Academic Upper Class Privileges, Funded By Taxpayers

[From article]
Like almost all other Massachusetts public university and college leaders, Keith Motley is entitled to a housing allowance or house, a car, and free tuition for himself and his family members, and can cash in all of his unused vacation days and 20 percent of any unused sick days on retirement.
If the University of Massachusetts Boston chancellor leaves his job, he’d still be eligible for a one-year sabbatical at his full annual salary of $355,059. Then he’s guaranteed a position on the faculty, if he wants one, at a minimum of $280,000 a year. If Motley were to be fired without cause? The university would have to pay him up to one year’s wages.
"That sounds absolutely ridiculous," said Daniel Baxter, a sophomore from Somerville majoring in information technology at UMass. "For doing nothing for a year? That’s insane in any industry."
[. . .]
These benefits are common on American campuses. More than 60 percent of presidents at public and private colleges get all or part of their housing provided, for example, and 75 percent get cars or car allowances, according to the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources. In Massachusetts, almost all of them get both.
[. . .]
But the idea that good candidates won’t apply for college presidencies without generous incentives is hard to prove, said Saranna Thornton, a labor economist at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia.

Political Deception By Ruling Elite

[From article]
The art of magic is akin to that of politics in that people may suspend disbelief as they listen to or read the utterances of political leaders or candidates. For politicians, like magicians, the trick is to get the listener or watcher to focus the spotlight and attention on something favorable for the speaker while ignoring or paying less attention to other things. The artifice is to distract listeners and viewers into acceptance by the patter of the politician or the magician. The deception focuses on the performer so that the audience unaware of the helpers or “spinners” behind the curtain who may have arranged or helped in the trick.
Success in politics is like success at performing card tricks, with false shuffling of cards, but making sure the right one is always on top. If magicians skillfully deceive the viewer, politicians similarly engage in spin, misinformation or outright deception.
In both magic and politics there is an art of manipulation, perhaps arranged by the expert practitioners and handlers behind the curtain who help create the image of the politician and foist it on the public.
In both, there is exploitation of psychology and a necessary understanding of human behavior, emotion, and perception. A recent book by David Greenberg, Republic of Spin, gives a valuable account of the different, sometimes contrasting, techniques used by famous leaders such as Franklin D. Roosevelt and Charles de Gaulle for dramatic effect to gain approval. Perhaps surprisingly for some, it was Richard Nixon who delivered the message, ”concern for image must rank with concern for substance.”
The issue of manipulation and trickery is all too familiar in the 2016 U.S. presidential electoral campaign from candidates of both parties. Complex and countless controversial issues, [. . .] are reduced to a simple prescription. In reality, few can understand or are capable of evaluating the real meaning and consequences of proposals regarding complicated issues. The problem is that political leaders and candidates are rarely asked to explain fully and clearly those proposals.
In many ways, people believe what they want to believe. They may not challenge or reject doubtful statements or misinformation either because it is not important to them, or it is too difficult or tiresome to seek the truth. Emotional as well as cognitive factors may enter into the problem. People may go along with what they think is the opinion of their peers, the social or political community close to them.
[. . .]
All this has long been familiar. In Plato’s Republic, Socrates expounds partly through a fictional tale the use of the “noble lie,” the falsehood told by the elite to maintain harmony and unity in society or to advance an agenda. The use of the noble lie, according to Socrates, and its acceptance by the three classes into which he divides society, keep them in place in the social system. Moreover, good is supposed to come out of the use of lies and myths, because if people believed in the prevalent myth into which they are indoctrinated, they would be inclined to care more for the state.
Political leaders from time immemorial have followed the argument of Socrates of a convenient fiction, a bold myth or flight of imagination, or “the noble lie,” that the community should and must accept for its own good.
It is obviously true that in certain political circumstances, as in private life, lying may be desirable to achieve a good end. Politicians must then face difficult choices. Falsehood and deceit may be necessary in time of war or to avoid moments of public disorder.
The case of Winston Churchill and the city of Coventry still remains controversial. In November 1940 Germany launched a devastating bombing raid on the city. It is alleged that the prime minister knew of the intended Luftwaffe raid but said and did nothing about it because any action would have alerted Hitler to the fact that the UK had broken the German Enigma Code. Coventry was sacrificed for the “greater good.”
[. . .]
However, the argument that rulers should create myths that people will accept is a dangerous and incorrect one. A society does not need to be misled by rulers, akin to Plato’s “Guardians”, in order to be healthy and stable.
George Orwell in his novel 1984 is one of those writers who have indicated the growing tendency for citizenry to be subjected to psychological conditioning, to the distortion and to the reversing of the meaning of words, and to the slanting of political messages in directions favorable to the rulers.
Considering the intensity of current disapproval and hostility in the U.S. and in Western European countries towards the “establishment” and the existing political systems controlled by elites, and the present approval of present presidential candidates critical of them, one can ask if the magic has failed?
[. . .]
Image is not reality, and presentation of false solutions is not a form of medicine to the citizenry.

It is not true that myths are necessary for citizens to live in a more agreeable way, nor is it true that citizens would care more for their condition in the system if they accepted the myths. The candidates of both U.S. political parties can do better than speak in sound bites. They should avoid magical sleight of hand in dealing with serious issues.

Elite Abuses Government Power Contrary To Desires of Voters and Taxpayers

[From article]
Members of the elite, the people who make public policy, are generally above average intelligence. They are generally well informed. Why would they promote a policy that is clearly not in the best interests of their nation? Their stated reason for encouraging immigration from the third world is to replace workers that are absent due to demographic decline.
[. . .]
the future Pope Benedict XVI: "There is a self-hatred in the West that can be considered only as something pathological. The West attempts in a praiseworthy manner to open itself completely to the comprehension of external values, but it no longer loves itself; it now only sees what is despicable and destructive in its own history, while it is no longer able to perceive what is great and pure there."
[. . .]
former British Home Secretary Jack Straw, who allegedly said, “The English as a race are not worth saving.” Straw was part of the British administration that opened “up the UK to mass migration.” When asked “what is Swedish culture,” Mona Sahlin, former leader of the Swedish Social Democratic Party replied, “I can’t figure out what Swedish culture is. I think that’s sort of what makes so many Swedes jealous of immigrants. You have a culture, an identity, a history, something that binds you together.”
[. . .]
Multiculturalism is ordained in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples adopted by the General Assembly on 13 September 2007. It states, “that all doctrines, policies and practices based on or advocating superiority of peoples or individuals on the basis of national origin or racial, religious, ethnic or cultural differences are racist, scientifically false, legally invalid, morally condemnable and socially unjust.” This nonsense is not even believes by the migrants. Haitians bypass Cuba, Muslims transit through Turkey and other migrants pass through half a dozen countries to reach the narrowminded, oppressive West.

Typical Upper Class Politically Powerful Elitists Whining About Racism

Here's the young fellow who knows what it is like to not be liked because of how he looks. George P. Bush, 38, son of Presidential Candidate and former Governor of Florida, Jeb Bush. He's a Texas Land Commissioner.

What an awful life with a grand-father who was CIA director and President, and an uncle who was President. He must suffer a lot of deprivation and denial of access to schools, jobs, and social life. Poor baby.
[From article]
Bush: It was important. I remember there was a time when my son went to Ocala to play baseball, a game on a team. And the team was a Miami team, the majority were Hispanics. My son George, he's dark-skinned. And they spoke horrible things about those from Miami. And naturally I had to explain or describe that people who hate are not the majority, and we just accept them and move forward. Because he was quite upset. Because he and his friends never -- since we live in Miami, we don't have a problem. But in other parts of the country, it exists. It's a good lesson to learn, to always remember that we still don't have a country that's full justice for all. We can see this in the African-American communities also, there's discrimination still. And in my life it's important to acknowledge this and to act about that -- yes.

Police Abuses Exaggerated by Black Intelligentsia?

Bill O'Reilly, left; Tavis Smiley, right

Is the police issue a black and white political issue?

[From article]
Admittedly, Tavis Smiley is alot slicker(and richer) than your garden variety "F***k the police" activists prancing in the streets, shutting down bridges and yelling "black lives matter." But he's spreading the same excrement they are, he just covers it up with a suit, tie and pretty words. Like Obama's former green jobs czar Van Jones, Smiley can go from talking “street" to “elite" without skipping a syllable.
[. . .]
members of the black intelligensia, white leftists, communist groups and whacko preachers demand full social, political and economic equality for blacks, all things which are rooted in a stable family structure, the same structure their insane policies have managed to burn to the ground.
[. . .]
Like all of his far-left, black radical revolutionary heroes, he thinks white cops are the enemy not the "precious, young" thugs beating the hell out of innocent whites, shooting other blacks in their neighborhoods, ambushing law officers, and roughing up teachers.

Israel's Real Crime

[From article]
Israel's crime against them is very rare, so rare it doesn't even have a name, so I will invent one: I'll call it paradigmocide, destroying the intellectual basis for cherished beliefs that are empirically wrong. One well-known incident of this crime was some four hundred years ago when Galileo committed it against the Catholic Church by producing evidence for a heliocentric solar system.
Kill a man's child, rape his wife, drown his dog; many men can forgive these offenses. Present him with evidence that his most deeply-held beliefs are wrong, and that he cannot forgive.
[. . .]
Since the Left seeks power and believes it is entitled to that power because of its superior intellect, knowledge, wisdom, and morality -- think of them as the mirror image of the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz
[. . .]
religious groups chose to see Israel's very existence as a sin, rather than consider that their theology might be wrong.
[. . .]
The problem starts in academia, where social scientists seek to ingratiate themselves with the Left because the Left presents itself as more intelligent and well-informed, which is how academics regard themselves,
[. . .]
And they know they're wrong, even if they won't admit it. If they thought they were right, they would make the case using reasoned arguments and supportable facts.
[. . .]
A key consideration is that if you reject the idea that self-appointed elites are entitled to rule, the only basis for legitimate power remaining is consent of the governed, a principle so central to the American creed that it appears in the Declaration of Independence. This may be why those segments of the American people who believe in this ideal, and similarly-minded people around the world, invariably support Israel. Israel is a symbol of the principle that the consent of the governed is the only legitimate basis for holding power and is thus anathema to members of elites who see themselves entitled to rule without accountability.

Journalists Ignore Bilderberg Conference

[From article]
It is with predictable disappointment to announce all four networks failed to inform the public of a secretive and extremely exclusive meeting of central bankers, CEOs, public officials and world dignitaries taking place this weekend.
From May 29 through today, June 1, esteemed academicians, hand picked journalists, intelligence officials, world banking oligarchs and the CEOs and bosses of Royal Dutch Shell, Google and Microsoft, to name just a few, slinked behind closed doors at the Marriott hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark, to do God knows what.
But watching the major news networks and monitoring the domestic news wires, you’d never guess this confab happened.
With the conference now into its fourth and final day, one would expect at least a trickle of articles from the mainstream press regarding Bilderberg 2014, if at the least to perform the routine mock, shame and ridicule of “tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorists” claiming participants are working towards a “new world order.”

Relaxed Rectitude and Spineless Preferred

Eagan focuses on one aspect of incompetence. But the ruling establishment prefers a certain kind of executive. In Roger Morris's book, "Partners in Power," he reveals that weak persons with relaxed rectitude are the preferred kind of executive. The willingness to go along to get along (Tip O'Neil?) is helpful. Amorello and Swift fit the pattern. This allows the ruling class to maintain its exploitation of taxpayer funds for their own benefit. Politicians who focus on getting re-elected are puppets for the ruling class.

Elena Kagan, Member: The Ruling Class

[From article]
"If you are Laurence Tribe in 1984, Harvard professor of law, you can "write" using the products of your student assistant, Ron Klain. After Klain admits having written some parts of the book, and the other parts are found to be verbatim or paraphrases of a book published in 1974, you can claim (perhaps correctly) that your plagiarism was "inadvertent," and you can count on the Law School's dean, Elena Kagan, to appoint a committee including former and future Harvard president Derek Bok that issues a secret report that "closes" the incident. Incidentally, Kagan ends up a justice of the Supreme Court. Not one of these people did their jobs: the professor did not write the book himself, the assistant plagiarized instead of researching, the dean and the committee did not hold the professor accountable, and all ended up rewarded. [. . .]For our ruling class, identity always trumps."
