devolves to regressive and/or repressive.)
In practice, dumbing down means that today's high school graduates possess less information and fewer skills than was the case 25 or 50 years ago. They have lower scores on their SATs. They can't write as well, think as well, or study as well. They can't perform academically as well as kids did decades ago.
One immediate result should be no surprise: a great percentage of incoming college students need remedial training, more than half of them at community colleges.
Note that we're paying to educate students in secondary school, then we pay to educate the same students in the same subjects a second time. Wouldn't it be more cost-effective (and certainly more logical) if the K-12 schools were run properly? Of course.
But the bad news is just starting. There are other damages that may be even more costly. Millions of unprepared students will exert downward pressure on every aspect of college life. This is already happening.
Colleges will have a dire choice. Maintain their traditional standards, in which case they would have to flunk out a great percentage of the students and lose all that government funding. Or steadily degrade their standards to accommodate the low quality of incoming freshmen.
One's first hope is that the colleges – "higher education," as they once proudly called it – would resolve to hold the high ground.
[. . .]

The problem is that the Education Establishment in control of K-12 will try, relentlessly and shamelessly, to subvert the colleges, for two separate reasons.
First, the typical student they're graduating is not very good. They can try to improve those graduates, or, the likely option, they can try to silence anyone who might complain. By lowering standards, you guarantee fewer complaints.
[. . .]
K-12 is now overrun by counterproductive sophistries: cooperative learning, project-based learning, constructivism, self-esteem, alternative assessment, and many more. By forcing these methods into the colleges, the methods become securely locked in at the K-12 level. The Education Establishment can then say to the parents and community: We want to do what's done at the college level; you know it's good!
[. . .]
Fundamentally, traditionalists view education as the development of an individual's intellectual skills. Progressives see education as a tool for social and cultural change. Let me reduce this to the bleak reality. If a lot of students have politically correct opinions about global warming and transsexuals, progressives consider this outcome successful, even if students learn little else.
[. . .]

One Ivy League university already boasts about its dedication to "inclusion." The problem is that everything that is "included" as official campus doctrine requires the exclusion of anything in the way of that step. "Inclusion" ends up meaning exclusion. But nobody will be able to think or speak critically about this trade-off because such discussion will not be allowed. Colleges will have more taboos, censorship, speech codes, and safe spaces. Finally, demanding higher standards and better education will be considered unreasonable, if not outright racist and elitist. You may not be legally permitted to ask for higher standards.
[. . .]
This country's Education Establishment soldiers have created 40 million functional illiterates. I think they're proud of it. I think they'd be happy to spread the blight.

Now They're Dumbing Down the Colleges
By Bruce Deitrick Price

* * *

Remarkable how feelings drive the education industrial complex, where the Therapeutic State shares power with teachers unions. If students, teachers and politicians worked toward hiring the best teachers, that might increase the number of educated students. But today in Cambridge it is all about identity politicians using feelings to gain more money and power. No wonder US schools are trending down, Trump is so popular, and will be the next President. Most of my teachers were women. I was able to learn from them in spite of feeling uncomfortable in the classes. Are all classes focused on feelings today?

[From article]
student Julia Lowfleury said she has never had a teacher of color or one who looks like her. Because of this, she said she often feels uncomfortable in class. According to the Educators of Color Group at CRLS, Lowfleury’s situation is not uncommon or new.
“I need to know there’s going to be someone there who has maybe been in the same situations I have, who has been raised in the same background or has the same religious views and can understand the same problems I face. I might not find that in teachers who are from a white, upper-middle-class family,” Lowfleury said at a School Committee meeting Tuesday night.
[. . .]
The issue was not an agenda item, so the committee did not discuss it further at the meeting. Although it is not permitted to address non-agenda items during public comment, the committee allowed an exception for the group.
[. . .]
Kim Parker, of the Educators of Color Group and an English teacher at CRLS, said there is a revolving door within CPSD and CRLS that does not retain faculty of color. She said this is due to a lack of administrative support in confronting systematic issues of race and racism, as well as evaluations and evaluators that are not culturally responsive.
[. . .]
The Cambridge School Committee set a goal of having 30 percent of faculty and administration be of color at Cambridge Public Schools. While CRLS meets the 30 percent standard, Parker said her group would like the percentage to be filled by core faculty, not including administration.
[. . .]
[School Committee Member Harding said] we need to keep our eye on the ball and that diversity matters.”
[. . .]
Michelle Li, a 10th-grade English teacher at CRLS who also spoke out in support of hiring more faculty of color, said parents have told her on several occasions how thrilled they are for their children to have an Asian English teacher.
“The unspoken message here is two-fold. First, that their child has gone through many years of CPS and is just now having their first experience with an Asian teacher, and second, that Miss Li teaches English, not math, science or Chinese, but English,” she said.
As a personal anecdote, Li spoke of a time she bonded with an Asian student who used chopsticks to eat fruit in class. Moments like those, Li said, validate the richness of the students’ varied backgrounds and interests.
“It builds bridges between cultures, and signals to our students that teachers appreciate who they are and strive to deliver lessons that are culturally relevant,” she said.
CRLS student Mary Gashaw said she would be more likely to feel comfortable in classrooms if she had teachers of color, and that the current situation in schools is not ideal.
As far as demands, the Educators of Color Group is asking the School Committee for a comprehensive external evaluation of procedures used by CRLS evaluators by the Lawyers’ Committee on Civil Rights and Economic Justice to evaluate trends and their impact on retention of teachers of color. The group is also asking for “leveled-up” classrooms, bringing the current faculty of color percentage up to 30 percent and maintaining that annually, and support for educational professionals to pursue certification while providing certification prep paid for by the district to aid with passing the Massachusetts Test for Education Licensure.
Members are also are asking for district-wide cultural competency training to make all educators and administrators proficient,
[. . .]
“I feel like a diverse faculty improves every child’s education,” Parker said.

History Lessons Remain Unlearned

Neville Chamberlain (1869-1940)

[From article]
Immigration is the new “No Nukes/Save the Whales” movement, only with more body bags.
After the mass murder committed by Muslims in San Bernardino, which came on the heels of the mass murder committed by Muslims in Paris, Donald Trump proposed a moratorium on Muslim immigration.
Explaining the idea on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” he talked about how Muslim immigration was infecting Europe: “Look at what happened in Paris, the horrible carnage. … We have places in London and other places that are so radicalized that the police are afraid for their own lives. We have to be very smart and very vigilant.”
Trump’s reference to London’s no-go zones was met with a massive round of sneering, which is what passes for argument in America these days. Jeb! said Trump was “unhinged,” Sen. John McCain called him “foolish,” and former vice president Dick Cheney said Trump’s remarks went “against everything we stand for and believe in.” (Based on Trump’s crushing primary victories, Cheney is no longer qualified to say what “we” believe in.)
[. . .]
UK Daily Mail: ‘TRUMP’S NOT WRONG — WE CAN’T WEAR UNIFORM IN OUR OWN CARS’: Five Police Officers Claim Donald Trump Is Right About Parts of London Being So ‘Radicalised’ They Are No-Go Areas
The Sun: ‘THERE ARE NO-GO AREAS IN LONDON’: Policemen Back Trump’s Controversial Comments
UK Daily Express: ‘TRUMP IS RIGHT!’ Police Say Parts of Britain Are No-Go Areas due to ISIS Radicalisation.
Then, in January of this year, Trump talked specifically about the Muslim invasion of Brussels on the Maria Bartiromo show. “There is something going on, Maria,” he said. “Go to Brussels. … There is something going on and it’s not good, where they want Sharia law … There is something bad going on.”
[. . .]
Indignant Belgians took to Twitter, the Times reported, “deploying an arsenal of insults, irony and humor, including images of Belgium’s beloved beer and chocolate.” Liberals have gone from not understanding jokes to not understanding English. When Trump talked about unassimilated Muslim immigrants demanding Sharia law, I don’t think he was knocking Belgium’s beer and chocolate.
[. . .]
All this would be perfectly normal if we were talking about an earthquake or some other natural disaster — something humans have no capacity to prevent. But Muslims pouring into our countries and committing mass murder isn’t natural at all. It’s the direct result of government policy.
[. . .]
When people are killing in the name of their religion, it’s not an irrelevancy to refuse to keep admitting more practitioners of that religion.
But this is the madness that has seized Europe and America — a psychosis Peter Brimelow calls “Hitler’s revenge.”
Apparently, what we have learned from Hitler is not: Don’t kill Jews. To the contrary, the only people who openly proclaim their desire to kill Jews are … Muslims.
What we’ve learned from Hitler is not: Don’t attempt to seize hegemonic control over entire continents. The only people vowing to conquer the world are … Muslims.
And what we’ve learned from Hitler is not: Beware violent uprisings of angry young men. The only hordes of violent, angry young men are, again … Muslims. (And Trump protesters.)
But instead of learning our lesson and recoiling with horror at this modern iteration of Nazism, we welcome the danger with open arms — because the one and only lesson we’ve learned from Hitler is: DON’T DISCRIMINATE!

Therapeutic State Promotes Double Standards. Muslim Feelings More Important Than Others

[From article]
If alleged Islamophobia causes Muslims to pillage, rape, and slaughter, then how come centuries of anti-Semitism have not produced a raging Jewish population hell-bent on murder? Or if cartoons about Muhammad can cause homicidal riots, how come the daily anti-Semitic cartoons emanating out of the Middle East and other parts of the globe do not result in Jews going on a rampage?
Because civilized people don't behave this way.
For that matter, how come when people step on the American flag and rip it to shreds, Americans don't go on assassination raids?
I am absolutely sick and tired of talking heads using a double standard for those Muslims who act like barbarians against their own women and against other people who refuse to accede to their demands.
If you don't want to eat bacon, then don't eat bacon.
If you don't want to drink alcohol, then don't drink alcohol.
If you don't want to wear pig costumes, then don't.
But we will not surrender to your demands.
When people begin to self-censor their ideas, their activities, their food, and their entertainment, we might as well put "RIP" over our heads, because we are triggering our own suicide.
I, for one, opt out of that thinking. If you cannot abide by the American Constitution, and despise what the Stars and Stripes symbolizes, you are certainly free to leave this country. If you cannot use the same toilet as a non-Muslim child, then please do not use the facilities. We are not going backward to a segregation of Muslims vs. non-Muslims.
If you want to pray, you will not take over public space of a taxpayer-funded university and demand a key to lock out anyone else who wants to use the room.
Engaging in female genital mutilation has no place in this country; it is heinous and a form of child abuse.
If you don't approve of gay people's lifestyles, it is unacceptable to harm them. You can think what you want, but when you act out and are violent, then you have crossed the line. It will not be tolerated.
And no, we don't want American girls to wear the hijab in school, since it actually represents one part of the infiltration and indoctrination that ultimately results in building mosques, advancing the teaching of Arabic, demanding Halal food, and creating Islamic financial institutions that fund jihad. These are not disconnected events, but part of a well coordinated movement toward an Islamic caliphate.
You will not demand that sharia law be used instead of the Constitution. Sharia is the complete opposite of the rights enumerated in the Constitution, and to say otherwise will be met with "if there is no difference, then why are you demanding a change in the first place?"
You will not receive the largesse of this country and consider it to be jizya paid by the dhimmis. If you cannot take care of your families, then you will be considered a drag on this society. The entitlements will end.
When you stop murdering Christians across the globe, then you will begin to be a part of a community of people who respect others. This last year was the "worst year in modern history for Christian persecution." And "who claims the lion's share of this unprecedented persecution?" – the descendants of Mohammad. It is Christianophobia and Judeophobia that are running rampant because of the actions of jihadists.
This obdurate desire to derail American rights has no place in this country. Why are we so afraid to stand up for the freedom that has made this country unique and so special relative to other countries? Why are we willing to give up our birthright so others can trample all over it?
It is time to refuse to surrender to unyielding demands by jihadists.
And to those who find my words harsh, I pose this question: why are so many Muslims coming to our shores if they refuse to become Americanized?
For those who are knowledgeable about hijra, it is patently clear why.
As explained in Ann Corcoran's Refugee Resettlement and the Hijra to America, "Hijra remains the model to this day for jihadists who seek to populate and dominate new lands. Their migrations are not for the purpose of assimilating peacefully in a new host nation, adopting as their own its traditions and legal systems." Instead, it is to "colonize and then to transform non-Muslim target societies – whether through violent means or via stealthy, pre-violent ones[.]" The ultimate goal is "global submission to shariah and the reestablishment of a caliphate to rule according to it."
For your friends and family who are still not convinced, have them check out the Refugee Resettlement Watch website. Since its launch in 2007, one can see that the U.S. government's refugee resettlement program is "exacerbating the jihadist threat to our nation."
One need only look at what is going on in Europe as un-vetted Muslim immigrants terrorize the women of Germany, England, France, Sweden, and Norway. When did common sense and protection become unimportant?
In a poll commissioned by the Center for Security Policy, more than half (51%) of Muslims in America believe that they should have "the choice of being governed according to Sharia" law. Nearly a quarter believe that "it is legitimate to use violence to punish those who give offense to Islam," and nearly one fifth of Muslim respondents said that the use of violence in the U.S. is justified in order to make sharia the law of the land in this country. Consequently, these findings confirm that, indeed, mass Muslim migration eviscerates Western culture. So has it been in the past, and so will it be going forward, if it is allowed to go unchecked.

Alpha Males Banned, Betas Obey Women Running The Feminist Therapeutic State

[From article]
Alpha males are necessary and cannot be done without. At times of emergency no one is more lauded. But when the emergency is over, no one is more unwelcome than the alpha.
[. . .]
Victor Davis Hanson recently published an entire volume dealing with exactly this phenomenon, The Savior Generals, telling the stories of commanders who redeemed apparently hopeless situations only to be rejected by the very societies they saved. The most recent of these was General David Petraeus,
[. . .]
We live in a world run by betas and their lady friends. A world that is not only unwelcome to the alpha, but one that is blatantly hostile to everything he stands for. A world that not only denies any place to the male champion, but denies any need for him, and even argues that he never truly existed. Much of the history of the past half-century -- from radical feminism to gay rights to the various “New Masculinities” that have appeared, amused the girls on “The View”, and then vanished, can be explained by this paradigm. We live in a culture that has, quite under the table, decided to discard one of the driving wheels of human existence, one in operation since the days of the Serengeti, without considering or planning for what that might mean.
This is put into relief by two recent incidents -- the Mizzou disturbances and the Paris attack. (There’s a third that can act as comic relief: Sen: Claire McCaskill’s on-air tantrum in which she called for males to “shut the hell up.”)
[. . .]
Pusillanimity, excuses, empty gestures -- these are the emblem of the human beta.
First we have to define our terms -- it goes without saying that the definition of an “alpha male” has been thoroughly distorted in hopes of discrediting it. An alpha, we’re told, is a bully, a thug, of low intelligence or even worse -- back in the 60s it was often implied that he was homosexual. You don’t hear that much today, now that gays are the exemplars of the new masculinity.
[. . .]
Alphas are simply the leading males of a particular social unit. In the animal world, this allows him access to more females to better spread his genes. Alphas are stronger, more ruthless, more decisive, and smarter than the average members of whatever their breed may be. Betas are the followers. In the human world, things are a little more complicated
[. . .]
Pure alphas, the ones stored in the “break only in case of war” cabinets, amount to about 5% of the male population, though there’s certainly variances there as well. [. . .] The ladies, for reasons of their own, like to play with alphas but to marry those of a more beta tendency. It’s one of those things that makes being human so interesting. Part of this is that it makes men easier to control, another is that it makes life much less nerve-wracking.
[. . .]

Women in politics, business, and the academy seem to think that they can run things with men much like their husbands.
The result has been a carnival of unintended consequences, much of it farcical, no small part of it terrifying. As Margaret Mead pointed out decades ago, males (by which she meant alphas) turn their backs on fields in which women are dominant. (Anyone doubting this is invited to examine the Democratic Party.) So we see endless situations in which beta males wander the landscape, in fields such as academia, the arts, and increasingly the sciences and government, looking for alphas to obey, and finding women who have no idea how to fit the role.
This is clearly in play in American academia, which has been totally taken over by feminists and betas. (Most interesting here is the Yale incident in which the college master was publicly berated by a foul-mouthed female student over an email sent by his wife suggesting that students take ethnic Halloween costumes with a grain of salt. Note that it was the wife who was responsible for the offending email but the husband who was sent out to answer for it. Clearly, she was sending a beta to do an alpha’s job.)

https://youtu.be/9IEFD_JVYd0

[. . .]
It is generally limited to the West, and largely to the United States. Elsewhere, the reign of the alpha continues, often in utterly perverse forms, as in the Islamic world, where it has been twisted by the tribal precepts inherited from Arab nomadic culture. In the Muslim world, we have males who fulfill every tenet of the alpha except for one: they are utterly terrified of females.
[. . .]
In the place of normal males, we see blustering, brutal, near-hysterical adolescents motivated as much by fear as anything else. Fear of women, fear of the intellect, fear of disagreement -- things no mature male would ever be afraid of. You take a few million of these emotional cripples and throw them at the feminized, beta-ized West, and…. Well, it’ll be funny in the 30th century. But it’s not funny today.
This is the meek inheriting the earth in the form of Woody Allen and his nagging girlfriend. Police chiefs who behave like ballerinas. Weird rituals in response to crimes, atrocities, and terror attacks -- hugging, carrying candles, singing “Imagine.” Ritalin being prescribed to “hyperactive” children -- almost all of them male, and almost all of them acting the way young males have always acted. Military forces bending over backwards to avoid the one thing that military forces are designed to do -- strike a target.
[. . .]
The betas currently inhabiting the seats of power in the West (Obama certainly -- one look at Michelle reveals who wears the britches in that family. Hollande is a Socialist, and thus a beta by definition. Cameron is the beta who wishes he were an alpha)
[. . .]
We were promised by feminists that once women took their places in leadership positions, we would immediately have a better world, predicated on the female virtues of moderation, community, and compromise. This may have worked in a world in which every society was operating on the same level. But in a milieu overrun by gangbangers, jihadis, organized criminals, and petty tyrants, all the Ritalin in the world is not going to help. An aversion to subjecting women to the same level of criticism as men has given a system characterized by fatuity, frivolousness, irresponsibility, and incompetence caused by unwillingness to acknowledge how the world actually works. Angela Merkel, Hillary, and Claire McCaskill can serve as examples.

White House Employs Anti American Cabinet Members, Who Ignore The First Amendment

"There is no constitutional right to perpetuate hostile environments or to engage in threatening speech," Duncan said. Here's one more White House anti American control freak ignoring the First Amendment. That guarantees the right to express protected speech and behavior which may offend some people. Racist speech is protected speech. Duncan's comment is offensive and hostile. Under his standards he should be silenced. Low and no information, and omniscient voters have been conditioned to promote not hurting feelings over constitutional rights. Feminist therapeutic state is destroying the constitution. In March, Oklahoma moved swiftly after Sigma Alpha Epsilon members were videotaped singing a racist chant on a charter bus. University President David Boren immediately condemned the video and two students were expelled.

Therapeutic, Feminist Law School

[From article]
I was watching in horror a series of Mark Dice videos of interviews in which passersby signed petitions to repeal the First Amendment to shut down criticism of Obama because it was all clearly racist. petitioned to repeal the Bill of Rights; revealed they didn’t know when and why we celebrate the Fourth of July; signed up to ban the American flag and replace it with a New World Order one.
[. . .]
the IRS contributed to Obama’s reelection campaign -- perhaps even fixing its result -- by denying his opponents the tax exemptions to which they were entitled. Then it made up cockamamie excuses why it could not produce the email record evidence which they were legally obligated to preserve and produce. Now it turns out that the records requested did exist and were destroyed after the agency was put on notice to keep and provide them to Congress.
[. . .]
"The IRS did not put forth an effort to locate and preserve the backup tapes," said Timothy Camus, deputy inspector general for investigations with the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration. He said 422 backup tapes were destroyed.
The new details about the IRS watchdog's year-long efforts to uncover Lerner's missing emails emerged during a hearing Thursday before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
[. . .]
This week we learned that the lawyer who previously was in charge of preserving and producing the Lerner IRS records, is now in charge of obtaining Hillary’s emails and producing them.
Which do you think we’ll see first -- the missing Lerner emails or the missing Clinton ones?[. . .]
If the Court can “help out” Congress by reading into laws what isn’t there and changing the clear meaning of words like “state” into “federal”, it can “help” Congress even more by systematically rewriting any law with which a majority of the justices disagree. At best, this tactic will only encourage sloppier legislative drafting.
For lazy Congressmen this is a boon. They can spend all their days fundraising and golfing. Of course, it’s only the little people in the trenches who need to be concerned about what laws require or permit them to do and plead for more certainty.[. . .]
In a deranged culture where the Stalinist bloodlust of political correctness is so insatiable that a hit TV show has to be yanked from the airwaves because of the roof of a motor vehicle driven by the characters, how many networks will be willing to countenance anyone espousing "traditional" theology or morality?
[. . .]
Why not create a new online law school, the Penumbra School. You can get your law degree from me at little cost and in rapid order. How? Well, we can skip all the courses on legislation. All we need is a meditation course in its place where we try to divine the feelings on matters of the linchpin Justice Kennedy. And we can dispense with constitutional law since it is now whatever five justices think it should have been. Contract and Corporation Law classes are unnecessary as the GM bailout established they count for nothing if the president decides to abrogate them. Immigration Law is unnecessary, too. No need to read what Congress has passed about immigration just leaf through the latest executive orders from the White House.
[. . .]
So, it’s simply a matter of time until bar exams are challenged and abolished as having a “disparate outcome”, and my grads can sail home free with only a few courses on feelings and none on law.

Feminizing America

[From article]
Is it just me, or have you noticed that feelings now trump common sense and rational reasoned thinking in America today? Feelings have become more important than national security, our economy, the lives of our troops and even public health when you observe the politically correct way our government is dealing with this Ebola thing. It is insane.
I am not blaming Oprah, but I saw this trend toward everything being about feelings beginning decades ago, when the Oprah Winfrey show became the hottest thing on national daytime TV. Has our culture become too feminized?
[. . .]
Guilty feelings over America's sin of slavery have lead author and Ebola expert David Quammen to suggest that we risk Ebola getting into our country rather than blocking flights from Liberia. So this fool cavalierly advocates putting millions of Americans at risk of contracting Ebola as payback for slavery. This is insanity, folks.
[. . .]
In keeping with the Obama administration’s pattern of using every governmental agency at its disposal to overrule the Constitution, punish its enemies, and bully Americans, the FCC is considering a petition to ban the name “Redskins” from being used over the airwaves. Can you believe that, folks? Remarkably, Democrats believe that being sensitive to the feelings of those who are obsessed with political correctness is worthy of killing the First Amendment.
Everywhere you turn, constitutional rights, the law, and freedom of speech are being overruled by a hypersensitivity to hurting someone's feelings. Liberals tell us that public expressions of patriotism and wearing a t-shirt displaying an American flag to a California school on Cinco de Mayo is mean because it hurts the feelings of illegals. Don't you just want to yell, “This is my country! Get over it!

CS Lewis: The Trouble With The Therapeutic State

[From essay]
the Humanitarian theory. Those who hold it think that it is mild and merciful. In this I believe that they are seriously mistaken. I believe that the “Humanity” which it claims is a dangerous illusion and disguises the possibility of cruelty and injustice without end. I urge a return to the traditional or Retributive theory not solely, not even primarily, in the interests of society, but in the interests of the criminal.
[. . .]
According to the Humanitarian theory, to punish a man because he deserves it, and as much as he deserves, is mere revenge, and, therefore, barbarous and immoral. It is maintained that the only legitimate motives for punishing are the desire to deter others by example or to mend the criminal. When this theory is combined, as frequently happens, with the belief that all crime is more or less pathological, the idea of mending tails off into that of healing or curing and punishment becomes therapeutic. Thus it appears at first sight that we have passed from the harsh and self-righteous notion of giving the wicked their deserts to the charitable and enlightened one of tending the psychologically sick. What could be more amiable? One little point which is taken for granted in this theory needs, however, to be made explicit. The things done to the criminal, even if they are called cures, will be just as compulsory as they were in the old days when we called them punishments.
[. . .]
Thus when we cease to consider what the criminal deserves and consider only what will cure him or deter others, we have tacitly removed him from the sphere of justice altogether; instead of a person, a subject of rights, we now have a mere object, a patient, a ‘case’.
[. . .]
Only the expert ‘penologist’ (let barbarous things have barbarous names), in the light of previous experiment, can tell us what is likely to deter: only the psychotherapist can tell us what is likely to cure. It will be in vain for the rest of us, speaking simply as men, to say, ‘but this punishment is hideously unjust, hideously disproportionate
[. . .]
The Humanitarian theory, then, removes sentences from the hands of jurists whom the public conscience is entitled to criticize and places them in the hands of technical experts whose special sciences do not even employ such categories as rights or justice.
[. . .]
The first result of the Humanitarian theory is, therefore, to substitute for a definite sentence (reflecting to some extent the community’s moral judgment on the degree of ill-desert involved) an indefinite sentence terminable only by the word of those experts—and they are not experts in moral theology nor even in the Law of Nature—who inflict it.
[. . .]
Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
[. . .]
To be ‘cured’ against one’s will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level with those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.
[. . .]
We know that one school of psychology already regards religion as a neurosis. When this particular neurosis becomes inconvenient to government, what is to hinder government from proceeding to ‘cure’ it? Such ‘cure’ will, of course, be compulsory; but under the Humanitarian theory it will not be called by the shocking name of Persecution.
[. . .]
Even if the treatment is painful, even if it is life-long, even if it is fatal, that will be only a regrettable accident; the intention was purely therapeutic.
[. . .]
If crime is only a disease which needs cure, not sin which deserves punishment, it cannot be pardoned.
[. . .]
But we ought long ago to have learned our lesson. We should be too old now to be deceived by those humane pretensions which have served to usher in every cruelty of the revolutionary period in which we live.

Harvard University's Sexual Assault Policy Not Law Based

This policy indicates that Harvard University has moved beyond the rule of law into the therapeutic state. No more lawful standards of criminal liability. It is all about feelings.

[From article]
activists and administrators alike say that the next hurdle, which is related but perhaps more daunting, is changing a culture that propagates the normalcy of sexual violence and mistreatment of its victims.
[. . .]
Harvard’s culture as a more fundamental source of problems related to sexual assault.
Alicia Oeser, director of OSAPR, notes that there is “definitely” a culture of victim blaming at Harvard and nationwide.
[. . .]
a very small number of men commit the vast majority of rapes on campuses, they still largely act with impunity,” Smith wrote in an email.

Definition, Culture: the customs, arts, social institutions, and achievements of a particular nation, people, or other social group.

Population Passive As Western Civilization Declines

[From article]
A judge warns her about her own murdering to come? Might he have warned all of us about being her murdered victims to come? He is warning her of consequences, but not us of our shared danger of having her on the streets? Can we not have an Amber Alert when serial drunk drivers are cut loose?
Some of you are wondering how someone, who in the last eight years has been convicted of two DUIs, can still be on the road. Brace yourself. The truth gets worse in our current lawless society that has become a veritable Road Warrior apocalyptic nightmare.
[. . .]
So she was arrested on suspicion of her third DUI, and was let go after being arrested noticeably drunk and traveling 120 mph? Whoever dropped the case should be summarily put on leave, given that he or she is directly responsible for the subsequent death of Mr. Winslow — after Ms. Vazquez had been convicted of prior DUIs, warned by a judge, and then not charged after hitting 120 mph.
[. . .]
So here is her defense against the charge of vehicular murder:
She had a job once. Apparently, being employed is now not normally expected, but so aberrant to the degree that it counts as a plus in our current culture where millions have ceased working.
Then we hear that she is an alcoholic. But what does “is an alcoholic” mean versus “drinks whenever she wishes and gets into a car”?
[. . .]
The prosecutor and/or judge in that latter case also should be held accountable, given that he let back onto the street a known DUI offender with two priors and a pending third.
Let us return to the extenuating circumstances: in addition to Ms. Vazquez’s addiction, you must understand that she was (a) molested and (b) suffered from a “feeling” of being unloved and (c) had a stepfather. Note that she and her attorney so far adduced no proof for any of these mea culpas, and her attorney seems to assume that millions of others likewise could claim in extremis that they were unloved and/or had stepfathers and thus have extenuating circumstances when they kill and maim others. It is now the sort of stock defense that at some point must have worked to be so frequently emulated.
[. . .]
I accept that lawyers lie, fantasize, and deceive to help their clients; but DeOcampo’s arguments are insulting to any thinking person. Consider his perverse logic:
[. . .]
Let me translate the journalese: Ms. Vazquez, without a valid driver’s license, drinks herself into a stupor, then, for the fourth time that law enforcement knows of, gets into a car drunk and drives (but not “reckless” (sic), because she avoids head-ons), then hits Mr. Winslow on his way home, sends him down an embankment to die, and flees the scene of an accident — and we are lectured about her unloving stepfather and an addiction.
[. . .]
We live in a deeply diseased society in which we care little about the victim and a great deal about the perpetrators.
[. . .]
the Obama administration that vies for their political allegiance, or lots of killers and criminals who will enter the U.S. while the Border Patrol is distracted and busy as a social welfare agency.

Feminization Of American Men

Not discussed in this article is what to do when it is the police or psychologists, or psychiatrists who are bullies. Or what to do when it is crime families who are bullies, trying to provoke violence so that police arrest their target.

[From article]
"the only way to stop a bully is to show him that physical force won't get him anywhere. The only way to show him that is to beat the hell out of him."

Making Crime Into Illnesses

Former NFL coach Dick Vermeil wrote the forward in Sandusky's book. "If it's true, he's a sick man. He had an illness none of us knew about. That's all." His comments show he accepts the Therapeutic State promoted by the psychiatric industry. Making illnesses out of anti social behavior, i.e., criminal acts is what the Nazis did in Germany. They medicalized social problems. They declared Jews to be vermin, needing extermination. There is no appeal from a medical diagnosis. It allows the state to deny basic rights to individuals who become unpopular with the ruling class. Yet it comes into the dominant paradigm as benign, not demonizing those helpless individuals who harm others. Their crimes are rationalized under made up illnesses which need treatment. And who provides the treatment? Psychiatrists.

[From article]
"They adopted six kids -- Sandusky had told people they couldn't have children -- and raised five boys and one girl.
[. . .]
Studies show that roughly half of child molesters were abused at some point in their lives, Finkelhor said. But there are a variety of other factors, too. He says some experts believe genetics, developmental experiences and prenatal issues might be involved.

Therapeutic State In Action

This is how the Therapeutic State works. Psychiatrists testify in court predicting the future. They promote their ego-driven control-freak personal opinions. They are blind to the effects of their misguided myopia. The elected criminal class writes laws for campaign contributions from the psychiatric industry and the drug companies. These abominations will continue till they make public policy based on reason not drug company profits.

Stop Psychiatric Boondoggle

Are the categories "mild, moderate, serious and suicide" established for statistical purposes? Who distinguishes between the categories?

The best observation by this reporters is "Mental health is not easily measured." It cannot be measured. It is all about consensus. Later she quotes a man saying "No I'm not normal. I would love to be normal again." Only conformist prevaricating psychiatrists can tell what is normal, and they do it for money. It is impossible to distinguish between sanity and insanity.

Who will treat the judge who said, "We all kind of crazy after Katrina," drawled Judge Arthur L. Hunter?

Using scare tactics this greedy psychiatrist said, they are "the walking wounded - untreated, they jump off bridges, they hang themselves, and they shoot themselves in the head,"said Dr. Stephens. How many suicides are caused by taking psychiatric drugs? Why is that not discussed?

How does he know what people will do in the future? Only psychiatrists are permitted to predict the future in court and get paid for doing so. Why didn't psychiatrists warn American citizens about the collapse of the financial system in 2008?

Instead of getting rich from human suffering why don't psychiatrists and their support technicians explain that life happens. Life is not a bowl of cherries and for most humans it is quite difficult to simply survive.

Curbing psychiatric expenditures reduces waste of taxpayer funds. Taxpayers can fund projects which will improve the quality of life for all. Not having a home is stressful and causes people to suffer. They do not need drugs, they need a home. It is cheaper to give them what they need instead of making the drug companies richer.
