Alam, a Bangladesh-born Muslim and registered Democrat who was invited to the White House after working on Obama's 2008 campaign, admits on his site that the mass demonstration is "aimed at politically mobilizing Muslims" to "oppose the 9/11 wars," "cut military spending" and gut the Patriot Act and other post-9/11 measures protecting Americans from Islamic terror.

Far from it. Alam doubts Muslims were involved with the New York and Washington attacks. He suggests it was a Zionist conspiracy to make them look bad and trigger a war on Islam. In 2009, he openly speculated about Jewish involvement in the 9/11 plot: "What's the reason not a single Jew was killed that day?"
