As New York moves to decriminalize low-level offenses, arguing enforcement is “rigged against communities of color,” other large cities are coming under pressure from the Justice Department to do the same thing.
Attorney General Loretta Lynch has issued a warning to municipal and state judges across the country that their courts could lose federal funding if they don’t ease up on fines and arrest warrants for minor crimes involving poor offenders, indigent minorities in particular.
In lieu of fines and jail time, Lynch urges the nation’s 6,500 municipal courts to provide an avenue for offenders to perform “community service” or take advantage of “amnesty days,” whereby outstanding arrest warrants are cleared for nominal fees.[. . .]
A strongly worded “guidance” letter, written by her civil-rights team, warns that a local court policy of enforcing warrants for failure to pay court fines and fees can have an adverse “disparate impact” on African-Americans, who are fined and/or arrested for outstanding warrants at “disproportionate” rates versus whites.
Federal data also show that blacks tend to break both felony and misdemeanor laws at a disproportionate rate. Even if applied evenly across all races and in neutral, color-blind fashion, such policies could be found by Justice to be discriminatory.

The Supreme Court has ruled that disparate impact doesn’t violate Title VI, only “intentional” discrimination does. “The administration is quite wrong to say that Title VI incorporates a ‘disparate impact’ standard,” Roger Clegg of the Center for Equal Opportunity points out. “The Supreme Court has ruled repeatedly that it does not.”
This new court “reform” will only exacerbate the crime problem. Studies show ignoring low-level crimes like warrant violations only leads to bigger crimes.
Under Mayor de Blasio, the NYPD has scaled back its aggressive enforcement of low-level offenses only to see both minor and serious crime rebound. Already cops have backed off public urination and other public nuisance violations, while overlooking outstanding warrants for many other misdemeanor crimes.
Even a senior Justice Department official predicts the decriminalization-cum-deincarceration movement will backfire in higher crime nationwide. “In five years the crime rate is going to be crazy again,” he said.

Progressivism is coming full circle with the arrival of racial segregation in the student dormitories at the University of Iowa.
At the dawn of progressivism, eugenics was meant to improve the human race by discouraging “inferior” races from reproducing, as Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger intended. The founding generation of progs had no difficulty identifying who those inferiors were, either: blacks, Asians, and basically anybody that wasn’t like the people in charge in the United States a century and more ago. Progressive President Woodrow Wilson introduced segregation to the armed services.
All of this was held up as an effort to improve society. And now, the same motivations are at work in progressive citadels like the University of Iowa.

Harvard University Plans Divisive Conference For March 2016

The Harvard Graduate School of Education 14th Annual Alumni of Color Conference will be held from Thursday, March 3 to Saturday, March 5, 2016 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The conference will be organized around three anti-American themes: Designing a New Blueprint for Democracy; Embracing the Mosaic as Muse; and Building Capacity for Sustainable Engagement. These three themes are defined in almost wholly negative ways. The conference organizers reject the melting pot concept, refuse to explicitly identify with non-violence (Gandhian satyagraha), and do not hesitate to depict the black minority as oppressed and dehumanized (presumably even that elite group that are Harvard alumni of color). The conference’s “search for new strategies” is thus being erected on negative premises, without any expressed love of country or one’s fellow man.

The Armed Forces was finally desegregated after WWII. Schools throughout the South were desegregated, and the SATs were established to discover minority talent that might otherwise be hidden from view. Affirmative Action laws which increased black educational and employment opportunities came into effect, and are still in effect.

Jane Addams' Settlement House movement also was welcoming and integrationist in its vision. The melting pot cannot be separated from the call to all people to participate in the land of opportunity. The reason the melting pot as a concept has not worked as well for African-Americans is that most of them did not come to these shores of their own free will. We cannot permit a white or Asian person to take an opportunity that by law belongs to a black person. There should be DNA criteria to accurately determine one's race. Years ago in our country, "one drop" of Negro blood made it impossible for one to be white. With today's technological advances, we could be more precise.
Racial classification is not without other benefits. Suppose one wants to marry and at the same time keep his bloodline pure. Say he's a black man. Shouldn't he be protected from a racial imposter like Rachel Dolezal?

This was clear when it failed to indict any criminal activity that jeopardized his administration. In 2008, members of the New Black Panthers Party stood outside the polls in Philadelphia allegedly intimidating the white voters from entering. One carried a police-style nightstick baton and was caught on tape which went viral over the Internet. Although the DOJ sought injunctions against the group, the superiors ended up dropping the charges. J. Christian Adams, a former lawyer for the Justice Department, testified before the Commission on Civil Rights and alleged that the case was dropped because "We abetted wrongdoing and abandoned law-abiding citizens." Other members of the Justice department testified before Congress that the enforcement of federal voting laws was not being treated equally.[. . .]
Eric Holder served as Attorney General from 2009-2015 and covered up every misstep this administration made. No indictments from his DOJ in the IRS scandals or the Fast and Furious Guns to Cartels and when the Knockout Game was revealed in videos, the only one arrested was a white man even though most perpetrators caught on camera attacking white victims were black. Is it any wonder that the Black Lives Matter grew into a movement even though it was based on media lies. The activists know that the Justice Department is behind them and the race demagogues are getting rich over the boiling resentments manufactured by Marxist ideologues in the academic community.

BlackLivesMatter movements called for the lynching and hanging of white people and cops. They encouraged others on a radio show Tuesday night to "turn the tide" and kill white people and cops to send a message about the killing of black people in America.
In a sane world, language like this would be roundly condemned but not in Obama's administration. Their hate speech will be protected and every black in the country will now unfairly be identified with these activists.

There is no evidence that the University of Missouri denies equal opportunity to its black students; those black students, like every other student on campus, are surrounded by lavish educational resources, available to them for the asking on a color-blind basis. The university’s faculty and administrators are surely among the most prejudice-free, well-meaning group of adults in human history. Thousands of Chinese students would undoubtedly do anything for the chance to be “systemically oppressed” by the University of Missouri’s stupendous laboratories and research funding.
But Missouri’s political class has embraced the patent delusion that the university is rife with racism. Governor Jay Nixon called on college officials to “ensure the University of Missouri is a place where all students can pursue their dreams in an environment of respect, tolerance and inclusion.” In truth, the only barrier to such pursuit is a student’s own lack of academic preparedness, should he have been admitted under a racial preference.

The precedent set here is monumental. Any student protester who can convince his college’s football or basketball team to threaten a strike will be able to bring administrators to their knees even more quickly than usual. Administrative cupidity and alumni fanaticism have turned the collegiate sports-industrial complex into the most powerful force on campus. If that behemoth can be reliably persuaded to support the latest racial agitation—and there will often be a critical mass of black athletes to appeal to—then an already supine leadership class will discard the reality principle once and for all.

Even without the sports boycott tool, however, the takeover of the college campus by racial hysteria appears all but complete. A video of a black female student at Yale screaming and cursing at her college master is a chilling portrait of self-engrossed, bathos-filled entitlement that has never been corrected by truth, much less restrained by manners: “Be quiet!” she shrieks at the frozen administrator, “Why the fuck did you accept the [master] position,” she continues at full, self-righteous cry.

More than pure campaign contributions by approved interests, this rally prefers politically correct voters. The United States is becoming majority non white. Who will comfort the minority white population, especially in non white cities? If being the majority makes people feel comfortable what difference does the source of campaign contributions make? Self identification determines one's race, sexual preference and gender. Will people lie to get special benefits? How do Cambridge police know that the author's spouse is a lesbian? Does she announce it? Wear a sign?
The death of Sandra Bland gets regular mention on television network news and in national newspapers every day. Are there other deaths that merit attention too? U.S. Rep. Gutierrez (D-IL) stated during a congressional hearing that the murder of Kathleen Steinle was "a little thing." What makes Sandra Bland's death more important than Steinle's?
Author states, "African-American women are arrested more often than white women in any given city across the country." but provides no evidence.
She also states they are "murdered by law-enforcement officials with alarming regularity [and] is too often ignored." Again where's the evidence? San Francisco statistics are cited but none from "any other given city."
How does author know what Cambridge police think? She says Cambridge police think a BMW "is stolen if a black male is behind the wheel."
Author quotes a friend who said "they’ve been hanging and killing negroes since the Civil War." Has any of her friends mentioned that 500,000 white men died in a war over slavery? Were all slaves in the United States black? 

 

Much of this appears to be exaggeration, alarming, to provoke and antagonize black people to hate white people and police. Is there some other objective which I missed? Should white people who did not lynch black people, who did not own slaves, did not think a BMW was stolen if a black man was driving, and did not murder any black lesbians purchase weapons for protection from the coming attacks and murders to retaliate for historical abuses?
Minister says, "But when the dominant culture doesn’t see and hear African-American voices about our pains, fears and vulnerabilities, our humanity is distorted and made invisible through a prism of racist and sexist stereotypes." In another era in another place this sentence might apply to reality. But in 2015 in Cambridge MA? It is fantasy. Cambridge's dominant culture is black nationalism and black supremacism, with a close up second by homosexual supremacism, and then women supremacism. It is a good example of cherry picking events to make an argument that is no more than propaganda.
This author regularly publishes her rants which have no answers. They are offensive while in the very place where this misguided author is published persons with disabilities are openly abused and insulted by the very same newspaper that she writes in, the Cambridge Chronicle. City, state and federal officials openly insult and demonize persons with disabilities. Police abuse them. Lawyers and courts deny them rights and privileges that black people enjoy freely. There are buildings which persons with disabilities cannot enter. There are public transportation they cannot use. They are seldom employed. They are often perceived as stupid and ignorant even when they have graduate degrees. 
Too many fake reports by black elected officials exploiting allegations of racism, some call it race baiting.

This is familiar territory for Coleman, who gets lots of awards for accusing lots of people of racism.
But the cop’s dash camera recorded a different story.

The cop’s camera recorded the state legislator as he burned by him doing 94 miles per hour — in his personal car with state tags.
On the side of the road, the officer and the black legislator exchanged pleasantries then got down to business: “What’s the rush,” asked the cop, congenially.
“I’m just trying to get home,” Coleman said, alternately saying he was unaware he was doing 94 mph, or that he did not know 94 mph was illegal.
The trooper said he was going to let him off with a warning, which was the same thing another cop in another county did the year before. The trooper reminded the legislator that if he had received tickets instead of warnings, he would have lost his license.
“Stop speeding in a state car, OK?”
Coleman denied it was a state car.
“You got state plates on it.”
“I understand what you are saying, speed got away from me,” Coleman said. “But I am not a child.”

CNN also did not show photos of Mercer’s mother, who is black.
The reason CNN altered the photo is obvious: the race of Mercer does not fit the narrative that only white males — and thus white supremacist — can be mass shooters.
A black male shooter is incompatible with the racist Black Lives Matters class warfare agenda pushed by the liberal establishment and its propaganda media.
On Friday, a CNN correspondent, Pamela Brown, cited writings allegedly penned by Mercer where he “rambled about his hatred toward black men,” thus portraying him as a racist or possibly a white supremacist.
The Los Angeles Times also portrayed Mercer as a white supremacist:
A federal law enforcement source familiar with the investigation said, though, that authorities had obtained some of Harper-Mercer’s writings, as well as a note he left behind, suggesting that he supported white-supremacist causes and opposed organized religion.

A key part of President Obama’s legacy will be the fed’s unprecedented collection of sensitive data on Americans by race. The government is prying into our most personal information at the most local levels, all for the purpose of “racial and economic justice.”
Unbeknown to most Americans, Obama’s racial bean counters are furiously mining data on their health, home loans, credit cards, places of work, neighborhoods, even how their kids are disciplined in school — all to document “inequalities” between minorities and whites.
This Orwellian-style stockpile of statistics includes a vast and permanent network of discrimination databases, which Obama already is using to make “disparate impact” cases against: banks that don’t make enough prime loans to minorities; schools that suspend too many blacks; cities that don’t offer enough Section 8 and other low-income housing for minorities; and employers who turn down African-Americans for jobs due to criminal backgrounds.

The granddaddy of them all is the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing database, which the Department of Housing and Urban Development rolled out earlier this month to racially balance the nation, ZIP code by ZIP code. It will map every US neighborhood by four racial groups — white, Asian, black or African-American, and Hispanic/Latino — and publish “geospatial data” pinpointing racial imbalances.
The agency proposes using nonwhite populations of 50% or higher as the threshold for classifying segregated areas.

Through its mandatory Civil Rights Data Collection project, the Education Department is gathering information on student suspensions and expulsions, by race, from every public school district in the country. Districts that show disparities in discipline will be targeted for reform.
Those that don’t comply will be punished. Several already have been forced to revise their discipline policies, which has led to violent disruptions in classrooms.

Appreciating white people is as dangerous as questioning Sharia law. This is only a day, not a month as other groups get. So it is still unequal appreciation.
