He appears to be indignant about deception. But only by individual civilians. Not a problem when the White House fools the people and journalists. Below is an email I sent to him on May 17, 2016. No reply as usual. He has never responded to my previous comments to his misguided criticism of his colleagues.

Saw your report on WBZ-TV news at about 5:20 PM on Tuesday May 17, 2016, regarding false Facebook posts which fool the public. I am curious why that gets priority over the reports that high ranking national security mogul Ben Rhodes, boasted of fooling American voters and taxpayers about the Iran nuclear deal. How he boasted of how stupid Americans are and how smart he and his colleagues are. Isn't that an abomination deserving of your access to air time? Or do you share the elitist attitude of the White House staff? Then there was similar boasting by Jonathan Gruber, about how stupid Americans are that the health care law was passed by his propaganda too.



Low information voters is nothing new. H.L. Mencken regularly ridiculed Americans for that 50-80 years ago. He was not a White House official. Does how one reacts to knowing that, measure the integrity of the individual?

MIT's Jonathan Gruber Exploits State and US Taxpayers, and MIT

Let’s update this script to 2015 to place in context Breitbart News’s revelations of built-in contract fraud at the heart of the Affordable Care Act. If we were to restate it: The doctor (Prof. Gruber) may look at the reimbursement system and say to himself ‘You know what? I make a lot more money (compared to my MIT salary) if I take this kid’s tonsils out award myself lucrative no-bid personal federal and state consulting contracts as direct statutory requirement of the Affordable Care Act -- of which I am the architect.”
These outrageous fees ($500/hour) to Prof. Gruber are required by federal law because his software econometrics model of healthcare exchanges is specifically required for implementation -- not only for the Federal Government but also all the states attempting to set up their own “exchanges.” Prof. Gruber has circumvented competitive bidding and resultant cost-containment by claiming unique proprietary capabilities available nowhere else in the market. This law constituted carte-blanche for Prof. Gruber to write his own highly lucrative consulting contracts with the States.

Gruber has essentially enjoyed a monopoly on economic analysis of Obamacare since February 25, 2009, barely a month after President Obama’s inauguration. On that date, the federal government issued a public notice that “[t]he Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE), intends to negotiate with Jonathan Gruber, Ph.D. on a sole sources basis for technical assistance in evaluating options for national healthcare reform.”

These contracts resulted in $500 per hour fees to Prof. Gruber personally -- not including separate contracts to pay for his expenses -- resulting in million-dollar-a-year personal compensation (nice work if you can get it!) Americans instinctively know that this arrangement is rotten to the core,

When did it become clear that Dr. Gruber was not only ruling on the technical efficacy of health care reform, but with such rulings also forcing the states to make him a very rich man? Did he properly disclose to DHHS his financial stake? Not being a permanent employee, Prof. Gruber’s DHHS contract probably falls generally under the rules applied by NIH’s Office of Extramural Research, whose definition of Conflict of Interest can be found on here:
“A Financial conflict of Interest (FCOI) exists when the Institution’s designated official(s) reasonably determines that a Significant Financial Interest (defined below) could directly and significantly affect the design, conduct, or reporting of NIH-funded research.”

He also claims 100% ownership in his namesake software model. Creators in the private sector generally owe commercial rights to their work-product to their employers, clients or companies. Prof. Gruber’s IP obligations are doubtless recorded in the MIT faculty employment manual.

Almost all financial fraud arises from falsifying -- in some manner or another -- one of three types of primary commercial documents: 1) forged bank documents; 2) false invoices submitted for payment or reimbursement; or 3) falsified timesheets submitted for compensation for employment or consulting hours.

It appears by the sums involved, that Prof. Gruber was being retained for months or perhaps years at a time for substantial part-time engagements away from MIT. Indeed, Prof. Gruber’s public sector funded personal compensation appears to be higher than that afforded to both the President of the United States and the Governor of Vermont.

The Microsimulation model was surely developed while Prof. Gruber was full time employee at MIT, an educational institution which not only paid his salary but also provided office and classroom space, colleagues, computer resources, students, travel expenses, etc. etc. Again, how did Prof. Gruber attain this model as his sole property?

Prof. Gruber seems to have bypassed his employer, pocketing the federal and state funding directly, without regard to any professional obligations to his colleagues and students.

The suspicion is that he pocketed the money himself and never actually employed anyone[3]. It is inconceivable that this severe accusation has not circulated in Cambridge and environs. Yet in the weeks since this accusation was first published -- in the sense of the “dog that didn’t bark” -- no one has come forward to say: “It’s all a misunderstanding! I am Prof. Gruber’s former student and it was me! I was the one who did the work and billed the time to the Vermont project!” This accusation, if true, clearly could lead to potential criminal charge of contract fraud. While maintaining silence, his colleagues, perhaps resentful and disgusted by his blatant “cashing in,” have not rallied to his defense.

A Massachusetts Institute of Technology health economist who made national headlines last year for talking about 'the stupidity of the American voter' was a target Monday in a report from the Vermont state auditor saying the economist may have padded his bills to the state.
Auditor of Accounts Douglas Hoffer said he referred his findings on Jonathan Gruber and his contract with the state to Attorney General William Sorrell.
Hoffer said Gruber's invoices billed Vermont $100 per hour for the work of a research assistant – 1,000 hours in 10 weeks.
'To do so, the RA would have worked exclusively on this project for more than 14 hours per day – every day,' the auditor said.
If the assistant worked Monday through Friday, it would amount to 20 hours per day, with just four hours left over to eat and sleep.

The MIT economist got $392,600 from the Department of Health and Human Services for his Obamacare consulting, records show.
The National Institutes of Health paid him another $2 million for Medicare consulting, and the Justice Department has compensated him to the tune of $1.7 million for 'expert witness testimony.'
Four US states, including Vermont, contracted with him for another $1.6 million in consuting work for advice about health care laws.

'It is noteworthy that Dr. Gruber's first invoice reported round numbers of hours worked (100 for Mr. Gruber and 500 for the research assistants),' Hoffer wrote.

Gov. Charlie Baker fired four members of the Health Connector Board, including MIT professor Jonathan Gruber Wednesday.
Gruber drew national attention when he suggested that President Barack Obama's administration pulled the wool over voters' eyes with the Affordable Care Act.
He later apologized.
All four Deval Patrick appointees were asked for the resignation, and they tendered them today.
"As with all incoming administrations, I am establishing a new leadership team and I have instructed those individuals to take a fresh look at the Connector and to implement ideas to improve the operation of that important state entity," an excerpt of the letter that was sent to those who resigned said.

As Gruber continues to withhold documents while he awaits a call-back for more testimony before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in the new year, more shocking information is coming to light detailing the deceptions that went into the writing of the health-care law.
Gruber said that Obamacare had no cost controls in it and would not be affordable in an October 2009 policy brief, presented here exclusively by TheDC. At the time, Gruber had already personally counseled Obama in the Oval Office and served on Obama’s presidential transition team. Obama, meanwhile, told the American people that their premiums would go down dramatically.

By now, most of us know how Obamacare Architect Jonathan Gruber feels about the American voter. He thinks that a lot of them are pretty stupid. At least, the ones who bought into the sales pitch that he created in order to convince the American people Obamacare was a terrific idea.
But, was he right? Are American voters really as dim-witted as Gruber thinks they are?
“I’ve heard him talk, either on YouTube or something of that nature, so I know how inspiring he is.”
In order to test that theory, I traveled to a college campus to see if I could get students to sign a petition that would ask President Obama to withdraw his current nominee for the position of Secretary of Defense and replace him with……..Jonathan Gruber!

Who Is The Man, Jonathan Gruber, MIT Economics Professor?

Prof. Gruber is not unique. There are thousands of academics who have an expertise in one or another area. They are often called upon to give advice on public policy issues. They know more than voters, taxpayers, and elected officials on their pencil point area of academic endeavor. But what do these knowledgeable members of the elite do? They recognize that they are dealing with people who are effectively clueless about their subject matter. In this case economics, few politicians know much in that area. Though many politicians are lawyers few know much law, so it is not a surprise to find they are ignorant about areas they did not study in a reputable school. Experts can make it up as they go and lie all they want. And many of them do that. Who's to know? You might wonder if they are receiving millions of taxpayer dollars they might want to provide reliable truthful information. But they do not feel obligated to do that. Why should they share what they know? Even if they are paid to do so. This is my concern about experts. I began to recognize the problem when I attended lectures at Harvard University that were open to the public. Though I have a degree from Columbia University, Harvard University faculty and students treat me as if I was a high school dropout, which is some of what what the FBI says about me. So it is not unusual that I often find myself in a humorous situation being spoken to as if I was a moron by arrogant, pompous academic know-it-alls. Gruber is just one of many, who was exposed and ridiculed.

Republican congressman from Kentucky with two MIT degrees told him how embarrassing Goober had made it to be an MIT grad. A GOP rep from Georgia pointed out that 80 percent of his district had voted against Obama “so I guess we’re not the stupid voters you were talking about.

How Cambridge is it? This arrogant Ph.D. gets paid millions to take a wrecking ball to the best health-care system in the world, then takes a victory lap around the country, making hundreds of thousands more to brag how he and the rest of the Obamatrons lied and got away it because of the “stupidity of the American voters.”
In other words, Obama voters. Because they’re the only ones who believed Obama when he said that if you liked your doctor you could keep him.
And now if you’re angry at Gruber’s appalling arrogance and hubris, you’re a “hater.”
No joke. It came out over the weekend. One of the health-care officials in Vermont, another state paying him a six-figure stipend to gut its medical system, sent Goober an email asking him to, uh, please explain.
“I am laying low on this,” Goober wrote back. “Anything I say will just feed the haters. I went on MSNBC yesterday and apologized but other than that I have been strongly advised to stay off the radar.”

A majority of the congressmen on the panel are, you guessed it, haters. How scared are the Democrats of putting this poster boy for their insanity on display? The lame-duck Senate Democrats decided to release the “terror” report on CIA interrogations of Muslim terrorists this morning, at just about the time the Goober-man takes the stand.

How bad is it going to be? The Obama administration has asked to have its witness this morning seated in a “separate panel” from the obnoxious Cambridge puke. The request noted that witnesses are “almost always afforded an opportunity” to shun someone as despised as Dr. Goober.

Mr. Magaziner has maintained a rather low public profile since.  But The New York Times found him ensconced at the Clinton Foundation.

Longtime fans of Obama scandals are quite familiar with this approach by the president.  He didn't know anything about the scandal until he heard press reports; the person at the center of the scandal never worked for him; and besides, whatever the problem, it's not his policy.

Mann’s hockey stick, like Gruber’s Obamacare schtick, was used for purposes of influencing public policy.  In the public policy arena, even false information merits First Amendment protections.  The cure for false policy information in our republic is the truth.
For his Obamacare consultations with the feds and various states, Gruber has pocketed nearly $6 million per at least one account.

Now, a series of government contracts totaling more than $2 million for consulting services provided by the Harvard-trained economics professor are coming under scrutiny.
Eight states hired Gruber to help design their health exchanges after he banked nearly $400,000 in 2009 through contracts with the Department of Health and Human Services, records show.
Gruber and a handful of colleagues got state contracts totaling $1.6 million over seven years from Michigan ($481,000), Minnesota ($329,000), Vermont ($400,000) and Wisconsin ($400,000), The Washington Post reported.

Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber — the MIT brainiac caught on video admitting the law’s “lack of transparency” was meant to dupe a gullible American public — could end up becoming Obamacare’s demolition man, with congressional Republicans threatening to hold hearings and experts saying his bombshell comments could impact the Supreme Court case challenging the Affordable Care Act.
“They can subpoena him and call him to testify about the way he used federal money because he got an awful lot of it,” said Dennis Hale, a Boston College political science professor, referring to reports yesterday that Gruber received hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal grants to help states implement Obamacare. “If he shows up to testify, it’s going to be pretty ugly.”
“This is the gift that keeps on giving,” Hale said. “If you’re selling a product that people don’t want to buy and then tell them they’re stupid because they don’t want to buy it, you get into trouble.”

So here’s this geeky nerd, overeducated, greedy, pompous, thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room while simultaneously engineering a public-policy disaster of the first magnitude — and not only is he from Massachusetts, he’s from Cambridge.
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before.
Why is it that Massachusetts produces so many of these “pointedy-headed intellectuals who can’t park a bicycle straight,” as the late Democrat George C. Wallace used to say?
Do you realize that every last one of the many disasters that has befallen this nation in the last half-century can be traced right back here to the banks of the Charles River?

A moonbat in-the-satchel reporter from Vox pooh-poohed the goober’s role as “mostly number-crunching.” Two years earlier this same bumkisser said he “pretty much wrote Obamacare.”

The MIT economist who is the brains behind Obamacare has made quite a stir with his admission that President Obama’s health care takeover was built on lies. Mr. Gruber says he was willing to say and do whatever it took to advance the scheme, and now it’s clear why. Obamacare made Mr. Gruber a multimillionaire, and at the expense of the taxpayers.

Those “stupid” people have been extremely generous to Mr. Gruber. The Government Accountability Office (GAO) in 2010 investigated the $297,600 that the Department of Health and Human Services paid Mr. Gruber to sing the praises of the health care scheme. Congress — or part of Congress — was concerned that this payoff violated a federal law against paid government propaganda, but the GAO said it wasn’t a violation because Mr. Gruber had written his propaganda on his own time. Officially, he was paid only to “analyze various health care reform proposals and identify cost and coverage implications.”

Minnesota, for example, used federal Obamacare grants to pay Mr. Gruber to attend one meeting, participate in a biweekly email list and print a copy of the report, all for $329,000. Wisconsin paid Mr. Gruber $400,000 for the same material, requested by the office of then-Gov. Jim Doyle, a Democrat. When the report was presented, Gov. Scott Walker, a Republican, didn’t want Mr. Gruber at the news conference. Vermont is paying him another $400,000. Such a deal!
West Virginia, Maine, Colorado and Oregon have partaken of Mr. Gruber’s services, too, guaranteeing him a tidy sum. The money bought lies and deception. That’s Mr. Gruber’s characterization, not ours. “If you had a law which made it explicit that healthy people are going to pay in and sick people get money,” said Mr. Gruber, “it would not have passed.”

Given the amount of federal cash Mr. Gruber continues to pocket, Congress has a duty to order a full and complete audit of this work to make sure that no laws were broken and that the “stupid” taxpayers have received their money’s worth. While they’re at it, inquirers ought to consider whether Mr. Gruber’s dishonest politicking violates any ethical code at MIT. This flagrant Gruberism is another reason to repeal this abortion of a health care law.

Obama Health Care Law Architect Admits Lack of Transparency, Refers to Americans as Stupid

MIT Professor Jonathan Gruber, architect of the Obama health care law,  admits that the law was intentionally written in a complex manner so that no one could understand it, not even the Congressional Budget Office. He boasts of a lack of transparency and the stupidity of the American people in the name of getting the law passed. This was at a panel discussion on October 17, 2013 at the University of Pennsylvania. which removed the video clip from its web pages. Too bad for them it is already available to all on the internet, noted by the Daily Caller. Mark Levin spoke about this in the first hour of his radio show on Monday November 10, 2014.
