James Crawford was speaking with a witness in the courthouse Wednesday morning when an investigator asked him who he was and called defense lawyers sleazy, said Jerry Steering, Crawford’s attorney.
The men traded insults and the investigator threw a metal document clip at Crawford, which he threw back, Steering said. The investigator then grabbed Crawford, slammed his head into a bench and began punching him, Steering said Crawford did not strike back.

“It is an affront to the criminal justice system and to the citizens of Orange County that this DA would allow this to happen on his watch and stay completely silent,” Jacqueline Goodman, an executive committee member of the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice, said in a statement.
The fight comes amid a simmering scandal in the county over the Orange County district attorney’s use of jailhouse informants and handling of related evidence.
Crawford recently won a new trial for a suspect in the 1998 murder of a pregnant woman over the allegations.
The Justice Department is reviewing requests for a federal investigation into the county’s justice system, Dena Iverson, a spokeswoman for US Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch, told the newspaper.
The Association of Orange County Deputy Sheriffs, which represents district attorney’s investigators, said there were many witnesses to the courthouse fight.

Drug Industry Promotes Dangerous New Drug In New York Times

Promoting drug treatment, this psychiatrist, who promotes drug treatment, makes remarkable arguments for taking drugs to erase memories. Most importantly he does not address potential abuses of these drugs which can be used by say, defense lawyers and criminals to render witnesses ineffective. What stops that? But also the human body and mind are extremely complex. Psychiatrists are one group of omniscient beings, the smartest man in the room, who thinks they know all there is to know about the body and the mind. Their omniscience causes extreme behavior by people who take drugs which make them violent, when they were not previously. If violence occurs conveniently when the person stops taking drugs, what is the argument for starting? Humans can recognize patterns. After noticing the pattern it is necessary for people to act to prevent the same harmful pattern in their lives. These drugs would eliminate the recognition and the impulse to act. This psychiatrist promotes drug treatment, the mission of the pharmaceutical industry, their obedient compensated prognosticators, the psychiatric industry and the lobbyist for the drug companies, NAMI. They promote drug usage with fantastic claims and seldom notice any side effects.

The current standard of treatment for such phobias revolves around exposure therapy. This involves repeatedly presenting the feared object or frightening memory in a safe setting, so that the patient acquires a new safe memory that resides in his brain alongside the bad memory. As long as the new memory has the upper hand, his fear is suppressed. But if he is re-traumatized or re-exposed with sufficient intensity to the original experience, his old fear will awaken with a vengeance.

New research suggests that it may be possible not just to change certain types of emotional memories, but even to erase them. We’ve learned that memories are uniquely vulnerable to alteration at two points: when we first lay them down, and later, when we retrieve them.

These studies suggest that someday, a single dose of a drug, combined with exposure to your fear at the right moment, could free you of that fear forever. But there’s a flip side to this story about how to undo emotional learning: how to strengthen it.

It is also why we should think twice about casually prescribing stimulants like Ritalin and Adderall for young people who really don’t need them. Stimulants also cause the release of norepinephrine and may enhance fear learning. So it is possible that taking stimulants could increase one’s risk of developing PTSD when exposed to trauma.

The study examined the use of prescription stimulants, like Ritalin and Adderall, and the rates of PTSD in nearly 26,000 military service members between 2001 and 2008, and found that the incidence of PTSD increased along with the prescriptions.

The clear implication of these studies is that emotional memory is not permanent after all.

you still remember your biography, but your fear would be stripped of its force. The subjects knew perfectly well after the study that they previously feared spiders and that they now — strangely — felt little to no anxiety around them.

Some may view any attempt to tamper with human memory as disturbing because it seems at odds with what we ought to do as a culture with the darker aspects of our history: Never alter the facts, even if we have divergent interpretations of them. And it is critical not to destroy places where crimes of humanity and collective trauma took place, like the concentration camps, so we never forget what we have done and remain capable of doing. Fair enough. But I see no reason not to help frightened individuals soften their painful emotional memories.

It turns out that panic disorder is associated with an increased sensitivity to carbon dioxide in the brain.

Curiously, that might help explain why some people have panic attacks that wake them at night.
Evolutionary design has left us a few million years out of date; we are hard-wired for a Paleolithic world, but have to live in a modern one. The irrational fear of anxiety disorders was once probably useful and lifesaving. No longer.

Rogue Lawyer, Book Review

John Grisham''s newest book (Doubleday 2015) Rogue Lawyer about Sebastian Rudd's cases and  clients. Very exciting read. Along the way he makes observations about the legal system which he uses to justify his stepping over the lines to counter the extra legal activities of the police and prosecutors. He no longer maintains a real office in a building. Instead his office is an armor plated vehicle with a desk. He is accompanied by his body guard Partner. That's his name, Partner. As an investor in a UFC Fighter he defends him when the fighter is prosecuted for homicide. The police chief kidnaps his son. It is a wild ride and his mobile office gets destroyed during the book.



His observation about prosecutors is "Virtually all prosecutors have the same genetic flaw; they cannot admit the obvious once it's on the table. They cling to their theories. They know they are right because they've been convinced of it for months, even years. 'I believe in my case' is one of their favorite lines, and they'll repeat it mindlessly as the real killer walks forward with blood on his hands and says, 'I did it.'"

Quoting the one honest cop in the department, Spurio [honest policeman] says, "These guys are outta control, Rudd [the rogue lawyer]. You gotta stop them."
He responds, "No way, Nate. I can't stop them. Maybe I can embarrass them from time to time, cost the city some money, but what they're doing here is happening everywhere. We live in a police state and everybody supports the cops."

The prosecutor in one case "is not a bad guy and does not want to be where he is now sitting. His problem is simple and obvious--an eager-beaver cop got wounded in a botched raid, and the law, in black and white, says the guy who shot him is guilty. It's a bad law written by clueless people, and now [prosecutor] Finney is compelled to enforce it. He cannot simply drop the charges. The police union is breathing down his neck.

Max Mancini, chief prosecutor is "crafty in the courtroom and boasts of a 99 percent conviction rate, same as every other prosecutor in America. Because he's the boss, he gets to manipulate the numbers, so he has real proof that his 99 percent is legitimate.



Describing the herd mentality, the police have the killer. To relieve the enormous pressure on them, and to begin the process of poisoning public opinion, and to establish the presumption of guilt, they are manipulating the press, as always. A leak here and there and cameras show up to capture the face that everyone has been desperate to see. The "journalists" chase their tails, and [suspect] Arch Swanger is as good as convicted.
Why bother with a trial?

If the cops can't convict with evidence, they use the media to convict with suspicion.
Regarding experts he says, the truth can be expensive, especially when it comes from expert witnesses. Our system is chock-full of "experts" who do little in the way of teaching, researching, or writing. Instead, they roam the country as hired guns testifying for fat fees. Pick an issue, a set of facts, a mysterious cause, and unexplained result, anything really, you can find a truckload of PhDs willing to testify with all sorts of wild theories. They advertise. They solicit. They chase cases. They hang around conventions where lawyers gather to drink and compare notes. They brag about "their verdicts."
Their losses are rarely mentioned.



They are occasionally discredited by nasty cross-examinations, in open court, but they stay in business because they are so often effective. In a criminal trial, an expert has to convince only one juror to hang things up and cause a mistrial. Hang it again on the retrial, and the State will usually throw in the towel.

He's a retired psychiatrist who never liked to teach or listen to patients. Legal insanity has always fascinated him--the crime of passion, the irresistible impulse, the moment when the mind is so filled with emotion and hate that it commands the body to act violently and in a way never contemplated. He prefers to do all the talking. It's his way of convincing me how brilliant he is. I listen to his bull**** as I try to analyze how a jury will react to him. He's likable, intense, smart, and a good conversationalist.
He spends two hours evaluating [the defendant, client], and surprise, surprise, he is now certain the kid blacked out, went crazy, and does not remember pummeling the referee.



On criminals who threaten him, "They are the traffickers, some extremely nasty guys. A gang, a ring, a cartel, a disciplined band of criminals, most with ties to eastern Europe, but some local guys as well. They abuse the girls, keep them terrified and confused and hooked on heroin. Most people in this country don't believe there's sex trafficking in their cities, but it's there. It's everywhere. They, the traffickers, prey on runaways, homeless kids, girls from bad families looking for escape. It's a sick business, [. . .] really sick.

Don't know enough about this young lady. But my reaction is that she may have felt humiliated by this young man. Maybe he did consider her a hillbilly, and beneath him. It may be the same class difference (real or imagined) as between Travis Alexander and Jodi Arias. Many people have poor or low self esteem. The testimony in the Arias trial showed that she was devoted to Travis and wanted to marry him. He seemed to be treating her as his sex slave which she was willing to be. She just wanted to marry the guy. When  he expressed his disdain for her, she lost it and killed him. 

That is not to say she was justified in killing him. Nor was Jayna in this murder either. Just that it may explain why it happened, and that there is no method for bringing that into the trial. Classism is seldom discussed or mentioned when it comes to bias and discrimination. If these men had expressed their dislike for the women for being black or lesbians they might have been able to use that bias, hate speech, as justification for murder. "He insulted me. He called me a N-word." "He called me a hillbilly." and "He called me a cripple." do not work as easily.

The night that Ryan Poston was shot dead by his on-again, off-again girlfriend he was supposed to meet a former Miss Ohio 2012 beauty queen for a date, an Ohio court heard on Thursday.
Audrey Bolte, who also finished runner-up in Miss USA, told prosecutors she was looking forward to seeing Poston, 29, at a bar to play pool and drink on October 12, 2012, but he failed to arrive.
That was because Shayna Hubers had shot him six times at home - during which she allegedly 'cackled' with glee claimed a cellmate of the accused, who claims the 24-year-old confessed to her while behind bars.

Prosecutors allege that Hubers shot Poston because she was furious he was trying to break up with her.
Hubers, who was 21 at the time, denies murdering her lawyer boyfriend and claims she shot him in self-defense.
Her trial began on Monday and during that time, Hubers has been held at the Campbell County jail in Newport.
Her romer cellmate testified to the court that Hubers joked about the shooting and said she was going to get off all charges.
'Did she ever laugh?' Commonwealth's Attorney Michelle Snodgrass asked Cecily Miller according to Cincinnati.com.
'Oh, yes.'
'About what?'
'About shooting him in the face and giving him the nose job he always wanted,' said Miller. 'That's what bothered me – she cackled.'

Also on the stand was Vernon West, who lived in the condo below Poston with his wife Doris.
They testified they returned home at around 8.30pm and heard a woman crying on a balcony above.
West said that she returned inside the home at around 8.50pm and then he heard two pops that at first he thought were fireworks and then four more and then a thud.
'The first two shots, I thought might have been fireworks,' Vernon West testified according to Cincinnati.com.
'But a few seconds later, I heard four shots, and I knew that wasn't fireworks.'
Vernon West also said that they did not hear a physical fight or arguing before the shots.
Hubers, who was 21 at the time, claimed she was acting in self-defense because the young attorney was shoving and hitting her, but during an interview with police she was quoted as telling a detective she gave Posten 'the nose job he wanted.'
On the first day of testimony Tuesday, jurors were shown a video of the defendant's interview with police following the slaying.
'He was screaming at me at the top of his lungs after he had thrown me around the room,' the woman told a detective sitting across from her, reported Cincinnati.com.
'I shot him enough times to kill him,' she said, 'so that he wouldn't suffer... He was laying there, twitching and making noises, and I shot him in the head.
'I was watching him die. it was painful to watch him die and to know that I had done that,' reported WCPO.
Hubers then described her late boyfriend of one year as 'vain' about his looks.
'I shot him right here,' she said in the video as she pointed to her nose. 'I gave him his nose job he wanted.'

'He said, 'You're just a hillbilly from Kentucky.' And I am. I guess the hillbilly came out in me, and I took up for myself,' she told police in the recording played in court.

Hubers graduated from Lexington's Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in 2009.
In the fall of 2010, she made the Dean's List at the University of Kentucky as a sophomore psychology major. Zevely said she is close with her parents, and her mother spent the day with her in Northern Kentucky prior to the shooting.

So the lesson is look at what you are endorsing before endorsing it? Is that really necessary for omniscient, morally superior beings? Perhaps the rule should be that ordinary people need to do that, but not superior beings. I mean, like, you know, um, the US Congress did not have to read the awesome health care bill before passing it into settled law. You know what I'm saying?

Delivering the Law School Criminal Justice Institute’s inaugural “Trailblazer Lecture” in Wasserstein Hall Friday, Steinberg described her experience during the public scrutiny over the video. According to a New York City investigation, Steinberg did not check the content of the video before allowing two of her employees to appear in it.

While Steinberg said during the lecture Friday that the video at the heart of the controversy was largely misconstrued and its message distorted, she said that if her organization had been given the proper chance, it would have attempted to edit the video.
“Precisely because its message is so vulnerable to misinterpretation, we would have insisted on editing out those portions of the video that threatened even imagined violence against the police,” she said.

The International Women’s Day exhibit at Harvard Law School will no longer honor Robin Steinberg, the executive director of the Bronx Defenders, a non-profit provider of public defense services in New York City. The annual Law School exhibit, which honors women in the legal profession, revoked its invitation to Steinberg following backlash for her link to the controversial YouTube video “Hands Up.”
Steinberg has come under criticism, as the video’s lyrics and images appear to endorse killing white police officers in retaliation for the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, unarmed black men who were killed by white police officers this summer. Two lawyers from the Bronx Defenders were featured in the video, and a New York City Investigation revealed that Steinberg did not check the contents of the video before allowing her employees to take part.

Students at Harvard Law School plan to honor the Bronx public defender who was caught lying about her organization’s role in an outrageous anti-cop rap video, The Post has learned.
Robin Steinberg is among 50 female lawyers and policymakers who will be lauded next month as an “inspiration” to aspiring attorneys at the elite grad school.
Steinberg, executive director of the Bronx Defenders, is serving a 60-day suspension after city investigators determined she tried to cover up her taxpayer-funded group’s role in producing a rap video that showed a uniformed cop with guns pointed at his head.
Two underlings were forced to resign over the “Hands Up” video, first reported by The Post.
Despite her questionable ethics, Steinberg’s picture will hang in a place of honor at Harvard Law’s Wasserstein Hall for two weeks as part of the institution’s International Women’s Day celebration.
She will also be recognized in a March 10 keynote address organized by two student-run groups — the Harvard Women’s Law Association and the Harvard Law and International Development Society.

The Harvard Law website says Steinberg and other honorees were chosen “based on compelling narratives” about how they “strive for impact and excellence in the legal field” and serve as “an inspiration to students, faculty and staff.”

The video shows rappers “Uncle Murda” and “Maino” holding pistols to the head of a white actor playing an NYPD cop and features the lyric, “For Mike Brown and Sean Bell, a cop got to get killed.”
The two Bronx Defenders lawyers who appeared in the video — Ryan Napoli and Kumar Rao — quit after the video came to light.
The Department of Investigation found in a probe that Steinberg “made misleading statements to city officials about the organization’s involvement.”
Steinberg, who went to NYU Law School, was suspended for 60 days and warned that she would be under increased scrutiny for six months when she returns.

A deputy alleges he saw Lunsford sitting on an inmate’s lap with her hand down his jumpsuit and his hand up her skirt while she was meeting with him regarding a pending case.
“We believe that there’s been a false police report prepared, we have not seen the police report so we don’t know what lies have been told,” said Lunsford’s attorney, Mary Lynn Belsher.

Belsher says the sheriff’s department is trying to make her client look bad because Lunsford filed a court order against the department involving recently implemented jail restrictions that she says violates her client’s rights.
“It had to do with deprivation of health care, deprivation of proper writing utensils like paper and pencils for the inmates and the fact the inmates were being denied the opportunity to have access to their discovery delivered by the attorney so they could prepare and know what was going on in their cases,” said Belsher.
The sheriff’s department has now revoked Lunsford’s access to any of her clients at the jail.
“I think they are trying to gain an unfair advantage in court by disparaging her reputation before the court,” said Belsher.

Famed Hub lawyer Jeffrey Denner was sued in federal civil court yesterday for failure to pay $2.7 million in taxes and penalties, dating back to 2002, according to court filings.
The complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Boston states Denner is liable for federal income tax for seven years dating back to 2002 for a total of $2.7 million.
But Denner’s tax lawyer Bill Greenberg said the lawsuit is purely an administrative tool that the Internal Revenue Service is using to keep its claim to taxes from the early 2000s, which otherwise runs out after 10 years. He said the actual amount is much less.
Greenberg said this is a debt that Denner has been working to pay down for years. He said the original bill stems from 2003, when Denner suffered an aneurysm followed by an infection and nearly died. He said Denner spent two years recovering from his illness and could not pay his taxes during that time.

Taxpayer Funded Defense Attorneys Neglect the Interests of Their Clients

For at least 20 years I've written and spoken to journalists, radio, TV and print; prosecutors, police and others regarding the offensiveness of revealing medical records of persons accused of psychiatric fantasies. The daily reports of those records was reduced somewhat. But in this case it is the defense attorney who revealed those records in violation of state and U.S. privacy statutes. I called to the Committee For Public Counsel Services, which is defending the suspect. I left voice mail messages for Shannon Lopez, the attorney who reportedly revealed the records in court; Lisa Hewitt (unknown position); John Hayes, Attorney In Charge, Suffolk County Superior Court Trials Unit; and Vanessa Velez, Attorney In Charge, Boston District Court. I also left a message with the secretary to Anthony J. Benedetti, Chief Counsel on Thursday October 16, 2014. None of them returned my call. It shows that although this taxpayer funded law firm claims it trains its attorneys to protect the interests of its clients here is evidence of abuse and neglect. What adds to the problem, is that journalists simply repeat what they hear in court. They appear to be mindless stenographers taking notes with no critical thought ability. The long term effect of this long term abuse is that the public at large joins police, prosecutors, politicians believing that all persons accused of psychiatric fantasies are dangerous and violent. It is thoroughly amazing how pervasive those misguided beliefs are. The criminal justice system was corrupted by psychiatry, making criminals less likely to be held accountable for their violence and crime.

The Christian Science Monitor reported that on Wednesday, June 25, the New York City Council allocated $4.9 million of its budget for the New York Immigrant Family Unity Project (NYIFUP), which launched as a pilot program in 2013 with $500,000 of taxpayer money.
“NYIFUP will now provide 100% coverage to eligible immigrants in the New York Immigration Court and will pilot an expansion of the project to cover New York City residents detained and facing deportation in the immigration court in Newark, N.J," the Center for Popular Democracy said

MA Public Defenders Ready to Help The Rich and the Famous

The priorities of the Committee For Public Counsel Services indicate they do something beyond providing defense counsel to indigent defendants. Like all bureaucracies the main purpose is to maintain itself and to grow larger. It is curious that when the Cambridge police were hired to arrest me on behalf of a local crime family, the CPCS provided a charming young lady who provided no counsel and laughed at me when I was being questioned. It shows that even among the allegedly public spirited (taxpayer funded) CPCS lawyers, they pick and choose who to help and who to let the government do what it wants to do. 



During that masterpiece of a police frame-up seven lawyers were paid to not put on any defense. One judge threatened that if I testified about what the police did to me, he would stop the trial and have me put into a hospital. Another judge refused to appoint any legitimate defense attorney and forced me to represent myself. So much for paying lawyers with taxpayer funds. 



Why not let defendants appear by themselves. At least they may get a hearing instead of being framed by lawyers and police. The incident occurred five years before Judge Wolf exposed the James Bulger FBI informant abuses, up to 60 homicides protected by the FBI. 17 years later Bulger is finally on trial and gets better representation than I ever did. The Boston FBI used the MA state courts to put four white men (Peter Limone, Joe Salvati, Louis Greco and Henry Tameleo) in prison for a murder they did not commit. This all indicates that the courts are as corrupt as the political system and the legislature in Massachusetts. 



Courts get less scrutiny than the other branches of government and voters remain silent about the pervasive corruption. This goes on openly in a state dominated by education. In state where education is dominated by Harvard University. Five law schools in the Boston area remain silent along with the several government schools, and the many political science departments. What are they teaching in the Massachusetts universities?

FBI Accuses Others of Wrongdoing. Ahem!

I used to wonder why the Cambridge City Council often promoted employment of convicted felons, and allowing illegal aliens to vote in local elections. Now I understand. They are doing favors for the FBI, an employment agency for criminals. The most notorious is James Bulger who was protected by the FBI, and charged with 19 homicides. Here's one more person employed by the Feds to get information on an accused Boston lawyer. They paid him $75,000. When I was a student in law school the FBI began an intense character assassination campaign which continues today. They scared me and used me to fight organized crime for 15 years and did not pay me one dime. It was a 42 year campaign of political career destruction by the FBI and their charming informants. The FBI is not mentioned in the Constitution. It is a creature of statute that violates the guaranteed constitutional rights of citizens in the name of control. Many prominent journalists, politicians, corporations and others with influence work for the FBI. They exhibit open hostility to free speech rights. They distort what they report and they abuse their power. The FBI protects their assets throughout the civilian world which is now filled with cynicism. We can thank the FBI for the scandalous lack of accountability. While these criminals operate without surveillance, the FBI condones 24/7 surveillance, harassment, provocations, character assassination and more by local police, politicians, crime families, and assists from Harvard University campus cops, of a white 69-year-old man which the FBI says is disabled.

Christopher Dearborn, a professor at Suffolk University Law School, says "If you cannot have a conversation with your lawyer that you know is going to be privileged, then the entire system falls apart." That is not the only element of the criminal justice system that indicates the system fell apart long ago. When lawyers take money not to defend their clients, it makes the courts ludicrous. When police officers lie under oath as they regularly do in court, trials are a joke. When the FBI allows informants to murder civilians who report crime it makes the FBI dangerous. When the FBI frames four men for a murder they did not commit for ethnic cleansing purposes the US government needs to be defanged. The entire system needs scrutiny and gets none in Massachusetts.

"John Darrell, said his troubled client had a 'long, long history of mental illness' and no memory of the brutal attack." He shows his ignorance of the privacy interests of his client, joining prosecutors and journalists. Of what value is it to reveal his client's medical records at an arraignment? Why do journalists repeat this obscenity? There is no rational reason. Notifying the Court of potential use of an insanity defense is required, but not at an arraignment. Journalists and prosecutors sensationalize disability to demonize suspects. They slur all persons ever accused of mental illness, a legal disability. Using medical records of disability indicates a lack of respect for his client's rights. But also the defense attorney shows his own bias suggesting that the history of disability is the cause of the violence. He shows his lack of awareness that psychiatric drugs are known to cause violence. Even the drug company controlled FDA requires a warning label on the bottle for these drugs. Why is there no recognition that the toxic drugs may be what caused the violent reaction of this suspect? The drug company lobbyists perpetuate a fraud on the public and the taxpayer funded government and courts. One more element of the elected career criminal political class.

Essex County MA Prosecutor's Overt Disability Bigotry

In spite of repeated complaints the Essex County MA District Attorney's office continues to slur all persons accused of mental illness. What is the causal connection between an accusation of mental illness and violence? There is no rational connection. Moreover and especially in this case the defendant pleaded guilty. So the argument made previously by the Essex County DA's office that the prosecutor reveals the "history of mental illness" because the defendant may, repeat may, use mental illness as a defense. That was what they said when confronted with their regular use of "a history of mental illness" revealed before arraignment after an arrest. They never explain how they get their medical records or the reliability of the "history of mental illness." Prosecutors in Essex County have all become psychiatrists licensed to make diagnoses in court. It shows how negatively biased that prosecutor is, but also how arbitrary and capricious psychiatry is. It indicates that judges share the institutionalized bias pervasive in the prosecutor's office. But also that the defense lawyers do not object to these repeated abuses of the rights of persons with disabilities to enjoy equal access to the courts, a First Amendment right. Nonetheless the negative stereotyping of persons accused of mental illness encourages police to abuse, to harass, to assault, to provoke, and to kill, persons accused of mental illness. According to the stereotype of the Essex County prosecutor's office all such persons may be violent and thus they need to be treated as criminals. Too bad the lies and corruption of the Essex County Prosecutor's office are not prosecuted as freely as their biases are broadcast in open court. Most of them would be in jail. Another question is why do journalists publish the irrelevant hateful comments by the prosecutor's office regarding medical records which have privileged privacy status under state and US laws? It appears that journalists share the negative bias of the prosecutors, the lawyers and the judges. How do persons with disabilities overcome these barriers which do not exist for Black Americans, homosexuals, illegal aliens and women? Can't solve a problem until it is recognized.

Defense Lawyers Seek Hereditary Link to Mental Illness

As in the Unabomber case, Jared Loughner's lawyers are working to create an insanity defense. They are creating a new path increasing the client base for the psychiatric industry and the drug companies. They seek to find link to mental illness in Loughner's family. Surely this is a return to the good old days of Massachusetts and the eugenics movement. The state sterilized anyone accused of mental illness to avoid passing on the disease to future generations. How misguided can lawyers, courts and journalists be that they are clueless about the imaginary nature of this effort?
